TESSA SWANN I SWEAR TO HOLY, SWEET HELL!
APPARENTLY DISCO SUCKS. After Mike, Tessa and Blaine had performed an energetic dance number to 'You Should Be Dancing', the glee club had expressed their disliking for disco, much to Tessa's disappointment, though she wouldn't admit it. Having her own input for the week, Sue Sylvester had taken the opposite approach, encouraging Mr Schue to embrace the disco.
Arriving at the next rehearsal, the glee club were in for a surprise. Looking to each other, there was a twinkle in Blaine and Tessa's eyes as they saw what was clearly a disco dance floor in the middle of the choir room.
Growing even more confused, Brittany was first to speak up, "did someone steal our floor?"
"Dont worry, we'll have it back by the end of the week." Mr Schue assured her through a laugh, "in the mean time, Sue has lent us her own โ"
"โ my very own personal, one-of-a-kind, lit-from-within, shatterproof, plexiglass dance floor." Sue finished off for him with an over confident grin, "modelled, of course, on the dance floor immortalised by a young, musky, John Travolta at the height of his potency in the legendary dansical, Saturday Night Fever."
Holding her hand up, Rachel had a skeptical frown on her face, "Coach Sylvester, while we applaud your use of proper terminology, we told Mr Schue that we don't support disco in this room."
Glancing round the choir room, the agreement was clearly with Rachel, nods and collective groans as they walked through the door saying all they needed to know. Even Puck's shirt said disco sucks on the front, which was emphasised as he poked a finger to his chest to show around the room.
Scoffing quietly, Blaine and Tessa exchanged guilty smiles, shrugging their shoulders in a light agreement not to say each other's secret love of disco to any of the disco hating members of the group. Both of them were secretly desperate for a dance session on that dance floor.
"Ah but some of you do." Mr Schue said, clocking on to Blaine and Tessa's bottled up excitement, "so for this weeks assignment, we are going back in time to the songs of Saturday Night Fever."
In an attempt to talk him out of it, Finn rolled his eyes slightly, "come on, Mr Schue, that's like a record our parents listen to."
"That album, teen Solomon Grundy is one of the best selling albums of all time." Coach Sue shot back at him. Frowning at her response, Finn turned to Blaine and Tessa for back up, having to do a double take as he saw them passionately nodding along to the idea.
"Tony Manero's story is your story." Mr Schue explained, "he's a guy who works at a paint store, trying to figure out his life, and the only time he feels sure about himself is when he's performing on the dance floor. He has a dream to get out of his old neighbourhood in Brooklyn and get to New York City, and by the end of the movie, that's what he's done. He turned his dream into a plan."
Hearing Mr Schue basically tell them the whole plot of the movie, Tessa folded her arms over her chest, "spoiler alert much." She mumbled, despite having seen the movie herself many times before.
"So why the dance floor?" Kurt questioned.
"Well, because Porcelain, first, we are gonna start with a dance-off, and the winner will receive a replica of John Travolta's iconic white polyester suit, which I am having a cadre of expert Vietnamese tailors painstakingly reproduce." Coach Sue explained, holding up a figurine with a tiny white suit on.
As the excited murmurs when round, Kurt gasped out loud, "oh my god I need that suit!"
Joining in with a nod, Mike widened his eyes and whispered, "I bet that's worth a lot of money."
"I'd totally put that suit on... eBay." Puck laughed, thinking he was funny, giving Mike a punch in the arm to agree with him.
"So you just want us to start dancing like soul train style?" Mercedes asked, in the process of working out how to win.
"Uh no, actually." Mr Schue told her as he and Sue stepped onto the new dance floor, "Sue and I will start us off. We actually met with Joe and Blaine beforehand to work on something, just join in when you're ready. And everyone has to participate, even you, Puck. All right, hit it."
As the music for 'Night Fever' began to play, the floor lit up in may different colours alongside it. Watching this, Tessa's eyes grew wide with delight and she was unable to hold back her gasp, "oh my god the lights." She whispered, mesmerised.
Chuckling fondly at her genuine excitement, Sam wrapped his arms around her from behind, "you're so adorable."
Laughing him off, Tessa shook her head and leant back into him as she felt her cheeks heat up slightly, hoping that only Sam had caught onto her love for disco.
With Mr Schue, Coach Sue, Joe and Blaine's part coming to an end, it was time for the rest of the glee club to join in. With Santana going first, the bar was set high and it wasn't until Mike had finished his own solo dance break that Tessa danced onto the dance floor and danced her absolute best, laughing and having fun.
Following right after her, Sam decided to show off some of his signature white chocolate moves. Cheering loudly from the sides, Tessa let out an affectionate giggle, "thats my man!" She shouted out, proudly, giving Mike a whack on the arm as he teased her.
With everyone having a chance to shine on what Tessa thought was the coolest floor to ever exist, it was time for Mr Schue to reveal who was in the running for the white suit, "okay, officially, officially, you guys are amazing! I was just conferring with my co-judge and our three finalists for the suit are... Santana Lopez... Mercedes Jones... and Finn Hudson."
Looking extremely pleased with himself, Finn held his hand out and got an enthusiastic high five from Tessa after she thumped him on the back proudly. She couldn't deny she was a little disappointed that she couldn't win the suit for herself but watching Finn's surprised smile light up the room made losing completely worth it.

