Chapter 13
Sebastian's POV
I stood in front of the Hot Spring Resort, the rain sizzling slightly as it touched my skin. I have to find her, I reminded myself.
And stalked toward the entrance of the Resort.
Reader's POV
I slowly opened my eyes to find Sebastian and Ikari hovering over me.
I blinked once.
Twice.
"Wh-What happened?" I asked, confused.
Ikari, now fully clothed, gave a small sigh of relief. "You passed out in the hot spring. I assume from overheating."
As my father helped me sit up, I noted that I was now in a (favorite color) flowing kimono. "Oh... I-I don't remember."
Sebastian bowed to Ikari. "Thank you for making sure my daughter was alright. I am very grateful."
Ikari waved her hand. "It's no problem. She kept me company in the bath."
Bursting through the door just then was an ivory haired man who was panting slightly. "Ikari! The lady at the front desk told me you were in here, are you alright?!"
Ikari placed a comforting hand on his chest. "I'm fine, Yoshino. I was just helping out my friend (F/n), here. She fainted in the bath."
Sebastian helped me to stand up. "So you're Ikari's husband!"
Yoshino nodded, kneeling down. "I am indeed. I'm glad to see that you're alright."
I smiled. "All thanks to Ikari!"
Beneath my hand I could feel Sebastian flinch so slightly that I almost missed it. I gave his hand a small squeeze as Yoshino laughed. "Well, I'm glad she did! And thank you for being her friend, (F/n)."
Sebastian gave them a half smile. "Well, we must be going, (F/n). Thank you again for saving my daughter."
Ikari smiled as Yoshino stood up straight. "Not a problem. I hope yo see you again, (F/n)!"
I waved at them as we both turned separate directions and Sebastian led me back to our room. "Daddy?" I asked.
"What is it, F/n)?"
"Mai-Rin wasn't in the bath. Should we go look for her?"
Sebastian tensed a little. "I made sure that she was in her room after finding out that she was not with you."
I nodded, even though I slightly doubted that was the case.
And then it happened.
We both looked up to find another Sebastian standing by our room's door, his tail coat dripping wet. "(F/n)."
The Sebastian that held my hand tightened his grip. "How did you find us." he demanded.
"Did you really think that I don't know my own daughter's scent?" the drenched butler asked, "How did you convince her to come with you?"
I looked up at my father, trying to pull my hand away. "Wh-What's going on?" I asked, starting to grow scared.
He didn't release my hand. "(F/n), listen to me. I am the real Sebastian. That is the Lady in the Window. Somehow she found us here-"
"Don't listen to her, (F/n)!" The other one said, "She's lying to you, now come here! Quickly!" He said, holding out his hand.
The hallway grew slightly darker as the fire from the candles started turning black. I struggled against the Sebastian that held my hand. "I-I don't like this!" I cried, "Let me go!"
When his grip didn't lessen, black tendrils of fire shot from the candles, grabbing onto Sebastian1's arm, burning through his tailcoat and searing his skin. He gave no cry, but quickly released me.
I ran as fast as I could down the hallway towards where Ikari and Yoshino had gone, Sebastian1 crying out, "(F/n), wait!!"
I didn't wait.
I ran as fast as I could down the hallway, listening for Ikari or Yoshino's voice.
When I finally caught Ikari's small laugh, I burst through the door that it came from, slamming the door shut behind me. The couple jumped to their feet, startled. "(F/n)? What's going o-" Yoshino started, but I placed a finger to my lips, urgently asking them to stay quiet as I pulled them into their bedroom.
I left the lights off as I whispered to them, "There are two of my father here! one of them is bad and one of them is good, but I can't tell which one!"
The couple looked at each other and then looked back at me. "Are you playing a game, (F/n)?" Ikari asked.
I shook my head. "No!" I sobbed silently as tears ran down my cheeks, "Ciel and I are in danger! We need your help!"
Just then, we could clearly hear the door to the living room get blown off its hinges. "(F/n)?" A Sebastian called out, "Are you in here?"
