"What the hell is that?" Steve asked, watching as Eddie walked into Max's living room with the Michael Myers mask on. "It's the only mask I have." Max had a small smirk on her face. You could hear Eddie sigh behind the mask. Dustin and Lucas let out a laugh, turning to each other. You snickered, looking away from him. "I need to get my uncle's toolbox." Eddie spoke, walking up to the others, lifting the mask. "Well, let's go. What are we waiting for?" Nancy shook her head. The rest of you huddled up, Steve opening the front door. You all cautiously looked around as you stepped outside, making a dash for Eddie's trailer. "Come on! Come on!" Steve yelled in a whisper.
Eddie ran up to his trailer, opening the door. You jumped the stairs as you followed in after him. "Make it quick." Steve demanded, slamming the trailer door shut. You let out a chuckle, looking at Eddie. "You're really unfair, you know that?" He smiled at you. "How come?" You looked at him as your shoulder brushed past his. "You know exactly how." He scoffed, walking into the kitchen. He kneeled by the cabinet under the sink, opening it. "Uh..." He stammered, his hands fumbling through all of the junk. You leaned against the sink, looking down at him, "is it because I got the last kiss?" You asked.
Eddie smirked at your question as he continued to look for the toolbox, "maybe." He answered. You hummed in response, pushing yourself off of the counter, and walked towards his bedroom. Everything was a complete mess like a tornado had run through it. Your eyes landed on his guitar that hung above his mirror. You smiled, slowly walking up to it. You chuckled under your breath, remembering how he always used to bother you, playing the guitar while you sat on his bed trying to work on an assignment. You could picture it like it was yesterday. Though, a part of you wishes you had cherished those moments a little more, especially with everything going on.
You reached your hand out, the tips of your fingers strumming the guitar, causing it to sway side to side slightly. "Already practicing?" Eddie asked as he watched you from the doorway. You jumped at the sound of his voice, quickly turning around to look at him. There was a smile on his face as he held the toolbox in his hand. "Gotta start practicing now if I wanna be better than you." You walked up to him, folding your arms across your chest. "Better than me?" He raised his brows. "Mhm." You nodded your head with a smug smirk. "Is that so?" Eddie's brows furrowed, a small grin on his face as he looked at you. "Yup."
"Well, I wish you the best of luck." Eddie cocked his head to the side. "Same to you." You squinted your eyes, snatching the toolbox from his hand, and ran towards the front door. Eddie scoffed, rolling his eyes. Opening the front door, the others all looked at you. "Got it!" You smiled, holding the toolbox up. Eddie walked up behind you, "you guys ready?" He looked at the group. They all silently nodded. "Let's do this." Eddie pulled the mask back down, running down the stairs with you. He slowly walked around the corner of his trailer, leading the way. Everyone sneakily walked behind him, keeping their distance. Eddie held his hand out, signaling everyone to stop.
He quickly peeked his head out around the corner, looking both ways to make sure no one could see you guys. Everyone just stared at him with a confused face. No one could take him seriously with that stupid mask he had on. Eddie then gestured for everyone to follow him again, sneakily running to the caravan across the field. You all quickly ran with him, hiding behind the caravan. Eddie ran to the window, quickly pulling it open. He grunted as he grabbed onto the window sill, pulling himself up. He wiggled his way through the window as fast as he could, kicking his feet before he disappeared. After a few seconds, he popped his head out the window with a cheeky smile.
You looked up at him with a small smirk, shaking your head. You tossed the toolbox to him before you jumped and grabbed onto the window sill. Robin grabbed onto your waist, helping you up as used the outside of the caravan for leverage. You let out a small grunt, falling onto the couch face first. "Ow." You mumbled into the cushion, pushing yourself up. Eddie smiled down at you as the others began climbing in. Eddie ran to the front, locking the door before sitting down in the driver's seat. He opened the toolbox, fumbling with the pliers. He sighed, placing the pliers between his teeth as he pulled out the panel under the steering wheel, grabbing a pair of wires.
"Where did you even learn how to do this?" You asked, watching as he snipped the wires with the pliers. "While other dads were teaching their kids how to fish and play ball," Eddie said through clenched teeth, "my old man was teaching me how to hot wire. Now, I swore to myself I wouldn't wind up like he did," Eddie twisted the wires as he shook his head, "but now I'm wanted for murder, and soon, grand theft auto. So, uh, I'm really living up to that Munson name." Eddie focused as he put the two ends of the wire together, trying to start the van. Steve and Robin came running up behind you.
"Hey, Eddie. No offense, but I'm not sure I love the idea of you driving." Robin furrowed her brows. "Yeah, me too. You drive like a maniac." You stared at him, worry in your voice as you remembered all the nights he drove you to his place and back home, almost hitting multiple cars each trip. "Oh, I'm starting this sucker," Eddie turned to you with a smile. "Harrington's got her. Don't ya big boy?" Eddie looked at Steve. You and Robin both turned to look at each other, a confused look on your faces. Eddie touched the wires together one last time before the engine started, the radio blasting in your ears. "Hey, open this door!" A lady screamed, banding on the door. All of you looked towards her with deadpan faces. "They locked the door!" She screamed.
Eddie and you both looked at each other before smiling, letting out a laugh. Eddie jumped up from his seat as Steve ushered him out the way. "Go!" You screamed as Eddie grabbed your hand leading you to the back of the van. "Everybody, hang on to something!" Steve shouted. "Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!" Lucas panicked, running to an empty seat. "Drive, Steve! Drive!" Dustin shouted. "Go, go, go!" Robin screamed. The van began moving as Steve stepped on the gas. Eddie caught you in his arms as you both tried to make it to the back. "Holy shit!" You screamed, feeling the adrenaline rushing through your veins.
