SO JUST GET ON WITH IT!
QUINN HAD STEPPED FORWARD TO AGREE WITH RACHEL'S IDEA TO PERFORM ORIGINAL SONGS AT REGIONALS. So now, Mr Schuester took on this idea and with the two girls off writing a song of their own, the rest of the choir room were left to come up with their own anthem to sing.
Tessa and Mike were using all the time they had before Mr Schue could arrive to make a paper aeroplane out of a page from their notebooks. Very unsuccessfully, they finished, enthusiastically high fiving each other before sending it into the air where it almost immediately crashed back down to the floor.
Looking at each other unimpressed, they left the crumpled aeroplane be and sat back into their seats to try again. When Mr Schue arrived, Mike picked up the paper aeroplane they'd made and threw it straight towards him, pointing the blame directly at Tessa as it flew into him.
Ignoring it with a stern glare Tessa's way as she held her hands up in defeat, Mr Schue clapped his hands together, eager to begin the songwriting for regionals and came around the room handing out some rhyming dictionaries for them.
Interrupting his introduction by raising her hand, Santana had a sly smile on her face as she flashed a look over to Sam, where he'd made himself comfortable in the chair besides Tessa and Mike, "Mr Schue? Tina and I have already been working on a song that I wrote."
"Really? That's amazing!" Mr Schue cheered, delighted that she was already so eager to write for regionals, "can we hear it."
Nodding, Santana made her way up to the front, placing her hands on her hips, "this is a song that I wrote for Sam, which I will gladly sing again to serenade you and my girl Tess, when you start kissing each other again."
Glancing over to Sam, Tessa gave him an apologetic look as she began to flush red herself, slapping Mike's shoulder with her rhyming dictionary as he giggled under his breathe.
"It's called Trouty Mouth."
"Wait, what's it called?" Sam whispered, nervously.
Leaning over Tessa, Mike reassured him in repeating what Santana'd said, "Trouty Mouth."
As the song progressed, insulting Sam's mouth constantly, Tessa noticed him becoming more and more self-conscious, trying to hide his lips away from anyone's view and rubbed his arm comfortingly. Though this seemed only to spur Santana on as her smirk grew bigger at the sight.
As the song seemed to come to an end, Sam had had enough, standing up from his chair to defend himself, "okay, can we stop? Stop with the mouth jokes!"
"Sit down! I'm not finished!" Santana insisted, crossing her arms over her chest with a large frown.
"Yes you are!" Sam argued back, turning to Mr Schue for help, "Mr Schue, we are not doing a song at regionals called Trouty Mouth."
"You know what? I have to agree with Sam on this one, but such a great first effort." Mr Schue smiled over at Santana, who huffed loudly in annoyance.
Ready to comeback at Sam, Santana already had her eyebrow raised, "well maybe if you put those guppy lips to good use then I wouldn't have had to write that song."
"That's enough, Tana." Tessa whispered, giving her best friend a pleading look for her to leave Sam alone, becoming both embarrassed about everyone's looks towards them and for Sam's sake as he continued to try and cover his mouth.
Giving it with a frustrated sigh, Santana rolled her eyes, making a last kissy face towards Tessa before throwing herself down on the closest chair to her.
Turning back to Sam, Tessa gave him a soft smile, "I think your mouth is great."
Watching as Sam gave her a smile of appreciation, Mike tried to hold in his laughter as he leaned his head onto her shoulder to get in on the conversation, "Sam thinks your mouth is great too, Tess. Or else he probably wouldn't've kissed it."
"Do you wanna fight, Mike Chang?" Tessa challenged, spinning round on her seat with her rhyming dictionary as a weapon.
Wiggling his eyebrows back at her, Mike held his up in retaliation, laughing as they both began to slap each other with their dictionaries until Mr Schue came behind them, snatching them out of their arms, "these are for writing, not fighting." He announced, before cracking into a smile and handing their books back, "see what I did there?"
Looking back at each other, Mike and Tessa raised their eyebrows towards each other, waiting until Mr Schue wasn't watching before bounding into slapping each other once again.

"SO, TROUTY MOUTH, CAN YOU TELL ME WHY WE'RE BACK HERE, AGAIN?" Santana pressed, sitting forward on her arms, giving Sam a dangerous look.
After singing Trouty Mouth, Santana had called Sam into the library, sitting where they'd sat the first time Santana had wanted a real conversation with him. She'd decided it had been long enough since she'd urged Sam to admit his feelings for Tessa the first time and Auntie Snixx was back, ready to force him to get a move on.
Shrugging his shoulders, Sam gave her a scared look, "not really. You kinda just dragged me in here."
"Somewhere in that rather small brain of yours you must remember the last conversation we had in here." Santana said, leaning forward and continuing before Sam had the chance to answer, "here's my question, why aren't you using those guppy lips to make out with Tess, right now rather than being sat here, talking to me?"
"You didn't give me much of a choice —" Sam started, a bit unsure as to how he was supposed to answer her question, rubbing the back of his neck out of embarrassment.
Stepping in immediately, Santana tutted loudly, full of irritation, "you think I wanna be sat here talking to you?" She sighed, "you obviously like each other a lot, why don't you just go for it?"
"I just haven't found the right time." He admitted, biting the inside of his cheek. Letting his insecurities get the better of him, Sam finally looked up to meet Santana's eyes, "are you sure she likes me?"
Scrunching her face up in confusion, Santana threw her hands up into the air, nodding frantically, "god, are your lips so big that they're stopping you from seeing? Even Tess's loser friends like Berry can tell that she likes you. So just get on with it."
"We haven't even spoken about our kiss, well, sober."
"Well talk to her about it." Santana urged him, genuinely, patting him on the shoulder before standing up from her chair and moving away, "seriously Trouty, just ask her to prom or something. I wants my Christmas wish to come true."
And with that, Santana gave him a last stern look before turning on her heels and leaving Sam alone in the library, chewing on his lip as he thought about what he wanted to do.

