Chapter Six

Chapter six: Let me fix it with a joke. (Pt. 1)

My fingers drummed a beat against the desk as the substitute teacher spoke out about many different things I didn't have the energy to focus on, my throat felt dry as I kept replaying the scene from the other day in my head. The talk Jean gave me about it only made it worse, the memories fresh in my mind like the strawberries they serve on your ice cream as a topping.

~

The said boy was still as he held his side and hiccuped, wiping his eyes and straightening his posture, only to cry more and go back into his old position, and instead of doing the right thing and apologising to his dumbass; I stood their and watched. Eventually I couldn't take it anymore and spoke up. "Go home already..." I said aloud, he jumped from fear and whipped around to face me, his once bright cerulean eyes dimmed and red, his cherry lips seemed bruised around the area where his tooth embedded itself and his chest raising and falling rapidly.

"I-"

"Save it, Armin.." I the walked away, I didn't look back even when his small light sobs could be heard as he entered back into the library, and I hate how I hated myself for not going back and apologising to him.

~

I groaned loudly and slammed my head forwards onto the desk, the loud bang silenced the class and the teacher herself, my forehead was throbbing and I instantly regretted that action. Connie had jumped but quickly wiped the corner of his lip to rid the skin of his saliva before plopping his head back down onto the deal as well. Creating another loud bang that drew attention our seat in the back, although they all focused their attention on us, none of them said a word. "Yes? Is there something on my face?" I sassed, quickly most of the students turned around to face away from me, and the few who haven't are the class horse and the rainbow girl who just had to make sure everyone is okay. Eventually they turned around but the teacher still faced me, an annoyed look on her face told me she wasn't happy about what just happened. Her dark brown eyes were narrowed and defined by the black eyeliner she wore, her thin cherry coloured lips were pulled into a line and her thin eyebrows were furrowed, clearly: this bitch was pissed.

"Is there a problem..." Her sentenced died off as she waited for me to give her my name, lazy bastard would've known if she had just taken the attendance earlier. But no~she likes to do it at the end just in case the people who aren't here come in late, it's not even supposed to be some that way!

"Eren." I hiss quickly, as she has drawn more attention to me and quite frankly I haven't been in the mood for anyone's bullshit since that thing with Armin happened. I mean, it's like making a baby cry, it's either really fun and cute or really sad and heartbreaking. And from my mood I guess we can all tell which one is the mood you'll be in after making him cry.

"Well, is there a problem, Eren?" I nod my head, hoping that after that she'll get the message that I really rather not speak. "Well, would you like to share it with the class." 'This hoe.' I shake my head and she scuffs. "If there is a problem maybe one of these kids can help you solve it." I cringed, seeing that she was substituting for our math teacher just made a terrible pun, her perfect tanned skin grew a bit rubicund around her cheek from laughing to herself for a few moments before I spoke.

"Now I've got two problems." I whine inwardly, she cocks her eyebrow.

"Don't mumble under your breath, it's rude, and don't sass me because that is also rude."

"Just leave me alone." I say, rolling my eyes and slamming my head back onto the desk, once again waking Connie from his slumber.

"Dude..." He says, looking at me with an unamused glint in his eyes.

"Sorry." I mutter.

"Outside, Mr. Eren, with me." The substitute says, her heels clicking against the floor as she walks out the classroom and waits for me in the halls, her hips having swayed with each sash step she took. Honestly, if she wasn't such a bitch, I'd try to tap that if you know what I mean. Once more I can feel the eyes of the students, waiting for me to get up and out of my seat so they can silently judge me with hatred.

"Can I fucking help you?" I say aloud, they stood quiet, although a few of them did make a few faces at my attitude. Glaring at one of those students, as I walked towards the door I said: "If you weren't such a nosy fucker, I wouldn't have to get angry with you, now stop catching an attitude or I wipe it right off of your face." The kid watch me walk out of the class with fear evident in his eyes. Quickly I stormed out of the classroom and into the hallway, ready to either explain myself to the teacher or give her a piece of my mind, either way I will probably end up scolded.

--- Time Skip: Lunch ---

I roll my eyes and Jean, Connie, and I make our way over towards the back of the school. Our lunch table in cite as we swerve through the other teens in the Cafeteria, quickly I sat down and glared at my so called "friends" as they laughed their asses off. "I-I mean...," Connie took a pause to breath, "she fucking slapped you." He cackled loudly, catching attention from a few of the people around us. "And...and you fucking slapped her back..." Jean was more of a silently laugher, but he made the most atrocious face while doing so; so I was glad to see that he had rested his head against the table.

"All that matters is that she's the one who got in trouble for putting her hands on a student. I got away clean." I say pushing my hands together so that my palms faced them before pulling them apart as though I was wiping something.

"Dude...," Jean starts as he tried to calm himself down from laughing, "You're such a savage." I chuckle and shake my head from their reaction, normally I wouldn't hit a girl but she was an obvious feminist so if you want equality there it is bitch: You slap me, I slap you.

"Connie! Connie, Connie, Connie,..." We hear a feminine voice that belonged to none other then Sasha as she darted towards our table.

"Yeah?" He asks her in response, half of a hand full of mashed potatoes and mystery meat lodged in his mouth.

"I need your help." She says quickly.

"With what?" In response to his question, she stopped all movements and just stared at him, and he stared right back. Their eyebrows and noses moving, Jean and I silently watched the mental conversation before Connie gasps and covers his mouth. Sasha nodding her head quickly, obviously something significant going on between the two. "We have to go, bye guys, I'll see you after school!"

"You'll only see me after school!" Jean calls out after them, and I cock my brow at his response.

"I'll be seeing him too, Jean." He shakes his head.

"You've got tutoring." Jean deadpans rather quickly. My stomach twists into knots at his words, guilt seemingly eating me alive and tearing my stomach to shreds as the memory plays over in my head. His weak and pained voice, extremely hoarse from having cried too much, his blotchy red face which was stained with tear streaks. His much weaker figure that shrivelled in fear because of me, but it was his fault too, no? He was the one coming on to me, but I did get too angry, that I will admit to. Gosh, I could've just screamed I'm straight or better yet, have written it on my forehead with his very own pen. That could've made it clearer in a less harsh way.

"Fuck-No." I say, shaking my head, to which Jean snapped his fingers in front of my to get my attention.

"He was fucking crying his eyes out, because a certain homophob. wanted to jump to conclusions. You owe him an apology-"

"I know I do..." I groaned in defeat, laying my head on the table and whined inwardly.

"And," Jean continues as though I had never cut him off, " you're still dumb as fuck, you need his help whether you want to admit it or not. Besides, he said he would still tutorial after I convinced him it would be worth it in the long run." He finishes, I groan once again, shaking my head at him.

"Fine, just fucking--fine..." I mutter angrily.

"You better apologies to him too,"
I nod my head, "I mean it you asshat."

"Yeah yeah, whatever..."

Sorry for the long wait for those of you who wanted the chapter update sooner, I didn't know how to end this chapter and every time I did it was like complete and utter shit so I decided that for this one time, I will a chapter into two parts. Also, I wanted to be a little mean and have you wait even longer to find out if he fixes things :-P

Just in case, to clear some confusion over the whole Connie and Sasha thing, it was about food that got stuck in a locker.
