JUST SING ME SOMETHING!
TINA HAD HAD AN IDEA AND NOW MCKINLEY WAS HAVING A SADIE HAWKINS DANCE. With this weeks glee meeting being in the science room, she was making sure that Tessa, Blaine, Sam and anyone who was in the hall with them at the time in fact, knew everything she had planned for them.
Stunned by the decoration in the science room as if she'd never seen it before, Sugar pushed straight past Kitty to be the first inside, "I wanna sit under Venus!"
Following along, an excited smile came to Sam's lips as his eyes lit up, "I wanna sit under Uranus." As he eagerly ran over to his space of choice, Tessa, Blaine and Tina burst into a fit of loud laughter, causing him to frown, "what's so funny?"
"You are." Tessa told him, still laughing as she hopped up onto the table next to him, the biggest smile covering her face as Sam only sat up taller, looking proud of himself, yet still utterly confused as to why he was so funny, just happy to be making his girlfriend and his friends laugh.
Striding into the room, Finn was starting to get more and more confident as a teacher, grabbing the attention of the group easier by the day, "so, this week in glee club it's ladies choice inspired by the Sadie Hawkins Dance —"
"Which I thought of!" Tina cut him off instantly, shooting her hand into the air at such a speed it could've given her whiplash.
Acknowledging her by holding an appreciative hand out towards her, Finn sent Tina a small smile, "yes, thank you Tina. Every girl will sing a song to whoever they want to take to the dance."
Leaning his head onto Tessa's, Sam fluttered his eyelashes exaggeratively, "I'm looking forward to my song. I'm expecting tears... Rachel Berry worthy tears." Clearing his throat, Sam heightened the pitch of his voice to imitate Tessa, "oh Sam, you're the best boyfriend a girl could ever ask for, please go to the dance with me." Ignoring the whacks coming to his arm, Sam dramatically held a hand over his heart and went back to his normal voice, "Tessie, I'd be honored you big dork."
Scoffing playfully, Tessa raised an eyebrow and jumped off the table, walking backwards over to where Blaine was sat, "damn it Evans, you'll be lucky if you get asked after that impression. I do not sound like that."
"I think you'll find you do." Sam replied almost instinctively before his eyes widened and he scrambled off after her, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry please still ask me, please."
"Calm down I've gotta think of a song first." Tessa teased him, turning towards Blaine with a smile in the hopes he'd be a help leaving Sam less concerned that he was going to miss out on a date to the dance.

NOW TINA WAS FIRST ON THE LIST FOR THE INVITES, SAM WAS CONCERNED THAT SHE COULD ASK HIM. Full of worries, he was trying to plan his actions as he and Tessa made their ways to the boys locker rooms, where the next glee club meeting was being held, "how am I meant to let her down? I'll just have to say yes. But who will you go with?"
Amused, Tessa wasn't half as worried, "Tina's not going to ask you babe. I don't know who she's gonna ask but it's not you. Maybe Artie."
"Why wouldn't she ask me? I'm hot."
"The hottest." Tessa confirmed, "but she knows I'm asking you, so you have no need to worry. You're mine, and I'm all yours."
Struggling to hold back his smile, Sam simply showed his appreciation by squeezing her hand tighter before shrugging, "you say that but I still haven't had my song yet."
Laughing, Tessa looked up at him with a gentle smile, "I promise, you'll have your song by the end of the week. I haven't had chance to practice yet."
"I don't care. Just sing to me in the car on the way home or something." Sam suggested, completely seriously before giving her a quick wink making Tessa's heart skip a beat as he held the door open for her and they walked into the guys locker room. Licking her lips, Tessa looked to the floor for a moment, she she loved that he still had that effect over her.
Scrunching her nose up, Tessa cringed, "I always forget how awful it smells in here. I'm less used to it now my brothers have left home."
Shaking her head, she threw herself down besides Jake, leaving Sam to become fully engrossed in conversation with Artie about their guesses on Tina'a secret date as she took her place proudly at the front waiting for Finn to introduce her to the group. Clapping his hands together, Finn finally began as he was beginning to receive an impatient glare from Tina, "alright, so Tina is ready to present her solo and make her choice. Gentlemen, prepare yourselves for Tina Cohen-Chang."
