# CHAPTER 47 #
After that, Lan Wangji turned around and went back to the potato stall, A-Yuan still in his arms. Wei Wuxian looked at them fondly, although his good mood faltered after he realised Wen Qing would lecture him about spending Lan Wangji's money. But at least they had potatoes.
"Lan Zhan?"
"Mn?"
"We have to get you new robes. You can't walk around in your white and shiny Lan robes," Wei Wuxian stopped on the edge of the market, pointing behind him at one of the shops.
"The money could be used better," Lan Wangji replied. "You need food."
"You're missing the point. Everyone can see you from distance."
The Lan turned to face him. "Mn. I can dye them."
Wei Wuxian grabbed his wrist and began dragging him in the opposite direction. "Heck no. Don't ruin them, they had to cost more than all the potatoes we consume in one year."
"No."
"We can get some nice robes for A-Yuan."
"..."
Said child tugged at Lan Wangji's hair. "Blue!"
Wei Wuxian laughed. "Of course we can get blue ones, little radish. But only if your Rich-gege takes ones as well."
A-Yuan nuzzled at Lan Wangji's shoulder. "Please, Rich-gege. Want blue clothes."
Lan Wangji sighed.
"Fine."
"Ooh, look at these ones! They make your eyes look really good!" We Wuxian jumped enthusiastically around Lan Wangji, who stood in the edge of the shop dressed in ninth set of robes with his usual expression.
"Mn."
A-Yuan tugged on them, studying the cloth carefully. It made Wei Wuxian's heart warm, to see the child behave like his partner.
"I don't like them," the toddler announced seriously. Lan Wangji's lips twitched slightly upwards, while Wei Wuxian burst out laughing. The loud sound filled the room, making the seller look up from her work to check if they're alright.
"Alright, you gremlin child. Which ones are the best for the mighty Hanguang-Jun?" he asked, amused, patting A-Yuan's head.
"The grass ones," he said, pointing at one of the first robes they picked, dark green with some purple.
Wei Wuxian lifted one eyebrow. "That are some unusual colors, Lan Zhan. Do you want to maybe go for some dark blue shades, you know, like your Lan robes."
"No. A-Yuan picked well," Lan Wangji decided and immediately turned to the seller, pulling out the money to purchase their new clothes.
They walked out of the shop already changed, with A-Yuan happily walking between them, while they held his hands.
Lan Wangji was glad he left the Cloud Recesses, as he has never felt so happy. Maybe only with Xichen. But his brother had loads of new responsibilities that came with the title Sect Leader, so they haven't been able to spend time together anyway.
They've been able to eat together once in a while, but it couldn't replace their gossiping sessions they had almost daily in Jingshi or Hanshi. It was a wonder that they never got caught by their uncle, as they've been getting away with it probably since Lan Wangji turned ten.
But walking towards the village hidden in Burial Mounds with Wei Ying and A-Yuan was a completely different feeling. He was eternally thankful for getting to live trough it, and he wished the warm and fuzzy feeling never stopped.
His heart swelled with joy and adoration, as he watched the two interact. He squeezed A-Yuan's hand and his gaze softened, when he caught that the topic of their conversations were rabbits. He briefly wondered if he could return for a pair to show the child, but he quickly banished the thought. They had troubles feeding only the people, and quickly breeding rabbits would make the task even harder.
As the village slowly came to the view, an idea came into Lan Wangji's head. Not even stopping to think about it, he stopped and undid his forehead ribbon, folding it in his hand. Then, he let go of A-Yuan's hand and turned to the other man.
"Wei Ying," he said quietly, but effectively catching his attention, as Wei Wuxian stopped as well and turned to him.
"What is it Lan Zhan? Are you nervous? I'm sure they will accept you very quickly," he said brightly, but then he halted, surprised. "Where is your forehead ribbon? Did you lose it? We can return if you lost it or-"
"Wei Ying," Lan Wangji repeated and opened his fist, in which he clutched said ribbon, towards the man. "Take it," he offered, glancing towards the other's wrist.
"I-" Wei Ying gasped, his pupils widening. His eyes burned, tears threatening to fall. He went to touch the ribbon, but then he drew his hand back. "Lan Zhan, what... What do you mean?"
"Wei Ying, I promised to stay with you forever but I broke it by snatching the ribbon tied on you. Although it was a misunderstanding, I still have wronged you by calling off our engagement. I am sorry. I am extremely sorry."
Both Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian had tears in their eyes.
"Please," Lan Wangji continued. "Please accept my ribbon. Please accept me."
"Lan Zhan..." Wei Wuxian sobbed in the middle of the streets. "I have already forgiven you for your mistakes. You do not have to tie your ribbon on me, again, just to rectify your mistakes. Please..."
"Wei Ying, I am not tying this on you to rectify my mistakes." Lan Wangji took a deep breath in. "This is to make you mine, officially, once again, just like before. Wei Ying, will you accept me into your life, once again? Please..."
"Yes, Lan Zhan! Yes!" Wei Wuxian sobbed harder.
This was all that he would ever want. To belong to Lan Wangji! His heart had shattered when Lan Wangji had called off the engagement and had snatched away the ribbon from him. And now that... Things were getting back in place... He just could not control his tears filed with happiness!
"Xian-gege?" A small voice came from the ground and they both looked down, startled, completely forgetting about the toddler. "Why are you crying?"
Wei Wuxian laughed, "Your rich gege wants to marry me." He announced.
A-Yuan's eyes widened. "If you mawy rich gege, will you two be my parents?"
"Mn." Lan Wangji answered before Wei Wuxian could even think of it properly.
Wei Wuxian looked between the two of them. "I can't believe you would go against me. Especially you, A-Yuan. You traitor."
"Please Xian-gege!"
Wei Wuxian smiled. Then turning to Lan Wangji, he said, "Lan Zhan, I'm just.. I'm just scared for you. Won't your uncle throw you out? He did not like it even back then when you tied the ribbon on me."
"He is not the Sect Leader."
"And your brother?"
Lan Wangji coughed. "He was thrilled when I announced him my intention to come here."
"I- Just so you know, you can always take the offer down. I won't be mad, I promise," Wei Ying looked at him seriously. "As I said, I wouldn't hold you here against your will."
"Won't take it down. Love Wei Ying."
"Oh, alright," he stuttered out, blush coloring his cheeks. "Then, of course," he said, smiling. "I accept your proposal."
Lan Wangji took his time to tie the ribbon around Wei Wuxian's wrist properly, while said man was blushing furiously the whole time. A-Yuan watched both his geges from the ground, when he was happily sitting and clapped his tiny hands.
"Uh, just for the record," spoke Wei Wuxian, when they resumed their walk to the village after a bit.
"I love you too."
The red ribbon was long forgotten by Lan Wangji, who accidentally dropped it in the shop. But nobody knew that A-Yuan secretly picked it up and wore it wrapped around his arm under his robes, like a lucky charm. He never told anyone, but it seemed to actually work.
