Melanie Meri, the only child of Eric and Mia Mer, lived a normal live in the boring town that was Beacon Hill. She had two best friends, Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski, great grades, a mordant sugar addiction, and being a mermaid.

Her family were the quiet nice family that no one made any attention to. But what people didn't know behind closed doors where the family's big secret. When any type of water appeared scales would slowly start to appear. But it wasn't till they were fully covered in water did they grow a tail.

Her mother, Mia, works at the hospital where she started as a nurse but than decided to become a doctor. Her father, Eric, was a stay at home dad. He used to work at a pet store but had to stop because of almost turning into a mermaid a few to many times. And then there was Melanie, their heart. She was the best daughter and they couldn't ask for a better one. She had great grades and would barely if ever would get into trouble. Was always kind and respectful to anyone she met. She was one of the best on track and worked part time at the animal shelter.

And they kept their huge family secret, that was until her two best friend's drag her out of bed to see a dead body. But when they go back to where Scott got bit to find his inhaler they stumble apon someone who would help the three figure out more about the world of werewolves. And Melanie is faced with a choice, keep her life long secret or tell them and not only put herself in danger but also her family.
