Ginger Sweep
As for the song, no one is breaking up don't worry, BUT LISTEN BECAUSE IT DESERVES YOUR ATTENTION!!!
Moon Granger stared at herself in the mirror. She was wearing a black dress with a ruby red bead necklace. She had also adorned her ears with rose earrings. She gently brushed her hair again. She turned and took a deep breath. C'mon self! If you can't manage this there's no way you'll go to the actual dance! She finally managed to exit the Ravenclaw common rooms and headed for Gryffindor tower. She headed up the steps of the staircase and approached the fat lady portrait. Ron had told her the password, so of course she entered with ease. In the Gryffindor common rooms Hermione sat at a table, with multiple books splayed out.
"Hey sis, are the boys still in their dorm?" Moon asked. "Yeah." Hermione replied, flipping a page of her book. Moon left to open the door to their dorm room when Hermione stood rather quickly. "Wait why are you talking to them?" She asked swiftly. "Uhh cuz they're my friends? Why are you studying?" Moon asked, her eyebrows raised. Hermione huffed. "Well it's just weird." She replied. "Okay..." Moon rolled her eyes and knocked. There was a moments pause and she heard someone shouting. Then Harry opened the door, trying to cover anything going on behind him. "Hey Harry, is Ron ready to go?" She inquired.
Harry turned around and talked to the other boys, paused, then turned back to Moon. "He says he'll be out in a minute." "Is there anything he needs?" She asked, trying to look past Harry but he was too tall. He turned and asked Ron the same thing. Moon huffed and pushed Harry backwards, he stumbled but regained his balance quickly. And there, in the middle of the room was Ron. Bedsheets and clothes were thrown all over the room. Seamus, Neville, and Dean were sitting in a corner of the room, sighing. Ron's face fell, he looked very distressed. "Ron, is something wrong?" She asked. He sighed heavily. "I lost my hairbrush." She couldn't help but giggle. "That's why you're so stressed?" She asked.
His face flushed. "Yeah..." she approached him and cupped his face in her hands. "Ron I've got a couple extra hairbrushes I never use. You can borrow one. It's fine." "Thanks." He muttered. The two headed off to the Great Hall. People already flooded the hall, talking and practicing dancing. "Well uh.." Ron's face was flushed and he itched the back of his head nervously. Just then, as if to save this awkward moment from down falling, the twins walked up. "Hello Moon," George smirked, holding a glass of something..hopefully non-alcoholic. "Oh and who is this dashing ginger I see?" Fred asked, looking at Ron teasingly. "He got it from us." George replied, grinning. Moon giggled.
"Your parents are where he got it." She replied, calming herself. "Oh not the hair dear Granger," Fred started, smirking at his brother. George fixed his brother's tie. "The dashing looks." They said in sync. Ron glared at his brothers. "Did not, it's my own thing." He replied. "That's rather prideful, for you to call yourself dashing." George noted, shaking his head disapprovingly. "Seriously, seems like an ego issue." Fred agreed, forcing his face into a somber frown. "But you just-" "Bye brother!" The twins waved and jogged off. Ron sighed. "Aw Ron don't let them pull you down." Moon said, trying not to laugh. He shook his head.
"I know I shouldn't, they're just so weird." She giggled. "Oh yes, they are. But aren't you glad they're your older brothers? I mean, it could've been Malfoy." Ron cringed at the thought. "Thanks but no thanks. That's something I'm glad I missed out on." "Hey you two." Harry walked up. He was dressed up just as Ron was. "Where's Mione?" Moon inquired. Harry rolled his eyes at this. "She's studying." He replied. "Seriously?" Ron asked, knowing the answer. "Anyways.." Harry leaned in. "I think Malfoy has a date with Snape's daughter." He whispered. Just then someone tapped him on the shoulder, and Ron and Moon's face's fell.
Nervously, Harry turned to face Severus Snape. Harry gulped. "I-" Snape raised a hand to stop him. "None of that Potter. Where did you see them?" He asked, his voice sounded almost...protective. "Uh ov-over by the food area Professor." He responded shakily. Snape swirled around, his cloak flowing, and stalked off rather quickly to the long dinner table. "Good job Harry." Moon said sarcastically. He turned to face her. "What did I do?!" He snapped. "Well you probably ruined her life." She replied. "If it wasn't ruined by her dad being that dude?" Harry asked, jutting a thumb in Snape's direction. "I'm just saying! There isn't many times a girl like her can probably get around..." she huffed. Just then a very popular boy walked over. "Hello Granger. I've only really seen your sister around. Nice to finally meet you." Cedric Diggory held out a hand.
Moon quickly shook it before pulling back. "Skittish huh? Most girls would've shook my hand till I tore it from their grasp." He smirked. "Well," She looked around nervously, before looking back at him. "I'm not most girls." She replied shortly. He smiled. "I see that. You're prettier than most that's for sure." He winked flirtatiously. "You probably say that to every girl you meet." Ron snapped. Cedric raised his eyebrows. "I'll assure you I don't. A compliment to each? Yes of course, they deserve it. But blimey, Granger you're particularly beautiful." He smiled kindly. Ron muttered something under his breath...
-POV switch-
Wren saw her father talking to Harry, and then turn and stalk towards her and Draco. She felt her stomach drop. She knew he hadn't spotted the duo yet, but when he did...Theo had already left and her grip tightened on the side of the table. "Draco no time for explanations." She grabbed his white shirt and ran with him. Draco stumble-ran after her, confused as hell. She threw open a closet door and threw him and herself into it, slamming the door shut behind her. She panted heavily and glanced at Draco. "H-hey sorry, my dad was coming.."
-I know it was short but POV switch-
Draco was about to pour himself some apple cider when Wren firmly gripped his sleeve and ran off, dragging him along. He almost fell, barely managing to keep himself up and run after her. She dragged him into an empty hall and threw open a closet door. She ran in, throwing him into. She slammed the door behind them, a small light flickered on to illuminate the pair. Draco could feel his heartbeat raised and stared at Wren. Damn she was small but strong as hell. She was panting heavily, as he was. Why the hell..? "H-hey sorry, my dad was coming." She huffed.
Oh that explains it..he let out a huff of relieved air, he'd been terrified about what she maybe wanted from him. Realizing she'd said something and he hadn't responded, he looked at her. "It's alright Wren..just kinda random.." "He's uh..he's probably gonna be looking for us..." she trailed off, looking around nervously. Draco regained his confidence in a heartbeat. "So you wanna stay in her for a while?" He asked, steadying himself, standing tall. She blushed. "I mean I guess we kinda have to...." She muttered bashfully. He nodded and approached her. She backed up a little, against the wall. "So what scared you? Why'd you think your dad would be mad?" He inquired.
"O-oh I don't know." She shrugged. He smirked. "You sure? There wasn't a reason? Because as far as I can tell..." he leaned in over her, smirking heavily. She blushed, her entire face turning red.
"Your father seems a bit protective about you having....
Romance."
