×Chapter 21×

SONG: Eminem - Love the way you lie.

•~••~•

Ratchet and mines conversation seemed to come to an abrupt end when we were interrupted with a distressed William.

This easily caught my attention, alarm in my eyes at the sight of William not being his usual calm and collected. I thought he would be mad at me, but no, the Captain was in obvious confliction.

"William?" Ratchet was the first to break the silence, before the medic was caught off guard by the sudden rush of soldiers that passed the doorway. They were obviously heading to the rec-room.

Something has happened. My mind raced, trying to think of what. I knew the Decepticons were out...they were attacking any Autobot or ally of said cause. My mind halted.

My friends.

"Hazel- Ratchet" William finally spoke out with a frown on his lips. I tilted my head in question, uneased at the silence. Why won't he just spit it out?

By now I was forcing myself out of the medical bed. "Something bad has happened" William said very seriously, trying to keep me calm.

My heart stopped as the words flew out of his mouth

"Decepticons attacked Arcee on the way to Nathans residence, the results are a lot worse-"

The rest of Williams explanation was to been blocked out. I had found the energy and sudden adrenaline to move, even as my body ached. In seconds, I found my self running down the corridor, ignoring Ratchets protests and Williams calls.

Tears were threatning to spill my eyes at an unsteady rate. I bursted through the Autobot Hanger with much force, the sight was horrid. I was greeted by many gloomy bots, NEST Soldiers stood back solemny. William and Ratchet soon appeared behind me.

"Oh no." Ratchet muttered in dread.

"Arcee..." I whispered out loudly, breaking the silence that was drowning us all. My brown eyes noted the limo and battered frame of the Autobot, Offlined, brutally.

My fingers twitched uncontrollably by my sides, I looked around anxiously in hope for an alive brown haired boy somewhere in this gloomy room. They couldn't be both gone, they couldn't.

I received nothing I wished for.
Instead I received the opposite.

My hands flew to my mouth to hold back the whimper, but failed, the whimper left my shakey lips. Especially when I spotted the familiar frame of Nathan wrapped in a zipped up black bag.

This was all my fault.

Chromia from afar stared over her offline sister with sorrow and fury. Slowly, she rolled over to see Arcee's offline charge, her sapphire optics showing anger and hatred. Digits clawing at her paint-job, she obviously fought back vicious words.

My legs shook uncontrollably, hair sticking to my face from the tears that left my eyes. The scene was awful. Aneska stood across the room with Jazz, eyes hidden by the sunglasses she wore, but I could tell she was crying too and for once she had no words to say.

"I told you, they shouldn't have Been involved with the autobots" Galloway spoke up quietly. Knowing this had to be address, shaking his head, he had entered the hanger when he recieved the bad news.

Ironhide grunted, shooting a death glare at Galloway and if only looks could kill. Optimus rubbed a servo over his frowning face-plates, unsure what to say at the time.

Everything was happening so suddenly.

"I will get police to notify Nathan's Parents about the accident" General Morshower spoke up next. This had to be dealt with, now. "we will have to label it as a motorbike accident."

My gut dropped at this in dread. That wasn't right, it would tear Nathans parents apart if they ever knew of said lie. They couldn't do that... They have... They will.

The silence was a message of respect, but in said silence. All I could feel was anguish and regret, if only I didn't take Nathan along to Mission City...

He didn't want to go in the first place.

It is my fault.

What have I done?

I watched, Nathan was soon to be carried away, but I couldn't get nyself to move. Even with my abdomen protesting with my length of standing. My body felt empty, shock cursed through my body.

Ratchet vented and soon carried the remains of the female Autobot, known as Arcee away. Obviously he would deal with the Autobot part.

Soon after they left, the room started to come alive again. As if nothing had happened moments before, which was true, the Government made this situatuon into nothing.

Aneska soon went home, without saying a word to me. Which hurt the most. All I saw was her bloodshot blue eyes when she took of her glasses and I got the message instantly with a single glance.

'I regret all of this'

Me too.

William patted me on the shoulder trying to be comforting, my shoulders dropped. Amber eyes just as bloodshot, I couldn't look William in the face. So I kept my eyes down. Depression hitting me like waves, drowning me.

