The Desert
(And after a LOOONG hiatus, here is the next chapter! I hope you guys enjoy!)
Appa is gone. And we are stranded in the middle of the largest desert in the world. This would not be so bad except we are without food and very limited water. Wind blows and I hold up a hand, squinting my eyes to keep sand out of them. Nothing but sand for miles. "How could you let them take Appa? Why'd don't you stop them?" Uh, oh. I lower my arm and look back at Aang, him glaring at Toph. "I couldn't. The library was sinking, you guys were still inside, and..." "You could've come to get us! I could've saved him!" Aang shouts at her. I hurry over to them. "I can hardly feel any vibrations out here. The sandbenders snuck up on me, and there wasn't time for..." "you just didn't care! You never liked Appa! You wanted him gone!" Okay, that's it!
"ENOUGH." I gently push Toph behind me and look down at Aang, "Move, (Y/N)!" He shouts. I don't. "Aang, stop it." Katara stands beside him and places a hand on his shoulder, he looks at her. "You know Toph did all she could. She saved our lives." She reasons. "Who's gonna save our lives now? We'll never make it out of here." Sokka says. I look at him, "We will." I tell him. "That's all any of you guys care about, yourselves. You don't care whether App is okay or not." Aang stomps off. I get angry from that, "Aang. We all care about Appa, but getting angry and fighting each other is not going to bring him back. What happened happened and there is no changing it. We need to find a way out of the desert." I tell him.
"I'm going after Appa." He flies off. "Aang, wait!" Katara runs after him but stops and watch him fly away. "Let him go, Katara. He'll find us when he's cooled down." I tell her. "And it won't be by much." I mutter. (Sheesh. 😓) "We better start walking. We're the only people who know about the solar eclipse. We have to get that information to Ba Sing Se." Katara states. I take Toph's hand and we all start walking. "You t ink if we dig out the giant owl, he'll give us a ride?" I stare blankly at Sokka, "You're gonna dig to the Spirit World?" I ask him sarcastically. He doesn't say anything so got the answer to that. (Yeah... Nope.)
We walk for a while, the sun blazing down does not help but we it's not the worst thing. But feeling the heat, I remember Zuko. It's been a while since we last saw each other. I hope Iroh's doing okay. That girl, his sister, called them traitors which means they're most likely being hunted down. Huh, how ironic. (I know, right?)
I stop because Toph stops and look down at her, "Katara, can I have some water?" She asks. "Okay, but we've gotta try to conserve it." Katara says. We all open our mouths and Katara bends water into them, I hold it in for a moment before swallowing in tiny gulps. "We're drinking your bending water? You used this on the swamp guy!" Sokka exclaims. "It does taste swampy." I roll my eyes and swallow the last of my water, "It's not like we can complain." I state. "I'm sorry, it's all we have." Katara says. "It's okay, Katara. We're just glad to have some water." I tell her. "Not anymore. Look!" Sokka points and we follow to see a cactus. Why do I have bad feeling about this? (🌵)
Third Person P.O.V.
Sokka hurries over to the cactus and cuts off a piece of it, taking it and drinking its juice. "Sokka, wait, you shouldn't be eating strange plants." Katara warns. "Or drink from them." (Y/N) adds. The girls hurry over to Sokka and Momo as they eat and gulp down the cactus. "Ah!" Sokka sighs and cuts a cactus in half. "There's water trapped inside these." Sokka says, offering one to Katara. But she steps away from it, "I don't know." She says. "Suit yourself. It's very thirst-quenching, though." Sokka says. But his pupils dilate as the juice affects his brain, he shakes his head making (Y/N) take a step back with Toph since she had not let go of her hand. "Drink cactus juice. It'll quench ya." Sokka says, sounding spaced out.
"Nothing's quenchier." He does the worm for some reason. "It's the quenchiest!" He appears in front of Katara again. She and (Y/N) stare at him in concern. "And this is why I always trust my gut." The ladder states. "Okay, I think you've had enough." Katara states, taking the cactus and pouring out the juice. "Who lit Toph on fire?" Sokka asks, appearing beside Toph. (Y/N) and Katara look up to find Momo purring while flying in a circle in the air, spinning faster until he crashes to the ground. "Can I get some of that cactus?" Toph asks. "Absolutely not." (Y/N) responds immediately. (Yeah, we're not that desperate. Yet.) Katara picks up Momo and holds him.
