It had been a few days and I found myself walking on the beach. Slightly hoping I'd see Paul again and maybe Embry even.

"Eve" a familiar voice said

I turned around and smiled softly then walked over to Embry. Jared, Paul, Sam and an unknown women sat in a blanket laughing.

"Em" i smiled softly

"Come join us I want you to meet everyone" he said and held out his hand

When I put mine in his I immediately let go and hissed softly. As if a spark went through me telling me he wasn't the person I should be touching. He looked at me confused then looked at the group ahead. His eyes widened when he realized something then he stormed off anger clear in his form.

"Embry" I called

"Let him go, he'll be alright" a female voice said

I turned around to see a women standing behind me with a scar down her face.

"I'm Emily this is Jared, you know same and that's Paul" she stated

I nodded and when my eyes met Paul's I got lost in them once more. He smirked at me and I blushed softly having not felt this way in a long ass time. Although even this felt different it felt powerful and better. I felt safer with them then anything or anyone in my life. I found myself walking closer and sitting next to them all.

"So eve is it?" Emily asked

"That's a nickname my full name is Evelyn" I said

"So Evie, tell us about yourself" Paul said causing me to giggle at the nickname

"Not much to tell, my sister and I are the daughters of a police chief, life has been a struggle especially recently but I used to play a lot of sports and rebuild cars and stuff all the time but haven't in a long time" I found myself telling them everything

Without major details of course like vampires and what my scars were from. But I found myself getting closer and closer to Paul. Until he had wrapped and arm around me and I leaned into his touch. We sat there and hung out for hours laughing and smiling. I felt alive for the first time in the longest of times and it was thanks to Paul.

A week later later

Bella has gone to back to being skeptical with me. So I have been ignoring her as she went and hung out with Jake. So where am I now you ask with Paul on the beach. Although by the look on his he's going to tell me something I don't want to hear. I had been the happiest I've been in years the past week and he's going to devastate me I know it.

"Evelyn I" he began

"Let me guess this has to end doesn't it, you don't want to be friends anymore is that it" i said softly

"Eve you have to understand" he began

"Just stop I should have known" I said and began to walk off
