She cried as she told me what happened and I stared. I didn't know what to say to her because I couldn't believe any of it. Jacob? Really? I knew Jacob, I knew him as well as Aathy did. Aathy and her were so similar in so many ways, one way being that they can both hear and see Raakshyans when others can't. And that was only one of their many similarities.

But what would Jacob have to gain after hurting Aathy's feelings? Nothing. At least, that's what I thought.

I went to Aunty Seretha's house later that week and Chirpy was there. "Keroshan! I was just going to come see you!" He said. "What's wrong Chirpy?"

"Tiana told me what happened with Aathy and Jacob..."

I nodded. "Go on."

"So I went to talk to Jacob and he's acting really weird." Chirpy frowned. "He's being so... rude. And Jacob's not like that! You know him, right?"

I nodded again.

"Well yeah, I just asked him about it and he got mad. He told me to stop bugging him about it..." Chirpy looked hurt.

"What do you think is wrong?"

Chirpy shrugged. "His sister is worried about him too. She says that he's barely getting any sleep these days for some strange reason."

I thought for a second and then decided that I needed to talk to him. I needed to find out why he was acting so... strange.

When I arrived at Jacob's home, Jacob had just walked out.

"Keroshan." He called.

I nodded my head at him.

"Did Aathiray send you? Or are you just here to say hi."

"I think you know the answer to that, Jacob." I said. He was acting strange.

"I guess I do... what do you want?"

I frowned. "What's wrong with you?"

"Nothing. Just because I'm going out with Cecile doesn't mean I'm going to change."

"Well you've changed."

"No I haven't."

I shook my head. "Why did you call Aathiray a bitch?" I had some trouble saying that word; I guess I was so used to never saying it because Aathy hated it.

He rolled his eyes. "Oh give me a break. She's upset because of that? I can't believe-"

"Jacob, you hurt her feelings."

"Why do I care about her feelings when she doesn't care about mine?"

"You're wrong about that, she does care about your feelings, a little too much. That's why she even bothered telling you how she felt about you a Cecile."

Jacob raised an eyebrow. "I don't give a shit. If she wants to be a bitch then fine, I don't care."

I walked towards Jacob. "What did Aathy do to get you this mad?" I asked, raising my voice.

"She came into my life." He said, bluntly.

I grabbed his collar, angrily, and pushed him against his door. "I want you to tell me-" I froze and breathed in the air as I stared at Jacob.

Jacob sneered. "What's wrong Kero?"

I let go of him and let him fall onto the ground. "What..."

Jacob jumped up and adjusted his shirt. "You can tell Aathiray, I don't care." He said as he walked away.

"Wait... what the hell is going on?" I asked, as I sniffed the air again.

He turned around. "What, are you mad? Does this tick you off?" He laughed. "Just to let you know, I'm not a wolf. Make sure you tell Aathy that too. She likes to jump to conclusions." He continued to laugh as he walked away.

I watched him go, staring, standing in front of his house, like a fool.

I ran to Aunty Seretha's house and grabbed Chirpy. I then ran back to Aathy's place. I jumped over the fence, into her backyard and ran up her wall, jumping into her room through her bedroom window.

She let out a little scream, surprised by my entrance, but sighed in relief when she realized it was me. Chirpy flew in right after that.

"What are you not telling me, Aathy?"

She looked at me, confused. "What?"

"About Jacob..."

"I told you everything, Kero."

I hesitated, but then turned to Chirpy. "What are you not telling me?"

Chirpy stepped back. "I don't know..." He said, looking just as confused as Aathy.

I slumped down onto the floor. "Something's really wrong..."

Chirpy sat down next to me and so did Aathy. "What?" Chirpy asked.

"Have you ever noticed anything strange about Jacob?" I asked Chirpy.

Chirpy thought for a second. "No..."

"About his parents?"

"His parent's are awesome Kero! What's wrong?"

I bit my lip as I tried to think.

"Kero?" Aathy asked, worried.

"Jacob's a Raakshyan..." I whispered.

"What?!" Chirpy and Aathy yelled together.

"That's impossible! Both his parents are human!" Chirpy said. "There's no way someone can be a Raakshyan unless their parents are!"

I looked at Aathiray. "Has Jacob ever said anything to you, about his parents, I mean. Like, are both his parents his real parents?"

"He's never said anything about his parents not being... his parents. And they have to be his parents! He has his mothers eyes and his father's ears and nose." She said. "Maybe you were... I don't know, seeing things?"