"Come on, we need to find Aang." Katara says. She starts walking with (Y/N) following her while still holding hands with Toph. Sokka is standing in place while looking up at the sky. (Y/N) grabs Katara's shoulder, stopping them, "Get your brother." She tells her. Katara looks back and grunts, placing Momo on (Y/N)'s shoulders while he lays limp on them as she hurries over and grabs Sokka's wrist. They all resume walking. "How did we get out here in the middle of the ocean?" Sokka asks. Katara and (Y/N) sigh in sync.
Elsewhere in the desert, Aang soars on his glider. He blows his bison whistle, hoping Appa to hear it and come to him. "Appa!" He calls out. He dives down then lands on a dune, closing his staff. "Appa!" He calls out again. He turns around to try and find any sign of his friend. But sees nothing, tears in his eyes and threatening to fall. "No." He shouts them, in anger. He opens them, "NO!" He slams his staff down, causing a massive sand cloud to form and a powerful gust of wind to blow far and wide across the desert.
Not too far, the others stop and look back to see it. Except Toph. Katara, (Y/N), Sokka, and Momo close their eyes from the wind as sand blows past them. "What is that?" Katara asks. "What, what is what?" Toph asks. "It's a giant... mushroom. Maybe it's friendly!" Sokka exclaims with a wide smile. (Y/N) shakes her head, but knows that the cloud is Aang's doing. "Come on, we gotta keep moving." She states, walking along with Toph beside her and Katara following them. "I hope Aang's okay." Katara says. "I'm sure he's fine, Katara." (Y/N) says. "Friendly mushroom! Mushy, giant friend!" Sokka says, moving his body to side to side at the cloud while Momo hangs onto his shoulders. (🍄🟫)
(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
Great Spirits. I have never sweated this much in my life. Not even when being blasted with fire. Wiping my brows, I look at the sweat on my hand. Licking my lips, but I shake my head and flick my sweat off. Nope, not that desperate. (Yet.)Thankfully, the sun is setting so hopefully things will cool down. I shadow passes us, we all stop and see Aang is back. But with only him being back, I frown. "I'm so sorry, Aang." Katara apologizes. "I know it's hard for you right now, but we need to focus on getting out of here." She says. "What's the difference? We won't survive without Appa. We all know it." He says.
I let go of Toph's hand and walk over to Aang, and smack his head. "Ow! Hey, what was that for?" He glares at me. "I get it. Appa is the only thing you have left from your time, but I'm not calling it quits yet. If we want any chance of getting out of this desert and getting Appa back, stand up and walk." I sternly tell him. "(Y/N)-" "No, Katara. It needs to be said." I tell Katara. (Okay. 😶) I know it sounds harsh, but there is still a war going on and we cannot give up now. She looks down but says nothing. "Well, I hate to add to the gloom, but as far as I can feel, we're trapped in a giant bowl of sand pudding. I got nothin'." Toph says. "Sokka, any ideas how to find Ba Sing Se?" Katara asks her currently-lost-his-mind brother. "Why don't we ask the circle birds?" Wait, what?
I look up to find giant hornet-vultures flying above us. Spirits. "We gotta keep moving." Katara and I share a look and we nod our heads. "We're getting out of this desert, and we're gonna do it together. Aang, get up. Everybody, hold hands." She takes charge. She leads while holding Aang's staff, Toph holds onto his hand, me holding hers and Sokka's while he holds Momo's tail. "We can do this. We have to." I look up at the hornet-vultures. No way am I letting a desert be the end of me.
We walk on for a while, we stopped holding hands and everybody is exhausted. I look back to find the sun fully set. I stop, "Alright. Break time." I state. Aang, Toph, Sokka and Momo all collapse. "Is there any more water?" Toph asks. I look at Katara, "This is the last of it. Everyone can have a little drink." She says, walking over to Toph. She bends the water out of her pouch, but Momo charges through it. "MOMO, NOOOO, YOU'VE KILLED US ALL!" Sokka screams. I roll my eyes. "No, he hasn't." Katara says, bending the water out of the sand. (Katara, you are a blessing~ 🙏) "Oh, right, bending." When is that cactus juice going to wear off?
