Chapter- 27

-The Trade

Anna's POV

My heart is racing in my chest. From here… it's war! Alika is on the floor, sitting in her knees. She is completely submissive and it is clear as day that they have tortured her. Her face is filled with Miss and blood. Her ribs are visible. She is only skin and bones now. Her eyes are looking at the leaves in the ground, not once did he look up to look okay her mate. In fact, not once did their eyes meet.

James is eager to catch her glance. I can feel how sad he is. Looking at ones mate in such state is not something that a while can control. James is good at keeping his wolf in check. The wolves behind me are growling in anger. Finding their Luna in such a state made their blood boil. But everyone here knows now not the time to act in anger.

We see here to make a trade. Me for Alika.

“Ali!” I hear James whisper. Everyone here heard it because of their wolf hearing. Her name just rolled off his tongue. It must be really a moment for him. Looking at the person, he never thought he will ever see again. The person whom he fell in love with. It must be hard. It must be really hard for him. I can't help but feel my eyes well up. If I were in his position, my heart would explode too.

All of our gazes shifted to Alika, hoping now she will look at him. But no. It's like she didn't even hear him. The rogues, those filthy rogues chuckled. I hear a lot growl from behind me. It's James’s Beta. Looking at the other wolves of his pack, I see they are nearing their teeth at the rogues. At that moment, I felt the goosebumps.

This is how wolves are! We stick together no matter what.
“You seriously think she will listen to you?” The rogue who stood tall and beside Alika spoke.

“She only listens to us.” The one in the middle spoke. He must be the leader of these animals.

“She is not your slave!” James spoke beside me in a very lowly dangerous time. His eyes glued to her. “She is my MATE!” This time he shouted loudly. Maybe this time she heard him, cause she whimpered in fear.

Why is she scared of him? Her mate?!

“Tsk. Tsk. Don't scare her Alpha James. She is my favorite toy!”The Rogue leader spoke.

“I will fucking kill you!” James shouted going forward with his classes protruding out to kill the wild that spoke of his mate. “I will tear your skin and throw it to dogs, Drake!”

Before James can take another step, his Beta stops him.

“Alpha, not now!” The Beta spoke.”We need our Luna safe.” James is trying to calm his wolf. His claws going back in.

“So, I see you brought the package we told you.” Drake says looking at me. His eyes scanned me from head to toe, till they finally meet mine. My gaze didn't waver. My insides are booking with anger thinking of what they might have done to Alika. Sure I don't know her, but this is not the way I want to meet me mate’s sister.

“I am not a package you asshole!” I can't help what was coming out of my mouth.

“Fiesty! I like this kind. Very hard to tame.” The man beside Drake smiles. I grit my teeth in anger.

“So, what did you tell her? Did you tell her the real deal or…” Drake asks James.

“The real deal. I am not the one to lie like you.” James spits.

“Well, you don't lie, but you are ready to kidnap your friend’s mate.” Drake says.

“Who says he kidnapped me?” I ask coming forward.

“Oh, so if that's not the case, then I should think that you gracefully agreed to trade yourself for your sweet little sister-in-law whom you never met.” He says and before I can talk he continues. “I must only be a fool to believe that.” He gives me and James a look. “let's talk real shit, now!”

“You want real shit?! Well then, you have only option. You have to believe that I came here in my own.” I speak confidently. “That's the truth!” Well, at least half of it is.

“Let me get this straight for you sweetheart, no person in their right mind accepts to do this if they know the special treatment we have for our captured ones.”

I am confused now and it must have been clear on his face. Drake's smile grows bigger and creepier.

“She doesn't know, does she?” Drake asks James. I look at James and he just keeps his face stoned. “Well then,” Drake claps his hands. “Welcome aboard.” He opens his hands wide as though he is welcoming me into his family. But this just only feels scary. I look at James again and he gives me a not which I return.

“Let's trade,” I say taking a step forward. I hope our plan works out.

Drake nods at one of good men to leave Alika. They removed her chains, but she is not moving. She sat there like a statue. “Get up, Mutt!”

She slowly tries to get up, but hey legs are giving out. She fell down. James moved forward to help her.

“Ah, ah! No, lover boy. That's not allowed!” Drake says.

“Fuck!” James hisses loudly.

