Chapter 33: Danger.

Divya's POV

I woke up feeling hot and sweaty, I tried twisting around but was fixed in that position. Aryan's hard muscular arms were wrapped tight around me, his iron grip making it hard for me to breath.

After a minute I gently twisted out of his warmth and took a pair of clothes and walked to the bathroom.

As the hot water flowed down my hair trailing down my body, my thoughts drifted to that night, it's been four nights since. . . since I couldn't control the slight tinge of crimson on my cheeks nor the shy smile emerging slowly.

I massaged shampoo in my hair to distract myself but I still slipped into it and recalled every moment fresh as though it was yesterday, my heart fluttered at the thought of his warm hands roaming in my body, his lips nibbling my earlobe, his body pressed to mine.

A sudden knock startled me and I nearly slipped on the floor if it weren't for the shower. I regained my breath and yelled at whoever it was the opposite of the door.

"Amore, you in there?" I heard slight mischief in his voice and rolled my eyes smiling, who else would be in our shower other than me or him but nonetheless, I shouted a yes to him.

I didn't hear him go and turned the water down so that I could hear whatever he was doing, not a second later I heard his voice again,
"What are you doing in there, Amore?" Even though his tone was mischievous I heard the slight gruffness in his voice as if he wished he were in here.

"I'm having a feast in here, babe." I said rolling my eyes at his antics.

"Want me to come and help you?" He asked flirtatiously.

"I thought you had a meeting today," I said trying hard not to stutter.

"It can wait if I am needed in there." He said and I could hear the smirk in his voice.

"I think I could use some help scrubbing my back. . . but then I'll do it myself, you have a meeting to attend right." My voice is breathless and inviting as I tried not to laugh.

"I would have smashed this door down and done things to you, you were imagining in that pretty little head of yours if it weren't for my gentlemanliness." He growled gruffly, butterflies erupted in my stomach as his voice enough was needed to make me aroused for him.

I didn't respond not trusting my voice anymore, a little part of me was relieved that he respected my privacy but a part of me wanted him to break this door down and have his way with me.

By the time I was done scrubbing and drying my hair I heard the bedroom door close and after a minute I poked my head out just to make sure that he really was gone, Once I was sure I slipped into the closet and sorted out my clothes for today.

After I was done I contemplated whether I should tie my hair up or let it be but settled on tieing them in a loose plait, I liked the feeling of wet tendrils of my hair flowing around me, kissing my cheeks.

I walked to the window and saw the sky, dark clouds loomed above signalling the oncoming rain. The air was chilly making me warm myself by running my hands around myself. My thoughts drifted back to Aryan's not so secret meeting with Callum and The boys.

It was hard not to notice it when I felt him slip out of the bed at odd hours of the night or sometimes he wouldn't be in the bed in the mornings whenever I tried to approach him on that matter he distracted me and changed the topic, I was bound to get suspicious, curious after all that.

My stomach grumbled taking me out of my thoughts, I patted my stomach as I walked to the kitchen, on my way I stumbled on the same door where all of them were disappearing. I contemplated if I should just stomp in and ask what they were hiding but decided to resume my path just then the door opened and Aryan walked out with Borris just a step behind him.

Borris shoes scraping against the floor were the only sounds other than their hushed whispers.

They seemed to be discussing an important matter as they didn't even notice that I was standing right there, it was until Callum walked out and greeted me with Andrew in tow that they saw me.

There were some files in Andrews hands which tightened when he saw me glancing at them.

Callum saw it and hugged me swiftly distracting me the next moment when I glanced up Andrew was not there.

Aryan grunted possessively at Callum and detangled me from him and wrapped his arm around my waist tugging me to him.

I didn't speak anything just mumbled that I was hungry and then I was being led to the kitchen.

Today there was a middle eastern breakfast and there was a buzz in the kitchen. Callum kissed Nicole as he approached her and everyone settled. Alexa poured out mushroom soup and passed on to everyone while Nina and Kyla helped themselves with the grilled lamb. My eyes drifted to Aryan who was feeding Emma as she made weird animated hand gestures.

I eyed the hummus in front of me hungrily and dipped in my pita bread, savouring its taste as it blessed my taste buds. There were breadsticks near me which were filled by zaatar and cheese, the lamb on the other side was juicy and made a sizzling sound as I cut through it. There were falafel sandwiches with a jar of fresh orange juice and salads placed at the end of the table.

An hour later we were done with our breakfast and were talking among ourselves when Aryan's phone rang. He excused himself and spoke hushed into his phone I didn't miss the sly glances Callum threw to him. He said that he had to leave for an emergency and all of them followed out with him.

An idea struck me, a risky idea but it was worth it. This is my only opportunity to find out what exactly is going on behind those closed doors and I was not letting it go waste.

I wiped my mouth with a tissue and slipped out discreetly, once I was out of their view I ran as fast as I could to that room.

I glanced at the hallway and walked in when I saw that no one was in view.

The door was unlocked and I frowned disapprovingly at their ignorance. But stepped in nonetheless.

I switched on the torch of my phone and glanced around the room, the table had files scattered on it. I stepped in closing the door softly behind me, I tried to look for anything but there wasn't anything important just few bank information and bills scattered. The drawers had wrappers of chocolate and chewing gum other than that there was nothing useful in here.

I huffed frustratingly as glanced around I was going to give up until I saw a paper on the chair and few unclipped on the ground. I picked them up and examined them but my heart skipped a beat when I heard footsteps.

I hastily stuffed the papers in my shirt and looked around frantically for a place to hide, under the table there was no place and I was too big to fit under it. That left me with the cupboard and thankfully it was big enough to fit me. I stumbled as I ran to it and adjusted myself in it.

The door opened just as I slipped in, I clamped a hand on my mouth and slowed my breathing, there were sounds of shoes scraping against the floor and then rummaging of papers.

The position I was in was so compromising as I couldn't move even an inch or the person would grow suspicious. After a minute I heard the door slam shut and sighed in relief, just as I was about to get out the door opened again this time coffee and ocean-like scent hit me and my eyes widened as I realized that this person is Aryan, of all the people it just had to be him.

I heard him talking to someone angrily,
"What do you mean it's not there? It has to be there."

"I told you she can't know about it, we can solve this on our own. I don't want to drag her into this." He hissed.

"Get it done as soon as possible and if she gets a wing about it you are dead meat." He snapped angrily.

I felt sweat trickling down my face and legs paining because of the small space but stayed quite. He looked through some papers and was almost out the door until something touched my back and I jerked forward. I cursed myself inwardly and stayed still.

My heart hamming in my chest and sweat trickling down my face, I think he brushed it as his imagination and went on his way until my phone let out a ping sound and that was it. I hurriedly silenced it but it was too late, he had noticed it, he got a call and he received it,

"I'll call you back later." He said suspiciously and I heard a click of a gun.

A scream escaped me as he opened the cupboard and pointed his gun to me.

"Oh shit!" I whispered in horror.

"Shit indeed." He said grimly as he lowered his gun.