Grinning, Tina took a step forward as claps of encouragement came her way, "thank you Finn. For my song, I'll be performing 'I Don't Know How To Love Him' from Jesus Christ Superstar." She stated, before moving on to an elaboration of the context of her song choice, "it's about the pain of unrequited love and —"
Conscious of time, Finn had kept glancing down at his watch. Sensing Tina's speech could take quite a while from the way she'd prepared herself to start, he decided to cut her off and intervene before she could really begin, "yeah, okay, can you wrap it up please? Coach Beiste needs the locker room at four thirty."
Looking over at the clock and realising the time for herself, Tina formed an oh shape with her mouth, whispering a sorry before spinning on her heels to give a nod to the band, "hit it."
[I DON'T KNOW HOW TO LOVE HIM — SANG BY TINA COHEN-CHANG]
Getting further and further into the song, the room started to realise that the song was in fact being sang straight to Blaine Anderson. Well, everyone except Blaine Anderson himself, who sat obliviously with an innocently supportive smile on his face as Tina looked him right in his eyes whilst singing, the realisation never seeming to kick in as it had done with the others.
Biting her lip, Tessa felt bad for Tina in this moment, not wanting to see her heartbroken again, especially after seeing how her heartbreak after Mike had affected her, whilst Jake sat besides her with his mouth dropped open, still in pure shock. Leaning in towards her, his curiosity got the better of him so he couldn't help but ask, "did you know about this?"
Shaking her head, Tessa let out a small sigh, "nope. But we should've seen it coming really."
When she finally finished the song, the clapping was slow to begin with, no one really knowing what was about to happen, simply sat waiting and hoping that their suspicions had been wrong for Tina's sake. Stepping forward, she looked Blaine right in the eye with the biggest smile on her face, "so Blaine, will you go to the dance with me?"
Taken aback, Blaine's mouth stopped open slightly as he managed to catch himself doing so, attempting to disguise it as a chuckle whilst scratching the back of his neck to turn round to try and lock eyes with Tessa for help, "oh, uh... wow, um... Tina... I don't know what to say... um... no? no, no thank you."
The smile falling from her face, Tina seemed to be instantly filled with embarrassment as she became speechless and was avoiding everyone's eyes at all costs, especially when the bell rang and the football players began to barge into the locker room, unbeknownst that they'd just walked into the most awkward and tense environment the glee club had seen in a while.
☆
LEAVING SCHOOL THAT DAY, TESSA HAD BEEN IN A HAPPIER MOOD. After jumping in Sam's car and singing him 'I Won't Say I'm in Love' from Hercules and 'All About You' by Mcfly at the top of her voice as a way of asking him to the Sadie Hawkins Dance, they'd taken a celebratory trip to the Bean. However they'd not expected their mini date to be interrupted by two Puckermans knocking on their car windows asking for help.
Now Tessa was stuck running down the halls to try her best to intervene when Noah Puckerman was leant against Kitty Wilde's locker. Just as she thought maybe he'd found his senses, Kitty was suggesting what she was most afraid of, "what are you doing Saturday night? You wanna go with me? It's depressing that you still hang around school but you're just hot enough to pull it off. I assume vintage Puckerman is just as tasty."
Catching them just in time, Tessa shook her head, taking a stand besides Kitty and folding her arms over her chest, "he's not, Kitty, I promise you." Giving context she grimaced, "I used to date him. Anyways, this is a bad idea, right Puck?"
Thinking for a moment, Puck managed to ignore Tessa's wide eyes of indication to focus on being seen as the better brother. Spinning round to meet Kitty's eyes instead, he raised an eyebrow cockily, "I'm better. But you can't handle me. You're used to dealing with amateurs, I'm professional."
Not impressed, Kitty made a challenging face, "what's the difference?"
"Amateurs have threesomes, professionals have foursomes. I've seen things, done things, that would keep you up at night." Pointing right at Tessa, he wanted to prove his point, "Tess's boobs."
