We returned home from the doctor's office and Reba went straight to bed. She was stressed and worried that she would do something to hurt the baby.Narvel tried to comfort her by saying things like 'everything will be alright' and 'nothing's going to happen'.She kinda expected the high risk part but hearing it just made it too real.
Narvel went to check on her and found her balled up crying."Reba,it's not the end of the world.Everything will work out.The doctor didn't say you would lose the baby, all he meant was that we just have to be a little more careful.Which we will be."Narvel said as he pulled her close to him."Narvel, what if I do something wrong?! What if I hurt them or I go into early labor?! I wouldn't be able to live with that!"Reba said crying harder."Honey, those are 'what if's'.We need to think about the 'are' and 'will'. We are going to have this baby and it will be healthy." he replied."How can you be so sure?"Reba asked."Because I have faith and hope." He told her."How?" she said."Because we were told that it was unlikely that you could get pregnant.Well,it happened on our first try. So it seems like God wants us to have this baby and we will." he stated. She sat up and deeply thought about his words as she took them in. "Am I right?" he asked seeing her think.She grinned and replied"Guess so." "That's what I thought."he said. She laughed and kissed him. "Glad to see that you are feeling better." he chuckled. "Thank you." She replied."Anytime." he said kissing her head.
That night Narvel was getting ready for bed and Reba has the TV on in their room.Something, a special announcement, "Queen of Country Reba McEntire is expecting her second child with husband Narvel Blackstock." Narvel came running out of the bathroom as the phone started ringing off the hook. Reba was to stunned to answer it so Narvel did."Hello?" he greeted. "Narvel, is it true? Is Reba pregnant?" Jackie asked with anticipation."Uh... yes." he could hear yelling and a commotion in the back ground. "We're coming up there!" Jackie said with excitement."No!" Narvel said a little to loud he calmed down and added on"We need to get away so we'll come down there.I think it'll be good for Reba." They bade their goodbyes and hung up."Reba, that was your mother, we're going to Oklahoma." he said.Reba was still shocked by the news report. "How could they so that?! They can't give us a day of privacy!"She was furious. Narvel knelt down in front of her and made her look him in the eyes."Reba, you need to calm down.Don't get stressed out." She had tears steadily running down her face."Okay." she said taking a deep breath.
The rest of their night consisted of answering phone called and texts from Kelly,Susie, Pake, Shelby, Ronnie, and a few other close friends.When they finally went to bed Reba was the first one to fall asleep. Narvel lay there awake thinking about the future. He rolled over and spanned Reba while placing his hand on her stomach.
