THE ZOMBIE DOUBLE RAINBOW!

WALKING TO GLEE CLUB WITH ARTIE WAS COOL UNTIL THEY WERE CORNERED BY FOOTBALL PLAYERS. Noticing they all had slushies in their hands was very unnerving and Tessa and Artie we're hoping that his place on the football team would act as some sort of shield.

"So I was going through my bucket list and I noticed you were the only glee loser I haven't slushied yet." Azimio started, looking directly at Artie with a wicked grin.

"Damn near broke his heart." Karofsky added on, threateningly.

Out of quick thinking, Artie had begun to spoke up before Tessa could try to run them all over with his wheelchair, "what about the moral implications of abusing a kid in a wheelchair?"

"I say equal opportunity for all." Azimio laughed, unapologetically.

Karofsky was next to stand forward to take charge, eyeing Tessa full of revenge, "and we have Princess Tough Guy over here too. You'll finally get what's been coming to you for slushying me that time."

"You deserved it." She spat back, causing Artie to roll back slightly to stop her from saying anything that could make their fate worse.

Standing forward, Karofsky gave a nod to the group of football players behind him, dumping the first slushy onto Tessa's head so it dripped down onto Artie's shoulders, laughing as she flinched under the cold ice, "not so tough now, are we?"

Moving back into the rest of the group, with a nod to Azimio, the whole team threw their slushies onto Artie and Tessa. The slushies just kept on hitting them, soaking them in red dye number seven and ice, it was worse than either of them had ever been slushied before with the slushying not seeming to stop.

Once the team were finally out of slushy, they turned around victoriously, giving each other high fives and laughing as they looked back at Artie and Tessa, dripping head to toe in red slushy.

Breathing heavily, Tessa wiped as much of the cold ice from her face as she could before looking down to Artie, "you okay?" She asked.

"Not really." He chuckled, breathlessly, "you okay?"

"Not really either." She breathed out, with a shake of her head, "I'm freezing."

"Let's get to the choir room before anyone sees us and we're humiliated further." Artie suggested, to which Tessa nodded and began to push his wheelchair towards the safety of the choir room.

Walking into the choir room, they were immediately greeted with gasps of shock and sympathy at the amount of slushy that'd covered their two friends entering the room.

"Oh my god Artie!" Brittany exclaimed, rushing forward from the group to help her boyfriend.

"It was awful." Artie shuddered, as Brittany wrapped a towel around his shoulders.

"Tess!" Sam shouted, full of worry, immediately standing up and wrapping his letterman jacket around her shoulders, "you're freezing." He gasped, trying to warm her hands in his until Santana ran over to take over and Finn began to rally up the football guys in glee club for a retaliation.

"Screw rehearsal, this ends now!" Finn yelled out, storming towards the door.

"We're gonna go all thunderdome on those guys!" Puck shouted, angrily.

Just as they got to the door, they were greeted by the very people they'd been on their way to beat up. Scowling as the football players looked around smugly, the members of glee club gave each other looks of anger, "so this is what the ladies lounge looks like from the inside." One of the football players mocked.

"This is the choir room. Now put your fists up because you and I are gonna do some dancing." Sam demanded, taking a step forward.

"No, I got this Sam." Finn said, pushing Sam behind him only for his hand to be pushed away with a glare.

"Coach Beiste told us to come, where is she?" Karofsky asked, reluctantly.

Coming in behind them, Coach Beiste and Mr Schue managed to get everyone sat down in a seat, with all the New Directions huddled up on one side and the football team huddled up on the other, glaring at one another.

Clapping his hands together, Mr Schue let out a breathe of air before introducing the assignment he knew nobody would be happy with, "alright New Directions, give a warm welcome to our newest members of glee club."

Almost instantly, the room echoed with shouts of protest from both sides. The glee club, who were highly opposed to having bullies who had threatened Kurt in the same room as them, and the football team, who were terrified of being losers.

"How can I give them a warm welcome if I'm freezing? They just slushied me and Artie!" Tessa shouted out, pouting with frustration and refusing to retort back as he heard the football team taunt her.

"Are you serious? Those are the guys who made Kurt transfer!" Finn protested loudly.

"And I'm sharing the choir room with a known homophobe." Rachel called out, and for once, the whole glee club agreed with her, nodding along passionately to show their distaste.

"I don't disagree with you guys." Mr Schue reasoned with them, "but Coach Beiste and I talked and we both agreed that the kind of bullying that David does is born out of ignorance. Having him here, as difficult as it may be for us, is an opportunity to show the rest of the guys that being in glee club is kinda cool, find some common ground."

"All of you guys will be in the glee club for one week, no exceptions." Coach Beiste explained to her football team.

Scoffing, Karofsky rolled his eyes towards his team, "she's bluffing! Next week is the championship game. Without us, she has no team."

"With you I have no team!" Coach Beiste yelled, "You guys have gotta find a way to come together or we're going to get our asses kicked from here until Tuesday finds a saddlebag full of buckwheat."

