"How the hell do you store this information?" Asked my good buddy, Aria. "I mean there's just so many books, so much information running around, and above all exaggerations of these stories."
"Right, with so much information going around we need to split this podcast into parts. This is the end of part one. Thanks for listening in and we hope to see you again on our Podcast; Eerie Tales and Media Madness."
"Aaaaand cut!" Shouted Carter dramatically. "That's another wrap, my ladies." Aria had pushed the microphone from her face and gathered her notes.
"Anything new for Media Madness half?" Aria questioned.
"Nope all good there."
"Damn it, I was really looking forward to making a critique or review."
"Zina, there's that movie Us that just came out." Carter said, "And you already critiqued and reviewed the hell out of that thing."
"Correction," Aria announced, "We did." Aria and I pounded fists.
Alright, so you can already tell, Aria and I are huge dorks. We both are mega analysts here and well, we have our own podcast. Eerie Tales and Media Madness or ETMM for short. I lead the Eerie Tales discussion while Aria leads the Media Madness. Simple right? Our fan base is slowly starting to rise fast, and we have only been up since the beginning of our eighth grade year. We're freshmen in high school now. Alancraft is where we go. Stratwood is the neighborhood we live in, and it's not that far from the downtown of Chicago and not too far from the suburbs either.
I must be boringgggg you with the detailssss. Right? Wait, oh geez I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Zina Cisco and I'm half Italian. The other part of me is from Spain, well, my father's from Spain and my mother is Italian. I have a skin color that is well, you can probably already guess, I seem more Italian than Spanish. Er, I'm not sure if that's quite right. Well, I got black hair, green eyes, and my Dad says I don't eat enough. I mean come on Dad, I'm just really skinny for my age.
My friend, Aria, yeah the one cleaning up our studio, right now along with Carter. She's biracial. Part Australian and part African American. Aria Sirvaski quite interesting isn't it? She's been my buddy since the eighth grade. Her amber like eyes look like jewels, and that brown hair of hers matches nicely with her face. Oh, and hey she's sassy and not afraid to tell people her mind. I respect that. In a world that just keeps getting darker and darker, this is a good sign.
My buddy Carter is from Ecuador. He's fluent in Spanish in case you are wondering. If you ask him about Ecuador he'll tell you all about Las plantas de Ecuador and the giant Galapagos turtles that live for hundreds of years. Heck, if I could get my hands on a Galapagos turtle, I could die happy. Carter's got the good looks, he's got that brunette-blackish hair and those soft brown puppy-dog eyes. We have a sibling relationship going on, totally platonic.
"Hay, you gonna help us close up the studio or what?" Carter asked.
"Can you guys clean it up? I really want to see my girlfriend before school begins." Pleaded Aria.
"How 'bout I clean up so Carter can catch some Niria moments?" I chuckled. Aria turned bright red. Carter began to laugh.
"No, no, no! Carter you are not joining me. You know that Nina is shy at times, and we don't like being recorded either. One important thing to mention, nothing extravagant is gonna happen. It's all gonna be anticlimactic like "How's it going?" "Fine how are you?" And..."
Haha, I forgot to mention that Aria gets embarrassed so easily, oh and she's bi. Her girlfriend's Nina, a good friend of mine.
In the end, Aria went to go see her girlfriend, and me and Carter stayed behind to clean up the studio. It had soundproof walls and there was a huge window too. The sunlight would pierce the glass and you could see that the podcast room had a black interior. We need to get that repainted. This was part one of five studios.
First things first, my mom owns the building. She's the artist type and a big naturalist too. My father always said, she was so nomadic he couldn't remember how they had a child. All joking aside, my father is a baker and he gets up early to bake. This works out 'cause I'm up early with my bud, Aria and lil' bro, Carter recording for ETMM.
Okay, so I know this is a lot to take in. My house and the studios are connected. It's all one big, black-brick building, we have the first floor that is the front, where the bakery is. The first floor has a mini hallway with three rooms in one wall, and two rooms on the other. These are used for the bakery and for parties and storage too. I wish I could use those rooms.
The back of the bakery has a small black spiral staircase that leads to the second floor. The path of the second floor diverges to two paths like a ninety degree angle. The one going straightforward has a big middle door at the end. Mom's trying to buy the rest of the building. We already have what you would consider a mansion but it makes the bakery bigger and the second floor bigger too.
The hallway has six rooms. Three on each wall. The first two on both sides, I haven't decided what to use them for. There are two bedrooms, the left side one is for guests and and the right is my room. (We can take a peek later.) The last two are my studios. The right one has that beautifully dark room; that's our podcast place and the left one. Wait for it, is the video game area. Yeah, you heard me right. We have game systems from PC to console which, this is all for our gaming channel. So yeah, I did mention early on that I have a game blog right? No? Damn, there's just so much to say. I'll say something about the rest of the house later.
"Zina," Carter said. He waved a hand in front of my face. I blinked.
"What?"
"Dude, we're gonna be late if we don't leave now."
"Okay." I put my hands behind my head when I walked with Carter. I believe that pose is called a catapult, I think.
I asked, "Mind reading anything we have upcoming on the schedule?"
Carter smiled, "Yup. Let's see, tomorrow you have theories to share in Media Madness. And well then we have to start the Bayonetta series with Hunter. On April 26 is when Avengers: Endgame comes out, you'll need to review and construct theories. On July 2nd, Spider-Man: Far from Home comes out, you know the drill."
"Thanks." Some people call this a business, I call it a hobby. What can I say? I love to create and so does Aria, Carter, Nina, Carlos, Hunter, Yuki, Kano, Don and Camille. Oh, you haven't met the others yet. No, but Carter keeps things organized as possible. Since, I do a gaming channel, I have Hunter with me on that.
