"Seokjin!" Little Taehyung ran to his guardian, three years older than Taehyung. Seokjin was also a boy, his body still looked petite, and he just started working out intensely.
The young prince grinned happily, hands clutching the Edelweiss flowers tightly against his chest.
The prince's feet were full of bruises, remembering the flowers field was in the middle of the forest near the hills far away from the kingdom located in the north area of East Kingdom.
Seokjin once mentioned to Taehyung how he loves the flower and wondering if he could see it again with his own eyes one day. Since Seokjin used to live in a forest and his father often brought back edelweiss after a hunting week.
Taehyung remembered a big grass field, the King of East Kingdom once brought him to the mountains in their territory and he saw a lot of Edelweiss flowers.
As innocent as he was, the young boy sneaked into the stable and took his horse without asking permission to the king or his royal tutors. He left at the dawn when most of the people were still asleep. Seokjin was still sleeping in his room in the servant's building.
The prince went with just his memories as guidance. Used the garden gate that connected to the outer part of the kingdom and left the castle alone, he knew guard rarely go there since that place has a lot of traps for intruders but the young prince memorized every single of the traps and able to sneak out without causing a fuss.
He used his black cloak, hiding his face from the guard that patrolling in the city's streets.
He knew a lot of hidden path in the city, his friend from the city taught him a lot. Surprising but the East Kingdom prince has a lot of friend from various social status, from a noble to street rats. Taehyung smiled and welcomed all of them with open hands.
He smiled, his chest swelled when he imagined Seokjin's happy face when he brings back the flowers.
Oh how naïve.
The road wasn't that easy.
For a young teenager, barely fourteen to go alone to the big forest. Not to mention it was raining and the road was slippery. Even though it was in the middle of spring, sometimes rain would come and drenches the road; like that day.
Taehyung didn't expect the short journey would be that hard. The last time he visited the hills was to have a small picnic, it wasn't like this. He went with a pack of guards, with an expensive carriage and at least three servants to help him to put the picnic set.
Taehyung wouldn't give up though, he vowed to get the flowers for Seokjin. Cringe and cheesy as it sounded but Taehyung didn't care, he would get it no matter what.
He was hungry when he passed the first border of the town and entering the forest area, the line that stood tall as the sign; reminding the young man that he already left the city and entering the outer part of the forest, he needed to go deeper.
He recalled what his father said, related to the flower field. The field located in the deeper part of the forest where there's nothing but tall trees and a really long river; the flowers field was like a small hidden paradise surrounded by huge trees.
The slippery road made the young man fell from his horse, he got a perfect score for horse racing but the lesson was in the castle training field, not muddy road like this. Taehyung winced, his knee bruised and his skin became a bloody red. He saw his knee bleed and he wanted to cry.
'The flowers are pretty, simple but mesmerizing ....'
The young man gritted his teeth, "wait for me, Jin-Hyung," he whispered to no one, "I will bring the flower for you."
He got up, tying a cloth from his cloak (he ripped it apart seconds ago) to his bleeding knee and continued walking to his destination. It was a tiring walk without a horse because when he fell, his horse ran leaving him behind.
He looked up, the rain still pouring hard and the bright sun of the spring season hid behind the thick clouds. He coughed harshly, taking a small bottle from the small travel bag he brought when he left the castle this morning.
He had no idea what time it is since the sun wasn't showing, still hiding behind the thick clouds. His head a little bit dizzy because he hit the ground when he fell from the horse. He wiped the dust from his cheek, ended up smearing more mud to his face but he didn't aware of that fact.
He hissed when he accidentally brushed a cut on his upper arm, to think falling from a horse could be this painful; Taehyung swore to ride a horse more carefully next time (he was lucky the horse didn't step on him ...).
He stopped several times at certain points, trying so hard to remember which road and which turn he must take. Everything seemed similar in the forest, he took the wrong path twice and didn't have any choice but to turn around and go to the right one. He used some red string to help him remember which way he already took.
When he arrived at the field, the rain has stopped. The lack of trees in the field let the sunshine illuminated the flowers. It shone gorgeously to the point the young prince held his breath for several seconds, maybe it took two hours or maybe three.
The East Kingdom looked the prettiest at this time.
Taehyung slumped down, his knees were shaking and his hands couldn't stop trembling due to the short journey that actually too hard for a kid like him. He was so thirsty but the sight before him made him forgot about that thing for a second.
