Taehyung Pov

I clumped into her apartment, my shaky hand covered with blood reached for the doorknob of her room. I paused for a moment when I heard her sobs. I shut my eyes and took a deep breath before turning it.

Her head shot up to mine, more tears rushed out of her gorgeous eyes. She then lowered her head, peering at the floor.

I sat down next to her on the bed, she saw my bloody knuckles, an audible gasp escaped her mouth. She stood on her feet to take the first-aid box but I pulled her by her wrist.

She fell on my chest as I lay on her bed. I embraced her and she obediently stayed still.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I queried.

"I didn't want you to worry." She sniffled, "I'm sorry, for b-breaking our promise."

"It's okay," I sighed and pecked her forehead.

"I should have been clear with you from the start. This is part of my fault." I nibbled on my lower lip before adding, "red, our threat. Our fate, a challenge that may rip us apart."

"What did she do before?" Violet questioned.

"Long story."

"Your majesty, Jeah has escaped from the jail. I've already sent the troops the find her but seems like she's heading to Baekje..." Namjoon informed.

I clenched my hand, the white knuckles emerging. Valeria went back to Baekje this morning to visit her father.

"Get my horse, we're going to Baekje. Now!" I rasped.

I whipped my horse with the crop, going as fast as I can as we set off to Baekje.

The clouds turned visibly grey in the dark sky. The rain started to pour drops after drops, it spilled heavily but nothing can stop me from going to her.

Almost there, please.

I jumped off my horse when we arrived in their kingdom. I ran towards the throne room where Valeria should be at.

The lightning struck the high-branching tree in front of me, tearing it apart mercilessly. I ran and ran, kicking the door open. My eyes bulged when I saw Jeah who was in a red dress pointing an arrow at Valeria, who was standing in front of her father.

"Taehyung-

The sound of the storm was heard.

Valeria's eyes met mine, a sharp scream came out of her mouth when the arrow pierced into her chest. Valeria's eyes were fixed on mine when she collapsed on the floor.

"No," I trembled and kneeled in front of her, I picked her up and connected our hands together. Namjoon rushed in to control Jeah along with the troops, killing her in an instant by slicing the knife across her throat.

A pool of bright red blood was formed around Valeria, her dress soaked the blood, dying it from purple to red.

"Valeria- "

The lump in my throat forced me to stop, I couldn't even let out a sound, seeing her dying in front of me.

"Tae- we'll meet again, I-I love you." She said with her last breath, losing her consciousness, her hand fell down from my face. My world fell apart.

"Baby-? No, no this is not r-real." I shook my head vigorously and i...... I laughed.

Then, I cried.

"So, red, she's our threat?" Violet's eyes saddened after hearing the full story. I smiled weakly and brushed her hair to the back of her ear to get a clearer view of her face.

"Hm, I knew if she has found you, she would use her signature ways—red, to threaten you. So, when you rejected drinking the tomato juice, I knew." I commented, she was acting like how she usually is that day, I almost didn't realize something wasn't right.

"I'm sorry." She closed her eyes and pressed her head to my body. I smiled softly and caressed her face.

"We will do this together, you are not alone so please, don't keep them to yourself." My hands reached down to her face, bringing to me.

"Okay."

"Hi," I whispered into her ear, she was startled but smiled when she saw me.

"Ready?" I winked.

"Yes."

I drove us to the garden. We brought some wine and snacks along to keep our stomachs full and warm.

"Wait," I said when Violet was about to sit on the grass, her eyes enlarged a little in confusion. I took off my blazer and placed it on the floor. "Here," I held out my hand for her to use as a handle, she carefully sat down on my blazer and mouthed a thank you.

"Wow," Violet exclaimed, her eyes glowed under the stars while she was busy admiring the skyscrapers under our feet. I remodeled the roof of the greenhouse, designed it to be a place for myself to chill. Now I have her to come with me.

The fast-paced city, Seoul was in full view. Neon lights and gigantic banners hanging on the skyscrapers were catching our eyes. "Never knew Seoul can be this beautiful." Violet let out a sound in awe.

"This place can be very beautiful, only if nothing bad happens," I added and took out the fruits from the basket. "Say ah," She raised her eyebrows but understood when she saw me feeding her some strawberries.

She chewed merrily and leaned her head on my shoulders.

"I want to stay like this forever." I inhaled the cool air.

"Same." Violet nodded.

"Tae, was it hard?" She inquired.

"What?"

"Waiting for countless years, wasn't it tough?" Her eyes showed sorrow as she waited for my answer.

"It was, I was about to give up numerous times. Especially when I felt lonely. In the first ten or twenty years, I always numb the pain by alcohol. It was painful to clean the mess I made the previous night every morning with an awful hangover. Later, I realized I should live a life while waiting for you, it took me too long to be enlightened. It was hard, but everything was worth it the moment I saw you." I pecked her forehead, melting into her cuddle.

"Taehyung, what if... only what if... we cannot make it in this life?" Violet added, carefully observing my reaction to her question.

I held her hands in mine before replying, "Then I'll wait, no matter how many decades, centuries it'll take, I'll wait till we meet again."
