Soon

"And. . . we're done." Marco said after they got the rest of the stroller put together.
They got the rest of the furniture for the nursery and for their room a few days ago and it took them most of the weekend to put together, and they finished today, which is Monday, after Marco got home from work.
"Wait!" Rosie ran to the closet. "What about my clothes?"
He stared at her with a confused expression for a little while. "What are your clothes doing in the baby's room?"
"No." She tried to pick up a box. "My baby clothes. . . . A little help here?" Marco ran over to her side to help.
"Well, we can put it in the dresser and closet when we get back from your appointment." He told her, while rapping his arms around her.
She smiled at him, then gave him a kiss. "She's going to be the most spoiled child."
"But at least she'll be a good person."
"We hope."
"She's your baby. She's going to be the sweetest kid. Ready to go?"
        "Yes."
Rosie headed downstairs and got her shoes and sweater on. She heard Marco come down the steps.
"Marco, can you get my water bottle?"
"Sure."
She could hear him filling up her water bottle. She grabbed her purse off the ground and tried heading for the door. Marco saw her holding the heavy purse and stoped her before she could even open the door.
"Rosie, what do you think you're doing with that bag?"
She turned around and gave him a funny look. "I'm holding it. Why? Is that a problem with you?"
"You know you're not supposed to be holding heavy things."
"No, I can't hold heavy things. I've been holding this all through my pregnancy. Just because I'm 29 weeks doesn't mean that I can't hold a bag." She rolled her eyes and headed for the door again.
"Rosie, you have a Mary Poppins bag. I don't want you to hold it. You're right, I might just being over protective, but I don't want anything that can cause any problem."
"Marco, it's not heavy. Please let me hold my purse."
"Fine. Just as long as it doesn't hurt your back, and if it does hand it over to me."
"I'm 7 months pregnant, my back always. . . . . Actually never mind." She smiled at him and then walked out the door. Marco got his sweater and followed her.

Marco parked in front of the building and then helped Rosie out of the car. Rosie held Marcos hand and leaned her head on his shoulder.
"I can't wait to see our little girl!" She beamed.
"I can't wait to see her in 2 months." He kissed her cheek.
Rosie placed her free hand on her stomach and smiled at Marco.

They got inside, signed in and then waited in the waiting room for about 10 minutes. Then they were called back.

Once that got in the room, they did the routinely checkup. The doctor came in 5 minutes after the nurse finished up.
Rosie felt like a natural at this. She couldn't believe she'd been doing this for the past 7 months. She couldn't believe even more that in 2 months she was going to get to hold her little girl. A smile came across her face. Marco looked at her and could guess what she was thinking, and smiled at that. The doctor came in right then.
They talked for a little bit about how she's feeling and everything else  and then started to do the ultrasound.
"Lets see. . . baby girl is right there. She's getting really big."
Rosie tightened her grip on Marcos hand. "Is that bad?"
"Oh, no honey. That's good. It means that she's the right size."
       "Oh." Rosie calmed down.
Dr. Cannon moved the wand around and they listened to the baby's heartbeat. Rosies smile got bigger.
"I can't believe how loud her heartbeat is now." Rosie commented.
She looked at Marco and they both smiled at each other.
They finished up and Dr. Cannon gave Rosie a couple names of books to learn about giving birth. Marco told Rosie that they'll stop by the library before going home.

After Rosie got dressed and ready to leave. She grabbed a few pamphlets about labor, giving birth and after giving birth, from the shelf in the waiting room.
"Ready?" Marco asked.
"Mhm." She mumbled.
"Honey, we don't need those. We're going to get books which will be better."
"Ok." She took his hand and walked out of gage building.
They got in the car and headed to the library.
"Are we gonna be there soon?" Rosie asked after a few minutes. "I have to pee." She mumbled.
"We'll be there soon. It's not that far away."
"Ughhh!" She whined. Marco placed his free hand on top of hers to rub it.
Once they got there, Rosie jumped out of the car and waddled as fast as she could, to the bathroom. Marco giggled a little bit at the way she walks with her huge baby bump. She glared at him.
After she got out of the bathroom, they went to search for the books they needed. Rosie asked a librarian and he pointed them in the right direction. Rosie headed to the shelf and grabbed a few that seemed like they would give her the right information. Marco took a look at some other books and brought them to her. Rosie sat down and read through some of them. Marco went to the little kids section and looked through the shelves to know which would be good books to buy.
"Marco, you ready?" Rosie asked after getting the ones she likes.
"Yeah. I think we should buy a few of these books for when she comes."
"We already have a bunch of books." She realized that she'd been doing most of the shopping for the baby and thought that it might be nice to let Marco get some stuff for her. "Well, how about we order them when we get home? I don't think I can do more walking today."
"Would you like to pick some books for her too?"
Rosie shook her head. They went to checkout the books and then headed home. Marco opened the car door for her, and then gave her a kiss.

Rosie put music on in the car and sang to her stomach.
"Ro, what are you doing?" He chuckled.
"I'm singing to her because people say that once the baby is able to hear stuff, she can hear what we sing, or what's playing. Which is why I'll be playing the music for now on."
"Do you really believe that?"
"Yes, and I haven't sang to her and she's going to be hear soon and I wish I would've thought about this sooner."
"Ok, well keep singing. The baby probably loves your voice and especially your singing. Maybe she'll be able to sing like you." Marco really loved her singing, and he really did hope the baby had her voice.
Rosie smiled at him and went back to singing.

Once they got home, Marco took care of getting dinner ready while Rosie put the rest of the clothes in the dresser and closet. After that she put some more toys in the toy bin and more books on the shelf. Then she went downstairs to Marco.
"Need any help?" Rosie asked.
"I don't think so, but if you'd like to get some cooking lessons in before the baby's here, I can help you with that."
"Why would I need that?"
"Well the baby's going to need to eat when I'm not home."
"Ok, first of all, I know how to cook. Second of all, the baby will only be eating formula for a while, and then it'll only be baby food or cut up pieces of avocado, or banana."
"What about when she can start eating real food and doesn't have to only eat smushed up bananas?"
"Like eggs and noodles? that won't be for a while. Maybe eggs will be sooner. She can also eat cheese, and apple sauce, Soup, yogurt, sweet potatoes, squash, apples and peaches. I also know how to cook stuff like eggs and noodles. Oh and chicken. If you didn't realize, we own a food truck and before that I worked for a different one."
"I know, I just want you to be ready for weird things she might want to eat."
"Honey, I know how to cook. You know that. I let you cook because you like to."
"Would you like to finish cooking?" He asked her, while handing over the spatula.
"Yes. You also need to build the stroller." She said walking over to the stove.
"What? But we already built the stroller?"
"Oh, yeah. But this one is for when she's older. You know, she'll need different food when she's older and a different stroller."
"Oh, I see." They both laughed.

Once they finally got dinner on the table, they talked about what other books they wanted to get, and what they were going to put in the hospital bag. After dinner they sat on the couch and relaxed for few hours.
"I just want to hold her already. When will she be here?" She whined.
He laughed at her complaint. "Soon."

After a few hours, Rosie got tired and fell asleep on the couch with her head on Marcos  shoulder. He kissed her and then got up to get a blanket. For them. He knew she couldn't wait any longer to see their baby, and neither could he.