It was so worth it, he thought inside his head as he took a nice deep breath. Inhaling the flower scent greedily, the scent of the wildflowers is Seokjin's scent and he loved it so much. He laughed, falling to his back and looked to the blinding white sky. The sun grinned back to him and light the day as if it was praising his bravery.
"I did it!" He shouted, raising his fists happily before let both of his hands fell to the side of his head. Taehyung felt so tired but the euphoria made him sat back up and started picking the Edelweiss one by one. The young boy clutched the flowers against his chest like it's the most prized possession he has at that time.
Uncaring about his bruised face or some cut wounds because of the sharp branches. He smiled widely, thinking a lot of ways to give this sweet present to Seokjin. He walked back, following the same path he took to get here, he was slow but he never stops, as if something was possessing him and his feet couldn't stop.
He had trouble with breathing since he was so hungry and tired, his water bottle was empty and he needed to find a river to fill it again but his short-circuited mind chose to continue climbing down the mountain since he thought the path isn't that long.
But he was wrong.
He clutched the flower when he slipped down, face met the dirty ground with a loud thump. He rolled to his side to protect the flowers with his body.
"Ouch-" he blinked away the unshed tears, maybe resting for a moment is a nice idea. So Taehyung closed his eyes for a moment to collect more power to get up and go home to his omega. Just a few minutes and he would stand up again, walking back to his castle.
But the next time he opened his eyes, he was staring into a brown ceiling instead of the clear sky. A cosy and warm blanket was covering his aching body. The prince blinked several times to adjust with his surroundings, the nice scent of firewood and chicken soup made his nose twitched.
He heard a rustling sound from outside the room, he groaned when he moved his limbs and everything was hurting, too sore to move. Taehyung sat up, leaning to the headboard behind him. He was inside a medium-sized room, the room had a fireplace, one table and two chairs near the window. He saw the blue curtains covered the window, he tilted his head a little and got a glimpse of the evening sky from the room.
Then a realization hit him, he fainted!
The little prince stood up abruptly, just to fall again to the floor and accidentally broke a glass on the nightstand when he grabbed it, trying to keep himself stable but failed.
"My prince?!" Taehyung looked up when he heard his teacher's voice, Heechul was panicking when he saw Taehyung wasn't laying on the inn's bed but then he saw a small figure near the bed's leg.
"Prince Taehyung..." He let out a heavy sigh, Taehyung grinned sheepishly and saw his brother; Yoongi, the first prince rushed to the room and his eyes found the second's prince bruised face. Yoongi gritted his teeth, face red with anger and he was so ready to end Taehyung's life.
"You!" He started with a high tone, "how could you!" but then, Hoseok stopped Yoongi from bursting out with a light tap on his shoulder. Yoongi glared to his knight, Hoseok raised his eyebrow and gestured for him to look back.
Yoongi stopped glaring when he caught sight of a certain omega.
Both of them step aside for Seokjin, Heechul left the room while grumbling about how reckless and stupid Taehyung, the prince expects the royal's tutor to scold him. Heechul said he would call the inn's owner to clean the glass shard.
Taehyung smiled widely when he saw Seokjin stepped into the room, he ran to the older man when he found his flowers in the vase. His legs were still hurting but he couldn't wait any longer for showing his present to the love of his life.
"Seokjin!" He called, grabbing the edelweiss against his chest with blushing cheeks. He approached the omega that still standing frozen before the door, his eyes sparkled with such fondness; clearly in love with the older man before him.
Seokjin wasn't really stepping in, he was still between the corridor and the room, on the doorframe, "look, Hyung! I took some edelweiss for you!" Taehyung showed him the flowers, the omega saw Taehyung's cut, the prince's face bruised and his knee scraped.
Seokjin looked down to the flowers Taehyung held, "Seokjin?" The prince tilted his head to see Seokjin's face more clearly. He pushed the flowers lightly to Seokjin's chest but the omega didn't move, his face was stoic, his jaw flexed.
So Taehyung was leaving the castle at the dawn for Seokjin, for that freaking flower he just mentioned randomly. So his beloved prince risked his own life, went without any special preparation to the mountain just for that flower. His prince got so many bruises because he mentioned the flower.
His prince went without thinking about the danger he might face, hid it from the guards so he could surprise Seokjin. His prince might die if the random merchant didn't find Taehyung's black horse and then the merchant found the young prince unconscious in the middle of the forest if the guard who coincidentally visited the inn didn't recognize their prince; Seokjin might lose Taehyung and everything happened because of his own recklessness for mentioning the flowers to Taehyung.