Ikari and Yoshino looked at each other before nodding, and opening the door. "Oh! You're (F/n)'s father, aren't you?" Ikari asked, closing the door behind them, "Our door!" She cried, "What did you do?!"
Sebastian answered, "I'm sorry to disturb you, but do you know where she went? We've been playing hide and seek for a while, but I can't find her anywhere."
That's not my daddy! I thought, the Lady in the Window will hurt them!!
Not wanting them to get hurt, I quickly opened the door, smiling as best I could. "You finally found me! That took you WAY too long, daddy! I win!"
All three adults looked at me, confused, before Sebastian shook his head. "You musn't hide is someone else's room, (F/n), that's very rude."
I looked into Ikari's eyes, and thought, this is not my father, but I don't want you to get hurt. If only you could hear me, I'd ask you to find Ciel or my real father and tell them what's happened... "I'm sorry for intruding..." I said aloud.
Ikari's eyes widened. "How did you..."
She trailed off as Sebastian grabbed my hand. "Let's go. The young master wants to leave now."
I took one last look at the couple, reading Ikari's lips.
I heard you.
The fake Sebastian quickly pulled me through the halls. "What am I to do with you," he muttered, "what have I told you about strangers?"
I used all of my might to strengthen the flames of the candles in the hallways, catching the walls on fire. Peoplestarted exiting their rooms to see what the smell was, to find the hallways in flames.
The fake looked at me before gritting his teeth, lifting me up into his arms, and ran for the door. I started screaming, only for Sebastian to put a hand over my mouth as he changed his form.
He now looked exactly like Ikari.
"I'm not letting you go this time, (F/n). Not until every foul demon is wiped from existence!!"
Once she was outside, the Lady dropped me on the ground, knocking the wind from my lungs.
She then turned into a familiar sparkling mist, and once more, took over my body.
The real Sebastian, carrying Ciel, bolted out of the resort along with all of the staff and other guests. "So The Lady transformed to look like you, and then chased us here?" Ciel asked over the crowd.
"Yes." Sebastian answered, looking around to find me standing on my own, looking around. "(F/n)!!"
I turned around, staring at Sebastian. "Y-You're not my father!" I cried.
Ikari and Yoshino both rushed over to me, kneeling down. "(F/n), are you alright?!" Ikari cried, "Where's the fake Sebastian?!"
I pointed at my father who was placing Ciel down. "That's the fake one! And that's not Ciel!!"
Sebastian took a step forward. "(F/n), it's me! I am your father! And this is the real Young Master!"
I buried myself in Ikari's arms. "He's lying!! Don't let him near me!!"
As Ikari tried to calm me down, Yoshino stared Sebastian down. "Who am I, and what were you and (F/n) doing when you came into our room?"
Sebastian replied quickly, but a little confused. "Your name is Yoshino, that's Ikari, she saved (F/n) from drowning, and I have never been to your room."
Yoshino looked to Ikari as she smoothed my hair comfortingly. "That is the real Sebastian."
Ikari pulled me away a little to look me in the eyes. "See, (F/n)? That's not the fake!"
I grinned, letting my voice become two-toned. "He might not be, but I AM."
I pushed Ikari off of me and took a few steps back as Sebastian balled his hands into fists, protecting Ciel. "You're not going to do this again, Lady." he growled.
I laughed. "Relax, Sebastian, I'll be done with her as soon as every last demon is dead."
Yoshino helped Ikari to her feet. "Over our dead bodies. You won't harm a hair on that girl's head."
Ciel blinked. "Ikari? Ikari Williams?"
Sebastian flinched slightly at that last name.
The couple looked at each other before smiling at Ciel. "Someone's done his research." Ikari remarked. "But it's not Williams anymore. It's Mariko. And yes, I am who you suspect. I didn't think you knew."
Sebastian looked at his young master as I tapped my foot impatiently. "Young master?"
"Ikari is Luna William's sister." Ciel said, "I ran across her name at the library."
I rolled my eyes. "This is all very charming, this being a sort of "family reunion"," I turned to Ikari, "hello, Aunt Ikari, but I have some lives to take, so if you wouldn't mind, Ciel-"
I felt a stabbing sensation in my chest, but just laughed. "She's fighting back this time."