I rest my hands on my hips and exhale, "Okay, we rest for a little while, but we should take advantage of the night. I can feel it cooling down." I inform. "Good idea. Sokka, let me see the things you got from the library." "What? I didn't steal anything! Who told you that? It was you! You ratted me out!" I groan loudly. "Sokka, will you shut up." I say back. "It doesn't matter. None of those will tell us where Appa is." My twitches a little. I cover my face, I know how much Appa matters to him but we are never going to reunite with him if we DON'T GET OUT OF THE DESERT. (I think the heat's getting to her.) "No, but we can find out which way Ba Sing Se is. We can use the stars to guide us. That way, we can travel at night when it's cool, and rest during the day." Katara states.
I drag my hand down my face and look at the others, they are all lying down and I walk over to Katara. "We've had a long, exhausting day. Let's get some sleep first." I tell her, laying a hand on her shoulder. She sighs and looks at the map. I move over and sit between Sokka and Aang, taking out my bola-knife so that if anyone thing tries... they'll be sorry.
Zuko's P.O.V.
After getting attacked by Uncle Iroh's 'old friends', he took us to a desert because he thinks someone can help us. Now, we're in a bar with a lot of people that would not hesitate to turn us in for some easy pay. "No one here is gonna help. These people just look like filthy wanderers." I tell Uncle. "So do we." Okay, he has a point there. "Ah, this is interesting. I think I've found our friend." He points behind me and I look back to see an old man sitting at a Pai Sho table. What? "You brought us here to gamble on Pai Sho?" I ask him. "I don't think this is a gamble." He says, standing up and walking over to the man.
I follow him, but feel like we're being watched. I glance over at two men, one who looks like he has been in underground fighting and the other being like one of those stuck up money grabbers. (Uh-oh.) Uncle stops and so do I. "May I have this game?" He asks. "The guest has the first move." The man says. I stay standing while Uncle sits and places a tile. "I see you favor the White Lotus Gambit. Not many still cling to the ancient ways." The man says. "This who do can always find a friend." Uncle replies. "Then let us play." (Cryptic.)
I watch as they place tiles but it doesn't look like they are competing, more like working together. I grab a chair and sit down, watching closely as they place the tiles down to form a lotus. "Welcome, brother. The White Lotus opens wide to those who know her secrets." What? "What are you old gasbags talking about?" I ask. "I always tried to tell you Pai Sho is more than just a game." Uncle says. What does he know? And why does he always hide it behind cryptic words?
"It's over!" I look behind to see the two men approach us. "You two fugitives are coming with me." He says. "I knew it!" The old man stands in front of us. "You two are wanted criminals with a giant bounty on your heads!" Great. "I thought you said he would help." I tell Uncle. "He is, just watch." He whispers, feeling him rest a hand on my shoulder while I look at the man. "You think you're going to capture them and collect all that gold?" He says. And that gets the attention of the other patrons in the bar. (Oooh.) Oh. Uncle grabs my arm and we run out of there with the old man. Glad to know not everyone is out to get us. And even that is not reassuring.
Third Person P.O.V.
Stars twinkle while the desert is quiet and peaceful. (Y/N) keeps hold of her bola-knife but fell asleep, sitting up while head tilts to the side. "(Y/N)." She snorts awake and looks at Katara, who gave her a gentle nudge. "Come on, time to get going." Katara says gently. (Y/N) stretches her arms above her, she cracks her neck and looks to find Momo bury Sokka with only his torso covered. "Come on, get up, we need to go." Katara wakes Sokka up. He sits up along with Toph while she smacks her lips, "Yesterday, my mouth tasted like mud. Now, it just tastes like sand. I never thought I'd miss the taste of mud so much." She comments. (Mud is wet. Wet... water~ 💧)
(Y/N) puts away her bola-knife and stretches out her legs, "Yeah, well, once we get out of here, mud baths for everyone." She says, lowering herself for her forehead to touch her knees. Katara is about to place her hand on Aang, "I'm awake." He speaks, Katara retracting her hand. "I couldn't sleep." The young monk says, still extremely worried about Appa. "Well, we need to get moving if we want to get out of this sand pit." Katara states. Aang looks up at the sky, but becomes shocked and sits up to find a something passing by the moon. "Appa!" He exclaims, a wide smile on his face. (Y/N) quickly stands, and looks up. "Appa? But why would Princess Yue need him? She's the moon, she flies by herself." Sokka says, rubbing Momo's tail on his face and still under the effects of cactus juice.