" .... Seokjin? Hyungie ...?" Taehyung called softly, his face changed slowly when he realized the Omega didn't reply. Seokjin was frowning, biting his lips to hold back his anger, his frustration; his eyes sharp with unshed tears as he glared to the flower Taehyung held dearly.
Seokjin looked up from the flower to Taehyung's eyes, eyes glazed with his own tears that were so ready to spill. The second prince met his personal caretaker's eyes, Taehyung dropped the flowers to the floor when Seokjin glared to him with trembling shoulders and fist clenched.
"I-I'm-" he stuttered, his body trembled from head to toes because suddenly he was so afraid. He took one step hesitatingly, halting but then continuing because he wanted to be as close as possible to Seokjin.
"I- I'm sorry," Taehyung cried, clutching his white shirt (someone changed his dirty shirt). His shoulders crunched down and his eyes brimmed with his tears, his voice shook and he wailed.
Seokjin stood still, looking down to the shorter male. Eyes examining to every visible part of Taehyung's body, he wanted to find out if the prince had more bruises or not.
"S-Seokjin-" Taehyung sobbed, wiping his snot and tears messily, "f-forgive me," he apologized, "Please don't ignore me," he cried louder, looking up like a scared little kitten.
The omega's breath hitched, he bit his lips until he tasted blood. Seokjin grabbed Taehyung's trembling hand and pulled him into his embrace. He pulled the younger wolf close to him, inhaling the immature scent he loved the most.
"NEVER," the omega said, Taehyung flinched inside his embrace but refuse to let the omega go at the same time, "never leave me again!" Seokjin sobbed. His voice cracked at the end, furious but also full of pain. Taehyung froze, he didn't expect Seokjin to say something like that.
"Never, leave the kingdom without telling me!" The omega cried, his shoulders didn't stop shaking at this point, trembling harder than Taehyung's hands, "you don't know! How's my feeling when I open your bedroom and you're not there!"
Taehyung pulled back a little, unshed tears escaped from his eyes when he saw how wrecked Seokjin looked. He noticed how the omega's eyes were red because he cried so hard or how his appearance looked messy when Seokjin always kept his looks neat and clean.
"But- But I do this for-" Taehyung tried to tell his reason, Seokjin shook his head and held Taehyung's hand tightly between them.
"I hate it!" The omega looked to their hands, head bowed down and his bangs covering his puffy eyes, "I hate it if you do reckless things for me like this!"
Taehyung stopped trying to explain and moved into Seokjin's arms once again, inhaling the immature scent of the older omega that mixed with his immature pup's scent perfectly. The second prince sobbed, basically pushing his face into the crook of Seokjin's neck, "I'm sorry," he hiccupped, "I'm wrong, I'm so sorry."
Seokjin nodded, sobbing together and embraced Taehyung tightly, refusing to let go for a while and no one has the heart to break them apart.
Now back to the time when Seokjin left the kingdom without telling Taehyung, when the omega promised to stop working in the wing side of the castle and go back to his prince's side, he left the kingdom instead of keeping the promise. Seokjin was regretting it though, that was why he chose to settle down in the small restaurant near the north gate of the kingdom.
Every kingdom has its own territory (city to rule), there are four gates to enter the city. The north gate, the east gate, the west gate, and lastly the south gate. Seokjin was still in The East Kingdom's city, he was debating with himself to really leave his town or not.
Considering the risk of Taehyung finding out that he wasn't in the castle anymore and the fact that he was already so close to leaving his home to find out the mystery of his past.
"Regretting your life choice?" The female bartender asked Seokjin with a straight face, the omega wanted to hit his head to the table because his face was so obvious.
"You look like so messy; if you're curious why I said that," the lady said with a wide grin, Seokjin chuckled and asked for another glass of beer. The woman, an omega if Seokjin wasn't wrong (judging from her scent), she smiled to him and leaned closer.
"Come on, you can tell me anything," she said with a soft smile, "should I introduce myself first?" she winked, smiling slyly.
"Good idea, that way we will be closed and I might tell you my problem," Seokjin grinned, leaning closer to the woman who pulled back from Seokjin after several seconds.
"Fine!" She huffed dramatically, "my name is Hani, and people are dying to know my name so consider yourself lucky."
Seokjin laughed, offering his hand; the omega added, "My name is Seokjin, nice to meet you Hani-ah." Hani nodded, shaking the other man's hand happily.
