The rest of the classes ended fast and we all got out of college. I said bye to Amy and went to where my car was parked to see Lily and Zinnia already there, waiting for me. We three got in the car and drove off to our home.
It was around eight and me and Zinnia were watching 'I Saw the Devil'. It was me who picked that movie as I was a die hard fan of crime, action, horror and violent movies. But on the contrary, Zinnia didn't like those genres at all. She was into fantasy and comedy movies while Lily liked romantic ones. We three had different tastes, so whenever we decided to have a movie night, a fight could be expected.
But tonight, somehow, I managed to manipulate the movie night and there, we were watching Choi Min-sik chopping his victim's body barbarously like a bloodthirsty, callous monster.
I saw Zinnia had her eyes shut from the corner of my eyes and I couldn't control myself from laughing at her grimace face.
"Yo, there's a man cutting a woman into pieces as if it is a fucking meat and you are here laughing your ass off. Are you even human?" asked Zinnia, seeing how hard I was laughing.
"I am a human and that's why I couldn't control myself when I looked at your freaking weird face," I said in between my laughter.
"I am not a cold hearted person like you. So all these are so fucking much for me," said Zinnia, standing up.
"Hey, where are you going? This is only the beginning." I tried to make Zinnia sit.
"Yeah and that's exactly why I am going."
"You're such a pussy," I mocked her.
"Hey, I'm not a pussy. I - "
"What's with all the yelling?" Lily interrupted our squabble as she climbed down the stairs.
We looked at her and saw her all ready for the date night with her boyfriend. She was looking gorgeous, wearing a sleeveless pastel blue mid knee length dress with light makeup. She had her long brown wavy hair pulled up into a bun with loose strands of hair falling out.
"Wow, you look beautiful," I said.
"Thanks, Elka," Lily said, smiling.
"Yeah, you look great. Wish I could date you," said Zinnia, licking her lips to tease Lily.
"Oh God, Zinnia. Watch your mouth!" Lily smacked the back of Zinnia's head.
"Sorry, I was just joking."
While we were having our small happy time, a horn was heard from outside.
"It must be Andrew. Ok girls, I gotta go. I have prepared the dinner, just heat it before eating. Make sure all the doors and windows are locked and then sit for your movie. I'll call you if I'm gonna be late and don't stay late," commanded Lily.
"Yes, mom!" I said, rising from my seat.
Lily chucked to herself hearing the name. She always liked it when I called her mom.
"Ok, bye girls," said Lily, opening the door.
"Bye," said Zinnia, waving at her.
Lily closed the door behind her and walked to Andrew's car. I sat back on the couch while Zinnia went to the kitchen saying she was hungry.
I thought how would it feel like to go on a date, spending time with their maybe 'the one', talking about the mere things in life- a movie that released a week ago or a new restaurant that opened around the corner or even what they had for lunch that day, holding hands and taking a stroll on park, kissing under the yellow lamp post with the moon beholding a moment that they were going to treasure forever. I asked myself why I didn't feel those things, the giddiness and butterflies in my tummy. All I got was shivers running down my spine and my breath being a tad shallow and peaky. So I just shook my head to get rid of those hassling thoughts and continued to watch a psychopath endeavoring pleasure by seeing the blood drip from human bodies.

I woke up to the sound of the alarm. I sat up and stretched, yawning and then got ready for college and climbed downstairs.
Zinnia was already up and was making tea for herself. Lily wasn't there. She called us yesterday night, telling us that she would come to college with Andrew.
"Good morning," I wished her, flashing a smile.
"Good morning, Ms. Tsundere."
I froze for a second before pulling the chair, looking at Zinnia perplexed.
"How the hell do you know about that?" I asked with my eyes wide open.
"Amy told me," replied Zinnia.
"What? Why? I mean why the fuck would Amy say something like this to you."
"Yo, calm down girl. She's not to blame,"
"I'm not blaming her. This is merely something and why would she tell this? And that to you?"
"Well, we were chatting yesterday and I asked her how her day was and then she said this. It's probably because there wasn't anything else to say," said Zinnia.
"Yeah, maybe." I partially agreed with her.
"Here, I made coffee for you. It may not be like Lily's but it's good," said Zinnia, placing my coffee mug on the counter.
"Thanks," I said.
I saw Zinnia looking at me with her sable orbs wide as I took a sip, waiting for me to praise her for the coffee.
Only if there was something to praise for!
As soon as I gulped down the coffee, a look of disgust spread across my face to which Zinnia's face went blank.
"You call this coffee? My ass!" I snarled. "This is not at all like Lily's coffee, in fact this isn't a coffee."
Zinnia rolled her eyes.
"I know I'm not a pro like Lily but still, I managed to make coffee for you. You could at least appreciate my effort, Elka," said Zinnia, taking her tea cup.
"Shit!" I cursed myself under my breath. "Hey, I know. I'm sorry," I apologized.
"It's fine. Lily's the one to blame. She's the only one who made you a spoiled brat."
I chuckled.
"Is toasted bread okay for you?" asked Zinnia, taking two slices of bread and placing it on the toaster.
"Yeah, sounds good," I said.
I should be thankful to Zinnia after all. So I thought that I would adjust with toasted bread just for today.
"By the way, do you and Amy chat every day?" I asked.
My nose for news was being curious about Zinnia and Amy.
"Umm..not really. I just simply texted her yesterday," Zinnia said without looking at me and being busy with the bread.
"Ok." I nodded my head.
This is the perfect time, Elka. If not now, then never.
"Umm...Zin?"
"Yeah?"
"I have got something to ask you."
"Shoot!" said Zinnia, looking at me as she felt that my question wasn't something trivial.
"Do you perhaps li-"
'POP'
I was cut off by the 'pop' sound of the toaster.
Fuck this machine!
Zinnia handed me the toasted bread on a plate along with the nutella jar and a butter knife.
"So, you were saying?" asked Zinnia after placing two pieces of bread for her on the toaster.
"Do you perhaps in any way like Amy?" I asked, spreading nutella on bread.
I was trying to sound all cool but my heart was thumping inside for God knows what.
Zinnia looked at me with a blank face. Sensing the silence, I looked at her. We were looking at each other for a few seconds until Zinnia walked towards me and leaned closer on the counter. She was gazing at me, her sable eyes piercing through my black ones.
I unknowingly swallowed the small lump that was formed in my throat.
"You realised that only now?"
I try to beat the struggle for you
But that's just too hard for anyone to do
