-Personal Bodyguard

Anna's POV

I slowly tried to open my eyes, but I can't. I can only hear things. What is happening? Where am I? Why can't I open my eyes? Then I heard a voice.

"I DON'T CARE! I WANT THE PERSON WHO IS ON THE PATROL AT THAT TIME NOW! DID YOU GET ME? I SAID DID YOU GET ME?!", I heard voice and the voice sent chills down my spine and my wolf stirred inside me. It's our mate, we both said at the same time.

"Yes Alpha", I heard another voice say.

Then I didn't hear anything. Soon I slipped my consciousness and went into darkness.

After Two Hours

I gained consciousness again, but I still can't open my eyes.

"I will ask you again and you better answer me correctly, this time", I heard Bane say in a very low dangerous voice.

"Yes Alpha", a scared voice answered.

"Why isn't she waking up?", he asked in the same voice.

"Alpha, she is healing. It will take her a little more time to heal-".

"I don't care! If she doesn't wake up in the next in the next two hours, you will be dead!", he threatened the other person, whom I think is the pack doctor.

"Okay, A-Alpha", he said.

"Now leave!", I heard his voice boom and I heard a door open and close.

I fell back into darkness again.

After Two Hours

"I am sorry Alpha. I don't know", a scared voice said.

"What do you mean you don't know?", Bane's angry voice said.

"She may wake up in the next hour Alpha. I swear she will. The poison is almost worn out. She is healing".

"Just... Get lost!".

Then I felt a presence beside me. I feel the bed dip and I feel someone taking my hand and entwining my fingers. By the tingles that ran through my hand, just by the simple touch, I know that it is my mate, Bane. I want to say his name out loud, but I can't move my lips. I feel lips on my hand.

"Wake up, my Sweet", I heard his tender voice which is tender, warm, comforting, loving, concerning and care. I so want to wake up and kiss him back.

I tried. I should try. I want to wake up. I want to see his face. I tried hard.

"Wake up for me, my Sweet", he said and I feel lips on my forehead, which lingered lovingly there for a minute before he pulled away and I instantly miss them there. I instantly miss the warmth of his body against mine, which was there when he leaned down to kiss me.

Now I want to wake up for him. I tried harder and harder. My wolf is helping me to wake up. But suddenly is feel as if I am hit and I am surrounded my darkness again. NOOO!

After Thirty Minutes

"You being close to her may help", I heard a voice say and heard footsteps as someone left the room. I feel someone beside me and they laid down on the bed along with me. I felt hands going around me and legs being tangled with mine. It's Bane. My wolf is ecstatic of having him so... so close to us.

"When will you open your those beautiful eyes for me Sweet?", he whispered in my ear, his warm breathe fell on my ear and he put his face in my neck. I feel his nuzzle his nose on my neck and I feel his lips touching my neck. He placed a kiss on my chin, then on my cheeks. His body is almost covering mine now.

Help me!, I said to my wolf.

I will and I am trying, but I can't, she said.

Let's try together at a time, I advised.

Okay. At a time, she said.

We both tried hard and I feel the darkness around me leaving and I moved my eyes. I tried to move my fingers. It's hard to move them. I tried and tried at last I felt my little finger of my right hand move. I think Bane didn't notice it. I tried again and felt my fingers move. Now I tried to open my eyes. I closed my fist and tried harder.

"Anna", I heard Bane's voice.

Yes.

"Wake up, Anna", he said as he held my fist in his hands.

I am, but I can't move. I want to say, but I can't move my mouth.

"Anna, my Sweet, I know you are awake. Open your eyes. Try", I heard him say. Then suddenly I feel him leaving and going away.

Where is he going?! Wait! Don't leave me! Bane!

"Greg! Come now! She is waking up!", I heard him say.

Who is Greg? May be the pack doctor.

"Anna", he called again.