MERCEDES HAD PERFORMED THE BEST ORIGINAL SONG OF THE WEEK BUT IT STILL WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR MR SCHUE. Shaking her head as Mercedes came to stand besides her as she leant against the piano, Tessa was quick to back her up, "we should totally perform that at regionals. If we lose we blame Schuester for not letting the world hear Hell To The No."
"Preach girl." Mercedes agreed, holding her hand out for a discreet high five as Mr Schue began to try and get the best possible songs out of them, despite only having a couple of days to work on them.
Trying to encourage the group as they stood around shrugging, Mr Schue took his pen and made his way to the whiteboard, "just think about it, what's your favourite song of all times?"
"My headband." Brittany answered immediately.
"Alanis Morissette's 'You Oughta Know.'" Santana put forward.
"What's going on, Marvin Gaye." Puck spoke up, getting a nod of approval from Lauren.
"Billy Joel, 'She's Always a Woman.'" Tessa smiled, fondly.
"Well what are all those songs about?"
"Headbands." Brittany answered confidently, but Tessa looked more confused, furrowing her eyebrows as she looked up, locking eyes with Finn, "women?" She whispered, getting a shrug and a thumbs up in response.
Shaking his head as he noticed them not fully getting his point, Mr Schue continued on, "all those songs come from a place of pain, the greatest songs are about hurt and that's the side of yourselves I want you to get in touch with."
"That should be easy." Artie piped up, with a shrug of his shoulders, "Coach Sylvester tortures us for no reason and tries to get the whole school to hate us."
Nodding, Santana spoke up from where she was leant against the piano, "yesterday, she filled mine and Britt's lockers with dirt." She told them, shuddering at the memory.
"She literally throws sticks at me." Mercedes said, recalling the time Coach Sylvester had stood throwing sticks at her hair whilst she was at her locker.
Further trying to prove the point as Mr Schue frantically wrote the ideas on the board, Tina probably had it worst, "she called the Ohio Secretary of State saying she was me and that I wanted to change my name to Tina Cohen-Loser."
The room was left in silence for a moment as they tried to process what Tina had told them. Gaping at her for a moment, Mr Schue was completely scandalized until he remembered it was Sue they were talking about and shook it off, "and how does that make you feel?"
"Well at first it hurts, but then it just makes you wanna win." Finn answered on behalf of the group.
Clicking his fingers together, Mr Schue was met with a sudden bit of inspiration, turning to the whiteboard, "guys, I think you've found yourself a song." He cheered, scribbling 'Loser Like Me' onto the board.

FOR TESSA, REGIONALS WAS JUST ANOTHER EXCUSE TO SEE BLAINE AND KURT. Meeting them in the green room area, she rushed forward, pulling an obviously terrified Kurt into a warm hug.
Holding him at arms length, she gave his shoulders a shake of encouragement, "stop worrying! You're gonna sound incredible!" Tessa beamed, "I'm gonna be your number one fan out there."
"After me of course." Blaine chipped in quickly, wrapping his arms around both Kurt and Tessa, "and how's my favorite New Direction? No last minute duet in this competition?"
"Nope." Tessa shook her head, "I hope not anyway. I wouldn't be able to sing Rachel's solo like she can, I'd have to sing Trouty Mouth instead."
Laughing to himself, Blaine gave her a pat on the back, "bet Sam would love that. He'd like you even more."
Quick to get in on the gossip, Kurt pushed himself right into the middle of the conversation, "speaking of Sam, are you guys together yet? I'm tired of waiting."
Dramatically rubbing her hands across her face, Tessa rolled her eyes, "you two as well? We've both had this from practically everyone since the party."
"It's not our faults that we see the perfect couple who desperately need to be a couple." Blaine teased her, earning himself a light shove on the shoulder, which quickly turned into a playful shoving match.
Noticing Sam coming over, Kurt was quick to slap both of them on the arms as they giggled, whispering harshly for them to shut up. Their suspicions weren't helped when Sam reached them, absentmindedly draping his arm across Tessa's shoulder, "we've gotta go in a minute, Tess. Mr Schue wants a pep talk."
"Of course." Tessa rolled her eyes through a sarcastic laugh, having a battle of facial expressions with Blaine and Kurt, who were wiggling their eyebrows at her, whilst Sam remained completely oblivious.
Holding back for a moment as Sam began to walk off, Tessa gave both Blaine and Kurt a stern glare, "stop that!" She said through gritted teeth as they made kissy faces at her. Beginning to skip off after Sam, she purposefully ignored them, flashing them a wave, "remember, you're awesome, Kurt! Ill be cheering the loudest for you!"
"And we'll be cheering the loudest for you!" Kurt called back as he and Blaine exchanged another glance, linking hands as they watched Tessa and Sam walk off together, both of them preparing for their regionals performance.
