NOW YOU CAN FALL IN LOVE WITH ME!

WEDDINGS WERE ALL THAT WAS ON ANYONES MINDS. With Mr Schue announcing that he was proposing to Miss Pillsbury, the glee club had gone into wedding fever and Sam Evans was using this as confidence as he chased down the corridor after Tessa with an optimistic smile creeping onto his face, "pretty romantic huh? You think you're gonna get married someday?"

"I hope so." Tessa replied with a small laugh, "you know anyone who wants the honour?"

Standing up straighter, Sam gave her a single nod as he let out a nervous breathe of air, "yeah, actually. I know this awesome dude who's great at impressions and still totally into you."

Letting out a long sigh, Tessa leant up against her locker to see his expectant face, searching for an answer, "Sam, you know I have a boyfriend."

His shoulders slumping down in disappointment, Sam gave her a single nod, "I know. I just needed you to know exactly how I feel about you. That I'm still crazy about you."

Trying to find the right words to say, Tessa bit the inside of her cheeks out of nerves, "Sam, everything that happened between us was last year." She said quietly.

"But it could be this year as well!" He suggested, optimistically.

"Apart from the fact that I have a boyfriend now." Tessa reminded him.

Frowning to himself, after hearing everyone openly complain about Ryan, Sam felt as though he could too, "why do you even like him? He's a jerk, who clearly doesn't like the real you very much. You could be with someone who really, genuinely likes you."

"Someone like you?" She said through a smirk.

Shrugging his shoulders up and down, Sam flashed her a smile, "yeah, someone like me." Seeing her bite her lip and shake her head, he let out a sigh, "it's because he's a stud athlete isn't it? That letterman jacket makes all the girls go wild, I should know."

"They definitely help." Tessa chuckled, lightly, flashing him a playful wink as she fanned herself with her hand, "you in a letterman jacket — totally hot."

"Totally hot, huh?" Sam said with a proud smirk as he pushed himself up from the lockers and started walking backwards away from her.

"Totally hot!" She called after him playfully, with an amused laugh as she watched him walk away with a bit of a spring in his step, unknown to the ideas that were whirling around his head.

SAM HAD A TOWEL ROUND HIS NECK, A SMILE ON HIS FACE AND A LETTERMAN JACKET ON THE WAY. Filled with confidence, he ran straight over to Finn as he saw him approaching and was totally ready to show off his new sport.

Unable to hide his excitement as he knew he was on the way to getting the girl, he was blind to the fact Finn had had to do a double take to notice Sam's wet hair and towel around his neck, "dude, guess what? I just joined synchronised swimming."

Shushing him as he scanned around the hallway to check he hadn't been overheard, Finn was quick to tell him to be quiet, "keep your voice down dude, do you want everyone to hear you?"

Furrowing his eyebrows together in confusion, Sam nodded slowly, "yeah, that means I get my letterman jacket."

"Dude, you're in synchronised swimming and glee club, it's like you have sone sort of weird death wish." Finn said, skeptically.

With a shake of his head, Sam clearly had the opposite idea, "swimming is sexy."

Watching as Sam's gaze went from him across the halls to where Tessa was coming towards them, Finn let out a long sigh and slapped a hand down on his shoulder, "not if it's synchronized." When the realisation hit, he let out another sigh, "dude, you didn't join to try and win Tess over, did you?"

"She's gonna love it." Sam said confidently, "and the letterman jacket I'll be wearing now."

Running his hand across his head, Finn scrunched up his face, not wanting to crush Sam's spirit, "dude, why didn't you just bring Bieber back? That worked pretty well the first time."

Shaking his head, Sam's grin was still plastered on his face, "I'm not worried."

Flashing him one last thin lipped smile, Finn gave him a hard thump on the back, "good luck dude." He breathed out, picking up the pace and giving Tessa a wide eyed smile as he passed her.

Approaching Sam with a low chuckle, Tessa looked him up and down and tilted her head to the side in confusion, "did someone drop a bucket of water on your head, dude?"

"I joined synchronized swimming." Sam told her proudly, standing himself up taller as he waited for her to gush over him, "sexy right?"