Come on, come on, come on! I told myself to open my eyes. I feel the full consciousness come back and I slowly opened my eyes. There is more light in the room. I feel Bane hold my hand and I looked to his side. He is looking at me with happiness in his eyes.

"Oh you woke up!", he said as he hugged me tightly. I felt pain on my left shoulder and looked at it. There is cotton rolled from my shoulder from under the arm pits.

I hissed.

"I am sorry", he said caressing the dressing on my shoulder.

I nodded my head while smiling. The door opened and a man of his mid thirties came in.

"How are you feeling Luna?", he asked smiling a little.

"Not bad", I replied smiling back.

He did some checkups on me and soon left, saying that he will send the results soon. Bane glared at him and he gulped down before leaving the room.

"Why are you angry at him?".

"He said you will wake up in two hours at first but you didn't. He said again that you will wake up in one hour, if you would have not woken up, I would have had his head for dinner".

"That's mean and gross, you know", I said glaring at him playfully. He just shrugged and pulled me closer to him.

"I am just happy that you are fine", he said while tucking a piece of hair behind my ear as he is looking into my eyes. That gesture made my heart swell. He leaned down and kissed my forehead. After a few minutes of silence, I spoke.

"Bane?".

"Mmm".

"What happened? What passed through my shoulder?", I asked while looking at him.

"That's nothing forget it", he said.

"Bane, please tell me", I said by laying a hand on his chest.

"Anna, I said it's not something you should think about in this state!", he said in a strict voice.

"Bane, it's about me and I have every right to know", I argued back. He sighed and looked up at me again.

"It's a bullet filled with poison that harms werewolf's. It kills instantly. We still don't know who did it. No one saw the person and whoever did this is very smart. The person hid the scent. Once I get my hands on that bastard, I will kill him myself!", he said the last sentence angrily.

"Bane, calm down", I said rubbing his arm.

"I can't Anna. We are lucky that the bullet passed through your shoulder, what if it would have passed through your heart, just a few inches below?!".

"I am fine. I am here now. In your arms. Calm down", I said in a soothing voice and he held me tightly to him, carefully at the same time.

"I am so glad you are fine", he said into my shoulder.

"Bane, it's okay", I said while rubbing his back.

"Don't you ever leave me", he said still hugging me.

"I will never leave you. Never", I said closing my eyes, holding a true promise to him.

I feel safe and content now. Is this how it feels to have a mate? The knock on the door disturbed us. I tried to pull away, but he held me.

"Bane, there is someone at the door".

"I don't care. Now listen. I don't want you to go into the woods anymore. I don't trust even myself with you after what happened. I am putting a personal bodyguard for you. I know there are already bodyguards for you, but I just want to give the best fighter of ours", he said looking at me.

I nodded my head.

"He is right on the other side of the door. I will call him in", he said and I nodded again. I want to see who this person is. Is he also same like all the other members in the pack? Serious and cold? Maybe he is. The door opened and a man in his early twenties came in.

"Bane", I called looking at the other man in confusion.

"Anna, this is-".

"Hi! I am Josh Patrick. You can call me Josh", he said while grinning and giving me his hand. I smiled back at him and took his hand. Bane clenched his jaw in anger as he is cut off mid-sentence.

"Hi! I am-".

"I know Anna. You are beautiful", he said smiling as he took my hand to lay a kiss on it, but Bane stopped him.

"Do you work! Don't flirt with her!", he warned.

"Okay Alpha", he said and Bane looked at me, his eyes softened.

"I need to attend an important pack business. I will be back in less than an hour".

I nodded my head, smiling at him and he placed a small lingering kiss on my lips which contained possessiveness and left the room. I heard Josh leave a breathe and fell on the couch in the room.

"So what do you want to do today beautiful?", he asked and I am happy for the first time that I someone called me with my name, without me asking them to do so.

Good. May be not everyone in the pack is moody. I can have a friend here also. It's not that bad to have a personal bodyguard after all.