However, looking at it longer, it is not Appa but a cloud. (Y/N) frowns, "Sorry, bud. It's just a cloud." She tells him, Aang's smile drops and looks down at the ground. "Wait, a cloud! Here, fly up and bend the water from that cloud into my pouch." Katara tells Aang. He looks at her irritated and snatches the pouch aggressively from her. He opens his glider and flies up. He passes through the cloud twice, it vanishing as he collected the water from it. He lands in front of the group, tossing the pouch back to Katara. She looks on it, "Wow, there's hardly any in here." She voices. "I'm sorry, OK?! It's a desert cloud, I did all I could! What's anyone else doing? What are you doing?" Aang snaps, shouting and point his staff at Katara. (Whoa, easy, now.)
(Y/N)'s hands close into fists. "That's it." She whispers. (Eep! 😱) She walks over and smacks the staff away from Katara. "Trying to keep everyone together. That's what Katara's been doing." She states. Katara goes to grab her shoulder, but (Y/N) steps forward and stands in front of Aang, looking down at him with a stern but frustrated expression. "You need to cut this out. You say we only care about ourselves, but we're trying to survive and get out this desert so we can get the help we need to finally put an end to this war which has hurt everyone and not just you. And don't go thinking for a second that Appa is not important to us or that we don't care about him because we do, and we care about you. So stop being a brat and taking your anger out on those that are only just trying to be there for you! If you want Appa back, HAVE FAITH IN HIM AND US!!! She rants.
She pants heavily, everyone is silent. Aang's glare softens then he looks away, glaring at the ground. (Y/N) sighs, hanging her head low then raises it and pushes some hair back, "Now, let's move." She orders. Katara frowns, hating seeing her sister figure and friend angry and fighting. "We need to go this way." She speaks, leading the way and the others follow.
They walk on, the desert night providing some cool air and peace for the group. "Ow!" Until Toph fell over. "Crud, I am so sick of not feeling where I'm going. And what idiot buried a boat in the middle of the desert?" She complains, sitting while rubbing her foot. "Boat?" (Y/N) zips over and bends down, laying a hand on the piece of boat exposed. "Believe me, I kicked it hard enough to feel plenty of vibrations." Toph explains. (Y/N) stands up, "Aang, can you get this out?" She asks. Aang steps forward and everyone steps back, he swings his staff to bend the air around them. A dust cloud forms then clears up to reveal a sand sailer. (A miracle! 🤩)
"Ha-Ha! Yes, finally! Our luck is turning around!" (Y/N) exclaims excitedly. Katara hurries over to climb onto the helm of it. "It's one of the gliders the sandbenders use. And look, it's got some kind of compass on it. I bet it can point us out of here. We're gonna make it." Katara says. "Great. Now, let's get on. Aang, you can bend a breeze to get us moving. The sooner we're out of the desert, the sooner Aapa can be found and this war over." (Y/N) states. They hear laughing and look to find Sokka burying Momo in the sand. Sokka smiles and gives two thumbs-up while Momo purrs.
Zuko's P.O.V.
We enter a plant shop-these grow in the desert?-No, focus. "It is an honor to welcome such a high-ranking member of the Order of the White Lotus. Being a grand master, you must know so many secrets." The old man says. We walks off, me and Uncle follow him. "Now that you've played Pai Sho, are you gonna do some flower arranging? Or someone in this club gonna offer some real help?" I ask Uncle Iroh. "You must forgive my nephew. He is not an initiate, and has little appreciation for the cryptic crafts." He says. (And you wonder why?) This is getting old.
We stop at a door and the old man knocks on it. The tiny window open, "Who knocks at the guarded gate?" A man asks. "One who has eaten the fruit and tasted its mysteries." Uncle answers. The door opens and I walk to enter, but it closes in front of me. Oh, come on. The smaller window opens. "I'm afraid it's members only. Wait out here." Uncle says then closes it. Great. I step back and cross my arms. I see a plant beside me and sniff it, it's not bad. But I hope no one saw that.
I grow bored and sit down on the floor, leaning back on a crate then take out something. The yellow gemstone from that girl. I wonder what she's doing? No doubt protecting the Avatar. (More like trying not lose her sanity.)
(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
Finally, some rest for our feet. And this breeze is wonderful. I rest my hands behind me while leaning back, "The needle on the compass doesn't seem to be pointing north, according to my charts." I hear Katara say. "Take it easy, little lady. I'm sure the sand folks who built this baby know how to get around here." Sokka says dreamily. While I'm annoyed the cactus juice has not worn off yet, he does have a point. I look ahead but see something. I stand up and squint my eyes to get a better view then gasp, "It's pointing at that!" I point ahead at the giant elevated rock. "It must be the magnetic center of the desert." I hear Katara say. "A rock? Yes, let's go!" Toph says.
