chapter two - "We're gonna go kill those preppy assholes!"

Sidney followed in onto the bus after Kate who had followed Dee. Walking and getting pulled into a seat seeing a grinning Simon dressed in a witch outfit, with the green face and everything. "I swear on everything if you get the green paint on me I might actually kill you."
"But you're just so damn kissable," He flirted, kissing her cheek.
She shook her head pushing him away lightly, "Si,"
The rest of the drive was spent with her head on his shoulder as they played with each other's fingers. Talking like they always did, being honest and just catching or informing each on what the other missed. As the sun set and the bus calmed down as they drove through Sunnyvale. Most people talked about what they would do with their type of money. Or what they really thought of the town, which was very colorful.
The three girls stood next to each other, lighting their candles as they sighed when Sunnyvale's Mayor cleared his throat about to start his speech. "Our Sunnyvale Devils and your Shadyside Witches throwing down some good old American football. Instead I find myself here as a husband, a father, as a neighbor. And, yes, mayor of Sunnyvale." Sid rolled her eyes, knowing no one from Sunnyvale really cared about the victims; they were just happy they don't live there. "And on behalf of all of the people in my town. I say all of Sunnyvale mourns with you."
"Bullshit," She muttered as Kate nodded in agreement, "Yeah, really looks like they give a damn." See the only people that were from Sunnyvale had to be here. The cheerleaders, football players, and band members.
"Our hearts are broken with grief," Mayor Goode stated as Sidney's head tilted, watching as Mayor Goode's brother, Nick Goode, got onto the stage, not understanding why she got hit with such a strong wave of anxiety and dread.
"My family has lived in Sunnyvale for generations." He started. "And now my brother is mayor and I your sheriff. We've prospered here. And yet, I've seen you, our neighbors in Shadyside, suffer tragedy after tragedy. It's easy in times like this to drown in questions of why." He took a pause and it made Sid's heart stop and she couldn't understand why. Grabbing for Dee's hand and seeing her gone, instead moved for Kate's. Who held it, squeezing it lightly remembering how bad her anxiety got during any bug tests.
"Why this happened? But I know too well there are no answers that will provide relief. There's no peace found in the past. We must not fall into darkness, we must look to the light." He stated.
"Yeah!" A boy scoffed. "What we should do is light a fuse and burn down Shittyside,"
"What'd you say?"
"I said it ain't a tragedy when it happens every week," The boy stated as him and a few other football players started walking towards him. "It's a joke."
Kate held the Wilkenson girl back as they both slowly backed away from the about to break fight, knowing she wouldn't face well at a fight right now.
"Say that again, motherfucker!" A Shadysider exclaimed, pushing the Sunnyvale football player back.
And sure enough a fight broke out. Sunnyvale football player punched him back which made other people punch him and Sidney started losing count.Getting as few away as she could watching as Nick Goode got in between one fight, feeling someone brush past her, seeing the fimilar witch costume. Knowing this would be ending with him on her couch as she bandaged him up.
"Kate -- fuck!" She went to warn but watched Kate get elbowed in the face. "I think peace left the building a long time ago." She sighed out tightening her ponytail as they were all forced back on the bus.
"Piece of shit!" Kate shouted standing up and moving away from the now less anxious Wilkenson that was holding an ice pack to her face. "They think they can do whatever they want!" She went off and everyone on the bus went wild. "They ruin our vigil, then go waltzing back to their mansions, like we're some reject pile that they can step on!" She yelled starting to get Sid's ange going. "Well, we are not the reject pile, this shit ends tonight!"
"Yeah!"
"What are we gonna do?" Simon asked.
"We're gonna go kill those preppy assholes!" Sidney yelled jumping up, joining in.
"Hell, yeah!" Simon exclaimed as everyone on the bus started going wild.
Sid went to back of the bus to check on Dee not knowing if she had been hurt or not, but got distracted seeing a pair of headlights and a car honking. Crouched next to Dee as they watched the car get significantly closer to the bus. "The fuck?"
"Goddamn, Sunnyvalers," Deena muttered, before both of them jumping back after a bottle with some blue liquid was thrown at them.
"Guys! Come here! Come here!" Dee yelled, as Sid watched the red car to see what they were doing next. Seeing another bottle getting thrown at the bus causing the window to crack. She scooted back scared she would get cut by either the bottle coming through the glass, or the glass from the soon-to-be broken window.
Feeling her head and upper body crash into someone, looking up to see a green faced Simon. "Hi,"
"Hi," He smiled back before going back tot watching the car. "Hey, isn't that uh --" He trailed off.
"Sam,"
Samantha Fraser sat in the passenger seat of the car. She only knew Sam because of Dee and knew very well how that ended. Watching her go for the cooler as Sid and Simon switched places. Helping Dee with the cooler as she watched as he started to pull the back of his pants down, shaking her head and slightly chuckling before turning back to the cooler. "Sunnyvale sucks!"
"Open the door." Deena commanded as they both saw Kate looking flabbergasted. "Open the door!"
Kate did so as Sid heard the light beeping, holding the other side of the cooler full of ice and water. "This is definitely a good idea, right?" She questioned looking between both of them. "Deena? Sidney?"
