chapter 4

Red Tail's eyes scanned the room frantically, his anger growing with every passing moment. "Where is it?" he demanded, his voice low and menacing. He was searching for his father's ring, a family heirloom that held great sentimental value.
Just then, Rachel Andrews, his mate, walked into the living room. Her eyes widened in shock as she took in the scene before her. "Red Tail, what's wrong?" she asked, her voice soft with concern.
Red Tail's gaze locked onto hers, his eyes blazing with fury. "My father's ring is missing," he growled, his voice barely above a whisper.
Rachel's face went pale as she realized the significance of the ring. "Oh no, Red Tail. I hadn't noticed it was missing. Let's search the house together."
But before they could begin their search, Red Tail's body betrayed him. His right ankle gave out, and he collapsed to the floor with a loud thud. "Errrrr, my stinking ankle is hurting again. Grrrrrrrrrr!" he shouted in pain and frustration.
River Moon and Little Star, Red Tail's two oldest daughters, rushed into the room, concern etched on their faces. "Daddy, are you okay?" River Moon asked, taking off her headphones and silencing the loud music that had been blasting from them.
Little Star, who had been listening to the same music at full volume, looked up at her father with worry in her eyes. Red Tail smiled weakly at his daughters, trying to reassure them. "Yes, my little ones. I'm fine. It's just my past injuries from back when I rescued your mom from those bad men."
Crystal Green walked into the room silently, her eyes locked onto Red Tail's. "Girls, come here please. I need to talk to Daddy for a bit," she said softly.
The girls nodded and walked over to their mother, who led them out of the room. Red Tail looked up at Crystal Green, his eyes still flashing with anger. "Who harmed you now? I'll kill 'em. Just tell me or show me," he growled, painfully getting up from the floor.
But Crystal Green placed a calming hand on his chest, stopping him from getting up. "Dear, no one has hurt me. But you're hurting yourself, and you're stressed. I love you, my Red Tail. Please calm down."
As she spoke, she revealed that she had found his father's ring, and Red Tail's eyes widened in relief. Crystal Green smiled and leaned forward, her body covering his. "I want you to understand this, please. We will have more children soon. I want you to give me more kids and love me instead of going to territory battles."
Red Tail's gaze locked onto hers, his expression softening. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close. "I'll try, my love. For you and our family, I'll try.”
