I had to contain my laugh at his sudden outburst. He is just so lost and confused, he is having trouble to decide which behavior to use. Ace stood there glaring at me, only once he looked at Uncle Danielle.

My uncle stood there looking pretty uncomfortable hearing our pointless argument. Clearly overwhelmed with my sudden appearance, everyone thinks I am dead. And no one from my father's kingdom knows about Ace, which is for the best if it stays that way for a while.

"We need to talk." Uncle's voice never changed, the seriousness of his voice evident. I took a deep sigh.

I know the topic he is about to speak with me, and from what I can sense, it isn't going to end well. Which will clearly ruin my first day of arrival here.

I wouldn't mind explaining everything to Ace. However, his ability to comprehend all of the information is weak, due to his awareness of age. I am not ready to ruin is imagination nor am I willing to risk his life for my sake.

As we walk, my uncle tries and break the ice wall Ace is creating. Ace can be stubborn, much like my mom, and it never came out handy. I just don't understand why he can't just accept a new family member.

You are seriously a moron, Adelaide.

You are suppose to help me move forward, not making me feel down!

After all this time, you come back to Uncle Danielle?! Why couldn't you go to him in the first place! Why now? You don't make any sense! We have been living in poverty! And you aren't in good shape either!

You told me to do it!

You are a hybrid! You are suppose to make a difference in this world! Not isolate yourself from it!

Hazel, what is the meaning of all this?!

I'll tell you a plan, and you are forced to go through it.

You exactly know why I came back here! Imagine if I went back when I was a kid! Who knew if they would have used me and I didn't know about their plans?! Besides, the waitress back then took good care of us as if we were her own children.

"Adelaide, snap out of it!" My brother started making faces in order to gain my attention. My thoughts are everywhere. I've been distracted by them ever since our argument, which was few hours ago.

We had lunch and refreshed our self. I am currently outside the pack house waiting for my uncle to start our discussion.

"Why don't you try and make some friends here. It is a way to start a new beginning." I tell him, a bit tired.

"You mean we are staying here?!" He says that as he freaks, which confuses me. He was the one who wanted me to help him build friendship and start a normal life.

Let me remind you, he is new to this.

I hesitate, whether or not should I tell him about my 'surprise'.

"I'll tell you your surprise later. Just go and have some fun, your surprise is tonight." I smile at him as I recall the image of the house. I pretty sure am more excited than he is.

He nodded eagerly and left off running, trying to find someone to socialize with.

"I brought you some tea." I gave a small smile as I took the cup from him, thanking him in the process.

We both say nothing as we stare at the sunset, enjoying the bit of silence.

"You have grown so much." He suddenly broke the silence I was once enjoying.

"How was it like, to be responsible?" The question made my heart ache, and not because I was afraid to answer it. I didn't want to share my pain with anyone, even with my uncle. No one was with me when I had to grow up at a such young age, they all left.

"I'd rather not talk about that. What is it that you wanted to talk with me about?" If he decides to talk about it, it won't end well. And by 'it', I mean my past.

"You have to go back to the kingdom. Your people have no one, no one to rule them. And it isn't long before he shows up again. He has been healing himself all this time. You must go before it is too late." He spoke to me dead in the eye. His dark brown eyes never leaving my eyes, watching every movement and every reaction.

"If I went, I am putting the kingdom at risk. He will know he hasn't finished his work, and will cause more problem." I narrowed my eyes back," I won't play dangerous cards and put Ace at risk."

"You can't hide. Soon everyone will know you aren't actually dead."

I don't get it! He changed his attitude so fast! Our first meeting, he had tears in his eyes. But now?! He is speaking to me as if I am not a part of his lost family! His sister and her mate died! And he isn't going to try and protect me under his wing?!

I won't let anyone's word fool me. I've been living on my own, and I have experience. I know what is best for us.

"I only came here so that Ace could go to school. We will be living in mom's cottage." I turn my back and begin to walk away.

"Can you please listen to what I still have to stay? I can explain" I stop dead in my tracks. He has one chance, and his chance to win in this argument is slim.

"We looked for you, okay? We tried our best. We flipped this world just to look for you! For the goddess' sake, I went to the Alpha King just to help me find you. I needed to know if you were still alive. First two years after the incident, I had hope. Hope to find both of you. I got a call from the King that he wouldn't help us, after he knew you were half of-" A man with blonde hair and dark eyes came in the view. He nodded his head for his alpha and asked him to see a situation in the dungeon. Too bad I can't ask him. I needed to know if my mom's savings are still present. She had her own money making before she left with my dad to join him and his kingdom, so I'll gladly take it for Ace's school stuff.

I already feel like a mom.

"We will continue the talk. I am determined to change your mind. Remember, even if you lost loved ones, it's your job to save others. I may sound harsh and selfish, but you are special. I'll let a member hand you the key. See you around, munchy." He gave me a quick hug before he rushed with the young boy.

He did not just call you that.

I can't believe he still remembers that ridiculous nickname.

Munchy... Hazel grinned, oh so evilly.

