58. Rescued

CHAPTER FIFTY-EIGHT
RESCUED

Only after what felt like hours later were the trio all conscious once more. Each of them practically limp as they leaned against each other.

Truthfully, Aaron didn't really feel any side effects to whatever it was the three had been drugged with. Well, nothing negative anyway. He didn't feel anything.

In fact, he was stuck in a daze, everything a blur to him as he blinked slowly.

He couldn't even feel the soreness of his injuries anymore, but Aaron knew that this was because of the drugs pumping through him, not because his injuries were actually better.

Besides from the blond still finding it difficult to breathe, he didn't have any reminder of his injuries.

"Honestly, I don't really feel anything." Steve mumbled, sounding to be in just as much of a daze as Aaron was. "Do you guys?"

It took Aaron a little longer to process his brothers words due to the drugs he had been injected with, it taking the boy a moment before he replied.

"No." Aaron replied in a dazed voice, keeping his answer short as he tried and failed to recollect himself.

"I mean, I... I feel fine." Robin replied after a long pause, her voice slurring the slightest bit as she spoke. "I feel normal."

Aaron knew something was wrong with what he had been drugged with when he couldn't even remember the question that Steve had asked the two or who Robin was answering.

"I feel kinda good." Steve mumbled to the pair, chuckling slightly as he spoke.

"Me too." Aaron hummed in response, a breathy laugh leaving his lips as he fought through his brain to find some sort of jumble of words. "It's like... um... I can't remember. What's it called again, Steve? You know... the- the stuff you take when you're drunk?"

Steve hummed in thought, pausing for a moment as he tried to remember what Aaron was referencing. Suddenly he gasped in realisation. "Oh, um... weed."

"Yeah," Aaron snickered in response, his eyes flickering shut as he leaned his head back against either Robin or Steve's shoulder, he was now unsure who was on what side of him. "I feel like how, uh, how you say you feel when you... um, take that shit."

"Me too." Steve mumbled, nodding his head slowly in response. "I feel buzzed."

"Want to know a secret?" Robin began laughing hysterically, Aaron beginning to laugh as well even though Aaron didn't actually know what he was laughing at.

"What?" Aaron mumbled, hardly able to remember what Robin had said already.

"I feel buzzed, too!" Robin laughed, Aaron laughing unsurely along with the girl, simply because he felt like he should just because she was laughing. Aaron couldn't even remember what she had said that was so funny in the first place.

"I feel good." Steve muttered, he too beginning to laugh along with the pair. "Morons, they messed up the drug."

Aaron laughed harder at that, despite the fact that he was already finding it difficult to breath due to his injuries as it was.

"They messed us up!" Robin laughed along with the pair, leaning her head back as she did so.

"Hey, morons!" Aaron yelled as loud as he could through laughs, pausing for a minute as he tried to fight against the drugs hitting him as he tried to form a sentence. "Hey, morons! You fucked us up! Id-idiots."

The two he was sat with laughed even harder at the younger boys words, the two of them yelling along with him.

"Morons!" Robin yelled through laughs. "Morons! You messed up- you messed up the drugs!"

Steve began hysterically laughing, practically heaving for air as he spoke. "There's something wrong with us."

"Uh, oh." Robin agreed in a mocking voice. "Something's wrong."

Suddenly the same man in white who had drugged the three walked into the room, as well as the head solider.

The only issue being that because Aaron was so gone on whatever drugs he had been given, he couldn't even remember who the two were.

"Who the fuck are you?" Aaron blurted with an airy laugh, Robin laughing at his words.

Aaron wasn't met with an answer - not that he cared. Moments later and he couldn't even remember why Robin was laughing or what he had said.

Aaron tried to focus his eyes as he watched the man in white go over to a table on the side, laying down a tray as he set down a line of what looked like some sort of metal tools.

"Would now be a... be a  good time to tell you that I don't like doctors?" Robin joked, Aaron and Steve laughing in response.

Aaron's eyes widened when the solider suddenly appeared in front of him, his sudden presence taking the blond by great surprise.

"Let's try this again, yes?" The man asked Aaron in a thick Russian accent.

Aaron furrowed his brows in confusion, his mind a blur as he looked up to the man with an unimpressed expression, humming in response as he tried to remember what exactly he was supposably trying again.

"Who do you work for?" The man asked him firmly, Aaron blinking slowly in response as he tried to understand what the man was asking.

"Unemployed at the moment." Aaron replied bluntly, genuinely believing that the man was just asking him where he worked at.

Robin snorted loudly at his answer and Steve began laughing hysterically, Aaron scrunching his brows together in confusion at why what he had said that was apparently so funny.

Aaron began to chuckle himself simply because the other two were laughing.

"How did you find us?" The man sneered down at him, clearly not impressed.

"Accident." Aaron replied simply, his laughs coming to a stop before he began laughing louder than he had the entire day as a thought came to mind. "My brother... my brother wanted a ne-new girlfriend. But-but none of... um... none of the Am-American's like him anymore. So he want-wanted to see what the... uh, Russian's had to offer-"

"Silence!" The man yelled in Aaron's face as the boy continued to ramble, the blond looking back at him with a blank expression before bursting into laughter at the angered look on the soldiers face.

The man then motioned for the man dressed in white to make his way over, picking up one of the metal tools before doing so.

"What the hell - is that a can opener?" Aaron asked the man in white as he made his way over, the pair of scissors clearly not being a can opener, Steve laughing loudly in response.

"Yeah... what is that shiny little toy?" Steve asked in a mocking tone.

"Where you going with that, doc?" Robin asked in a dazed voice.