Galloway sighed. Walking to us after discussing with Morshower about Nathan and the Decepticon situation. "I am sorry for your loss autobots, soldiers... Hazel." The liason spoke genuinely, softly. His aging hands held thick paper work that was obviously going to cover the... accident.

I couldn't help, but appreciate his words. "Thank you." I choked out, the words had slightly dulled the ahing pain.

Galloway may be an asshole, but in the end, he was only doing his job; which was protecting human race and our planet first. He was pretty damn good at it.

A woman suddenly appeared from behind him. My heart dropped as I recognised who it was. "Oh, right, it seems a woman would like to talk to her daughter?" Galloway announced with confusion, looking at me with an raised eyebrow.

My heart seemed to slowly fall apart. Piece by piece. Nothing ever seemed to end today. I can't deal with this.

William snapped, having enough of everything. "You aren't allowed to be here, we have already spoken about this!" The Captain suddenly yanked me behind his body, in a protective matter. I winced in pain, body not liking said action.

"Hazel wants no contact with you at the moment and is at the age to make such choices." William continued his point, eyes showing that he was fed up with it all. Today is such an awful day.

"She is my daughter!" My mother protested, getting worked up by what William had said. "I made her; gave birth to her! so never, ever, will she be your child!" She spat out the words like acid, her pale face flushing from anger, her brown hair messy.

Make the yelling stop.

"That doesn't automatically make you a parent! A parent stays for their child!" William barked back angrily, moving towards the erratic woman without a single ounce of fear.

Make the arguments stop.

Epps gave William a look. "Calm down William. This conversation needs to be done elsewhere man."

Williams anger vanished for a moment at Epps logical comment, but said anger came back twice as bad when my mum spoke up again.

"Hazel doesn't want to stay with you. She wants me, you have brainwashed her! That is what the government does...manipulates peoples minds!" My mum seethed out, before looking at me with her harsh green eyes. Pleadingly. "You want to come home to me, right, Hazel?"

Make them stop.

"We don't brainwash people for starters!" William cried out in astonishment, calm nature vanishing again. "Plus, Hazel would prefer us over you, anyday-anytime! Aren't I correct Hazel?" William fired back, before looking at me with exasperation.

It never stops.

All gazes seemed to rest on me. The humilating scene had caught the attention of the Autobots too, their sharp hearing could pick up a pin dropping. Ironhides gaze met my torn one.

Said gaze made my mind snap and I found myself running, escaping. Fight and Flight option chosen instantly.

Flight.
Get away
Have to leave.
Run.

Not looking back, I ran down the many corridors with a slight limp. My body hated me, but my mind hated me the most.

Shouts and screams followed me wherever I went, no matter how far I got and no matter how fast...They always seem to catch up and find me. Mocking me.

I burst through the back doors and into the training field before me. The place where me and Ironhide sit at whenever we had serious talks. I didn't stop running though, I ran across the training field. I couldn't stop. I had to get away. The yelling...the-

I suddenly tripped, the air left my lungs from the sudden shift. My feet catching on a log that I didn't see. I faceplanted the dirt ground with a loud yelp. I forced myself to my knees, limbs shaking from the sudden crash.

"Ow..." I whispered out, blood dribbling out the small cut on my lip made from the fall. My abdomen hurt badly from the harsh impact and I wondered if I had ripped my wound open.

Ratchet would kill me if I didn't do so myself. A tear slid down my cheek, I attempted to get back onto my feet. Pushing, I cried out when my limbs gave out on me, I was ready to hit the ground again, but was stopped by arms wrapping around my body.

I screamed out in fury and sadness, tears running down my face. "God damn it Ironhide!" I knew it was him, the males forehead pressed against the back of my head. "I got you." Was his response.

"Stop running." Ironhides spoke softly in my ear. His hold tight, unrelenting. I sunk back down onto my knees and rested against the holoforms chest.

While everyone was still breathing and living... I seem to have found myself stuck in time, frozen in the inky blackness of loneliness and pain...

Ironhide always seemed to be the light fighting through my darkness. He doesn't allow the darkness to stop him without a fight.

I can't loose him too.

"Don't leave me please."

It was silent. My heart ached until Ironhide spoke up.

"I won't."

He was calm and collected. Serious and dedicated.

"That's what they all say Ironhide, but you can't avoid death."

I was angry with the world and a mess. Tears leaked my eyes, on the edge of giving up.

"Watch me."
