Avoiding trouble
Nightmares. I had them almost every night. Most of them I could shake off and no one would ever know I had them. Mostly because I had started avoiding my brothers so I wouldn't cause them any harm. You see in this time, all the Gasters were busy in the lab doing... What ever it was that they were doing... And Antoinette had sent me a letter saying that as soon as I was better, and not being sleep deprived, I needed to hightail my butt back to work. So I was pretty much off the hook. So where did I spend my time avoiding my brothers? Walks mostly. Sometimes I didn't even bother sleeping, since I knew it would only end badly. I also started to pick up that they had started to follow me on my walks, so I started alternating paths and sometimes even teleporting ahead just to loose them. But one day, Sans picked up my tricks. I did spend time with them, but that was only when I had to. And even then it was limited. I would scarf down my food so I could get back on the walking trail quickly, and then vanish before any of my brothers got the chance to stop me. But Sans... I guess he was a fast learner. I was making my way down a newer trail that I had made when I saw him leaning up against a tree on my stretch to the snow caps. Of course, I acted like I hadn't even seen him and just walked right past him. But he teleported in front of me and blocked my path.
"So this is where you disappear off to everyday." Sans stated. I didn't say anything. I didn't even look up from the snow. "You know, you're really starting to worry everyone?" Sans asked. I still didn't respond. I brushed past him, but he grabbed my arm and turned me back to him... Not that it helped since I still didn't look at him. "You aren't yourself, Cap. You don't laugh, you don't smile, you don't even talk anymore." Sans stated seriously. I pulled my arm back and teleported. But Sans was right there to meet me. "Heh. Two can play at that game, Cap." I just continued forward. Sans teleported in front of me once again, but this time he grabbed my soul with his magic so I couldn't move. But he lighted up when he saw the condition my soul was in.

"Oh Cappy." Sans sighed.
"I tried to fix it." I mumbled.
"What?" Sans asked.
"My soul. I tried to use my magic to fix it. But... I only made it worse. It doesn't even have a color now. It hurts Sans." I croaked. Finally, I looked at him. And he gasped. I knew he would. Not only did I have bags under my eyes, but I was also bruised, scratched, and scraped all over my face. "Apparently, whatever you do to your soul also happens to you if you're not careful." I added in the same tone.
"Why didn't you tell anyone?" Sans asked.
"If you were in my shoes you'd be doing the same thing." I replied, in that never changing tone.
"Cappy. You can't hide things like this from us. We are your family-"
"That's exactly it, Sans! Don't you think I know that? I'm not doing this because I want to! I'm doing this because to protect you, all of you!" I yelled. I started to cry. "I don't sleep anymore Sans. I'm... Im to scared to sleep. Im afraid that I'm going to attempt to kill you, all of you. The nightmares, they've gotten worse. I-I-I can't sleep Sans. I lose control of myself when I sleep."
Sans released my soul and hugged me. And Sans then started to cry.
"C-Cappy, please come home. We... I miss you." Sans begged. I hugged him back.
"Sans... I can't." I replied. Sans cried harder.
"Please Cappy! Please!" Sans continued.
"I don't want to take any chances Sans. Believe me, I would if I could." I replied. Then Sans wrapped his arms around me tighter and teleported. We were standing in the living room now. "Sans, No!" I yelped, struggling to escape his grip. "Let me go!"
"Calm down, Cappy, I'm doing this for your own good!" Sans replied.
"No! I was doing what I was doing for your own good Sans! For all of you! Don't you get it?! I'm trying to protect you!" I yelled.
"Cap! Your here! And you're talking!"
I stopped struggling and took in a deep breath.
"Please forgive me Sans. Please forgive me some day, all of you." I announced, and then teleported. I had been living in a tree house that I had found when I first started walking, to keep my distance from my brothers. It was my only safe haven, and the only place that I knew my brothers wouldn't find me. So it only made sense that I teleported there. That last teleportation took everything out of me. And soon lack of sleep was catching up to me. So finally, after about a week of sleepless nights, I settled down, and tried to get at least a half hour of sleep.

"They sh-shouldn't exist. Th-th-they're all glitches."

"You know, the more time I spend in here... The less afraid of you I become."