You could say this kind of life is abnormal but I assure you that there are different standards for normal. This is my normality and someone else will have a life different than me, and that's their normality.
"Sis, you gonna remain quiet all the way to school?" Carter asked.
"Nah," We had just exited my house or should I say my mansion. The walk to our school wasn't that far. I could see it from my house. It had that glistening red- brick building style.
"Hey," Carter smirked, "Aria just texted me. She said Amari Emerson is here." I felt my heart skip a beat.
"Let's move!!!" Yes, I have a passionate side if you can't already tell. Amari Emerson, cute boy, kind to everyone in his class, and clever too.
Carter had to sprint to keep up with me. I looked like I was being chased, if you took it out of context. We reached the front entrance of the school, Alancraft, in no time flat. The doors were glass; this is one of those high tech schools. I ripped the door open and walked in immediately. The door almost slammed Carter in the face but he was okay. The hallway had many lockers on both sides and not too far from us was Nina and Aria. They seemed to be in the middle of a conversation. I felt a little punch hit me in the back.
"Girl, you keep staring out into space," Hunter cackled. "One of these days you're gonna be staring at Amari Emerson so long, it'll be funny."
That's Hunter Riflos another buddy. He has a habit of liking to tease me about my crush, not to mention he's a big gamer, and we share a gamer channel. His gold like eyes, and red hair make him very attractive but somehow he isn't going after anyone. Weird. Although a normality about my lil' bro here is that he likes to wear hoodies. Not just any hoodies, the ones that have game titles. This kid loves to grab matching hoodies for me and him. Not to mention that he's also likes shopping. He goes shopping with me and Yuki from time to time. I don't question it, it's normal for him.
"She did it again," Hunter chuckled, "Bet she's thinking of Amari Emerson without his shirt." I slapped him on the arm.
"No I am not!" I couldn't hide the high pitch in my voice and the red coloring covering my face. Nina had broke conversation with her girlfriend when she heard me. Aria and her chuckled.
"Girl, you have it baddd." They cooed. Yep, my buds love to poke fun at me, and well I poke fun at them too. We all act like family so it's no biggie. Hunter zipped up his black hoodie, the words Bayonetta were in huge red.
"Can't wait to put my reactions of Bayonetta." Hunter said passionately, "I fucking love blind runs."
"Dork-a-saurus is back at it again." Carter joked. Hunter grabbed him by the neck and gave him a noogie. It's kind of funny since Carter is about six feet and Hunter is five foot nine. Aria turned to look behind her.
"Oh shit," she said and she pushed Nina into the lockers. Carter and Hunter had that look like, "Oh Zina isn't gonna like this" face. They were right. I felt myself hit the floor in a manner of seconds and I felt pressure all over my body.
"Auh." That pathetic noise came out of me just now? Hunter had his phone out. Why do you do this to me? Carter went towards me. The pressure on my body seemed to disappear and before I knew it, I was back on my feet. A unfamiliar hand had grabbed my hand.
"Sorry, about that." The cheeky voice said. "I was looking for someone, I didn't mean to knock down a lady. Especially someone of your beauty." I looked up to see who was holding my hand. Yes, I'm five foot six, this guy was six foot one. Shit! Six foot one? Blue eyes? Dirty blonde hair? A rose in one hand?
So, you know when your friends tell you, you make weird or dorky faces in a time of crisis? Well, I was surprised yet disgusted while triggered at the same time. My right eyebrow went up and twitched and my eyes were wide open and my mouth was gaping.
"Cameron "fucking" Roy." Hunter said nonchalantly. "You know better than to sweep a girl off her feet." Hunter winked, after this, and when Hunter winks Aria knows what to do. I swear those two have a physic link.
"Especially, when one of them is immune to your devilishly, handsome charm." Aria meant me and I knew it. Nina giggled in the back while Carter was gesturing to me to fix my hair.
"We all know Zina is immune." Cameron said kindly, "Nina and Aria, you two were made for each other."
"Thanks," Nina said cheerily.
"My apologies for crashing into you, Zina." Cameron said as he made a little bow. "I hope you will take this rose in forgiveness." He tossed the rose to me and I caught it. He then dashed off towards a bunch of girls that were walking into the school.
"Zina, you're gaping." Nina mentioned. Hunter cackled as he stopped the recording on his phone.
"This'll go good for our first year montage of hilarious videos." He said to Carter, showing him the footage.
I groaned. Cameron Roy, the transfer student. He got here just this week and he already has a reputation. A reputation of a flirt. He's obsessed with finding the love of his life, and is hitting on almost all the girls. He puts up this gentlemen act and looks so cool to the others. School started two months ago and was going well, but then this guy shows up. He's so damn good at breaking vibes. I don't like the guy. He's so shallow, from the looks of it. Everyone likes him though, and Hunter hangs out with the guy. Just talking about him pisses me off.
"Dude," Hunter's eyes went wide when he looked at his watch, "We need to get to class now."
"Shit! Carter we only have a minute to get to class!" Nina exclaimed, gathering her books. Carter handed her his books and squatted.
"Hop on!" He said. Nina jumped onto his back and they dashed down the hall. Hunter and I looked at them go.
"Those two are gonna get in trouble for this, right?" I asked.
"Definitely, Mr. Xander is strict." Hunter agreed. I turned to look next to me, but Aria wasn't there anymore. When did she leave?
"Holy shit!" Hunter shouted as he looked back and forth. "Where'd she go?"
"I don't know but, we'll be late if we don't sprint," I told him as I dashed down the hallway.
"Wait for me!" He squealed. We sprinted halfway through the hallway and took a sharp turn to the right, and into the first room. That was our first class. Chemistry.
