Wei Wuxian stiffened when he heard Lan Wangji call him, 'Patriach'. That word was enough for Wei Wuxian to understand the pain that he had felt when he had waken up, not to find Wei Wuxian beside him but with some other guy.

Wei Wuxian understood clearly the pain on Lan Wangji's eyes. Ever since his resurrection, Wei Wuxian had wanted Lan Wangji to distance himself from him. But now that it was really happening, Wei Wuxian couldn't ignore the pain on his heart.

When Xue Yang had come running to him saying that Lan Wangji wouldn't wake up, Wei Wuxian's heart froze for a moment. He felt hard to breath. He soon came to Lan Wangji only to find Wem Qing examining him. He could not show out his love and care for Lan Wangji in front of anyone, so he clenched his teeth and tried to suppress his feelings. He clutched onto his flute harder.

He could not see Lan Wangji in that state. He had not seen Lan Wangji for almost two weeks and now, looking at him, he had gone slim and looked weak. Wei Wuxian clenched his teeth thinking that he was the only reason for Lan Wangji to be like this.

He tried to calm himself down and had asked Wen Qing,

"How is he?"

"He is fine now. He has been using his spiritual energy for the past days and had been starving. He would be a little better if he had consumed water but he hadn't taken water too. I have pass him some spiritual energy so he is fine now. But I cannot tell you exactly when he would wake up."

"That's good." Wei Wuxian replied trying to hold back the tears. He then turned towards Xue Yang who was standing beside him and said,

"You brought him in so he is your responsibility. If something had happened to him, will you be able to answer the Gusu Lan's?" Wei Wuxian barked.

Xue Yang had kept silent knowing that his brother was right but he did not like the way how his brother ignored the fact that he must be responsible to Lan Wangji's state as he was the main culprit but he knew that it could only be true if Wei Wuxian had feelings for Lan Wangji. Looking at how undisturbed he looks, Xue Yang began doubting if his brother really had no feelings for Lan Wangji.

"You better take good care of him." Was the only thing Wei Wuxian could say before storming our because he could no longer hide his tears.

Wei Wuxian had come into his cave and put on a barrier so tht no one could enter and as soon as he knew that he was alone, he fell on his knees and had begun crying. He couldn't bear the pain. The pain that came from the bottom of his heart.

"Lan Zhan....," he had cried, "I am sorry. I am sorry, please forgive me. Its all because of me. I am sorry. Lan Zhan, why did you hurt yourself? You could have poured down the soup on my mouth and I would have no other option but to drink. But.... But why did you chose this way? Why did you hurt yourself? How could you hurt yourself Lan Zhan? You could have rather killed me...."

He has gone crying for who knew how long and when he finally understood that him shutting himself inside the cave would be suspicious so he soon tried to calm himself down and took off the barrier and acted as if nothing was bothering him.

Later that night, when no else had been around, Wei Wuxian had snuck into where Lan Wangji was kept and glanced at him for one last time before sneakily putting on a talisman on the wall of the cave through which he would be able to see what was happening in this cave and another talisman on Lan Wangji through which he'd be able to see what Lan Wangji. It will be playing on his mind as a movie.

And that's how he had been watching over Lan Wangji for the past four days.

When Lan Wangji had come back to his consciousness and asked about him, Wei Wuxian had felt immense pain. He knew how Lan Wangji would be hurt to know that he had never been to him when he was not well. He felt sorry for Lan Wangji.

Wei Wuxian had been staying on his cave when Lan Wangji had woken up. His heart was screaming to go to his beloved and take care of him but he did not. He did not want to show his love neither to Lan Wangji or others. He would Bury his love if that was the only way to keep Lan Wangji safe.

He had not expect Jin Guanyao to visit him today and when Jin Guanyao had requested him if they could go out and dine together, Wei Wuxian had thought this would be a better way to prove Lan Wangji that he did not care about him and this would make Lan Wangji distance himself from Wei Wuxian.

Wei Wuxian never expected Lan Wangji would come to see him to the town. And it broke his heart when Lan Wangji pleaded Xue Yang to taje him meet Wei Wuxian.

And when they had finally come, Wei Wuxian pretended not to care while he was praying on his mind that Lan Wangji would at least glance at him for once. But unfortunately Lan Wangji did not.

And now, here he was, feeling so dejected by hearing Lan Wangji address him as 'The Patraich'.

Jin Guanyao was taken aback hearing Lan Wangji address Wei Wuxian 'The Patraich'. So he thought may be he should use this chance to distance Lan Wangji more from Wei Wuxian, so he said,

"A-xian, you should not blame either of them. I think, your brother just wanted to help Lan Wangji."

Lan Wangji stiffened when Jin Guanyao addressed Wei Wuxian as "A-xian". He clenched his teeth and hid his tears, saying to Xue Yang,

"Let's leave."

Xue Yang too obeyed knowing that Lan Wangji was hurting inside.

When they had finally gone far from the restaurant, Xue Yang asked,

"Why did you go meet them if you did not want to speak with brother?"

"I just wanted him to know that I was still alive."
