I opened the door of the car when one amazing scent hit my mental feet right out from underneath me.

It was addicting. Almost like that fresh dose of adrenaline that pumps through your veins while you're falling at a forceful speed towards the earth with nothing but a piece of cloth to keep you alive, that both scares you and excites you to the core of your being.

"Mate." I mumbled as all my senses wanted me to lunge forward and run with inhuman speed to where the breathtaking aroma came from, but I kept myself in control...

My inner wolf clawed at my skin, the desperation of wanting to be close to our mate quite obvious, but I kept her locked away.

Suddenly, gravity wasn't what kept me glued to the ground, it didn't even come from the earth anymore - it came from inside the bloody diner.

We made our way inside the diner which sat on the border between our pack and the Nirvanian - Pack who we were meeting; a neutral place, as I mentioned before.

My nose picked up that the scent of my mate was much stronger here now. I searched, and I guess my eyes darkened by the way Liam chuckled while my eyes passed over him in search of my 'point of interest' and then centered on the man with the booming aura of dominance.

As I saw him, I fully comprehended his existence. My mate; his face perfectly chiselled as if by the gods themselves, his eyes an enchanting lush green colour with a mysterious look to them as his eyebrow ridges stood out a tad, his nose perfect, his lips so plush and kissable with his head of dark brown hair all neatly done... He completely took my breath away.

He caught sight of me from across the room and before I could even blink properly, he was already stroking my cheek as he whispered sweetly in my ear, "My angel, you found me. I've waited for you for so long that I've almost lost all hope." His soft touch beguiled me and my inner wolf purred at his magical touch.

His hot breath left me trembling with pleasure as it danced across my skin.

He placed his forehead against mine and whispered, "I've missed you so much." When his lips met mine it set every atom of me on fire and solidified my instant love for him like lava flowing through my veins; my heart jumping as my knees grew weak.

"Alpha Luke." my dad's voice dispersing my bliss as he cleared his throat making me blush as I realise that we've been kissing for quite some time.

And how I bloody wish we didn't have to stop.

"Alpha John, Beta Liam." my mate said, nodding his head in acknowledgement as he straightened out his suit and put his tie back in place before clearing his throat. "Please, take a seat." he said whilst gesturing to the booth in the far back corner, clearly meaning business.

I scooted in next to my father and Liam while Luke and his Beta sat across from us.

A little blonde human suddenly came over to take our orders, her clumsiness instantly getting on my last nerve because her constant bending over to pick up her stupid pencil caused her extremely short skirt to creep up her legs and reveal the hem of her black lace panties.

By the time she had finished taking our orders, my lip that was stuck between my teeth had drawn blood.

I was daydreaming during the meeting as I chewed on my salad while thoughts of how unexpected finding my mate was flit through my mind.

Just yesterday I was down in the dumps, wondering if he actually existed, and here I was sitting across from him. It felt so surreal, the reality of it all leaving me a little breathless and baffled.

Every once in a while, Liam would mind-link me silly remarks like "Lexi and Luke, sitting in the tree K I S S I N G."

Real mature for a twenty-year-old.

Luke winked at me now and then while he would playfully kick my foot beneath the table as if to reassure me that he was real.

As my dad and Liam stood up to leave, questions fired up my throat towards my dad, "Can I leave with Luke? What about the border? Am I still allowed to visit the pack? Who will be the next Alpha now? Liam, will we still have our time together, you are my best friend, you know?"

My dad looked at me somewhat amused "My little girl, you're Luke's mate now but you are always welcome to cross the border, you can see Liam and the pack whenever you please, you're still family!" His words had me sighing in relief before jumping into my dad's arms as he said "I'll have a driver drop your things off at the border if you like, be safe my angel girl! I love you. Be safe and happy, always." he breathed into my hair and with a kiss on the forehead my dad was out the door, obviously trying to hide the tears that were running down his cheeks.

"It's about time pip-squeak. I was thinking you'd never find him or that you actually did scare him away with your constant obsessing and become one of those old mean cat-ladies with no teeth and big scary fucking eyeballs that see everything...Yuck! -" said Liam, ruffling my hair "See you around Luna Lexi" he grinned before leaving.

I waved them goodbye and blew kisses as they drove off, their absence already making me a little sad. The sudden warm tingles spreading across my waist making me smile as I became jelly in Luke's arms while he kissed my neck.

"Raphael, please be there when the Luna's things arrive. I don't want my mate to miss anything." Luke said to his Beta - a tall, well built guy with what seemed to be a built-in smug smile, large yet kind eyes. He was quite attractive - but nowhere near as attractive as Luke.

Raphael nodded his head and bowed slightly before he left.

Once Raphael was gone, Luke escorted me to his car and opened the door for me to slip into the passenger seat before he made his way to the other side, got in and pulled away...

About twenty minutes passed by before we drove up to a beautiful large house in the middle of the tall trees.

I got out of the car and before I knew it, Luke hoisted me into the air and held me like a new bride while he carried me inside.

His body brushed butterflies into my heart and lungs, letting joyful giggles escape me as I stared into his green eyes.

He was so perfect, flawless, so heavenly, so forbidden, so breathtakingly amazing and I felt honoured to have him as my mate.

He laid me down on a large, fluffy bed and kissed me so intently, pouring every emotion we had into that kiss.

He kissed my cheeks, down my jawline and onto my neck before pausing. "Why did you stop?" screamed my inner wolf, her cries falling on deaf ears.

"I would so love to mark you right now. But I'd prefer you get to know me better before we rush into this." He whispered, tearing himself away from me as his eyes held nothing but sincerity.

After that, we spoke for hours about ourselves and our lives. The more I learnt about him, the more I realised what a hard life he's had and how hard he has had to work to get where he is today.

Not only is he Alpha, but he's also the one who has been funding and organising for the Packs territories not to be destroyed by humans and for it to be restricted as far as possible from their reach.

Luke found more interest in me and the more I said, the more he seemed to be mesmerised by me.

I also noticed that we had a lot in common.
The wonderful creature that sat in front of me was not only perfect on the outside but so perfect on the inside too.

After a few hours of pure talking about just anything and everything that would come to mind, we felt tired.

Since it was 3 am, we headed off to bed; Luke kissing my forehead before whispering a sweet goodnight to me.

I laid in my bed in his guest room - in one of his shirts, which was big enough to look like a nightgown - feeling empty because of his absence beside me.

I tried falling asleep in all kinds of positions but I just couldn't sleep knowing that he wasn't next to me.

So I pulled myself out of bed and strolled over to his bed only to see his sleeping form in the darkness and got in bed next to him. His warmth seeping into my skin calming me and my wolf down instantly to the point where we danced on the edge of sleep.

Suddenly he turned around and pulled me closer to him before nuzzling my neck and holding me tightly.

His calm breathing and slow heartbeat put my mind at ease and before I knew it, I was fast asleep.