"I didn't see anything... he has a Raakshyan scent. His human scent is gone, completely!"

Aathy hesitated. "He might have been hugging Cecile! Her scent might have gotten attached to him!"

"That sounds right!" Chirpy said.

I shook my head. "No. I am ninety-nine percent sure that Jacob is a Raakshyan!" I argued.

"But that's impossible Kero!" Chirpy said.

I frowned. "I know... but I'm sure it's true..."

"What animal does he turn into?" Aathy asked, awkwardly. "Is it a wolf?"

I couldn't help but smile. She loved Jacob from Twilight. "Well, he said he doesn't turn into a wolf... but I would think that its way too early for him to know what animal he changes into."

Chirpy hesitated for a second. "But..."

"I think he does know."

Chirpy scratched his head. "What's going on?! This is not right!"

I got up. "We need to go back to Raakshya." I said.

"What? Why?" Aathy asked.

"I need to talk to the Professor, he's the only one who would know what's going on." I turned to Chirpy. "Come, let's go." Chirpy got up right away.

"Wait! I can't go though, I have school!" Aathy exclaimed.

"Who said you were coming?" I asked her.

She frowned.

"Aathy, you've got to stay here. Try talking to Jacob about this, and tell your friends. Make sure they know... he could be dangerous."

Aathy hesitated, but nodded when I spoke of the safety of her friends. "Alright, but hurry back."

I smiled. "Don't do anything stupid, try to talk to Jacob without pissing him off, okay?" I asked as I walked towards the window.

She nodded. "Bye guys!"

"Bye Aathy!" Chirpy smiled.

"I'll be back soon." I said before I slipped out the window with Chirpy and ran to the fountain.

When Chirpy and I had returned to Raakshya, we were surprised by the loud crowd that had gathered around the speaking hall.

Chirpy tapped a man's shoulder. "Sir, what's going on?" He asked, politely.

The blond haired man turned around. "The Jewel of Yamanan and the Jewel of Vinon was stolen!" He exclaimed.

My mouth fell open. "What?!" Chirpy and I yelled together "How could someone steal that?"

"No one knows... the Queen is inside the hall telling people that everything will be alright but of course, who's going to believe that? She's going to travel from nation to nation so that everyone knows that all is well... I don't see the point. No one will believe it until the jewels are found." He said.

"But how?" I asked.

"People think the demons of the mountains have taken the side of the thief... Well, I have to go... be safe boys."

Chirpy and I nodded.

"Keroshan? Chirpy?" I heard someone call.

I turned around and saw Theresa, a girl I went to school with. She was tall and had long black hair. She had dark, shining black eyes and a very friendly smile. Her skin was so pale that you could always see the red in her cheeks, whether she was embarrassed about something or not and she was a very good fighter.

"Hey!" Chirpy smiled.

"Hey Theresa. How are you?"

"I'm fine and you two?"

"I'm great!" Chirpy said.

"I'm fine too, thank you. Do you know what's going on?"

She hesitated but nodded. "They say that the demons of the mountains have fully switched over to the bad side..."

"But how is that even possible? Vinon and Yamanan protect the jewels."

"That's why I'm worried." She said. "Whoever took the jewels must be really strong... I think the queen is being foolish, telling people to stop worrying."

I nodded as I turned around and looked at the crowd, I then saw Serpethion walk out of the crowd. "Serpethion!" I called.

His eyebrows shot up when he saw me, but then he sneered. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in the Land of Huma?" He asked.

"This is my home, you fool. I can come and go as I please."

He snorted. "Are you feeling better?" He asked, with no kindness, of course.

I hesitated. "How did you know I was sick?"

He smiled. "What if I told you that I was the one who made you sick?"

I stepped towards him. "You made me sick?" I asked, angrily.

"It's a what if question you retard." Serpethion said.

"What?" I growled.

Serpethion just grinned.

I was going to pounce on him, but Chirpy stepped between us. "Stop being dumb, guys." He said.

I sighed as I tried to control myself. He's probably just being dumb. I told myself.

"How's your human?" He asked.

I didn't answer.

"I'm sure she wants to come here and live the Raakshyan life, eh?" He laughed. "What a stupid girl.

I still didn't answer, but I let myself get angry.

"I think she'd be a great Raakshyan. She knows exactly how we roll. Plus, she'd make a perfect bitch."