"Maybe we can find some water there." We head directly to the rock. We stop and walk to the top on a natural-made path. Dawn breaks and provides light, I try to find any civilization only for there to be sand. Dang. Turning around, "Hmm?" Giant holes into the rock. We walk into it one but something is not right, I keep a grip on one of my fans while listening carefully. "I think my head is starting to clear out the cactus juice." Finally. "And look." And eats some weird honey stuff on the walls. He and Momo gag and spit it out, "Tastes like rotten penguin meat. Oh, I feel woozy." My eye twitches, closing my eyes and pinch the bridge of my nose, "You just got off the cactus juice, and the first thing you do is eat some random stuff on the WALLS?!?" I snap.
I am at my limit. "I have a natural curiosity." He says. I'm gonna kill him. (I don't blame you. 😐) "I don't think this is a normal cave. This was carved by something." Carved? We all look around. "Yeah, look at the shape." Aang says. "There's something buzzing in here." Buzzing? Oh, no. "Out. Everyone out!" I push the others to the exit and we run out. "Hornet-vultures!" More appear and surround us.
I take out my fans. One comes at me, I stand in place then step back as it snaps its beak at me then thrust my fan into its eye. It screeches and steps back, I take out my second one and open them both. Adjusting my stance, I step and spin to build momentum then stomp my foot down and deliver a strong swing upwards. The breeze is strong enough to knock the giant bug back and off the cliff, flying off. I really need to thank Suki for picking up on my strength. The ground shakes, "What are you doing?! That rock almost crushed me." Sokka says. "Sorry, I can't tell where they are in the air." Okay, avoid rocks from Toph.
I hear buzzing behind me and I step to the side right as a hornet-vulture passes me. I look down at the ground and get an idea, "Toph, I need dirt!" I shout. Toph bends at the ground and dirt forms around us, I run around and fan them at the creature. It screeches and we move out of the way as it crashes, Toph launches it away by bending an earth pillar under it. I hear screaming and look over at Sokka to see him swinging at nothing. "Sokka, there's nothing there." Katara tells him. "I guess my head is not as clear as I thought." I facepalm. "Okay, we need to get out of here." I lower it but gasp as Momo is snatched. "Momo! I'm not losing anyone else out here." Aang states then flies off.
I put my fans away and take out my bola-knife, "Come on! Katara, help Toph aim." I order. We make our way down. "Toph, shoot a rock right there." We stop and Toph bends rocks at a hornet-vulture. It hits and falls down. "Yeah, you got it!" Sokka cheers. "She got it, right?" He asks. "Yes, now let's keep moving." I tell him, pushing him along. I hear buzzing and swing the rope, hitting it then take out my fan and throw it. It hits its wings and falls down. I catch my fan, "Move, move, move!" (Okay, okay, okay!)
We are almost to the bottom but get surrounded. "On your left!" Katara says and Toph hits one. Shoot, there's too many. But suddenly sand shoots up and forces the hornet-vultures away. It clears up and now sandbenders surround us. Aang lands in front of us. Well, this is going to be fun.
Third Person P.O.V.
Morning arrives as the sun shines. In a town, in a the building filled with plants, Zuko has dozed off while Iroh had his meeting. The door opens, Zuko immediately waking up and assume a defensive stance. "What's going on? The club meeting over?" He asks. Iroh exits and stands beside him, "Everything is taken care of." He answers. He and the old man bow at each other then he looks at Zuko, "We're heading to Ba Sing Se." He tells him. "Ba Sing Se? Why would we go to the Earth Kingdom capital?" Zuko asks in disbelief. "The city is filled with refugees. No one will noticed two more." The old man answers. "We can hide in plain sight there. And it's the safest place in the world from the Fire Nation. Even I couldn't break through the city." Iroh informs. (He's got a point.)
The bell rings as the door opens, a young man enters, "I have passports for our guests, but there are two men out on the street looking for them." He informs. The three fall silent at the news. They look through the narrow opening of the door to see Yu and Xin Fu, "You seen these guys?" The ladder asks a man, holding a wanted poster of Iroh and Zuko. The nephew and uncle share a look.
