✧ SYNOPSIS ♡ Duncan has to leave for tour but his boyfriend isn't ready for him to go.

    TOURING THE WORLD was always one of the best yet stressful things, but preparing to be away from home for months on end is something that Duncan de Moor was still working on getting used to. He was in love with what he did but always hated actually having to leave his loved ones for such a long period of time.

    This time around, he had his partner to think about. Sheldon and Duncan had met through a mutual friend just a month before the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest began. It was as if fate decided that they were meant to meet right then. He ended up helping the Australian with further preparations and the two became friends quite quickly.

    Their relationship didn't blossom into the romance they had today until three months after the competition, but it just felt right. It had been difficult at first though since both of them lived in different countries and the Dutch man was often busy with recording a plethora of songs. However, they made it work.

    Sheldon had recently come to visit his lover before the older male had to go on his tour. He hadn't expected it to be that hard to let him go, but in the days leading up to it, the Hernandez found himself not wanting Duncan to leave. At first, he felt as though it was selfish of him, but it was the first time in a while that the two had this much time with each other.

    The day came when Duncan had to leave and it was decided that Sheldon would stay in the Netherlands for a bit longer to get to know his boyfriend's family more. The two lovers had just said goodbye to each other, but the Australian couldn't let go of the many feelings in his chest; sadness, love, a bit of desire since he wanted to be near the man he loved.

    It seemed to control him and he decided to follow Duncan to the airport, somehow in hopes that he could stop the other male. He understood how important all of this was and he was one of his boyfriend's biggest supporters, but it felt too soon. Some may call him crazy but Sheldon Riley didn't care all that much.

    The search for his partner was honestly not as hard as he thought it would be, but he hesitated to make his presence known to the older brunette. He sighed before finally speaking, "Please don't go just yet."

    He watched as the de Moor turned at the sound of his voice. There was a silence that filled the space around them. There wasn't that many people in the airport during that time, which was honestly surprising to the younger male. A softness washed over the Dutch man's features once he made eye contact with Sheldon.

    "What are you doing here," Duncan asked with confusion present in his tone, having not expected his lover to follow him here.

    The Aussie took a breath before stepping closer to his boyfriend, taking one of his hands in his own. "I'm not ready for you to go yet. I know it may seem selfish but I just want you to stay longer. By the time you get back, I'm probably going to be back home."

    He paused, trying to figure out the best way to word what he was thinking. It was so hard to be this open sometimes but he did a good job with it when he had time to process. His boyfriend was always the most understanding.

    He continued, "I don't want to stop you from performing or seeing your fans, but I just had to come and see you. I don't want to seem like I'm not happy for you because I am—I just thought we'd have more time with each other before today."

    Duncan smiled slightly, not at all feeling like Sheldon didn't want to support him. He could understand how hard it was since he sometimes would feel that way too. He did not hesitate to pull his boyfriend in for a much needed hug.

    "It's okay, I promise." He reassured.

    The brunette thought of the best solution for the situation. He honestly felt the same and would end up missing his boyfriend during the time he'd be away. He pulled away, still having that same smile present.

    "I have to go soon, but what if you came with me? Not now obviously but in a couple of days. We can arrange everything and you can join me on tour for a little bit before you have to go back to Australia."

    The idea piqued Sheldon's interest and he himself smiled at the thought of seeing the man he loved perform every night. He loved the idea and quickly nodded, thinking that it would be fun. It wasn't what he had been expecting but it was a great compromise of sorts.

    The Hernandez leaned over and placed a kiss on the older male's cheek. "That really does sound great."

    He was still slightly upset that he would have to say goodbye again, he felt relieved knowing that he could see Duncan again sooner than he originally expected.

    Within the next couple of minutes, the call for Duncan's plane boarding was made and he had to go.

    "We will talk about it when I land, alright." He commented before getting ready to walk in the direction he needed to go.

    Sheldon smiled once more and said, "I'll hold you to that."

    The two gave each other one last hug before Duncan headed off to board his plane, leaving Sheldon alone with his thoughts.