I growled as I changed into a tiger and jumped onto him. I knocked him down and pinned him to the ground. 'Say it again. I dare you... you bastard.'

"She'd make a perfect bitch!" He spat.

I continued to growl as I lifted my and prepared to rip his mouth off but I heard someone yell.

"Stop!"

I looked up and saw Jasmine.

"Get off him Keroshan!"

I hesitated but did as she said.

"Change back! Now!"

I did.

"What is wrong with you Serpethion!" I heard Chirpy yell. "Why don't you just shut up and act decent for once?"

The queen looked at Serpethion. "What did you do?" She asked, harshly.

"Only what's right." He said, not taking his eyes off me.

I laughed sarcastically. "You would know what right is, wouldn't you?"

"Well at least I'm not in love with a fucking human!" He yelled.

I hadn't realized that there was a crowd surrounding us until I heard the gasps. I found it surprising that a lot of people didn't know about my love for Aathy. I thought all of Raakshya would know by now. Me, the son of Aarvind, was in love with a human. It seemed pretty unbelievable.

"A human?" I heard people exclaim.

"Disgusting! Aren't they supposed to be the enemy?" Others said.

"Impossible! Not the son of the great Aarvind!" A few said.

Even Theresa gasped.

I frowned. "What's your point?" I asked.

"My point is that you're betraying our people!" He yelled. "You don't deserve to be the Prince of Warriors!"

My heart sank when I heard some people agree with him.

"Your father would be very disappointed in you." He smirked.

"Shut up Serpethion." Chirpy said. "This is going overboard."

Serpethion turned to the people. "How would you feel if the next King of Warriors was a human?" he asked them. "If Keroshan continues to love a human, than that is what will happen!"

People started to agree with Serpethion.

"This is going against our traditions! Against our beliefs! Are we going to let those damned humans win?"

People yelled no.

"Serpethion!" Chirpy yelled.

"This goes for you too!" Serpethion said to Chirpy.

People gasped again when they realized Chirpy was in love with a human as well.

Noise erupted as people started to talk, talk about how bad it was that we were in love with humans and about how bad it was to have a Prince of Warriors who was in love with a human.

"Shut up." I said. When no on listened, I got frustrated. "Silence!"

Everyone shut up.

"I don't give a shit about what you think, Serpethion." I said. "And same with all of you." I said to all the people. "Whether you like it or not, you can't change my love for her." I turned to Serpethion. "What has gotten into you? I don't understand what you have against her." I yelled.

"She's a human... a parasite. Her species are parasites to us! She'll use you and throw you away when she doesn't need you."

"Why exactly do you think that?" I asked.

"Because, she's a human. Plain and simple, get it through your head."

I was about to yell at him but he stepped away.

"I have things to do. Things which are much more important than dealing with you." He then turned around and walked away.

I rolled my eyes. "I wish, I wish, I wish so much that I could rip his mouth off his face." I said, more to myself then others.

The queen stepped towards me. "Keroshan..."

I sighed.

"He's right... you know that."

I looked away. "Are you going to tell me what's going on with the jewels?" I asked, trying to change the subject.

She shook her head and sighed. "Everything is fine."

"I know you're lying." I said as I looked at her. "I'm supposed to protect you. I think it's only right that I know what's going on."

She hesitated, but then nodded. "Come."

I turned to Chirpy and Theresa. "I'll be back in a bit. Chirpy, I'll meet you at home and I'll see you around, okay Theresa?"

Chirpy smiled, but Theresa nodded hesitantly.

I turned around and walked to Jasmine.

"Let's get to the palace grounds first. I don't want anyone to hear anything."

I nodded.

When we arrived at the palace grounds, she sat on a bench and I stood in front of her. "Go on." I said.

She looked at me. "Someone stole the Jewel of Vinon and the Jewel of Yamanan and whoever this person was sent me a message. He or she said that they aren't going to do anything to harm the Raakshyans if we don't try to search for the Jewels."

"So you aren't going to look for them?"

"No."

I snorted. "Are you serious?"

"Keroshan, the Raakshyans are in danger."

"Their in more danger if some stranger has the jewels. How do you know if they're not lying? What if they plan on using the jewel?"

"I know when people are lying."

"You talked to this person face to face?"

"...No."

I rolled my eyes. "Jasmine..."

"We think the person is a human."

"What? A human wouldn't even be able to touch the jewel, let alone steal it." I asked.

