×Chapter 29×
A/N:
G'day everyone!
Before I start this Chapter, I'd like to say that the video is something that I made about this book. I guess it's a trailer (?) Yes, I know it's not the best Trailer in the world, but it is my first time. Also, I know the ending was kinda like: what. Lmao. Who knows, I may try to re-make it in the future.
Link to video if it doesn't play;

My body ached badly like I had been punched a million times and kicked a billion more, before being smashed into the ground repetitively. My body hurt more than when I got stabbed in the abdomen.
I bit my tongue to hold back a scream as Ratchet took blood from my veins, it was the quickest way he could think of at the time and for once it wasn't the needle fear I had that made me want to scream. It was the abnormal gruesome pain I felt from it.
My hand clutched Ironhides holoforms hand tightly, he now sat next to me instead of William. This was because if I clutched Williams I could possibly infect him with Energon poisoning.
Ratchet has been rushing around the med-bay like a maniac, trying to figure out what to do and how to do it. Which ended up being a lot of curse words and shit being thrown off his large desk. This wasn't a very reassuring sight at all.
William on the otherhand sat on another Medical bed, never allowing his eyes to leave me in fear that something would happen. During this, Optimus had to excuse himself as General Morshower and The Autobot Liaison, Galloway, had called for him.
Optimus is going to try and keep this situation as low key as possible. I couldn't possibly thank him enough.
Taking the needle filled with my blood away, Ratchet quickly tested my blood. Ironhide grunted at this and looked around the room uneasily, trying not to show the worry and fear he felt. That was unnerving.
My stomach felt like it was twisting and bubbling madly, I found myself gagging on the air like a madman suddenly. This sudden turn of events made Ironhide jump with horror. "Ratchet! Hazel is...convulsing..." Ironhide stammered out with horror, making Ratchet spin around with wide optics.
I let go of Ironhides hand instantly, my hands flying to my mouth out of instinct to try and hold back the rising burning vile I could feel going up my throat.
"I think she is going to spew!" William shouted out the obvious as he jumped to Ratchets desk, trying to grab something for me to spew in.
Ratchet waved his servos around, unsure on how to react to this, before grabbing a trash can with his digits that William held up to him and threw it to Ironhide who swiftly caught the metal can in his human hands.
"Give it to her!" Ratchet demanded out the order with startlement. "I certainly don't want her lubricants all over my floor!" Ratchet cringed slightly at the image.
Ironhide passed it to me instantly at this, last thing he wanted was an angry medic on his tailpipe. I quickly grabbed the metal bucket, hands shaking like crazy since my nerves seemed to fail me. All my strength seeming to fade away like water going down a drain.
In seconds, I hurled my head forward as gooey blackish red liquid came out of my mouth. I panted heavily before finding myself spewing up more liquid like no tomorrow. A never ending stream came out, my gut ached with pain.
"What the hell is that!" William freaked out, especially noticing the colour of the liquid as it dribbled off the corners of my mouth. My teeth going slightly red.
I groaned out while placing the bucket beside me, before quickly returning to the bucket. Clutching it to me like it was the most important thing to me in the world and at this moment of time, it was.
"Hazels body is being replaced with Energon... Energon doesn't mix well with red cells that are carried in the Plasma..." Ratchet muttered out, pausing as Ironhide gave him a confused look.
"Meaning?" Ironhide pushed, optic ridges narrowed in confusion.
"The Plasma in human blood normally makes up of 55% of your blood volume." Ratchet stated logically, voice sounding worried. "Our Energon is so powerful it will make your blood try and escape the body."
Ironhide nodded at this, now understanding. "That is why it makes Hazel... spew."
At that, I spewed out some more contents. Proving their point even more. "Great." My voice was muffled by the bucket. The aching in my body had become less painful, but I still felt horrible.
My eyes dragged to the blakey blue veins buldging from my skin. These veins started on my arms and hands, now spreaded up all way to my shoulders and my head felt like the heaviest thing I have ever carried.
"Then what will happen once she spews up every last drop of her blood?" Ironhide asked warily, as he moved a bit away from me since I wouldn't stop spewing.
"She's going to need another bucket." William spoke up instantly when he noted my buckets situation. The Captain climbed down Ratchets frame skillfully, earning a pointed look from the CMO as he did so.
Ratchet now looked at Ironhide, his voice lowering to a sympathetic tone. "It will kill her organs... Like acid..."
I looked up from my spew bucket at this. Eyes dulling at the very thought I was dying right this moment. "Then?" Ironhide dared to question, needing to know. We all needed to know.
In seconds, William came back with about 4 large buckets. The male threw them up to Ironhide whom easily caught them "Thanks dad." I grumbled out while the soldier gave me a thumbs up.
Ratchet helped William onto the Medic bed, not in the mood to be climbed all over like a Jungle Gym. Ratchet turned back to the topic at hand and vented harshly.
"I think we all know what is going to happen next old friend" Ratchet told Ironhide softly. Turquoise optics softening at the holoform known as the Weapon Specialist. "-and... We have to prepare for the worst."
My brown eyes slowly looked up at Ratchet with sadness. "Ratchet..." I finally spoke up, voice quiet and fearful. I knew if I spoke too loud I might cause myself to spew again, which I didn't want.
This feeling is horrible. It felt like I had been cut open and left to dry out until I was completely empty.
"Yes Hazel?" Ratchet asked, optics looking at me in the eyes for the first time. Waiting.
"Is there any hope for me to survive? Like... at all?" I asked quietly, my watering eyes not leaving his optics.
I wanted the truth. Not the possibility, not the chances. I wanted the flat out yes or no. No matter how much it hurt and no matter how much it pranged me in the chest, even if it made my heart feel like it was being smacked back and forth in my rib cage like some basketball.
I knew that this could be it. I knew that I might have to say goodbye to Sarah, William, Annabelle... The Autobots and most importantly Ironhide. I didn't want the pity, I didn't want the sugar coating. I wanted them to treat me as normal, as Hazel Lennox. Not Hazel Thomasan.
I got the second chance that so many people deserved and I still felt I wasn't one of those people.
I didn't deserve the second chance and I sure as hell knew it. I was an unappreciative person when I first met these guys. I drown in my self loathing and selfish manners constantly, I didn't help myself at all. I relied on everyone else to help me...
I was too busy being angry at the world and I should've done so many things a lot better than I did. Tried harder at School, give William and Sarah a chance to be my parents, heck, allowed Annabelle to hold my hand as we crossed that road. Let Sarah embrace me with a hug or sit down with William because all he wanted to do... was talk to me.
-But I didn't.
I got close to Ironhide and he got close to me... maybe because we saw so many things that were alike in us, but then again we clashed so much because of it. It was like fire vsing fire... or fire vsing the wind. We just ignited each other so much that one of us always ended up bursting and we needed that water to calm us down...
The Lennox Family is our water.
Ratchet vented softly at me, his sapphire optics glowing softly with dismay. While my black pupils displayed the light of my life slowly fading away...
"No."
