October 19th, 1997

It's my date with Jackson today, well tonight.

He hasn't canceled so that's farther than I thought we would get.

I watched my clock out of the corner of my eye waiting for it to turn to 7:46. The minutes couldn't go slower, however the day couldn't go faster.

"Ryan! Ryan!" I stood up from my last class to hear Jackson calling my name. I smiled and turned around. He was smiling and had his backpack loosely on both his shoulders. "I'll um pick you up at seven. But just so you know my friends aren't the most accepting with the whole uh, gay thing." Jackson blushed and reached out and grabbed my hand. My eyes widened but I smiled at him.

"I get it. I won't tell anyone if that's what you're asking." Jackson nodded and I did too. "Cool, see you at seven." I leaned in and kissed his cheek. Bold I know, but that's how I like it.

"Ryan you're such a player." Ari said and she slapped my arm. I blushed and slapped her and back. "Seriously though. Also he's really cute so good choice."

"He choose me."

"Someone's texting you Ryan." Nicole said not looking up from her magazine. I looked at my phone, it was vibrating. It's the only phone out and I can only have twenty texts a month but hey it's pretty cool.

I crawled over to my phone and looked at it. Brendon flashed across the screen. I bit my lip and opened the texts.

Brendon: Saturday nite?

I ran downstairs to Nicole's kitchen and grabbed her landline. I dialed his houses phone number.

"Uh hello?" Brendon picked up after the fourth ring. I grinned and twirled the chord around my finger.

"Hey Brendon it's me Ross." I said.

"Oh hey, hold on Sasha. I'll be there in a minute. I'm staying here tonight-no honey not the lamp!" I heard the phone fall and then crying in the background. I bit my finger, Nicole walked the stairs only in her bra and cheer skirt.

"Who you talking to?"

"Brendon."

"Yeah?" Brendon picked the phone back up. I smiled and leaned against Nicole's fridge.

"I'm really sorry I couldn't babysit tonight. I have a date." I said and frowned.

"No I get it. I would give anything to have one more date with Harlow." Brendon said. I glanced at the clock.

"Holy ah- sorry Brendon got to go." I hung up the phone before Brendon could say anything.

It was 6:54.

"Where you off to?" Nicole asked and pressed herself against the wall as I ran past her into her room.

"Jackson is supposed to be here in six minutes. I need to change into the clothes I brought." I grabbed my black button up and black skinny jeans. I grabbed my shirt and pulled it off and then pushed my pants down as quickly as I could.

I pulled the shirt on over my head and then pulled my jeans on. I looked at myself in Nicole's full length mirror. I looked fine, date night fine.

"I see his car pulling up!" Blue yelled jumping up and down on Nicole's bed. I blushed and shook my head. I rushed down the stairs waving everyone goodbye.

Jackson got out of his car to open the door for me. I smiled and nodded to him.

"So where are we going?" I asked when Jackson got back into his car starting it up again. He placed his hand on the back of my seat.

"Outdoor movie, Christen." Jackson responded and reached for the radio. I nodded and smiled.

"Romantic."

"I try."

The rest of the car ride was somewhat awkward small talk. And slight flirting.

"Dammit we're late. The movies already started." Jackson hit the car steering wheel.

"That's ok. I think most people are just making out in their car." I mumbled. Just then a raindrop hit the window.

"And now it's raining. I'm sorry Ryan, this was supposed to be romantic." Jackson said. I turned to look at him and he was looking at me.

"It is."

I leaned forward and attached my lips to his. He reacted quickly, the kiss was slow and sweet. It wasn't heated or just a quick peck.

But something was missing,

I just didn't feel a spark.

Hello everyone
I hope this chapter was worth the wait
I've been sick for four days and I'm just now feeling a little bit better
A lot has been going on in my life so I'm really sorry for not updating
I've had a lot of projects and homework and studying and then my down time is mostly just relaxing bc doing all that stuff is really anxiety producing
No that does not mean I won't continue to update they just won't be everyday I will try and do it more than lately but don't hold me to that sorry
I haven't been at school all week so I have no interesting stories sorry :/