"Interesting." Kitty replied in a monotone, looking blankly at Puck before turning to Tessa with a lowkey impressed nod, "if you want to keep me away from your brother, then give me a big old yarn ball of muscles to distract me."
Feeling helpless as plans started to become arranged, Tessa racked her brain for ways to put either parties off, "she's underage!"
Unfazed, Kitty shrugged her shoulders, "I have a fake ID."
"Well Puck probably has an STD." Tessa argued, pointing straight at him.
Neither Puck or Kitty seemed to really care about her statement, moving straight back to one another to build on their plans, despite Tessa's best efforts to put a stop to it. Satisfied, Puck began to walk away, "its Sadie Hawkins so I assume that means you're gonna pay for everything and if you wanna get all up on this, I expect to be fed."
"I'll pick you up at seven, we'll swing by the drive through." Kitty called after him, receiving a casual thumbs up from Puck who was strutting victoriously back out of the school.
Taking his old place to lean her back against the lockers, Tessa was still keen to attempt to talk Kitty out of what she's gotten herself into, "you really don't have to go with him you know. There are so many better dates you could have."
Skeptical, Kitty raised her eyebrow, challengingly, "oh yeah? Like who?"
"Me and Sam!" Tessa burst out, enthusiastically, holding her hands out and waving them about, "we'd love you to come to the dance with us. You'd have a great time, I promise."
"And third wheel you guys? I'm not sure." Kitty denied their offer at first, before slamming her locker door shut and leaning besides Tessa, still skeptical about her intentions, "besides, why do you care about me having a great time? You hate me."
Taking a deep breath in and letting it out as a long sigh, Tessa knew this conversation would come around eventually and just wanted to answer her as honestly as she could allow herself to, "I don't hate you, I hate what you did. It was pretty much evil Kitty and you needed to know how wrong it was. Yeah, I probably overreacted a little but you deserved what I said to you and I stand by it."
"I'd hate me." Kitty told her bluntly, her own honestly coming out, "looking back on it what I did was so wrong. I think you might've slapped a bit of sense into me actually. But I'm learning and I'm changing, I swear."
Unsure, Tessa shrugged her shoulders lightly, "that's great. But you're still going after Marley's guy. That doesn't really tell me or anyone else that for that matter. So we're not exactly gonna trust you straight away."
Kitty hated when she was wrong and after a moment of silent thought, she still set herself up to fail at defending herself, "technically he's not her guy yet."
Scrunching up her face, Tessa ran her hands through her ponytail, "she still likes him and he likes her. You'd be an awful friend to come between them and you know I'm right." Trying to create some friendly banter, she turned to face her with a playful smile, "you don't have to admit it though."
"Thank you." She replied, throwing her a smile and leaving them in the most comfortable silence between the two of them yet, "Puck probably does have an STD to think of it. And Jake and Marley will be adorable together at the dance so if the offer still stands..."
Once trailing off, Kitty became slightly nervous, swallowing a lump in her throat. Responding with a beaming smile, Tessa whipped her head round so they were grinning at each other rather than the lockers in front of them, "of course it does. This is great!"
"I'm still sorry though." Kitty said more quietly, "for slushying you, for everything that went down between us, for when I used to join in sometimes when Bree takes the piss out of you."
With a nod of appreciation, Tessa found her expression faltering at Bree's name being brought up, "you were never as bad as her, to me personally anyway."
Widening her eyes, a dirty look came across Kitty's face as she moved in closer, "she seems to hate you. What have you ever done to her? Apart from that 'steal her captaincy' bullshit." She asked, scoffing and rolling her eyes, her voice changing to a disapproving whisper, "I can't believe I used to be friends with her. She's probably the most annoying girl I've ever met."
Looking round her to make sure there was no one about, Tessa leaned in closer to Kitty to tell her the secret that no one had known apart from Sam, Blaine and Santana before, "we went to the same middle school." She explained, drawing Kitty in, "obviously she's two years younger than me but she was very popular around school, like now, and obviously I was not. And there was this guy in my year that she had the biggest crush on but he sat next to me in class and he liked me instead. So she has the idea that ever since I've been out to steal everything from her. She was basically the beginning of all of my insecurities."