"Well," Seokjin began, "I think I hurt someone I love again," the omega looked down to his hands.
Honestly, Seokjin hates to be this gloomy. He is more to a cheerful person but why lately his life turned to be so dramatic and a little disgusting to his taste. He hates when people think their life is miserable and "oh-I-need-comfort-right-now" type of human.
The Omega had always tried to show his bright side but sadly he also has a dark side no matter how hard he tried to be okay.
In fact, he despised it when the dark side made him looked pathetic. He dislikes the idea of weak and fragile omega that should be protected 24/7. He wanted to be the extraordinary one who can stand by himself proudly. That's the only way he could think to be a little worthy to stand beside Taehyung.
"Hurt someone you love?" Hani repeated, responding as polite as she could, Seokjin nodded his head. He drank his beer, the evening sun looked so beautiful from the back window not so far away from them.
"I hurt him, a lot," he rubbed his face harshly, covering his face due to the embarrassment.
"Why did you hurt him?" she wiped the table with a dirty mop, clean some glass from tiny dust.
"I left him without saying a word," he explained.
Hani irked, "and the reason is?"
"Because I don't want to involve him with something dangerous, I don't want him to do something reckless and stupid because of me," Seokjin complained half-heartedly.
"What about his opinions?" she encountered, "do you ever ask his opinions first?"
Seokjin gazed at his entwined fingers, "You're an egoist you know that Jinnie?" Hani teased, "You don't want to be the reason your beloved hurting but now you're killing him softly by leaving him with no explanations, this is worse you know that."
"You're not helping, Hani," Seokjin felt more awful than before and the woman smiled, "you poured salt to my wound."
"I know, I changed my mind and now I want to make you feel guiltier and miserable," she confessed honestly, "you can't just decide something that affects your relationship one-sidedly and what you have done makes you a jerk, a total jerk I love to punch."
Seokjin gulped, she was right. Taehyung already said how much he loves the omega but Seokjin still acted egotistically, "you can't decide what you want for him, he can do anything if he wants to help you. The only thing you can do is talk to him, tell him you're not comfortable if he does something stupid for you."
He knew he was being unfair and he really needed someone to slap it right to his face, Hani did it for him. Yoongi had been telling him the exact same thing, he just needed a total stranger to strengthen the statement.
"Go and apologise, if he really loves you; I believe he will listen and then you can find out the right way to take care your problem," Hani grinned, patting Seokjin's head gently when the other man looked so ready to burst into tears.
"Yes," Seokjin stood up, he took a deep breath. He looked to the window, the sun was setting but if he goes back now he could still arrive at the castle at the night and he could lie about the reason why he wasn't in the kingdom for the entire day if Taehyung asks.
"I will go back then, thank you, Hani!" The woman gave a salute before going back to clean the wine glass while Seokjin ran to the exit, back to his horse in the small stable located in the back of the restaurant.
He took his bag, fixing his cloak and get ready to go back until someone called him, shouted his name to be exact.
"KIM SEOKJIN!"
The omega flinched, jerked away from his place when he heard a familiar deep voice but this time laced with anger. He saw someone on the horse, face furious with eyes glaring at him like throwing daggers. Taehyung got down from his horse, Seokjin stepped back in instinct.
'Oh shit'
He gulped down, already guessing what happened according to Taehyung's expression. His prince wasn't at his best mood and welp, Seokjin screwed up. Cold sweat ran down from his spine when Taehyung walked closer to him.
"T-Taehyung?" He stuttered, fighting with his own omega who was begging for him to get to his knees and beg for forgiveness, "what are you doing in here?" he tried to sound innocent.
Taehyung tied his horse's reins to the wood where Seokjin tied his horse's reins. He stood before the nervous omega, the older man suddenly felt so small compared to the younger man. The black-haired man looked to the ground, too scared to look up to his alpha.
"What I'm doing in here?" Taehyung squinted his eyes, eyes racking up and down, watching Seokjin from head to toes, "you ask me what I'm doing here?!" Seokjin was aware of how angry Taehyung was, his hands clenched into fists and his hands were trembling to hold back himself from exploding.
Seokjin flinched, shutting his eyes in instinct when Taehyung closed the gap between them with angry steps. He was so ready with Taehyung getting angry at him, blurring words he refused to imagine; he deserved it after all.
Then, a pair of strong arms embraced him tightly and the rich scent of dark chocolate and expensive tea engulfed Seokjin. The mature alpha scent he couldn't reject because his omega simply yearned for the other's comforting scent so badly.
