They came back

Soon my paid vacationing days came to an end and I had to go back to work. Now that things were more settled in the house (there being ten kids and five adults) we were able to get our routine pretty much down.

"I'm off to work! I'll be back soon!" I called, slipping on my jacket over my white uniform.

"Wait!" Dad called. I shook my head.

"I'm going to be late if I don't hurry! And Antoinette will take it out of my paycheck if I'm not there on time!" I replied.

"But the boys are-" Dad started, but I already opened the door and was met with a snowball to the face. Several laughs followed that. I heatedly wiped the snow off my face and glared at 5 of my nine brothers.

"Sorry Cap," Classic Sans apologized through a snort, "My aim was really off and... Hey... What's that get up for?" He asked. I sighed.

"I'm going to work at Antoinette's Fine Italian Dining." I explained quickly. Classic Papyrus's eyes lit up.

"YOU MEAN YOU WORK AT A PLACE THAT MAKES SPAGHETTI?!" Papyrus squealed. I nodded.

"Yeah. Spaghetti, Lasagna, Tortellini, Chicken Alfredo, Basil Pesto... All that good jazz." I replied, flattening out my collar on my shirt. "Look I gotta get going or I'll be late, so I'll see you guys later." I announced taking off at a rapid speed "And Sans, no pummeling your brothers with snowballs!" I shouted behind me. I ran as fast as I could down the mountain (though the house wasn't far from the town, which is why I found it odd that it was abandoned before I had gotten to it) and into town, kicking up snow into the air behind me. Finally, though I was mildly winded, I made it to the restaurant with 2 minutes to spare. I caught my breath and opened the door.

"Ah there's my favorite little scrub" one of my co-workers announced, giving my hair a small ruffle.

"Former scrub, Ivan" Antoinette reminded him.

"She'll always be a Scrub to me." Ivan mumbled. Antoinette turned to me and checked her list.

"Capri, you'll be serving tables 12, 4, and 26 today, got it?" Antoinette asked.

"12, 4, and 26, got it." I replied, with a nod. And then the weirdest thing happened. The lights went out in the restaurant.

"Son of a B-"

"Antoinette! There are little ears around!" Ivan warned.

"Bread stick. Son of of Bread stick. Ivan, if your so concerned about Capri, why don't you take her and go check on the electricity router?" Antoinette suggested, handing Ivan and I a flashlight. Ivan nodded and pushed me to the door. We had to go around the front to get to the router because the back door was electronic, and was locked because the electricity was off. When we got to the router I gasped. There stood 3 of the demon things that I had met back in the basement. And they looked hungry. Ivan looked at me odd.

"What's wrong Capri?" Ivan asked. I looked to him horrified.

"Y-you don't see them?" I studdered in a whisper.

"See what?" Ivan asked, advancing ahead of me. The demons growled as he got closer. Soon they were hissing and getting down in a pouncing position.

"Ivan, stop! You don't know what you're doing!" I yelped. Ivan laughed.

"Come on, Scrub, don't you think I can handle rerouting an electricity rout-"

But Ivan never finished. The demons attacked Ivan and sucked the soul right out of Ivan without any complications. And Ivan's body just laid there lifeless. I took a few steps back in fear. I thought Dad had said that they wouldn't be bothering me anymore! This was definitely the OPPOSITE of leaving me alone. I'll tell you that much. In a moments notice, the demons had finished sucking Ivan's soul and we're now shifting their attention to me. And man did I shake like a leaf, in fear. I gulped down my physical screams, and instead screamed eternally. Then the demons started to walk towards me, like wild wolfs after rabbits. I took more steps backwards. That was, until I realized that the demons had backed me up into a concrete wall. In my mind their were only two things I could have possibly done. And using my magical abilities, unfortunately, was not one of those two. The first was attempt to Parkour my way out of this situation. And I physically cringed at that option, because I can't Parkour for S***. The second was to scream as high pitched as I possibly could, and hopefully that might at least district them. But by the time I had come up with that idea, I could already feel my soul starting to break... Again. I couldn't even breathe, that's how bad it was. Or that was until I was dropped. There was a few whimpers that I had heard before I looked up and saw three of my brothers and their Gaster-blasters out. I gasped and coughed, trying to regain control of my lungs again. But as hard as I tried, I couldn't breathe. And that's all I remember. That is, until I gasped for air and found myself on one of the living room couches.
