10. Bliss

Dating Adrien was both exactly like she imagined and not what she expected at the same time. She should've seen the media coming, but she really couldn't care less at this point. Adrien pretty much spoiled her. She protested everytime he gave her something expensive, but he just held it in front of her until she took it.

"Take it."

"Adrien, no. I can't take this. I—"

"Come on, let me give you things. I have all this money and nothing to spend it on."

And then he'd give her these ridiculously adorable kitten eyes that she couldn't possibly resist. She still couldn't resist the baby doll eyes from Manon, despite the fact that she was a teenager now, so it's really no wonder she caved for her boyfriend.

When she told Alya this, she just cackled until she was on the floor and Marinette was scowling at her from the other side of the screen.

"Girl, you've got it bad," Alya said, drawing out the 'a'. She caught her breath and managed to pull herself back up into her chair. "That's the funniest thing I've heard in a while."

Chloé's reaction was hardly any different than Alya's, but she couldn't fall to the ground because she was working. "You're hopeless," she said, rolling her eyes and smirking. "Utterly hopeless."

"Thanks a lot, Chloé. I really appreciate it."

Apparently her blank look and dry words were the highlight of Chloé's day, because she was told that she spent the rest of the day silently laughing to herself.

Tikki wasn't much help either. Marinette could hear her giggling from inside her purse more often than not.

Other than the fact that Adrien spoiled her a ridiculous amount and more people would point and stare on the streets, Marinette was on top of the world. Not even Hawkmoth's increasing akuma attacks could bring her down from her high for long. Apparently it made her fight better too, since Chat commented that she had improved in a weirdly shot time span, despite the fact that she was a superhero.

Surprisingly, Gabriel didn't really have much to say about the matter. She had expected him to sneer at her or say that Adrien shouldn't be dating someone of a low status like her, but he just told her that she shouldn't expect any special treatment just because she was dating his son. Marinette was certain that she had held her breath for the entire encounter, and the tension left her body once he was gone was a huge relief to get rid of.

Adrien didn't help ease her nerves. He just smirked at her and laughed when she elbowed him in the ribs.