Don't.

As I look over to were Ace is playing, I overthink and replay the scene that just happened.

It's been few hours since the little meet up, it's the only thing that is on my mind now. I keep putting myself in situations I didn't intend to do. Thus where I am now.

From afar, I see Ace making few friends. He has this wild smile on his face as they play football together. Seeing him this happy amazes me, makes me believe I am on the right track. It makes me believe that all my hard work is paying off.

After the finishing game, Ace bid his goodbyes as some of his new friends left to their homes, listening to their parents.

Ace saw a girl around his age picking flowers, with a cute smile onto her face. He met my eyes as he smiled awkwardly at me. I gestured for him to speak with the girl as I have a small smile.

He had his eyes wide and a small blush creeping its way to his face. I quickly placed my palm over my mouth to attempt and try hiding the laugh.

Netherless, he went and sat beside her, catching her attention. The girl had short brown hair and dark eyes with light skin. She looked adorable in that pink dress of hers.

Their conversation ended shortly. I saw Ace running towards me with his smile, few flowers in hand, and his wild curls flying behind him.

"Those are for you! I promise there aren't any bugs in them." He laughed as he handed me the flowers. My heart ached at his kindness as I accepted them. I smiled and messed his already messy hair.

"Addy!! You didn't have to creep at me." He playfully glared.

This young man is speaking older than his age. Hazel commented.

"I wasn't creeping, I was observing you. Now tell me how did it go?" I asked excitedly.

Pretty sure you look more excited to know than he is telling you. She rolled her eyes.

Shut up, wolf.

"I made some friends! We played soccer and tag! I even played with the beta's son!! They were all nice! A kid even invited me to dinner." He said all at once.

"Ace, breathe." I laughed at his behavior.

"Are we going?" He asked after taking few more breaths.

Hazel, what do you say?

I mean I don't see any harm. But he just met him.

Well, we go. This way I can meet his mother and speak to her about schools and stuff. We don't have food in the cottage anyways.

After we agreed, I gave a shower to Ace in the pack house and went to his friend's house, which was close to the pack house.

Fortunately, they welcomed us and the house was a medium size. It had beautiful decors and antiques. They had three children, the youngest happens to be Ace's friend. His name is Mike. Mike looked much like his mom, but he had few noticeable features taken from his dad.

They looked like a one big happy family...

I was motioned to sit on a couch in the living room while Ace and Mike play upstairs. After settling down, the mother took time and take my appearance.

"You have lovely red hair! Your brother looks so similar!! It's adorable!!" She squealed, adoration in her hazel eyes.

I smiled warmly and politely at her,"I get that a lot."

After a few conversations she asked,"are you visiting your relatives here?"

Tell her the truth, Danielle won't hide us from his pack.

You're right.

"Actually I am Alpha Danielle's niece." I mentioned, waiting for the shock of her life.

"Are you sure? Alpha Danielle doesn't have any sibling, other than-" 

"Samantha Anderson. My mom."

We didn't stay long at the Benjamin household. I didn't want it to be more awkward than it already was when I blurted out my deceased mother's name. Not the best decision but they were kindly enough to keep it a secret until my uncle announces it. Right now, I am walking towards the cottage. Ace is excited to see what I have for him.

"Close your eyes." I said as I smiled widely.

"Last time I was in this situation, a bird pooped at my head." He face-palmed.

"Okay fine." I said as I walked the last few steps, clearing the view.

"Wow! Is this the place we are staying in?" He had hope in his eyes as he looked at the house.

"Do you know what's special about this house?"

"You rented it last minute?" He laughed.

"You little- you know what. I might cancel it all." I crossed my hands over my chest, immediately regretting it.

"What?! No!! Please! I am sorry." He came hugging my legs.

"I'm kidding!! This place was mom and dad's place. We always spent time in our vacations here." I explained.

"Wow really?! Why didn't you say so?!" He quickly ran to the front of the house.

I took a deep breath before unlocking the door with my shaky hands. This house brought so many memories, but it also brought vague ones.

It was dark. Everything was left the same, untouched.

Ace took the time to see the photos that where hanging on the wall. He had a small smile on his face as he kept staring at each photo and fixing his gaze at our parents' faces.

"So when you tell that we look alike, just like dad, you weren't lying," he faced me," Addy! We look exactly like him! Man, I am Alexander Arrows Junior." Even if he had wide eyes, I could see he was actually happy about it.

I laughed at his behavior. It was the first time he sees our parents' appearances, so his emotions are everywhere.

"Let's get ready for bed." I gave him a small push towards the bedrooms.

"Oh and Addy?"

"Mhm?"

"I acted being sorry, I knew you could never cancel everything you did." He laughed as he escaped from my arms, laughing all the way.

Hello! I hope you are having a wonderful day! I'll keep this brief, I haven't been really inspired to write this past few weeks, but now I am finally feeling it again. I am also hoping that when I start writing again, my energy boosts back up. 

For this chapter, there are so many things left unknown, but as I said, chapter 5 has all the secrets.
