(Lucy POV)

"I can't believe it! We are free," I told the dragons, they roared in agreement.

"How long have you been there?" The fat man and the skinny man asked, if I remembered correctly, they were the ones fighting about Levy. They have been very quiet lately. I had thought that something happened to them.

"I don't really know, maybe a year or two," I told the two. I released a deep sigh, "But it feels like it has been so much longer than that." I started to walk up the stairs out of the room with the cells, my keys in hand. There was no way I am going to put them in that fish smelling bag, Aquarius would kill me, even if she is being nice right now. I walked down the hallway, the larger dragons struggling to get out of the doorway until Gajeel showed them how to get out the door. Sting, Rouge, and Wendy followed after them, then Kinana along with the mages followed. We walked through the house until we reached the front room, small streams of light came from the boarded-up windows. I approached the door and pulled the door open, light flooded through the doorway blinding me momentarily. 

When I could see it again, I walked outside. For the first time in what feels like years, I saw the sun and felt the grass rub against my feet. I looked at Gajeel and Wendy, is this what it felt like when they first got out of this place, I watched the sun shine off of Gajeel's scales and Wendy smelled the grass. I looked at the others and I could see each of Rouge's scales in the sunlight. Natsu stood there in the field spreading his wings out wide for the first time since he was chained. Static electricity came off of Laxus's mane as he shook head around wildly, Sting was rolling around in the green grass staining his white scales with green stains, Cobra was sitting in the grass with his eyes closed listening to the surrounding sounds and thoughts, his long body stretched out in the sun.

"How does it feel to be out?" Levy asked me, I turned around and gave her my biggest smile.

"It feels amazing, it has been so long since I have seen the sun and felt the grass," I told her, falling down and laying on the grass making grass angels to prove my point.

"What are you going to do now?" the old man asked, I turned and looked at him and then started listing my thoughts.

"First, we're going to head to the parent pack, and tell Igneel and the other dragons there that we are okay. Then we are going to find Happy and the other Exceeds," I told him, I wasn't going to tell him that we are going to head to Fairy Tail for Laxus.

"Happy?" Juvia asked me, "Is he a blue cat that can fly and talk?"

"Yes, do you know him?" I asked her excitedly.

"Yes, he and another flying cat named Carla live with a boy named Romeo in Magnolia, where Fairy Tail is located. Juvia remembers him because he once asked Juvia to use her magic to get fish out of the canal for him to eat." Juvia told us. Yep, that sounds like Happy alright. 

When Carla's name was mentioned, Wendy quickly turned her head in Juvia's direction and started to squawk questions to the water mage about the health of Carla and the other Exceeds. Of course, Juvia couldn't understand the young dragonling and she was scared out of her mind at Wendy's sudden change in attitude until I translated Wendy's questions.

Author's realization-

After reading back on the other chapters, I realized that I made it so that Cobra was always a dragon, but I am going to change that so that he has been an artificial dragon since the people that implanted him with the dragon lacrima killed his parents, which was before he could remember, so he always thought he was always a dragon until Natsu and the others pointed it out, so it isn't much of a difference.

(Lucy POV)

"Are Pantherlily, Frosh, and Lector there as well?" I asked Juvia.

"Lily lives with me at my house," Levy told me, Gajeel just about tackled the small woman when he heard that. He pulled the little fairy to the ground, hugging her, saying things like "Thank you for taking care of my cat," and the like.

"Gajeel get off of the poor girl, you don't want to suffocate her now, do you," I told the 'so not crying' dragon and he removed himself from her.

"And what about the others, Lector and Frosh?" I asked Levy.

"Yukino and Sorano take care of Lector, and Kagura let's Frosh live with her," Levy told me, and I swear that I saw tears come out of Rouge's eyes.

"Does Frosh get lost often?" I asked her.

"Every time Kagura or Lector take their eyes off of them," Levy explained, "They scare Kagura and Lector to death every time they do that."

"Frosh hasn't changed a bit," I said while laughing, "They are always worrying Rouge when they wander off."

"So, what are you going to do, Kinana?" I heard Makarov ask Kinana.

"I am going to go back to Fairy Tail to tie up some loose ends in Magnolia and say goodbye to the guild," Kinana told him.

"So, you are not going to stay?" the old man asked her.

"Now that Erik is free, I will follow him wherever he goes," Kinana explained to the small man, if only she knew of our plans to go to Fairy Tail after saying hello to Igneel and the other dragons of the parent pack.

"Well, we better get going Natsu, now that we are free. Let's not worry your father and the others any longer than we already have," I told Natsu, I told the other dragons to get ready to fly and we took off, heading to the mountains.

(Kinana POV)

I looked at Master and the others as we walked to the station, Erza had gone off to tell their client from this mission that they had finished and collect the reward.

"Why didn't you tell us that you had once been a part of a dragon pack? How is that even possible?" Gray asked me.

"Well, I met Erik when I was fleeing a pack of wolves while I was training with a new Naga soul transformation, it was actually the one that I was cursed in. I was young and I thought that I could escape the wolves in the swamps," I explained as I told them the story of when I met Erik.

Flashback

I was breathing heavily as the wolves were starting to catch up to me, then I tripped on a root in the mud. I saw one of the wolves jump to attack me, I closed my eyes expecting the sharp fangs of the wolves to tear me to shreds, but it never came. I heard a loud hiss and I opened my eyes to see the wolves flee with their tails between their legs running from the body of their fallen comrade. I heard the hiss again and I turned to see a large snake like dragon looming over me.

"Are you okay?" The dragon asked me, I nodded my head, and looked into his purple eyes as they started to glow. I held my hand out and touched his maroon scales.

Flashback End

I finished telling them my story, by this time Erza had returned to listen to the story.

"How did you become part of the dragon pack?" Erza asked me.

"Well, I was Erik's mate so I was automatically accepted as part of the pack the moment Erik joined," I told her.

"Mate?" Droy asked me.

"I love Erik so I am his wife in dragon terms," I explained.

"So that is why you kicked that rich guy in the uhhh, special place, when he said that he was going to take you away and marry you," Levy asked me.

"Well, that's one of the reasons, the other reason is that he was creepy, you didn't hear what he said to me when I met him outside of the guild. He acted like I was something to be bought and paraded around like a trophy." I told her, 'And his thoughts of me weren't any better.' I said internally. "Plus, I didn't just kick him, I used some of Erik's acidic poison to cause some more lasting pain, he deserved it. I heard what he had about snakes and dragons, he hated them and even that is putting it lightly." I saw the men of the group wince when I mentioned acid poison.

"Why do you call him Erik, Lucy called him Cobra?" Erza asked me.

"Well Erik is his birth name; he didn't know his real name until I helped him find out after Natsu and the rest of the pack had revealed to him that he was an artificial dragon. Until then he just called himself Cobra so that is how he likes to be addressed to by others, I am the only exception to that rule though," I told her, then I heard the whistle of the train, "Let's get going the train is here."

How is that, I liked the bit I did about Kinana kicking that man, that is how protective a mate is for their other half, to the point of changing their personality to protect them.