Taking a moment to take it all in, Kitty widened her eyes and shook her head in disgust, "well she's a bitch, honestly, don't listen to a word she says... then or now."
"I try." Tessa whispered, biting the inside of her cheek, "but it's hard not to, you know? She knows how to get to me, she always has."
"There's something else." Kitty said abruptly after a moment of silence as Tessa bounced her leg nervously, "I know we're not really friends yet at the moment but i can read people like a freaking book. What's she done to you?"
Opening and closing her mouth, Tessa swallows hard, unsure on what to do. But she knew she couldn't keep this to herself any longer, "you know I put her on the top of the pyramid?" Kitty nodded, "she caught me slapping you and she's been telling me ever since that if I don't do what she wants, like put her on the top of the pyramid, she'll tell Coach Sue and get me kicked of the team. And then there's the constant teasing."
Scoffing loudly, Tessa was surprised to see how quickly and easily Kitty had taken her side and feeling as if she was being completely genuine with her, "so she's blackmailing you basically?" Pushing herself off the lockers, she held her hand out for Tessa to take, "We need to tell Coach Sue, I'll tell her everything, I don't care if she suspends me instead. You need to tell somebody at least, Tess."
"I've told you." Tessa shrugged, looking to the floor.
"I'm a crappy person to tell! The most I can do is accidentally-on-purpose shove Bree off the pyramid." Kitty said, pursing her lips as if she seemed to consider this a plan before offering her hand out once more, encouraging Tessa to take it, "have you not told Sam?" Seeing her shake her head guiltily, she let out a small sigh, "you should tell him these things. You told me at my sleepover that you trust him more than you trust anyone."
"I do." Tessa reassured this fact the instant it came out of her mouth in doubt, "I just don't want him to worry."
Pulling her forward by her hand, Kitty gave her a thin-lipped smile, trying to coax her down the hall, "then he'll only worry that you're not telling him something." She reasoned, before making an impressed expression as Tessa seemed to look deep in thought, "damn I'm good at this. I should be nice more often it makes me pretty and a genius." She sassed, flicking the hair in her ponytail as Tessa cracked a smile and a laugh, letting Kitty link arms with her, "but enough of being nice, we've got business to take care of with Coach Sylvester."
Wiggling her eyebrows, she was already strutting down the hall with Tessa's arm in hers, planning her attack on Bree as she went in the hopes that this would help make a start on the new and improved Kitty, who will use her incredible bitchy powers to help her friends instead of tear down other girls. And get some sweet revenge whilst they were at it.

TINA HAD MADE THE SPORTS HALL STUNNING FOR THE SNOWBALL THEMED SADIE HAWKINS DANCE. Arriving with Sam and Kitty either side of her, Tessa had a beaming grin on her face. As she looked up to face Sam, he gazed straight back at her with the same look in his eyes before leaning down and pressing a small kiss to her lips.
Kitty, on the other hand, was trying her absolute hardest to hide her smile away. Not wanting to admit that she'd had one of the best nights so far — one she wasn't even expecting to be spending with friends — Kitty settled for rolling her eyes every couple of minutes and biting her lip to conceal her smile even more, so nobody could accuse her of having too much fun.
Naturally drifting towards Blaine and Tina, they were quick to compliment her on the decoration of the hall, which she instantly took in her stride, holding her head up high out of pride.
Not wanting it to go straight to her head, Kitty searched round frantically for something to criticise, "it looks nice. The fake snow's a little tacky but it's worth it to watch Brittany running round believing it's real." She shrugged, causing Tina to glare at her and Tessa to spin round and smile adoringly at Brittany, who was in fact, chasing after the snow.
"I thought it was real too for a moment." Sam defended her casually, holding his hand out and watching intently until some snowflakes landed on his hand.
Wanting to get all of the gossip of the week, Tina reached her hand out and swatted the snow from Sam's hand before using the same hand to point between the three of them, "Moving on! So how come you three are here together?"