After a short while of confused silence, Azimio spoke up, "if I have to stay I'm not singing no show tunes. That is the music of my oppressors."

"Do you even have any idea what we do in here?" Finn spoke up, irritated.

"No, they don't. That's why we have to show them. Puck, Rachel, haven't you been working on something?"

With a sharp nod of her head, Rachel began to stand up, throwing a glare across the classroom towards the football players and gesturing for Puck to follow her lead, "fine. Offended as I am by their presence, I won't let anyone get in the way of a performance."

[SONG โ€” NEED YOU NOW, SUNG BY PUCK AND RACHEL]

With the glee club cheering in support, one of the football players took this as a perfect opportunity to put the tension back into the room, "the girl with the Mohawk had a nice voice." He called out, smugly.

Knowing Mr Schue was waiting to stop his reaction, Puck let a sarcastic smile come up his face before whipping the guitar from round his shoulders and readily swinging it towards the football players, causing the rest of the room to break out into a fight.

After taking the time to roughly shove at least three of the football players off of her and her friends, Tessa was shouting at the top of her voice in defence. Coming up behind her, Mike wrapped his arms around her waist, full of amusement as he pulled her away and she kicked her legs, still managing to kick one of the football players before they were too far away.

ZOMBIE CAMP HAD BEEN SURPRISINGLY FUN. Trailing out of the auditorium and onto makeup, Tessa was full of laughs as she chased Mike in circles around Tina, both of them making inaudible zombie noises as they laughed.

Setting herself down at one of the mirrors, she frowned and took a deep breathe as she looked down at all the makeup she'd have to learn how to do.

Looking at Tessa through the mirrors, Quinn offered her a smile as she watched her struggle with the makeup at first, "you want a hand?"

Smiling back at her, Tessa let out a sigh of relief and pulled a chair closer for Quinn to sit on, "I'd love that." She breathed out, "I'm not exactly great at makeup."

After a while of slightly awkward silence, Quinn spoke up, "there's nothing going on between you and Sam, is there?" She asked, suspiciously.

Eyes widening at the question, Tessa spluttered on the air and immediately shook her head, "me and Sam?" She exclaimed, through a nervous laugh under Quinn's piercing glare, "no, why would you think that?"

"He just seems to like you. He was desperate to make sure you were okay after you got slushied and he spent practically all of zombie camp with you, Mike and Tina." Quinn justified herself, sitting up a bit straighter in her chair and flicking her ponytail a little bit.

"Sam's one of my best friends, I should hope he likes me." Tessa said, stifling her laugh at her attempted joke with an embarrassed clearing of her throat as she saw that Quinn definitely was not laughing. Trying again, she let out a small sigh, "look, I don't like Sam. And even if I did, I wouldn't act on it. He's your boyfriend, I wouldn't try to steal him away from you."

"I'm glad." Quinn gave her a forced smile.

Giving her a weak smile back, Tessa sank in her seat slightly, feeling a little bit embarrassed and a bit nervous to have been confronted by Quinn Fabray.

AFTER A ROUND OF SLUSHIES, THE FOOTBALL PLAYERS HAD QUIT. With no one else wanting to play in the match, there wasn't enough players to play the game. Completely filled with lost hope, Coach Beiste sat at the front of the choir room, facing the glee club and the remaining football players in it.

"Why can't we just let them back on the team, just for this one game?" Sam suggested, desperate to play in the match.

Shaking her head, Coach Beiste sadly shut him down, "no, we carry this thing through. Even if it means we have to forfeit the game."

"I can't believe this is it." Finn sighed deeply, slumping back into his chair. Looking round at all their disappointed looks that covered the guys's faces, Rachel glanced at Mercedes then the rest of the girls with a swift nod, "maybe it isn't." She spoke up, marching to the front of the room where she planted her hands onto her hips and signaled for the rest of the girls to join her, "we want to join the football team."

Loud groans echoed through the room as the guys put their heads in their hands, completely out of hope. Frowning slightly at their lack of faith, Mercedes nodded her head, "we want to play in the championship game."

"Come on guys, stop screwing around, it's not cool." Mike scolded them, frustrated.

"What's not cool is you guys not respecting women enough to realize that we are perfectly capable of playing football." Lauren said, passing glares around the room, "and don't forget who the state champ in Greco-Roman wrestling is. I have offers from three different professional wrestling scholarships once I graduate." She boasted, getting herself an enthusiastic high five from Rachel.

Skeptical, Mr Schue was quick to try and get them to back out, "have you guys ever seen a tackle in a football game? When they tackle you, it hurts."

"I could take on anyone in this room and you know it." Tessa mumbled, loudly, smirking to herself over-confidently and exchanging a high five with Lauren.

Quickly talking over Tessa so they'd still have a chance to play, Rachel nodded over to the girl before smiling, "we have thought about that, Mr Schue, but the truth is, you don't really need us to play, you just need enough players to field a regulation team. So when they snap the ball, we're just gonna lie down on the ground."

"I'm not." Lauren disagreed, grinning over to Tessa, "I'm gonna bring the pain."

