Kero and I then walked together to the library to pick out some books to read. I pulled out eleven, which made Kero laugh. "I like to read with you, but do you honestly think that we will have the time to finish all of those?"

I shrugged. "Fine, I'll put a few away." I said as I walked to one of the tables. I placed the books down and looked through them. "Which one do you want to not read?"

Kero sat down on a chair. He picked up a book and read the synopsis. He did that for another one. "These two seem typical."

I took them from him and put them back on the shelves. When I got back, he handed me another three books. "We can come back for these later." He said.

I nodded and put them back on the shelves too. When I walked back, I saw a girl come and sit across from Kero on the same table that we were sitting at. I smiled at her as I sat down next to Kero, and noticed that he was looking at her.

"You are a Raakshyan." Kero said to her.

She smiled and nodded. Her short, very curly, brown curls bounced as she nodded. Her skin was light and looked like it was shining. She had brown eyes and glasses that made her look smart and sophisticated. She looked tall and strong. "And you, are the great Keroshan, are you not?" She asked, with a grin.

Kero smiled. "I suppose I am. But unfortunately, I don't recall ever seeing you before."

"Don't worry, you don't know me. We've never met." She adjusted her glasses. "My name is Rebecca, it's a pleasure to meet you." She grinned.

Kero nodded. "The pleasure is mine." He turned to me. "And this is Aathy, my... girlfriend." Kero smiled at me.

I half expected her to smirk at me, but she smiled a very warm smile which made me more than a little happy. "It's wonderful to meet a human who doesn't hate Raakshyans."

I smiled. "And it's nice to meet a Raakshyan who doesn't hate humans."

She grinned.

"So, what brings you to this world?" Kero asked.

"My mom." She said.

Kero raised an eyebrow.

"I said that we don't know each other, but my mom was a very close friend of your moms."

Kero took a deep breath, obviously not liking that he had to speak of his mother, but he smiled. "Really?"

"Yup. My mom's a Raakshyan fortune teller. One of the best." She smiled.

Kero's eyebrows shot up. "You're Lira's daughter?"

Rebecca nodded. "Yup. You remember my mom?" She asked.

Kero hesitated. "Yes. I could never forget her, if it weren't for her, I would have never known that my mother was going to die."

I put my hand on Kero's shoulder.

Rebecca bit her lip. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"

"No." Kero said. "Your mother helped make her death easier for me... Because of her, I was able to try and save my mother. Of course, you probably know I failed, but at least I was able to do something."

Rebecca nodded. "Again, I'm sorry..."

Kero nodded. "Why is it that your mother sent you? Is she well?"

"She is well, and she sent me to find you. There's something she wanted me to tell you." Rebecca said.

Kero smiled and nodded, urging her to keep talking.

"Well, she had a vision... about you." Rebecca looked like she was trying to take in every expression Kero was making, and he wasn't making much. He just looked at her, calmly. "It was something like, someone is going to turn their back on you." She continued. "And then come back and stab you hard."

Kero bit his lip.

Rebecca looked at me. "And she said it had something to do with your lover."

Kero's eyes widened and he looked at me.

"What?" I squeaked. "I would never hurt Kero!" I said.

Rebecca smiled. "She never said it was you... she said it had something to do with you." She turned her head. "And she said to tell you to keep your eyes open. Sometimes, your closest of your friends are the worst of your enemies."

I suddenly remembered the lizard Raakshyan. "Wait... someone said that to me before." I said. "Do you know a Raakshyan that turns into a lizard?"

Rebecca thought for a moment. "No... I know someone who turns into an alligator."

"No, he was a lizard, a big lizard."

Rebecca shook her head.

I turned around and looked at Kero. He just looked at Rebecca. "Are you sure she said my lover?" He asked.

Rebecca nodded.

Kero nodded too.

"Oh, and she said something about how people are watching you, so be careful."

I shuddered as I remembered Diyo and the lizard man and... Serpethion. I looked at Kero. "Maybe she means Serpethion!" I said. "I mean... he's your close friend, but he seems to dislike you."

Kero surprised me by snorting. "Serpethion wouldn't dare plan anything against me because he knows I could defeat him."

I hesitated. "But..."

"Is there anything else?" He asked.

"No. That's it." Rebecca said.

"Are you returning to Raakshya?" Kero asked.

Rebecca nodded.

"We'll go together." Kero got up. "I need to speak to your mother."

"Hey, wait! I'm coming too!" I exclaimed as I got up and gathered all the books.

Kero turned around and looked at me. He looked like he was going to argue, but sighed. "Let's go, but you are only coming if your father says yes."

I nodded.

"Wait... are humans able to even pass through the fountain?" Rebecca asked.

Kero smiled. "I'll explain what happened on our way back." Kero said.

Rebecca nodded. "Um, okay."

I checked out all the books and we left for home.