SANTANA HAD INVITED TESSA TO SING WITH HER. After she'd told her something, a plan was quickly formed between the two of them and it was time to put it into action.
Coming in the choir room in matching disco costumes with their pinkies linked together, Santana flashed her a confident wink before rushing over to join Brittany. Bouncing over to where Sam and Blaine were sitting, Tessa did a small spin to show off her outfit.
"You look totally cool." Sam complimented her, fanning himself dramatically, "so pretty. I like the headband." He grinned, reaching forward to flick it playfully with his finger.
"Why thank you." Tessa curtseyed in an equally dramatic tone, "you two better be ready to be blown away, I think you're really gonna love what Santana and I have planned."
Her ears pricking up at the sound of her name, Santana inserted herself into the conversation, wiggling her eyebrows knowingly at Tessa, "who wouldn't? It's us."
Late as usual, Mr Schue made his way into the choir room, clapping his hands together for everyone's attention to begin today's lesson. Catching sight of Santana and Tessa's disco themed costumes, he grinned at their contribution to the assignment, "okay guys, I'm guessing by the costumes that Santana and Tessa have the floor."
As Mr Schue moved aside, Santana grabbed over for Tessa's hand, pulling her onto the light up dance floor ready to sing. Taking charge, Santana threw Tessa her microphone clearly with no doubts that she'd catch it, trying to give her directions through her facial expressions. With a slight nod of reply, they were ready to go and spinning round in unison to point to the band for the music, the floor had lit up and the extra lights in the choir room were flashing in their direction.
Starting them off, Santana sang the first verse of 'If I Can't Have You' beautifully and Tessa couldn't help but watch her with the same dazzled expression as she had when she'd first watched her on the Cheerios when she was one of the biggest losers in her freshman year before they'd even become friends, let alone best friends.
Breaking out of her trance as the music came up to her bit, Tessa let herself have a good time, enjoying performing on Sue's cool dance floor with her best friend. When her solo part came along, she looked over and locked eyes with Sam, smiling right at him lovingly as he danced along in support, sending her a thumbs up.
As they finished, Tessa wrapped her arms around Santana, resting her head against her shoulder as the choir room cheered for them, Brittany, Blaine and Sam even going to the extend of standing up from their chairs to whoop loudly.
Thinking he'd gotten the idea of their performance down, Mr Schue had spoken up in praise, "incredible. And I could see exactly where you're going with it, Santana. This was more than just a beautiful love song to Brittany โ"
"And Sam." Tessa whispered which Mr Schue of course ignored.
"โit was also a powerful way of conveying your dream that marriage equality will someday be a reality for everyone and you're off to law school to make it happen! Amazing! I'm not exactly sure why Tessa was there though."
After exchanging a subtle offended look with Tessa that told each other exactly what they needed to know, Santana was quick to put his assumptions right, "of course I want marriage equality, and yeah, Brittany will always be my girlfriend."
"Score." Brittany quietly celebrated.
"But my mistress is fame." Santana told him, "and that song was about how I can't live without my fame."
His impressed expression falling, Mr Schue crossed his arms over his chest, "then I have to say I'm disappointed in you. Fame isn't something to aspire to."
Tessa scoffed audibly in Santana's defence and was pleased when she stood up for herself in the same way as she always did, "how about you save the lecture for the theatre nerds that are gonna starve in New York while desperately trying to tap dance their way into the chorus of Godspell? No offense gay Berry. And everyone can stop their hating because you all want to be famous too. But the only difference is that I'm a thousand percent sure that I am going to be famous. Just like I'm a thousand percent sure that our man-child piano player is keeping a petite Eurasian locked in a trunk underneath his bed, sorry Brad. Now write this down, because there will be a quiz, I'm gonna be famous if it's the last thing I do. And the reason Tess is here, Mr Schue, is because first, she's my best friend and I wants to sing with her and second, because she has something to say."
Giving her a small nudge forwards, Santana smiled at Tessa with reassurance with a nod for her to go on. Seeing everyone staring at her with anticipation, Tessa was surprised with how quickly she got nervous.
Swallowing a lump in her throat, she stammered over her words slightly as she tried to get what she wanted to say out, "yeah, uh, I just uh wanted to say that..." her confidence disappearing as her nerves got the better of her, Tessa found Sam's eyes in hers, trying to work out what she was so nervous about, "I love... disco. Yeah, I love disco."
Internally cursing herself, Tessa tried to ignore the steely death stare Santana was giving her and flashing a last glance over to Sam, she rushed off the stage and into the chairs besides Brittany.
Not even noticing for a second that Tessa could've said something else, Mr Schue was just grateful to have someone say they loved disco, "excellent. Great job Tessa!"
"Tessa Swann I swear to holy, sweet hell." Santana hissed through gritted teeth, "you love disco? Girl that wasn't the plan."
"I do love disco though." Tessa mumbled, sheepishly. Biting the inside of her lip, she wished she'd had the guts to say what she'd wanted to say to Sam but with everyone staring at her so intently she'd gotten scared, which she'd have to explain to Santana later.
Catching Sam's eye, Tessa was pleased to see that he was still smiling right over at her, clearly a little confused. Smiling back at him, she let out a sigh. Yeah, she definitely loved him.