In the desert, the gang are being confronted by sandbenders. "What are you doing in our land with a sandbender sailer? From the looks of it, you stole it from the Hami tribe." A man says sternly. (Y/N) steps forward to be between the group and the sandbenders, "We didn't steal it. We found it abandoned and buried in the desert." She answers. "We're traveling with the Avatar." Katara informs, holding a hand to hand. "Our bison was stolen, snd we have to get to Ba Sing Se." She adds. The man's face relaxes as he sees Aang. "You dare accuse our people of theft, while you ride in on a stolen sand sailer?" A younger man with long hair tied back in a ponytail accuses defensively.
Toph narrows her eyes at hearing his voice and (Y/N) focuses on him. "We never said anything about accusing... Wait." Her eyes narrow. "Quiet, Ghashiun! No one accused our people of anything. If what they say is true, we must give them hospitality." The man scolds. "Yes, Father." Ghashiun obliges. Toph's eyes widen, "I recognize the son's voice. He's the one that stole Appa." She states. "Are you sure?" Katara asks. "I never forget a voice." Toph states. "You stole Appa! Where is he? What did you do to him?" Aang steps forward and holds his staff at Ghashiun, rage coursing through his being as he glares him down.
"They're lying. They're the thieves!" Ghashiun exclaims. (Y/N) steps forward, glaring at Ghashiun, "We never accused any of you of stealing from us, but you got defensive and aggressive. I bet the reason why that sailer was buried was because Appa was not happy being taken away." She states, her voice low and furious. Aang becomes angry at the thought of Appa hurt and bends a wave of air that destroys a sailer. "Where is my bison?" He demands. (Okay, I'm officially scared. 😰)
Back in the town, the young man opens the door and pulls a wooden wagon carrying two large pots of plants. Xin Fu and Yu enter with the former slamming the door open, causing an overhanging pot to fall and smash on the ground. "Hey, you. Where are these men?" He demands holding the wanted poster. "I got a tip that they're in your shop." He states. "As you can see, no one is here but us." The owner calmly replies. "We know all about your secret back room. Kick it down." Yu states. "Hey, that room is for flowers only." The owner states. Xin Fu kicks it down along. With the earth attached to it, but he finds nothing except a white lotus tile.
"Some unlucky soul has an incomplete Pai Sho set." Yu comments, picking up the tile. Xin Fun grunts in frustration and slaps it away. "Let's go back to finding the girl." He orders. The two leave the building. However, traveling along the dunes, Iroh and Zuko peek out of the pots. They lower back down and continue to hide as they venture out of the desert. (Sneaky~)
Back with the group, Aang glares furiously at the sandbenders. "You tell me where he is, NOW." He bends another powerful gust that destroys another sailer. "What did you do?" The leader asks his son. "I-It wasn't me." Ghashiun continues to deny. "You said to put a muzzle on him." Toph speaks up, tired of him lying. "You muzzled Appa?" That was the last straw and Aang goes into the Avatar State. His eyes and tattoos glow white, he destroys another sailer and Ghashiun becomes scared. "I'm sorry! I didn't know it belong to the Avatar!" He confesses. "TELL ME WHERE APPA IS." Aang demands as multiple voices speak with his own. "I-I traded him to some merchants. He's probably in Ba Sing Se by now. They were gonna sell him there." Ghashiun says.
Aang's eyes narrow at him, "Please, we'll escort you out of the desert. We'll help however we can." Ghashiun pleads. The wind picks up and blows sand around them. "Just get out of here, run!" Sokka shouts, running and pushing Toph to do so. Her first time feeling the power and hearing Aang enter the Avatar State. "Get back! Move!" (Y/N) shouts, she, Sokka, Toph, and Momo running from Aang as he summons a dome of air around him. Katara stays behind as a sand cloud forms.
Everyone braces as the area becomes engulfed with sand, making it impossible to see. Aang floats upwards, rage, grief, fury, and fear courses throughout him. But before he can unleash it all, his arm is grabbed. He snaps his head to look at who it is only to find Katara with a calm and empathetic expression. She gently pulls him down and holds him close in a tight but gentle embrace. Sokka, Toph, and (Y/N) look and see them, (Y/N) frowns in sympathy as she finds tears falling down Aang's face. Katara also sheds tears as she tries to be there for Aang and keep him from making a grave mistake.
The wind dies down and everything clears, Aang's tattoos fade to normal as his rage calms and sorrow fills his heart. (😢) (Y/N) watches it all and close her eyes, she makes a mental vow. To find Appa and reunite him with Aang. She opens her eyes and glares in determination. "Ba Sing Se, here we come."
(Well, there you have it. Will be a while until the next chapter. Until next time! ✌️)
