Chapter 26

-Courage and Love

Anna's POV

I can't believe I am doing this. Either I was out of my mind while I thought about this plan or I am just insane. But this is the only way. No other plan would work. Not with two security guards on my toe all the while. Bane must be expecting me back by now. I told him I am going to washroom, but here I am.

What happened to this key?! Why isn't it opening?! I quickly turn the key other side and it opens. The chains holding his hands fall down and he is now free. The man who tried to kill me is free and now and if anyone hears that I just released the man who tried to put me on death bed, they would think I am stupid too.

"Let's go. We don't have much time." I tell James, who is struggling to stand up. He is beaten up and is trying to stretch his muscles. "We have to go to the west border. The patrol there at the moment is less."

"One minute. That means the patrol at the East border is less," he says and I look at him not understanding what he is saying.

"But I saw in the plan and schedule today."

"You still have to know a lot about your pack codes and secrets. Let's go to the East border." I look at him unwillingly. I might be stupid, but not stupid enough to believe him. "Trust me on this one."

I think about it for a second. I know he is not going to me kill after I told him about my plan to bring back his mate. Maybe he is right. Bane is very careful with the plans and very confidential. I heard there are codes in our pack, but never knew much about them. After a few seconds I nod at him. There is no time for me to argue with him. We have to get out of here first.

Opening the door, we quickly passed through the hall way checking if anyone is there. I have sent the guards away for another work who have been checking up on him. Everyone is in the ground training and planning for the coming war. Just when we are at the end of the pack office, I hear Bane's voice in my head.

Where are you?

Once I hear his voice I stop. I have to lie to him. I don't like it but I have to.

It's been more than ten minutes Sweet. Your guards are not with you as well.

I am coming. Just a miunute.

I didn't hear a response from him after that. I look at James and he knew Bane has contacted me.

"We need to get out right now!" He says and I look at him confused. He says running. I run after him. We are out of the pack house now.

"Why? What happened?"

"The cameras. He saw us."

Oh no! The cameras in the pack house!

I hear howls from the pack ground. James shifts into his wolf and I quickly follow him. We are running as fast as we can.

The ground below us is almost shaking. I can tell all the pack members training in the ground are now behind us. They just couldn't locate us in this dark night, but they can obviously smell us. The weather is cool and I hear thunders. The sky is very cloudy today.

Oh Moon Goddess! Help me!

I wish strongly in my heart. My mother once told me anything wished with pure and strong heart will happen. I hope she helps me. We need to get out of here.

We are running as fast as we can. Luckily they haven't located us yet. I feel water droplets falling on me. It's raining.

I got you!

My wolf says running faster. I smile to myself. I can always count on her. Soon it's pouring hard and I am sure, it must be really for anyone to track us now. The rain must have washed way our scents.

I look up at the sky and it is full moon today. The sky is dark. I know she is looking down on us.

We did not stop running.

Anna!

It's Bane.

Where. Are. You?

He is angry. So angry! I can hear he is scared too. Oh my Bane!

I am safe for now, I respond.

Come back!

Trust in me. I will bring your sister back. I love you.

I close the link quickly, once I say that. I know telling him about it is not part of the plan. But it is needed. I have to hint to him. It's the only way and the only help we can get.

James looks at me as my pace slows down. We pick o the speed and run faster. Our wolves are covered in mud. We reach the East boarder. The place is filled with water because of the heavy rain. We hear the sound of wolves running. They must be behind us. We look at each other and nod going through the water filled path.

Once we cross it, we are out of the pack boarder. Not that it will stop Bane from looking for me. Once we are outside the boarder, I look back.

The heaviness of the situation hits me. I am doing something against my mate's wishes. I might not see him again, if all of this doesn't go well and I haven't even got the chance to tell him goodbye. Tears pool in my eyes and my wolf whimpers at the thought of never seeing Bane again. But I am doing all of this for you Bane and I hope one day you will forgive me.

James nudges me. I nod at him turning away from the boarder. I can't believe, we came out of there without getting caught. If it wasn't for the rain, we would have definitely been caught.

We have been running for an hour now. My wolf is getting tired. We stop to drink some water near a lake. We are both in our wolf forms. James washed himself in the water to get rid of the mud and now he is pacing back and forth. He suddenly stops and looks around. I stand up and look around too for any threats.

I hear pawing thudding the ground. I am instantly on alert.

Is it Bane? Or our pack members?

Suddenly we are surrounded by more than ten wolves. I have never seen them before and they do not smell like my pack members. They bow down to James. He nods at them to rise. They must be his pack members.

A man comes out and hands over a pair of shirt and shorts to everyone. He places one near my paws and goes back to stands with the crowd. All of us take the clothes and go behind the bushes and trees to change into our human form. We come back and meet again at the pond.

"Are the others there?" James asks them. I stand a few feet away from him.

"Yes Alpha. They are waiting outside the Rogue territory. We have brought the weapons as you ordered." One of them responds. Some of them look at me curiously. Not in a creepy way, but in a who-is-she way. James must have observed this as well.

"This is Alpha Bane's mate." He introduces me, but I don't know what to say or do at the moment. I just give them a nod, which they reciprocate. "Everything should go as per plan. No one attacks without my command."

"Yes Alpha."

"We can run in our human forms from here. It takes half an hour. Let's go."

We run fat. The adrenaline in my body is kicking. My heart is racing not because of how fast I am running, but because of the thought of what will happen.

Will it all go as planned?

What if something goes wrong?

What if I might never see Bane again?

The thought of not seeing him again, tears through like a bullet. I can't fight it. It's hurting already. But I will do what I am about to do to bring his sister back. I want him to have his family.

I can feel him inside my head trying to break into my thoughts to connect with me, but I have been blocking. It's getting hard now to block him.

"What?!" James sudden voice cuts me off my thoughts as we all stop. He looks at me and so follows the other heads. I have no clue what is happening. It looks like he is mind-linking with someone. "We need to move faster."

"What happened?" I ask him. I have to know.

"Bane is in my territory."

I am shocked. He is angry and he might hurt someone for sure.

"If he doesn't find us there, it only a matter of time before he knows we are here."

Oh Moon Goddess!

"Is everyone ready?" James asks as his pack members are in position. Some of them are behind the bushes. James is planning to take only few of them with us. "Are you ready?" He asks me and I am freaking out. I just nod my head. "You are a courageous woman, Anna. Don't forget that." I just give him a smile.

I don't know if I am a courageous womar. But I sure know that I am a woman deeply in love.

We are now standing in front of the Rogue's Hell House. It literally looks like one. It looks dark and scary. I want to hear Bane's voice once. He is still trying to connect with me in my mind.

The door opens and few men come out along with a woman. They are holding her by her hair, dragging her. She is covered in blood. He legs look so limp and she looks life less. Her hands are tied behind. She is only wearing a long shirt which is covered in mud and blood. I hear a growl beside me.

Oh my God! It's Alika!

I can't even look at her face clearly. She is not even able to open her eyes.

What have they done to her?! If Bane sees her like this, none of these rogues will be alive. Hell! Even I want to kill them! Those filthy animals!

I need to hear Bane's voice now. I need to... One last time. Before all of this starts. I let him in my mind.

Bane. I call his name.

Anna! Where are you?! He sounds angry, frustrated and almost scared.

I put my trust in you Bane. I love you. I close the link as soon as I am done. I have given him the little hint in case anything goes wrong. I am sure if this goes wrong and I get surrendered, they will block my connection to him in every possible way, just like they did to Anna. But, I will do anything to see him happy.