"On three, okay?" Deena said as Sidney could feel the adrenaline rush in its full effect. "One..two...three!"
"Deena!" Both girls exclaimed, making her distracted looking between them as the cooler fell out of boths grips and out of the bus. "Your nose!"
"Holy shit!" The Wilkenson teen yelled as she watched the cooler slammed onto the front of the car which caused it to crash into the woods.
"Stop! Stop the bus!"
💀
Stumbling down the hill into the forest to the crash site. Feeling guilty that she had let go of the cooler, hoping no one had died from stupid misshandling. "Sam!" Deena exclaimed, "Are you okay?" She questioned looking over Sam's face seeing it was bloody.
"Stay away from her--" the boy in the driver's seat said before ending it was calling Dee a slur. "Oh great the homophob survived," Sid remarked seeing he was still alive.
Deena kept asking and checking on Sam who was sorta out of it. "Did-did you s-see?" She stuttered out, Sid bent down next to the two concerned for the dirty blonde.
"Oh shit!" Simon exclaimed, kneeling on the other side of Dee, looking at Sam.
"Okay, we should not be down here," Kate stated looking around.
"Shut up, help me carry her!"
"We should of left, like ten minutes ago,"
"We have to clear her airway," Simon stated, starting to move his hand near her face. "Quit it!" Deena exclaimed, slapping his hand away. "The fuck you mean clear her airway? You didn't pay any attention to any first aid class we took?" Sidney remarked looking at him confused.
"Hey! I got this. Chill out," He stated turning back towards Sam. "How many fingers am I holding up?"
"Three,"
"See, she's fine," Simon stated to Dee, as the two rolled their eyes. "Just try to keep her awake and try not to raise her heartbeat until an ambulance shows --" Sid started to inform Dee but Sam cut her off by coughing up blood making it fly all over Sid's face. Trying her best to ignore any way that the blood could have gotten into her mouth. Wiping her eyes and turning around to Simon who was now behind her. Gesturing through her fuzzy vision to wipe her face on the his white shirt.
"I think Imma be sick," She remarked with a clearly disgusted face.
"It's all off of you," Kate announced to try and calm the upset girl.
"Is it? Is it completely off of me!" She shouted, losing her previously cooled temper.
"Uh, yeah you're good," Simon insisted, holding either side of her arms trying to calm his girlfriend down. Reaching a hand up to her chin whipping the corners of her jaw and whipping the extra blood over his shirt.
The ambulance and police arrived, Sheriff Nick Goode started to talk to each one of them saying he needed witness statements. Sidney kept to back trying to either be the last or be completely forgotten about. Trying to keep from talking to Goode as the second she saw him the same anxious dread feeling came back to the pit of her stomach.
"You," He pointed to Sidney, "You're next."
She sighed lightly, walking up to him crossing her arms, looking anywhere besides him. "Name?"
"Sidney," She answered as he looked up from his notepad doing a double take before looking down. "Sidney what?"
"Wilkenson, Sidney Wilkenson."
His face fell, but only for a second, regaining his composure and clearing his throat before starting to question her. Going along with silent agreement that the group had already agreed with. Insiteding that it was just a freak accident that she was just happy they were there to help when they crashed.
"Hey, if you think of anything else, give me a call," Sheriff Goode stated, holding out a small card to her. "I'm on your side."
She nodded, giving a meek smile along with a meek response, "Thanks."
She started to walk away but he grabbed her forearm making her quickly turn back, looking down at his hand and back at him. He let her go letting his arm slowly fall to his side, "One more thing. You don't know a Andie Wilkenson, do you?'
She shrugged, not giving it a second thought just trying to get out of the situation. "Is there a problem, Sidney?" Simon asked, walking up to Sid wrapping an arm around her waist pulling him closer to her side.
"Nope," She replied, looking between them before looking up at his green face. "Sheriff Goode was just giving me his card. Are we free to go?"
He nodded looking between the two before nodding, "Yeah, y'all are free to go."
Simon wrapped his jacket around her as the two walked back to Dee and Kate. Going back to Sidney's house trying to calm down the night's events. All sitting around in her living room as a horror movie played in the background. "Do we have to watch this?" Deena asked, fidgeting on her spot on the couch.
"Well it's either this or info-mercial." She remarked whipping her face off with a wet washcloth as Simon washed his face-paint off.
Kate walked back into the living room, sighing heavy while pulling the ice pack from her face. "Well, that was my mom. She wants me home," She announced as Deena agreed saying she needed to go check up on Josh.
Sidney opened her mouth but her landline started to ring, looking over at the clock seeing the time and knowing it was her dad. "Si, walk them home please."
"Already on it," He replied, tossing the cloth onto the coffee table as they all stood up walking opposite ways.
Making her way down the small dining room that separated the kitchen and living room. Reaching the ringing phone on the far end of the counter top. "Wilkensons residents," She answered picking it up.
"Four rings."
"I know, I was busy getting blood off my face," She told leaning on the wall next to her.
"Blood?!" He shouted as she had to pull the phone away from her ear.
"Don't worry it's not mine, there was a small fight at the vigile and some bitch clipped Kate with her ring. Nothing to stress about." She said simply hearing the girls saying bye while Simon yelled he would be right back, waving at them before going back to her conversation. "How's your trip so far?"
