×Chapter 13×
Song: System of a down - Aerials
•~••~•
I yawned tiredly as I sat in the back of Ironhide's Alt-form, we were finally heading home and I was exhausted from it all. I craved my bed drastically.
A lot had happened today. I had discovered the Autobots and that my new adopted family works with them...I also had a deep heart-to-spark conversation with my new Guardian.
I still couldn't believe my life right now or my luck.
From what I have been told; The war between the Autobots and Decepticons is still happening. I had snorted at how Ironhide described their enemy as 'Punk Ass Decepeticons'.
"So..." William decided to speak up while he pretended to drive. Making amusement flare up in my eyes, it was funny how Ironhide hated William driving.
"Hmm?" I hum loudly in response, I turned my head to look at William who seemed nervous.
"...What do you think?" Will asks hesitantly while drumming his fingers on the steering wheel, he was looking at me in the corner of his eyesight. Eyebrow raised and all. "About the Autobots that is...do you like them?"
I paused at that. This was an awkward conversation to be having inside an Autobot.
"They seem cool..." I slowly responded. I personally still had mixed feelings about this whole subject, but they didn't need to know that.
How do I know that I could trust the Autobots? I don't. Anything could happen. What if they are actually the bad ones, but are just pretending to be the good guys?
I mentally slapped myself across the head. I am over-reacting like usual, I am thinking too hard once again!
Sighing out loud, I leaned against the seat while William remained quiet for the rest of the ride at that answer.
Ironhide didn't even bother in contributing in the conversation, which didn't surprise me honestly.
However it did annoy me a little, but that was mainly because we still haven't addressed the whole 'pretending to be human' topic. It was avoided when we were talking in the field.
I must of dozed off into a deep sleep from my exhuastion, because in seconds I had someone shaking me aggressively. I startled awake to see Williams hazel eyes that were wide and blood was dripping off his forehead. Instantly, I knew something was wrong.
"William?" I say in startlement to quickly sit up in slight shock.
"We need to run Hazel! NOW!" William yelled at me, while shoving me out of Ironhide's dented up alt-mode.
William grabbed my wrist when I fell out of the vehicle and started to drag me in a random direction at a fast rate. My feet skidded across what seemed to be a rocky pavement, trying to catch up to the speed he was running at, but failing. Which made me stumble a lot.
"What-What's happening?" I choke out in confusion, still half asleep, brain trying to catch up to the situation we were in. There was heaps of yelling that I couldn't understand at all.
"Decepticons!" William claims while finally stopping near a tree. Making me sigh in relief as my feet had started to hurt being dragged across rocks.
I started to panic when it hit that William had said Decepticons. My breathing becoming quick and heavy at the very simple, but deadly word that made me flinch in complete terror.
William had let go of my wrist to pull out his hand gun, which was held in its holster on his right thigh. Quickly he was loading the bullets up in it.
"What are we going to do!" I question with fear lacing my words that was easily heard. William's attention now went to me and his eyes filled with worry.
"Look, I can't get a signal out here to contact the base, but you got to stay calm for me so I can figure it out!" He yelled loudly over the gunfire so I could hear.
I quickly paused and tried to calm down while William ran a hand through his hair, Thinking. The Captian looked back up at me after a few seconds. "That means it's up to Ironhide to com-link Optimus and hopefully they will make it here in time!"
"What if they don't-" I get cut off by a nearby explosion. William had reacted fast and yanked me behind the large tree, that shielded me from the debre that flew towards us.
"Stay here!" William orders and gets off me quickly. Grasping his gun tightly in his hands, he paused to turn back to me.
"Whatever you do. Do not go out in that damn battlefield!" William orders with a stern expression, before running into the dust and sand that was now blowing harshly in the night air.
I wanted to scream out to him and beg him to stay with me, but couldn't gain the courage to do so. I was frozen in total horror, while I watched his small figure disappear in the dust.
I whimpered in fear and hid further behind the tree. My body was shaking, but here and there I am peeking to see what is happening. Hoping to see that everyone is okay.
I peek again to see the familiar shape of Ironhide and the bright glow of his cannons. Relief flooded my shaking figure and his blue optics that shined through the thick dust gave me hope.
I noted how he seemed to be fighting another shaped robot with glowing ruby eyes. I gulped back a scream of terror, already knowing that the fight was no where near finished.
There was a high pitched whistle that gained my attention. My eyes widened in horror at the missle I spotted and it was coming this way.
Yelping, I ran backwards to avoid becoming a cooked human. It hit the ground a few feet away and a lot more recklessly. I felt the ground shake and the impact hit me slightly. Making me stumble on my feet, I watched how the tree I once hid behind was nothing more than ash.
This wasn't good. I had no self-defense and nothing to protect me from the dangerous fight.
I could only just hear Will's voice through the gunfire. The sound of his hand gun slightly echoed the premises throughout all the loud explosions. I struggled to fight the urge to run out there and help.
I didn't want to just sit here in the open watching the scene unfold before me, while William and Ironhide risks their lifes.
My irratic thoughts were shattered from an ear-piercing scream that hurt my ears. My eyes widened in horror when I witness William fly through the air from an explosion that hit right near him.
William impacted the solid sandy ground with a loud 'thud' that made my stomach drop. He rolled a couple times before halting to a stop on his left side.
I jumped when a cold item hit me in the foot, distracting me from Willian, I look down to see William's handgun. It must have flew out of his hand through the explosion and it was sent skidding to me.
My eyes narrowed in anger and my teeth gritted uncontrollably, I bent over and picked up the hand gun. Clumsily checking how many bullets I had with shakey hands.
"one" I whispered in dread, noting how William didn't carry any ammo on him when heading back home.
In a second I was disobeying William's orders and ran towards his bruised and injured body. I examined the outcome with my eyes while checking if he was breathing. I let out a sigh of relief when I found a heartbeat and noted how his breathing was still here, even if it was slow and faint.
I crouch next to him and quickly rolling him onto his back, he looked up at me with halve opened eyes. The look of disbelief showed in them, but the pain overrided it all.
"You never listen to me" William gasped out, obviously winded from hitting the ground so harshly, before he was coughing madly from the dust.
I hushed him and mentally screamed at myself for not remembering anything about first-aid in this moment, my mind evilly going blank in such a serious situation.
William seemed to tense suddenly. This snapped me out of my thoughts and I slowly froze on the spot when I heard heavy metal footsteps make their way towards us. I instantly knew that this wasn't Ironhide.
Slowly I faced the Decepticon behind me. Tightly gripping onto the hand gun that Will once held, my index finger rested on the firing trigger.
Slowly I raised the gun and pointed it at the enemy in a sad way of defense. It didn't help that the gun shook from my fear and nerves. I gulped down the sob that wanted to escape as the red eyed robot laughed at us.
"Do you really think your tiny, puny weapon can stop me?" The decepticon mockingly drawled out to me, his dark red paint-job shined brightly against the moon-light.
"Hazel Run..." William wheezed at me, it was obvious he had broken ribs as it hurt for him to talk.
Frustration started to leak off him when he noted I didn't move at all. "Run! God damn it! Listen to me for once and run!" William yelled at me in anger, anger that covered the fear he felt.
Run or Fire?
I had the choice of running like a coward and never looking back as William died, or firing with the last bit of dignity I had while dying with William.
-or having the slim to zero chance of surviving by shooting one bullet at a metal titan.
The Decepticons weapon seemed to suddenely charge up and point down at us two. It spun faster and faster, warming up to fire. I inhaled sharply and re-aimed the hand gun at the Decepticon, hands no longer shaking.
"Dad, I am not leaving you."
A loud bang echoed the premises.