Then, I fell to my knees, causing everyone else to take a step forward. "Ugh... She's... stronger than... I thought..."
I blacked out before I could see anyone move.
Real Reader's POV
I stood in the darkness, facing the Lady in the Window's back from a few paces away. "I gave you a warning." I growled, "Now I'm going to end you for good."
A sob wracked her body. "You... You don't even realize how fortunate you are..." She sniffled, "Both of your parents loved you, even Ciel, Ikari, Yoshino, and the servants all love you. I had no one..."
I balled my hands into fists. "So you tried to take that away from me?"
She whirled around to look at me. "I didn't know what else to do! The council forced me to live for eternity as just a spirit! ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS DIE!!"
"AND SO YOU WILL!!" I shouted, black tendrils of flame wrapped around her body. I covered my ears and closed my eyes as her screams filled my head.
When the screams stopped, I slowly opened my eyes to find myself on my knees still. No one had moved. I smiled, triumphant, exhausted, and glad that she was finally gone. "She's... dead..." I breathed, wobbling to my feet.
Sebastian was on me in a flash, wrapping me in his arms. "Thank goodness you're alright." He said, tears streaming down his cheeks.
I smiled. "I took care of her, daddy... But her screams..."
Sebastian suddenly placed his hand on my forehead. "I love you, (F/n)..."
I blacked out once more.
Ikari's POV
I watched in horror as (F/n) went limp in Sebastian's arms. "What did you do?!"
Sebastian lifted her up into his arms, walking towards me and Yoshino. "Please... I cannot keep her safe... I'm a horrible father for her... I've erased myself and the young master from her memories..." He swallowed painfully. "Please take her..."
Yoshino looked at me, but I kept my burning eyes on the butler. "Sebastian... please don't do this to her..."
He shook his head. "I cannot protect her... but I know that you two can." He chuckled, "Being two fellow fiends yourselves."
Yoshino's eyes flashed fluorescent pink as he turned from Sebastian to me. "We have to do this, Ikari... for Luna..."
Tears were brimming in my eyes as I took (F/n) from Sebastian's arms. "Promise me one thing, Sebastian." I choked.
"Anything." He answered.
"Promise me that we will remain in contact, and... and that she'll get to see you. Even if it's only once."
Sebastian didn't hesitate. "Of course." He brushed a stray strand of hair behind (F/n)'s ear. "She is my daughter after all..."
And like that, Yoshino and I had become the parents of (F/n).
***Three Months Later***
I stared out of the carriage window, watching London go by. I felt a hand on my knee and looked up to find Yoshino smiling at me. "It's going to be alright, Ikari."
I took in a slow breath and nodded. "I know..."
The carriage slowed to a stop and Yoshino opened the door, helping me and (F/n) out.
(F/n) tightened her grip on her stuffer bitter rabbit. "So this is where the person is that made my rabbit?" She asked me.
I nodded, taking her small hand. "Yes. He's a very good friend of ours."
(F/n) nodded to herself as we all walked up to the door; Yoshino knocked on said door.
I thought that after three months I would be prepared to finally see Sebastian and Ciel again, but butterflies rampaged in my stomach. (F/n) squeezed my hand lightly. "Mommy? Are you okay?"
I smiled down at her. "Of course, (F/n). Mommy's just... excited..."
Then, the door opened, and my heart seized, causing me to let go of (F/n)'s hand and quickly grab Yoshino's as the familiar butler smiled. "You must be (F/n)! It's lovely to finally meet you!"
The small girl bowed. "Hello! We're here to see the person who made my rabbit, Sebastian!"
I froze, my heart pounding. Did she remember him?!
Sebastian knelt down and patted the rabbit's head. "What a coincidence! That's my name too!" He held his hand out, "Would you like to meet my master? He's the one who created your rabbit!"
(F/n) grinned, taking his hand. "Yes please!"
"We'll be right behind you!" Yoshino added as we all entered the manor, closing the door behind us.
As soon as Sebastian and (F/n) were out of earshot, I turned into Yoshino.
And sobbed.