Aaron laughed loudly along side the two he was sat with. However his laughter was soon cut short as the man picked up his finger and literally went to cut it off.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Aaron yelled frantically, all humour draining from him. "Wait, hold it! Hold it! You can't just cut my finger off!"

The man in white raised his brows at him, lifting Aaron's finger so the blond could see before taking the scissors and moving them back to where he had it before Aaron stopped him.

However Steve stopped the man before he could do any damage to his brother or his finger.

"There was a code!" Steve yelled, adverting the attention off of Aaron and towards himself instead. "We heard a code!"

The man removed the scissors from anywhere near Aaron's hand, however he still kept them in his hand so the blond could see them.

"A code." The solider replied calmly, nodding his head slowly. "What code?"

"The week is long." Robin slurred, the solider walking slowly over to her as he encouraged her to continue. "The silver cat fe-feeds when blue meets yellow in the west. Blah, blah, blah. You broadcast that stupid spy shit all over town, and we picked it up on our Cerebro and cracked it in about two days."

Robin began hysterically laughing as she paused. "You think you're so smart, but a couple of kids who scoop ice cream for a living cracked your code, and now, people know you're here-"

"Who knows we are here, little bitch?" The man spat at Robin.

"Whoa," Aaron laughed mockingly at the solider. "Calm it, Sargent Krueger."

"Uh, well, Dustin knows." Steve blurted as if it was no big deal, Aaron humming in agreement as he hadn't fully registered what Steve had done.

"Hey, Steve." Robin tried to warn the boy, knowing that Steve had just put Dustin in danger.

Aaron didn't even know what was happening, too high to even acknowledge what Steve was blurting out.

"Yeah, Dustin Henderson, he knows." Steve continued, not knowing why Robin was trying to shut him up. "And... Kimberley Jenkins, she knows too-"

"Steve!" Robin yelled at the boy, Steve laughing in response, not understanding why she was so on edge.

The solider smirked at Steve's words, moving to stand in front of him instead of Robin with a grin.

"Dustin Henderson."  The man repeated, in a sickly sweet voice, looking down at Steve. "It is your small, curly haired friend?"

"Yeah!" Steve replied in an enthusiastic voice, as if because the solider knew who Dustin was, that suddenly made the boy a celebrity of some sort. "Great hair, kind of like a 'fro. Yeah."

Steve paused snickering to himself as he closed his eyes due to drowsiness.

"Yeah, Dustin's hair's great. And, uh... Kimmy-Kimberley. Uh... long black hair," Steve mumbled as he agreed with the man, trailing off as he began to snickering before he spoke again. "The girl Aaron's like, in love with, seriously, you don't know the shit I have to deal with over that-"

"Shut up." Aaron slurred in response, hardly able to stay awake.

"Where are they?" The man asked Steve roughly, not caring in the slightest over Aaron's girl troubles.

"Oh, they're long gone, you big asshole." Steve laughed in the man's face, Aaron snickering along with him. "And, he's probably calling Hopper, and Hopper's probably calling the US cavalry."

Aaron began hysterically laughing at Steve's words, his shoulders shaking with laughter as he closed his eyes.

"They're gonna come in here, commando-sty, guns a-blazin'," Steve continued through laughs, not realising the loon of fury crossing the man's face. "And they're gonna kick your sorry asses back to Russia. You're gonna be two pieces of toast."

Steve then burst into laughter, as did Aaron and Robin. The three unable to stop laughing, especially Aaron. Just the sound of the twos laughter who he was with was enough for the boy to laugh uncontrollably.

"Is that so?" The soldier mocked in a faux sad voice.

"Um... yeah." Aaron said while laughing, only causing Steve and Robin to laugh harder.

The threes laughter was cut off as an alarm began to blare loudly, the blonds eyebrows furrowed, following the soldiers eyes to the door of the room the three were tied up in.

The blond heard Steve snicker. "Told you."

The solider took a shaky breath, trying to retain his anger as he left the room, clearly furious.

Aaron was very clearly puzzled, unsure what was going on as the drugs were having such an effect on him that he could now not even remember the solider being there at all.

Seconds later, and the door to the room burst open, Dustin screaming as he ran up to the man dressed in white and zapping him with some sort of blue weapon, electrocuting the man and leaving him falling limp to the ground.

Aaron looked to the limp man with wide eyes, tilting his head up to Dustin next as he began to laugh.

"Hey! Henderson!" Steve laughed proudly at the boy. Aaron watching as the boy ran over to the three and began untying the them from their seats.

"Oh, my god!" Robin gasped with a smile on her face as she watched the boy.

"Get ready to run." Dustin told the three firmly, not even looking up as he untied them.

"I don't think my legs work anymore." Aaron slurred, frowning as he spoke, Dustin looked up at him with a scrunched up expression, not having any idea what he was talking about.

"What?" Dustin asked as he turned away. Although Aaron didn't get the chance to reply because Dustin finally got the three untied and quickly stood to his feet. "Okay, to your feet. Now, we need to go now!"

"Whoa!" Steve laughed, allowing Dustin to pull him out of the room by his arm when the older boy did nothing but sway on the spot.

Erica then scoffed, rushing over and pulling a Robin out of the room just as Kimmy rushed over to Aaron and did the same.

The brunette clearly noticed the state he was in, but she didn't comment on it due to the limited time the group had to leave.

Aaron's eyes widened as he realised who was dragging him out of the room, laughing as he tried to speak, however only ended up slurring his words due to how heavily he had been drugged. "Kimmy? We were- we were just talking about you!"

The girl didn't reply, only picking up her pace as she tried to get the boy out and away from the Russian's as soon as she could.
