Chapter 10

Isabel and I were biking down the bike trail and Will was running next to us. "Man, you're fast!" Will said. "Do you want to win the race or not?" Isabel replied, "The world has changed so much in five hundred years." "I still can't believe you were a ghost that long," Will replied, "I can't imagine." "It's really bad," Isabel replied. "Speed up," I told Will. "I'm tired!" Will cried. "Pretend Oliver is chasing you," Isabel replied. Will took off running. He ran in front of us. "It worked," I whispered to Isabel. "I knew it would," she responded. We laughed.

Isabel POV
I'm so glad to be a real human. My memories as a child came back. Will and Lucas made sure I was happy though. All the towns heard the news. They loved it when I did tricks with my powers. Lucas has them too, but he doesn't like to admit it. I loved biking just like Lucas. I also liked running. I got to see the world because Lucas and Will travel to a lot of places to race. It has changed so much. I got to show them my old house. It is old and unsafe to go in now, but I went in anyway. Our furniture was still there. I got a picture of my family and brought it out for everyone to see. Lucas said it was a beautiful picture. Will agreed. I wanted my brother to meet Lucas. My brother would love to meet him. My brother and I were twins. Good old memories.

When we got to a hotel we were going to stay at for Will's race, the hotel staff asked if I would tell my story at there Halloween festival. It was in three days. It was the day after Will's race, but Lucas said we could stay. Lucas got me a diary too. I wrote everything in it. I let Lucas read a few of the pages, but that was it.

I like the future. More like the present. This is way better than long ago. I learned to use an iPhone and all those gadgets. Will said I spoke old-fashion sometimes, so I learned the new terms. Like instead of tuckered out, Will said to use tired. I didn't see a reason to change, but I did. Now, I only go into forests if I have to. I'm afraid I will get trapped and be a ghost again. I don't like to think about that.

Lucas did it. He showed me the written version of my legend. We even saw our new legend. I hoped it would last forever. Like a ghost can. I thought about Lucas and how he saved me every night. I need to make it up for him," I kept telling myself. "Lucas," I said, "What can I do to make up for you saving my life?" "Well Isabel," he responded, "All you have to do is keep being you," he responded. I looked it to his eyes. My legend, the ghost who loved had a happy ending.

The End.
