My eyebrows pulled together.

"Your mother was supposed to marry Doflamingo-ya?" I asked. Aka nodded.

"She just finished med school and grandpa told her that she'd never use it. She was sent to Kuroshi, where we met, to meet Uncle Doflamingo. Uncle fell head over heels in love with mom at first sight. But mom hated him from the day they met. But she and dad loved each other from the start." She explained.

"Remember back at my graduation? When Uncle said that the arranged marriage for me and Bellamy was "my duty as a Donquixote" and "since my father refused to follow tradition"? That's what he meant. And why Uncle Doffy never married. He was supposed to marry mom while dad was supposed to marry some other woman. Mom and dad ran away and eloped. Then had me." Aka said. She sighed and stared down at her lap.

"And... from what I saw in his office that one day... according to "tradition" if one brother died and they had no children, then the bride would marry the other brother. I think Uncle always knew where mom was. And him marrying me off to Bellamy was his way to get her. Bellamy would beat me to death, Uncle would find mom and mom wouldn't have a choice. Even if Whitebeard defended her." Aka sighed and turned her attention to the ceiling.

I stood up and picked her up bridal style, then sat down with her in my lap. I wrapped my arms around her waist and held her close to me. She looked at me with tears in her eyes.

"I won't let that happen. And I'm sure that should anything happen we can call on the Revolutionaries to help us out again. After all, we have Dawn-ya, Sabo-ya and Ginger-ya in our contacts." I said. She smiled at me as the tears peaked and ran down her cheeks. I reached up and brushed them away.

"Don't cry, Aka-ya. You look more beautiful when you smile." I said. I pulled her head down and kissed her.

"I love you." She said. I smiled and stroked her cheek.

"I love you, too, Aka-ya. With all of my heart." I said. She buried her face in my neck and I held her tight. There was a knock at the door. I sighed as Aka climbed off my lap. I stood up.

"I've got it this time, love." I said. I walked over to the door and answered it. Shachi stood there with a bright grin and a leashed Bepo.

"Captain!" He cheered in greeting. I scowled at him.

"Did I do something wrong?" He asked.

"Bark! Bork!" Bepo barked excitedly.

"Is that my buddy Bepo?! Come here, boy!" Aka called. Shachi released Bepo from his leash and the dog ran to Aka.
Aka immediately began to pet the dog.

"Oh, who's a good boy?" She asked as she rubbed him. I let Shachi in the house.

"By the way, Aka-chan. Why did you get home before Captain and why didn't you have your key?" Shachi asked.

"What do you mean, Shachi? I came home at 5:00am with Law." She said.

"Then... who was that woman at 10:00 last night?" He asked.

"You let a stranger in my house thinking she was my girlfriend?" I asked. Shachi swollowed hard.

"Ho-hold on, Law! It was an honest mistake! She wore her hair the same way and her eyes were the same! Her voice sounded similar to Aka-chan's though it was more proper, but anyway-" Shachi's panic was cut off by Aka's giggle.

"It's okay, Shachi. The woman you let in was my mother. It's alright. Law is just playing bitter." She said. I rolled my eyes.

"Couldn't let me scare him a little more?" I asked. Aka cocked an eyebrow at me.

"Be nice." She scolded. I smirked and walked over to her and kissed her cheek.

"Of course, dear." I said. She rolled her eyes at me with a playful smirk and she and Bepo returned to the other room. I turned back to Shachi and crossed my arms, leaning against the counter. Shachi practically jumped out of his skin.

"So...." I said. He swollowed hard.

"Do you want to be my best man?" I asked. He stared at me.

"What?" He asked.

"Are you really going to make me repeat my self, Shachi-ya?" I asked.

"Captain Law." He said. I looked back over to him. He grinned at me brightly.

"Of course I'll be your best man!" He yelled, jumping on me in attempts to hug me.

"Oi! Get off! And calm down before I change my mind and make the dog the best man!" I said, pushing him away. He left to return home and I walked in to the living room. Aka lounged on the couch, watching something on TV with Bepo lying by her feet. She chuckled when she saw me enter the room.

"I take it he wasn't opposed to the idea?" She asked.

"To say the least." I grumbled. She giggled at me. I smirked and leaned over her, placing my knee by her hip and wrapping my arm around her waist and pulled her closer to me.

"Is something funny, Aka-ya?" I hummed to her. She smiled and wrapped her arms around my shoulders.

"Just the fact that my tall, dark and mysterious fiancé is so cute." She giggled to me and pressed a firm kiss to my lips. I chuckled in to the kiss and wrapped my other arm around her waist and leaned in to her more. I parted and gazed down at her lovingly.

"I love you, Law." She said. I smiled and kissed her head.

"I love you, too, Aka-ya. More than anything in the world." I said.

"Brk!" I reached over and rubbed Bepo's head.

"We love you, too, Bepo-ya." I said. The dog jumped up and nuzzled in to me, making Aka laugh. She leaned against me and rubbed Bepo's head. Bepo wagged his tail happily. I heard Aka sigh.

"Hm? Is something wrong, Aka-ya?" I asked. She shook her head.

"I just want to stay like this, forever. Everything right now is just... perfect." She sighed. Bepo moved over and licked her cheek. She giggled and rubbed his head. I curled my finger under her chin and made her look up at me.

"Aka-ya, I promise that I will try to make everything perfect in our marriage." I said. She smiled.

"Don't try to force anything too rediculous, Law. Everything is perfect when you're just you." She said. I leaned down and kissed her softly. I moved away from her lips and pressed little butterfly kisses to her cheeks and neck. She leaned her head against my shoulder.

"You are my whole world." I said.

"I love you, so much." She said. I felt a nudge on my arm. I looked over and saw Bepo standing there with his tail wagging viciously.

"If you're expecting me to pull out the ring, I'll have you know I already proposed to her at Ace-ya and Aoi-ya's wedding." I said. Bepo whined at me.

"What? At least she said yes." I said. Aka giggled and rubbed on Bepo's head.

"Awwww, Bepo! Did you want to be there when Law proposed?" Aka cooed to the dog. Bepo whined. Aka hugged him.

"Awww! You're such a sweetie! Don't worry, you can be at the wedding!" She said.

"Aka-ya.." I started. She looked up at me.

"Oh, alright. I suppose it wouldn't hurt. As long as you behave." I said.

"Bork!" Bepo barked happily.

"Inside voice." Aka and I said together.

"Brk! Brk!" Bepo let out a muffled bark.

RT_Strawhat_Ninja: yeah, the city Kuroshi is one I made up. It just means "Black City" in Japanese. Just so you know.