Seokjin could feel his heart stopped for a moment, shocked. Soon after, his eyes watered and his heart throbbed, punching his ribs like it was ready to jump out from his ribcage, "Taetae ..." he whispered underneath his breath.
Taehyung gritted his teeth, "Seokjin-Hyung," he growled lowly, he was hugging Seokjin's waist as tightly as he would like the black-haired man was planning to crush his bones.
The hug was uncomfortable, Seokjin whimpered and Taehyung still didn't loosen up his embrace, the omega decided to tug his alpha's hair lightly and mumbled, "You're hurting me," and Taehyung immediately loosened up his arms but not enough for Seokjin to escape from him.
Seokjin leaned back a little, taking a glance of Taehyung's teary eyes. He saw a lot of mixed feelings from Taehyung's cobalt blue eyes, his alpha was in alert just like Seokjin's omega; his crimson eyes were the proof.
Anger,
Sorrow,
Betrayed,
Madness,
And lastly, relief.
Seokjin let out a shaky breath, "I really don't deserve your love, you know that?" he shook in disbelief, Taehyung rested his head on the older man's shoulder. He rubbed his own scent gland to Seokjin, erasing the scent blocker Seokjin out on himself to hide the fact that he is an omega.
Taehyung frown got deeper and he growled, "damn right," Seokjin laughed and hugged the younger man back. The body went a little hot as Taehyung kept rubbing their scent gland against each other, the alpha was making his presence visible on the omega's body.
"I actually about to turn back to the castle," Seokjin confessed, the alpha's body tensed. The omega saw the younger man's jaw flexed. Taehyung was indeed so angry about this problem, about Seokjin leaving him again.
"I'm sorry," Seokjin apologized, he buried his head to the crook of Taehyung's neck, nosing the sensitive skin of the alpha and made the younger man's body relax a little bit. Seokjin lifted his face once again, looking straight to his alpha's eyes and vowed to finally; let go all of his barriers.
"Forgive me," he kissed Taehyung's lips lightly, "please ..."
"You moron," Taehyung hissed, pulling Seokjin close and kissed him again, this time more passionate than Seokjin's chaste kiss. The kiss was so desperate, Seokjin flinched when Taehyung bit his bottom lips and licked the cut harshly.
He understood how upset Taehyung was and he couldn't help but be aware of the fact that he is important to the other male.
Seokjin is important for Prince Taehyung, the useless omega is the prince's most precious treasure.
"I told you that I will never let you escape again," Taehyung breathed out, kissing Seokjin's jawline and then going down to the omega's neck. He pulled down Seokjin's shirt and revealed the still-red mating mark he left, he licked the mating mark and kissed it gently.
Seokjin flinched, shuddering when Taehyung bit him lightly right on the mark he left, "I will never let you go, no matter how much you push me or leave me away; I'm not kidding, Kim Seokjin."
The omega nodded, leaned closer to his alpha and let out a relieved sigh. Chuckling when Taehyung mentioned one thousand and one way to lock or tie him down, it sounded scary and creepy but he knew the alpha wouldn't do that since he didn't plan to leave Taehyung again.
He was too lucky to have Taehyung as his mate, he couldn't understand why Taehyung loved him this much and he would never understand.
"I can explain," He pulled back a little, meeting Taehyung's eyes, "this time I will explain," he averted his eyes. This wouldn't be easy for him and he wasn't sure he could open up at once, explaining his dark past all at once.
Seokjin was afraid to open up, to show Taehyung the other side of him he desperately tried to bury or even erase before, the Kim Seokjin from his past who got tortured and raped.
The black-haired alpha might hate him after this, Taehyung might throw him away with a disgusted face and that thought made him want to cry again but he decided to trust Taehyung and reveal himself.
"I will tell you why I left the kingdom."
"I will tell you about my clan, my father, my mom, and my people."
"My past."

A/N :
The story is going in a really slow pace and I'm so sorry, I hope this story doesn't become too boring to your liking. This story is a little hard for me since the storyline has a kingdom setting, medieval era and even though I'm a Merlin fans, it's still hard--I tried my best to make it original, according to the idea inside my mind and it's a little hard to mix it with European middle-ages set. But I really hope you all enjoy this story! Thank you so much for your support! I'm so happy when people ask me to update because that's mean you're curious about this story! (Guess I will explain how Taetae found Jin in the next chapter :D)
