24 girls have been selected amongst over 6000 applicants to compete for a chance to make their idol dreams come true. only a few of these lucky girls will achieve their dreams on this show.

↪ welcome back to love song. today, trainees will now compete in 2 separate groups, high and low ground. these groups will be the theme song mission, final love song.

⊹ ࣪ ˖ KIM SEJEONG﹢꒰ MC ꒱ :
↪ as trainees get ready for these performances, we will watch the process and preparation of both groups, and really get a sense of who the trainees really are.

( the high ground practice room )

the 12 girls sat in a circle on the floor of the practice room in silence. they all looked down at a piece of paper in their hands which contained the undecided positions of their upcoming performance.

⊹ ࣪ ˖ BYUN YURA﹢꒰ HYBE ꒱ :
↪ let's start by going over who our leaders should be! that seems like a pretty good place to start.

⊹ ࣪ ˖ JANG EUNSEO﹢꒰ YG ꒱ :
↪ i think haesook should be one of our leaders. i saw how she helped lead the 'as i told you' performance and she did a really good job.

⊹ ࣪ ˖ LEE CHAEIN﹢꒰ YG ꒱ :
↪ i agree! haesook, what do you think?

everyone looked over at myung haesook expectedly. haesook only sat there for a few seconds, looking back at everyone.

⊹ ࣪ ˖ MYUNG HAESOOK﹢꒰ YG ꒱ :
↪ okay! that sounds good to me.

⊹ ࣪ ˖ ZARA SHEN﹢꒰ YG ꒱ :
↪ leader number one decided!! [ she said in an announcers voice before clapping ]

everyone quietly clapped beside zara, a few laughs coming from it.

↪ i volunteer to be the second leader.

↪ does anyone else want to volunteer?

everyone stayed silent, a few of the girls started giggling at the fact that no one else wanted to volunteer, but for the most part everyone else remained silent.

↪ okay! [ she said in english ]

↪ our leaders are officially ara and haesook.

↪ i think we should go over which positions we each want. that way it makes it easier for the leaders to decide.

↪ okay, so we know that position one goes to jang eunseo.. who wants to volunteer for position two?

byun yura, mae sihyeon and lee chaein all raised their hands. all very suitable for the position of main vocalist.

↪ okay.. all three of you are super talented vocal wise and you all would fit that position! ahh this is so hard.. [ she covered her face with her clipboard, whining a bit ]

⊹ ࣪ ˖ CHOI ARA﹢꒰ HYBE ꒱ :
↪ let's just write it down and keep it for later! we will come back to it.

⊹ ࣪ ˖ MYUNG HAESOOK﹢꒰ YG ꒱ :
↪ smart.. [ she wrote down the 3 girls names ]

↪ i kind of want to take on part three.. is there anyone here who is also interested in part three?

ito fumiko raised her hand swiftly, a confident smile on her face.

⊹ ࣪ ˖ ITO FUMIKO﹢꒰ HYBE ꒱ :
↪ i think i would do very good in the main dancer position.

⊹ ࣪ ˖ CHOI ARA﹢꒰ HYBE ꒱ :
↪ as much as i want to be the main dancer, i agree. i think you would be better suited for that position. what do you think, haesook?

↪ i think fumiko would be perfect in that position! any objections?

the rest of the girls all shook their heads, agreeing that ito fumiko would be best for the main dancer position.

↪ then it's settled! ito fumiko is our main dancer. what about part four?

only noh hwajin raised her hand for that position.

↪ that was a quick decision! hwajin, you get part four.

from there, the group did the same system of deciding until they got through the final part. now, all that was left was for the leaders to officially decide the positions.

the leaders headed to the individual practice room and shut the door behind them. they sat on the floor across from each other and began to make their decision.

⊹ ࣪ ˖ CHOI ARA﹢꒰ HYBE ꒱ :
↪ okay.. so for part one, i was thinking mae sihyeon? she is a really good performer and she has very stable vocals.

⊹ ࣪ ˖ MYUNG HAESOOK﹢꒰ YG ꒱ :
↪ i agree! she has the dance, the presence on stage and the vocals. i think she would be a perfect fit for the main vocalist position. [ she quickly wrote her name down ]

⊹ ࣪ ˖ MYUNG HAESOOK﹢꒰ YG ꒱ :
↪ what about byun yura and lee chaein?

⊹ ࣪ ˖ CHOI ARA﹢꒰ HYBE ꒱ :
↪ i was thinking of putting yura in position 6. it has notes that i think she would be able to hit perfectly.

↪ i like that!! okay so, yura in position 6 and sihyeon in position 2. that leaves chaein? [ she wrote down byun yura's name ]

↪ i really want to put her in part 7, but you're also a contender for that position.

↪ i really want part 7.. i think i would be able to shine in that position.

↪ let's talk this through and make the smartest decision we can. [ she hummed ]

the 2 leaders walk back into the main practice room to announce the positions they decided on.

↪ after a long conversation, we are now happy with the part distribution and we hope that you guys are all happy with it too!!

⊹ ࣪ ˖ CHOI ARA﹢꒰ HYBE ꒱ :
↪ part one, jang eunseo.
     part two, mae sihyeon.
     part three, ito fumiko.
     part four, noh hwajin.
     part five, me.
     part six, byun yura.
     part seven —

there was a dramatic pause as the camera panned between myung haesook and lee chaein. both girls wanted the part, but only one could get it in the end. who could have received it?

the camera focused on lee chaein who looked disappointed in the decision.

✧˖° LEE ୨୧ CHAEIN ᣞ ⟢ : i really wanted part seven, but that's okay.. i think myung haesook will do justice for the part and really shine on stage. i just hope that i get a good part where i can shine too.

lee chaein looked a bit relieved at the announcement. she was alright with having part 10 because there was a solo part that came with it.

     and lastly part twelve, lee haemin.

✧˖° LEE ୨୧ HAEMIN ᣞ ⟢ : i know a lot of people would be disappointed in receiving part 12, but i was actually very relieved. i don't have strong vocals or dance skills, so being in a part where the spotlight is not constantly on me would give me a chance to use my short part to really shine since it doesn't only rely on dance and vocals to make an impact. the key to part 12 is stage presence.

while everyone seemed content with their positions in high ground, it didn't go exactly as smooth in low ground..