"You altered the fountain, didn't you, Keroshan?" She asked, changing the subject.

I hesitated but nodded. "Yes, I did."

"You can be arrested for that."

"No one's going to arrest the Prince of Warriors." I said, bluntly.

She frowned. "Keroshan-"

"This isn't why I came to talk Jasmine." I said. "Tell me what you're going to do about the fact that the jewels were stolen. This isn't something small."

"Well Keroshan, to be honest, I don't know what I'm going to do." She said. "But what I do know is that you are making a big mistake. And I'm not just talking about Aathiray. You messed with the fountain, Keroshan. If humans find out how to work it, they can come and go whenever they please."

"Humans aren't going to know how to work it though."

She got up and stepped towards me. "How do you know that Aathiray has nothing to do with the disappearance of the Jewels?"

I started to laugh. "You're kidding, right?" I asked. "Aathiray is just a human girl. She's frightened of insects and cries when someone insults her." I looked straight at Jasmine. "Aathiray has never stolen a thing in her life, and even if she did, it would have been a pencil from her brothers pencil case... which she would probably return sooner or later."

Jasmine was about to say something but I didn't let her.

"I didn't come here to have to argue with you." I said. "I want you to send more protection to the remaining jewels. Send as many soldiers as possible. We can't risk those being stolen as well. Is that understood?"

"I wasn't going to argue with you Keroshan." She said. She then turned and looked at the garden. "I was going to remind you that this is where we first met."

I was a little surprised by that. I looked around and as I remembered to setting of our first meeting, I sighed. "Just do as I said, alright Jasmine?"

She stared at me and as much as I'd hate to admit it, I could see the desire in her eyes.

I turned around and walked away.

I walked down the dusty path that led to my home. Things weren't working out well. First off, Serpethion was being a bastard and making my life much more difficult than it already is. Second, Jasmine obviously still has fillings for me. Third, Jacob had somehow become a Raakshyan and fourth, the Jewels were stolen, which probably means that there is someone who is planning destruction.

Oh, and how can I forget that Aathiray may kill me?

I sighed loudly but then froze. I took a deep breath and took in the familiar scent. I stood there and thought for a second, trying to match a face to the scent and as soon as I realized who it was, I started to follow the scent. "Diyo..." I said to myself.

I felt the anger boil in me as I remembered that he almost killed Aathy and that he went to the human world and tried to hurt her. "Diyo!" I yelled as I ran into the forest. "Come out, I know you're here!"

I slowed down when I felt his presence. I could feel the darkness in his aura and I wasn't startled when he jumped out in front of me.

"Hello my friend!" He grinned.

I frowned. "Why the hell did you go to Aathiray's house and attack her and her friend?"

He thought for a second. "Oh yes, I remember! What fun that was. I met up with Seretha again after quite a while!"

"Do you know that it is forbidden for you demons to go to the Human World?" I asked, angrily.

He grinned. "It is forbidden for you to go as well, is it not?" He countered.

I frowned at him. "Why did you go? Who's your 'master' and why does he want you to kill Aathy?"

"Do you know that my master was very angry with me for not killing her?"

"I don't care about that!" I growled. "Tell me who he is and why he wants her dead!"

He shrugged. "Such a rude boy you are! Why don't you ask nicely and I'll tell you."

"Don't shit with me Diyo."

"Ask nicely."

I smirked. "Are you testing my patience or just playing games?"

"I think I'll say that I am testing your patience. I hate every single part of you and I prefer not to play games with people that I hate."

"Are you going to tell me what I want to know?"

Diyo grinned. "Say Please."

I frowned. "Please." I said in a disgusted voice.

"Say it like you mean it."

I was officially pissed. I transformed into a tiger and he screamed as pounced onto him and pinned him to the ground.

'Spit it out or I'll kill you.' I said.

"Calm down, calm down! I didn't kill her, now did I?"

I placed my paw on his neck and pushed down. 'You have three seconds.'

"Okay! Okay!" He said before I started to count. What a chicken.

'Good. Now go ahead and speak.'

He frowned. "First... let me tell you that jealousy can get the best of someone."

'I have no time for-'

"And even those who you love you will try to hurt you."

I rolled my eyes. Not this closest of friends can be the worst of your enemy's thing again.

"Listen. The only reason I'm going to tell you this is because I hate you, but I hate my... master... more." He said.

His face broke out into a grin.