Before anyone could answer first, Sam stepped forward with a dramatic sigh, "I'm the third-wheel. Tess forgot to ask me." Growing scared at the sight of Tina's unimpressed raised eyebrow, Sam told the true story with a sheepish look on his face, "we invited Kitty so she wouldn't go with The Walking STD."
"He means Puck." Kitty clarified.
"Good plan." Tina approved, spinning round to nod at Tessa proudly, "you knew he would've spiked my punch. I would've cried for weeks if my Sadie Hawkins dance was ruined by Puck causing drunken messes."
Enjoying the moment of having Tina on her side, Tessa just nodded in agreement, Blaine quickly coming to her aid, wrapping an arm over her shoulder, "that was totally her plan. She's a genius, our Tessa. Right guys?"
"Totally." Sam exclaimed, throwing his arms around the both of them, eager to be in on the fun.
"Absolutely," Kitty insisted at the same time, before frowning to herself and going a slight shade of red as if she still wasn't sure about these new friendships she's managed to make out of nowhere.
A moment later, 'Accidentally in Love' by Counting Crows began to blare through the speakers, causing Sam and Tessa's eyes to widen, gasping as their heads whipped to face one another. "I love this song!" They shouted in unison, from reading one another's expressions knowing that they wanted to get the best use out of the dance floor provided.
Getting the dancing started, Tessa grabbed both of Blaine's hands, pulling him forward, "Dance with me Blaine Warbler!" She yelled with an enthusiastic grin.
Watching Kitty begin to back up, in an unexpected move, Sam held his hands out towards her with an encouraging smile as she kept insisting she didn't want to dance, "you know you want to, Kitty Wilde!"
With enough shouts of encouragement from the three already dancing and Tina, Kitty eventually gave in, moving in towards the group and beginning to let herself let loose. Despite rolling her eyes, the large grin coming to her lips gave away the fact that she was enjoying herself and being around people more than she'd done at McKinley so far. And deep down she knew she wanted things to stay that way and that would only happen if she let herself be a bit kinder to people and at this point, that was something she believed she was willing to do.
Finally furrowing her eyebrows, Tina had spotted a problem, "wait so who do I get to dance with then?"
Shaking her head out of amusement, Tessa let go of Blaine's hand, planting a large kiss on the top of his head before passing him over to Tina, who's face lit up immediately, and dancing over a tiny bit to spin both Sam and Kitty under an arm each, laughing as loudly as ever as she did so.
☆
EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BE GOING SMOOTHLY AT THE SADIE HAWKINS DANCE. With Sam desperate to solve the mystery of the Warbler's Sectionals win, he'd spent a lot of time finding all the evidence he needed to prove himself right and it was all finally starting to really come together as the dance was going on.
Taking a bit of time to pull the last little bits into place, Sam had left Tessa and Kitty to spend some time together and now he was finally emerging, sprinting into the hall at top speed and scanning the place for his girlfriend. Finding Tessa quickly, he called out to her loudly, "Tess I've done it! Come on!" He yelled proudly, searching for Blaine as he waited for her reply.
Whipping round, Tessa caught his eye immediately and grinned proudly, letting out a little cheer, shouting back, "I'll be there in a minute!" Looking back to a baffled a Kitty, she offered her a hand, "you can come too. I'll explain on the way."
Not needing any convincing, Kitty took her hand, holding her drink up to the air as she followed her out, "you don't need to ask me twice."
Pushing their way through the crowd of dancers — which included Kitty 'accidentally' pushing Bree so her drink went everywhere — the two girls followed behind Blaine and Sam as they got Finn to meet them in the guys locker room. Snatching up his evidence, Sam threw the three a big thumbs up before shoving the tablet in Finn's direction, "look at the pictures Finn, it's not just Hunter. Half the Warblers have gained ten pounds in muscle since they joined the team."
Despite Sam's enthusiasm and the amount he wanted to believe his theories, Finn let out a skeptical sigh, "I've already looked into this. This is a weight gaining regimen that they stole from Vocal Adrenaline."