Struggling to find the right words to say, Tessa shrugged her shoulders with a single nod, "if you say so. I mean, if anyone can make synchronized swimming sexy, it's Sam Evans I guess." She said through a laugh, rubbing the back of her neck as she began to put the pieces together and feel guilty, "but you didn't do this for a letterman jacket did you?"

With an embarrassed nod, Sam tried to meet her eyes with a bashful smile, "now you can fall in love with me."

"I can't." She whispered, guiltily, "boyfriend, remember."

"So you want to fall in love with me?" He questioned with a smirk, feeling bold.

Cursing internally as she felt her cheeks heat up, Tessa wasn't given chance to deny his question because Rick and his friends from the hockey team had ruined the moment by throwing a slushy right into Sam's face, "synchronised!" He taunted him.

Seeing the disappointed slump in Sam's shoulders, Tessa took a step forwards, filled with anger, shouting after them, "hey! Swimming is sexy, you jerks!"

Despite having red slushy dripping down his face, Sam found that wiping the slushy away couldn't wipe the confident grin from his lips "swimming is sexy, huh?"

"Oh shut up." Tessa laughed, standing up onto her tiptoes to wipe the slushy off of his hair with a soft smile before slipping an arm around him and leading him to the nearest bathroom to help him clean up.

TESSA HAD BEEN DOING A LOT OF THINKING OVER THE PAST WEEK. With the advice from her friends running through her mind and some old feelings returning quicker than expected thanks to a song, she had to do what she thought was best for herself.

Walking through the empty halls with Ryan, she finally thought she'd found the right moment and spoke up in a quiet tone, "I think we should break up."

Scoffing loudly, Ryan just skimmed over her statement, "what? No you don't." He laughed, taking her hand to pull her forward as she stopped in front of some lockers, resting against them.

"I'm serious, Ryan." Tessa said, firmly, taking her hand back and hugging it around her waist, "I think we should break up."

Furrowing his eyebrows with irritation, Ryan finally stopped himself and walked back towards her, his face filled with confusion, "I don't understand. Girls don't break up with me. I mean, look at me."

"There's a first time for everything." Tessa sassed in return, taking a sharp breathe as she composed herself to ensure she wouldn't back out of her decision.

"I've been completely loyal to you." He accused threateningly, jabbing a finger right in her face, "I could've had anyone I wanted in this school. Any girl on that squad and I chose you."

"Have you though? You think i didn't know you've flirting with half of the Cheerios squad? I chose to look past that." Tessa fought back, her shoulders slumping down slightly as she let out a sigh, "I'm not gonna say that I've been the best girlfriend to you, either. I know I've not been as invested in this relationship as I could've been, but I'm not gonna let you turn this on me. You're as much at fault as I am. You never once appreciated my interests, you never supported me in the things I do, you wouldn't even play a freaking dodgeball game to help me out."

Growing even more annoyed, Ryan ran a hand through his hair, "I have a reputation. One I thought you cared about, I mean, what about next year? We were gonna be the Quarterback and the Head Cheerio. You're throwing all of that away by breaking up with me. I need you to keep this up."

With a hysterical laugh, Tessa threw her hands up into the air before slapping them down at her sides, "I don't care about my reputation!"

"Well you should." Ryan argued, clenching his jaw and beginning to raise his voice at her as Tessa just kept her back against the lockers, letting him let out all of his frustration on her, "you should care about your reputation because the second you take off that uniform and everyone knows we're not dating anymore, they're all gonna find out. Find out that you're just another glee club loser, that you're the biggest dork who gets excited over stupid impressions and stupid school musicals and gets worried if you eat a calorie too many. Everyone's gonna realise what they all secretly know — that you're nothing without anything to hold you up. You're nothing."

Sam Evans had thought he was pretty much alone in Mckinley until he heard shouting. Becoming curious at the raised voices, he found himself turning a corner to see Ryan shouting right into Tessa's face. Hearing what he was saying to her, he felt his blood beginning to boil and before he could stop himself, he was marching forward to defend her.

"What did you just say to her?" He challenged, dangerously. Seeing a clenched jaw was all he was going to get for an answer, he took a step closer, "i said, what did you just say to her?"

"Why does it matter to you?" Ryan spat.

"Because Tess is my best friend. And I'm not gonna let you talk to her like that." Sam said sternly, clenching his fists.