"I guess you won't get hurt if you stay down." Coach Beiste thought aloud, starting to believe it could be possible for the team to at least play in the championship game. With the nod from Coach Beiste, Mr Schue was still anxious, "what do you parents have to say about this?"

Pulling a bunch of slips from her bag, Tina handed them over to Mr Schue, with a beaming grin, "our parents signed permission slips. It took some convincing but they understood what it meant to us."

"My grandad's ecstatic." Tessa told them, excitedly, "he's always wanted me to try playing football."

Flipping through the permissions slips, Mr Schue looked up with approval, turning to Coach Beiste, "what do you think Coach?"

"I think..." she started, grinning round at the girl's excited expressions, "welcome to the football team!"

Excited cheers echoed around the room as the boys jumped up from their seats to embrace their new team mates in hugs. Leaping from his, Mike had a devious smile on his face as he jumped on Tessa in a light tackle. Laughing loudly, she fought back, messing around with Mike until she was pulled out of his arms and into Sam's, where she exchanged high fives over his shoulder and giggled into his ear.

THE BIG GAME WAS FINALLY HERE AND TESSA WAS BUZZING. With her helmet under one arm, she jumped up and down, waving and blowing kisses up to Blaine and Kurt in the stands, where they looked incredibly nervous for her well-
being.

Watching her from a bit further away, Sam tried to push away the butterflies in his stomach as she smiled. Before he could go over to talk to her though, Finn was already there, wrapping his arm around her shoulder and guiding her to her position next to Tina.

Feeling a tap on her helmet, Tessa looked up to see Sam standing behind her, "remember, be careful." He whispered, with a raised eyebrow, "don't you die on me."

"Of course." She smiled, waving him off casually, "If I die โ€” I die. Just water my plants for me."

"Okay." Sam chuckled, giving her an affectionate smile and another pat on the helmet, "good luck out there."

Giving Tina an enthusiastic thumbs up, Tessa saw her nerves and reached out to squeeze her hand quickly before they were swiftly pushed to the ground at the sound of a whistle blow. Surprised at the speed of the game at the sound of the whistle, she glanced back upwards, frowning as she heard faint breathless mumbled from her team mates and boos from the crowd.

It wasn't going very well. Calling the group back in, Finn looked around full of concern at the panting girls and tried to ignore the fact they were losing terribly, "alright, how's everyone doing?"

"Kill me now. I'm gonna die." Mercedes groaned, breathlessly.

"I kinda wanna at least try playing." Tessa admitted.

Conflicted, Finn gave her an apologetic smile as he exchanged a look with his teammates, "just don't get ahead of yourself, okay?"

As the whistle blew and Finn was tackled to the floor, leaving the ball rolling across the field, Tessa took this as her chance to play. Pushing herself off the floor, she muttered brief words of encouragement to herself before grabbing the ball in her arms and running as quickly as she possible could.

Honestly, she wasn't quite sure when to stop but listened to the crowd willing her on and let out a nervous squeal as she felt the other team beginning to gain on her.

All of a sudden, this huge player picked up the pace and caught up with her and in what seemed like a split second, tackled Tessa to the floor โ€” hard.

Seeing her lying there motionlessly made everyone extremely nervous. Running over immediately, Sam beat everyone in dropping on his knees by her side, gently turning her over and lightly shaking her shoulders until the medical team came over.

Soon enough, the rest of the team had gathered around her, waiting anxiously for Tessa to open her eyes, looking to each other full of worry.

"Tess? You in there?" Sam spoke up gently, as the medic shone a light in her eye.

In response to the light being shone in her eyes, Tessa groaned quietly as she propped herself up on her arms and pulled her mouth guard out and flashed the group a smile, "dudes, I'm so good at football!" She croaked out, happily, before lying herself back down on the ground.

While everyone let out relieved sighs, Sam chuckled lightly and shook his head, carefully taking her hands and helping her to her feet, "I told you to be careful."

"At least i didn't break my arm." She teased him, giving his previously broken arm a poke as he rolled his eyes and laughed, glad that she was still joking around.

THE FOOTBALL TEAM HAD WON THE GAME. Full of excitement, Tessa ran round, throwing high fives wherever she went.

With the Cheerios back on the glee club as well, everyone was in high spirits underneath their zombie makeup.

Sam was left slightly disappointed as he stood back, watching as Quinn seemed to be more interested in celebrating with others rather than him. Noticing this, Tessa skipped over and pulled him into an excited hug, "we won, Mr. Second-Half-Quarterback!" She cheered.

Quickly, he felt the disappointment leave his body and become replaced by a warm feeling that he couldn't quite ignore, "yeah! We won! You were amazing by the way, you totally should've played quarterback."

"Totally!" She giggled with a shrug and flashed him a quick wink, "though I think you were better for the job."

Gazing at her for a moment, a smile crept onto Sam's face, blinking himself back to reality as he felt Tessa tug on his hand lightly, pulling him over to where the rest of the group were celebrating together.