Quick to come to Sam's defence, Blaine matched the skepticism in his expression, standing up straight from where he was leant against the lockers, "you can't just go from being a twig to Jean-Claude Van Damme in a few months." He thought aloud, "tell him Sam."
Taking the cue from Blaine, Sam began to real off the facts that he'd spent a long time learning and memorising himself as a way to try and convince Finn that he was right, "look, the average male gains up to two pounds of muscle per month... fact!" He called out, clapping his hands together as Blaine and Tessa joined in, "and that's without cheating. We looked it up online."
Eager to do her part, Tessa already had her phone open to their next piece of evidence, holding it out towards Finn so he could take it from her for a closer look whilst talking him through it, "plus, look at this cell phone video that Artie and Joe took down at the Lima Bean the other day."
Hearing shouting and growing curious, Kitty leant over Finn's shoulder to watch the video herself, scrunching up her face in disgust, "that's one angry guy."
"Roid rage and you know it." Sam piped up, shooting finger guns in their direction.
Coming in with the facts, Blaine stepped forward with the bit he'd had to memorize as he passed the show choir rule book to Finn with the page out ready, "chapter seven, subsection sixteen, rule four, line nine: 'any team using performance enhancing drugs including amphetamines, anabolic steroid, human-growth hormone or four loko will be disqualified from competition."
"The rule is retroactive." Tessa explained further, "so if we can prove that they used at Sectionals, they'll have to forfeit."
"Glee club is back! Blamessa!" Sam exclaimed, proudly high-fiving both Tessa and Blaine with each hand, not forgetting to include Kitty, who accepted his high five with an impressed smile.
Still unsure, Finn was unsure how to let them down, "guys, what you are asking me to do here is beyond serious. The Warblers are one of the most respected glee clubs in the country. To accuse them of this when all we have for proof is some photos of some dudes heads and a cell phone video?" Letting out a sigh, he thought that however hard they'd worked on finding evidence, this just wouldn't be enough, "look, I want glee club back just as much as you guys... but this isn't enough. We need some real proof."
Eyes locking on to one another's, the trio weren't worried, sending each other little smirks as they spoke in unison, "we have some." Snapping their fingers all at once, they gestured over to the showers where Trent walked out in a dramatic entrance.
Starting the grand explanation, Blaine stated, "I knew when Trent didn't perform with the Warblers at Sectionals that something was up."
A smile breaking out on his face, Finn studied Trents face for a moment before briefly turning back to face the four with the same smile covering his face, "yeah, he is like the sunshine of the group isn't he?"
"Blaine and I joined the Warblers together." Trent began to tell them all the story of how all the events went down from his point of view as the group listened in intently, "it was a band of brothers, a group joined by harmony and honor. Then Blaine left and Sebastian came, then Hunter... they chipped away at everything that was good and special about us. Winning was everything, you took the shots or you didn't perform. Singing with the Warblers is my life but i couldn't do it. My hormones can't handle heroic doses of testosterone. The Warblers mean everything to me and it's killing me to be betraying them like this."
Stepping forward, Blaine instantly came to his defense, "you're not betraying them. Hunter betrayed the Warblers, you're saving them."
With a thin-lipped smile of thanks towards Blaine, it was obvious that Trent was still torn and feeling guilty, "look, if I go public with this, then the Warblers reputation is ruined forever. Years of honorable melodies and harmonies all forgotten."
"Look, the Warblers reputation was ruined the second they decided to cheat to win." Sam told him, getting nods of agreement from the rest of the room, clapping his hands together, "fact."
Finally on board now with some real evidence that they could use, Finn turned to Trent with a hopeful smile, "so what do you say? Will you do this? Will you testify against the Warblers?" He asked him, causing the five of them to fall into an anticipatory silence as he considered his options before finally giving in with a small nod and an anxious smile.
Beaming excitedly, Tessa jumped for joy as high-fives of celebration went all round, glee club could be back and it could be all down to them and their eagerness to find the evidence that would make sure the winners were found fair and square. So delighted that his investigations had been worth while, Sam threw his arms around them all, shaking them excitedly as they just laughed along, giddy with the thought that they could be the saviours of glee club.