“She can walk.” Drake says and looks at Alika. She slowly starts walking. I just want to go and help her. She is not able to talk straight. There is dried blood all over her legs mixed with dark brown mud. I am not able to watch her anymore.

I walk forward to the rogues and she to her mate who is eagerly waiting to hold her in his arms. Her legs give out when she is a few feet away from me. I run to her and help her stand. She is having great difficulty doing so.

“Aww. Is this a family thing now?” Drake mocks and his men laugh behind him. “Move faster.”

“Shi shut your fucking mouth!” James shouts at Drake. Then suddenly there are growls heard and they got louder. All this growling is scaring Alika and she is visible shaking. I hold her close and put my hand on her back to run it to calm her down. But there are no clothes on her back. My palm came in direct contact with her skin which is filled in blood. This is bright, scary and gross. I will removed my hand as it is only hurting her.

What have they done to her? What have these fuckers actually done to her?!

“Stop it! You are scaring her.” At my words James looks down at her and his eyes soften immediately.

“Make it quick.” Drake says.

I lift Alika up and she starts walking to her mate. I go to the rogues. My heart is pounding. I can hear it in my ears. I hope nothing disturbs our plan. I look back and find James reaching out for Alika and pulling her into his arms. She didn't hug him back, but just stood there. She hisses in pain and I look away going to the rogues.

Once I reach them, the man beside Drake pulls my hands together.

“Don't touch me!” I pull my hands away. The other rogues just laughed. I growled at them.

“Ooh! This one has fangs!” The man says.

“They won't be for long.” Drake says and I want to punch him hard in the face.

I am a warrior before I was Luna and if there's one thing that a warrior had in their blood, that's never giving up. We fight till we did. We are warriors, I am a warrior.

“Inject her, Mike.” Drake ordered the man beside him.

Inject me?! With what?!

Before I knew it, it feel a sharp needle digging into my back and my head immediately starts hurting.

“What are you doing to her?” I hear James shout, still holding Alika in his arms. O don't think he is going to let go of her son.

“None of your fucking business. The trade is done. Let's disperse.” Drake says.

I hold my head in my hands. Fuck! I say in my head as it starting hurting more.

“In your dreams!” James says and as we have planned, two men behind Drake put knife and gun next his neck. One move and he will be done for. This only causes Drake to laugh. He is laughing hysterically. I look at James. The other men Drake just have a creepy smile.

“Did you really take me for a fool?” Drake says and I look back at James. My eyes widened at the site. There are more than ten people who have put their guns around James and the other has Alika in his clutch. She still looks like a statue. “You have your men in my group. I have my men in your pack.”

This is all going against the plan!

My head feels heavy, my heart is beating fast, I look around and all of this make me feel one thing.

We. Are. Struck!

Me, Alina, James, his pack and rogues. All of us. None of us made a move. One make the move, the other dies.

How did it all come to this?!

It was silent. This silence feels so deadly. The one that comes before a storm.

What will happen now?

We hear the sound of paws this on the first ground. The sound increased and everyone is looking around to track where the sound is coming from.

The sound of the paws got stronger. The sound radiates power, anger and it caused my heart to shake in fear.

Who is it?

I look around again to track the sound.

Mate! My wolf howls.

Hope raised in my heart. I turn my head to my left and do did everyone. The sound is coming from my left. It got stronger and stronger. He is near to us. The bushes move a bit and there he is.

The big black wolf. He jumped and landed in the middle. His wolf looking around angrily. As he looked around here sees Alika and James's pack. He growls. His growling never stopped since he appeared. He must be angry setting his sister like that.

He turns around and his eyes land on me. His eyes are not pitch black, which means his wolf is in total control now. I have to agree, I have never seen him so angry. His gaze zooming in me and I have to say I am scared. His angry is clearly evident in his face.

He roars. Loudly. Very loudly. I feel my hair fly and I wanted to cover my ears.

My Bane. He is angry with me. I have put him through so much. Oh, I love you!

Everyone takes a step back, but I can only step forward. I want to touch him. His right front page raised and hit the ground strongly. My heart ached for him. It's only been a few hours and I feel like I have been away from him for weeks.

I can't help the smile on my face. My eyes are blurred with tears. Only a fool will smile in a situation like this and I am a fool in love.