Turning around in the hopes to stop things from getting heated, Tessa gave Sam a small smile, "it's okay, Sam, you can go, I'm fine." Putting a hand down on her shoulder, Sam gently rubbed it with his thumb in comfort, "no, it's not okay."

Thinking better than to start a fight, Ryan let out a groan of frustration before beginning to storm off without another word. Not really wanting to end things on bad terms, Tessa called out for him and waited as he slowly turned around to face her once again, "just find someone you actually like next time." She said, softly.

His expression softening as he realised there was no use in staying angry, Ryan gave her a nod and then Sam the same, "I'd say the same thing to you, but I think you already have."

Once he'd walked away, Tessa turned back to face Sam with a shrug of her shoulders, a relieved smile growing on the corners of her lips. Pouting back at her, Sam stepped forward and carefully held her at arms length, "are you okay?"

Surprising herself, Tessa didn't feel too upset at all bearing in mind the situation, she was more relieved than anything. Nodding back at him, Tessa looked up to meet his worried eyes with a smile, "I'm fine. I'm relieved. It was unfair on the both of us not to break up."

"Yeah. Well I'm sorry it all went down that way." Sam told her, searching her eyes, he knew it was best to keep things friendly and simply opened his arms up and pulled Tessa in for a long hug, letting her rest her head against his chest as he ran his fingers through her hair. Leaning down and placing a gentle kiss to her forehead, he whispered, "just know, you're everything to me."

IT WAS SAM'S IDEA FOR MR SCHUE TO PROPOSE TO MISS PILLSBURY IN A POOL. Waiting for Miss Pillsbury to arrive so they could sing 'We Found Love' and perform their synchronized swimming routine that Sam had helped prepare for them, the New Directions couldn't hide their excitement.

Sitting on the edge of the pool with her legs dangling into the water, Tessa laughed to herself as she watched Rachel and Kurt squealing excitedly as they went over the routine in preparation.

Making his way over, Sam sat down next to her, giving her a smile, "I'm sure you've heard the rumours." Clearing his throat, he heightened the pitch of his voice to poke fun at the people talking about Tessa, "he only dated her as a bet, I bet she feels so stupid." Rolling his eyes, Sam put an arm around her shoulder to pull her closer to him, "It's him that should feel stupid."

Waving it off, Tessa looked up at him with a carefree smile, "let them talk. We both know it's a bunch of crap anyways. And I couldn't care less."

Grinning back down at her, Sam held his breathe slightly as he had the sudden urge to just lean down and kiss her. Blinking slowly, he tried to shrug this off, wanting to give Tessa the space she needed to think things through herself, "that's my girl." He settled with whispering.

Pulling her gaze away from him, Tessa scrunched up her nose as she kicked her legs in the water, changing the subject, "I don't know why we have to wear all this makeup. Isn't it just gonna wash off?"

"Let's see, shall we?" Sam said with a wicked grin, reaching into the water and splashing her right in the face.

Watching him chuckle nervously at her, Tessa shook her head and decided to give him what was coming to him, splashing him back, starting a mini water fight between the two of them on the edge of the pool.

Feeling the eyes of everyone on them, Tessa held her hands up in surrender, "so, how do I look?" She teased, unable to stop herself from giggling.

Reaching forward and gently wiping a bit of smudged lipstick from the bottom of her lip with his thumb, Sam licked his lips as a smile crept onto his mouth, "you look beautiful." Given a jolt of confidence as she rolled her eyes playfully in an attempt to distract him from her red cheeks, Sam got up from where he was sitting and moved to the side, "I got something."

Showing off his brand new letterman jacket, proudly, he pulled it on and gave her a dramatic turn, "am I totally hot now?"

"Totally." Tessa laughed, gently, looking to the floor as she bit her lip. Slipping it off his shoulders, Sam draped it over hers and sat back down next to her. Smiling at him, Tessa pulled it further around her, letting out a contented sigh.

With the hushed whispers going around that Mr Schue and Miss Pillsbury were on their way to the pool, Tessa carefully placed the letterman jacket to the side and rushed over to the side to stand with Tina, though only half paying attention to her excited conversation as she and Sam managed to sneak glances at each other across the pool the entire time.