"Shit, they looked pissed." Dustin looked out the window. "Well, they did just lose their car and house at the same time!" Erica gripped onto the seat. The van rocked back and forth as it went over the dirt. You fell onto the couch looking out the back window with pure amusement, letting out a laugh. "Hold on! Hold on!" Steve screamed as he took a sharp turn onto the road. He quickly drove out of the trailer park, getting onto the main roads. "Jesus!" Eddie said out of breath, smiling widely. Placing your hand over your heart, you exhaled, "that was kind of fun." You chuckled. "We actually stole a van!" Dustin screamed. "Yeah, no shit Dustin!" Lucas yelled back at him.

Steve slowed the van down as he pulled into the parking lot. Your eyes caught a glimpse of the building in front of you. 'War Zone' was displayed on the front of it. The parking lot was loaded, and people were everywhere. You felt uneasy at the sight, hugging yourself. Pulling on the side of the building, Steve looked back at all of you. "Y/n, Dustin, and Eddie stay in here just in case something goes wrong. Robin, Max, Lucas, Erica, Nancy, and me will head in there and grab what we need. Understood?" He looked at all of you. "Understood." Dustin responded as Steve stood from the driver's seat. "Be careful." Robin looked at you. "You too." You gave her a soft smile.
The rest of them followed after Steve, unlocking the van door. They all stepped out, Dustin waiting for the last person to leave before closing the door behind them. "This should be fun." Dustin sighed. You and Eddie looked up at him. "We just have to keep Eddie hidden. But, with all of these people here, I'm not liking our odds." You peeked out the window, scanning the area around you. "We'll be fine." Dustin assured, plopping down in an empty seat. Eddie clasped his hands together, placing them on his lap. "You doing okay?" Eddie asked, staring at your arms. Looking away from the window, you looked at Eddie, "I'm fine. You?"
"Could be better, you know?" He chuckled. You rested your head in the palm of your hand, "same. I just want this to be over with. Never thought I'd say this, but I'd rather much be working on that stupid English project than planning to fight an undead creature from another dimension." You bit the inside of your cheek. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but me too." He chuckled, playing with his rings. "What do you plan on doing after all of this shit?" You asked, adjusting in your seat. "Well, um, if my name somehow gets cleared, then I'll graduate. Finally. I'll finally have my diploma and then I get to do whatever the hell I want." He shrugged, his hands falling onto his lap.
"Eddie Munson graduating? There's gotta be something in the air." You joked. "It's my year." He responded, looking at you. You looked at him in silence. After everything he's been through these last few days, the least he deserves is to graduate. "I know that we'll graduate together. Class of '86." You nudged him. "Class of '86." Eddie smiled at you. Placing your hand over his, you squeezed it gently. Deep down inside, you had a horrible feeling that wasn't going to be the outcome. With the way things were going, you had to expect the worst. And that's what you were doing. If you fall under Vecna's curse, there's a small possibility you'll make it out alive. Eddie's hopefulness gave you courage though. You both had promises to keep. Promises to live up to.
Yet, somehow you were still scared to admit your feelings. Too scared to actually tell him that you like him. You've even kissed him, but to say the words right to him made your palms sweat. It's clear he knows, and you know too, but to hear it and to say it is much more different than that. For months, you found yourself annoyed by him, dreading working with him each time. But what you didn't know, is that Eddie never got annoyed by you. And now, one turn of events changed your whole perspective of him. Maybe you were a little grateful even though what's happening is horrible. But, at least you got to spend your last moments with him, getting to know him and letting him get to know the real you. Not the always annoyed and has her head shoved in the books you. It was like two worlds.
Eddie intertwined his hand with yours, the metal of his rings touching your skin. "My place." Eddie spoke abruptly. "Huh?" You asked. "The date. It's gonna be at my place." He responded. You smiled at him, "okay," you paused, "what time and day?" You asked, placing your bottom lip between your teeth. "I was thinking, uh, Friday after school. We pick up snacks and Halloween on the way back home, and we go from there." Eddie spoke softly. "Then, you'll play the guitar for me?" You raised a brow. "Yes," he smiled, "I'll play the guitar for you." He nodded. "And then I snatch the guitar from you and start absolutely shredding on it." You mimicked playing the guitar with your fingers. "Can you guys stop flirting right in front of me?" Dustin spoke.
You and Eddie both quickly turned your heads to look at him. "Yeah, I'm talking to you two!" Dustin pointed at both of you. Suddenly Lucas came barging into the van, panting. "The hell happened?" You stood to your feet. "Jason and his friends are here." Lucas quickly shut the door. "Jason?!" You and Eddie both said in unison. "Get down, get down!" Dustin yelled, ushering you and Eddie to the floor. "Where are the others?" Eddie asked in a panic. "They're still getting supplies." Lucas answered, sitting in a seat. "Did he see you?" You gulped. Lucas shook his head no. You and Eddie sat on the floor, letting go of each other's hands to get comfortable.
The others came barging into the van, Erica, Robin, Nancy, and Steve holding paper bags in both of their hands. "We got some company!" Erica said in a worried tone. Steve through the bags at you and Eddie. "Let's go! Let's go!" Steve hopped into the driver's seat. Robin and Max rushed past you and Eddie, running to sit in the back of the van. "Hurry!" You yell. Steve held onto the steering wheel tightly as he pressed on the gas. "What was Jason even doing in there?" You asked, looking at the group. "Pretty sure buying a gun to hunt down Eddie." Nancy looked over her shoulder, a stern look on her face. "Oh, man." Eddie sighed, dragging his hands down his face. Steve pulled out of the parking lot, turning onto the main road. Looking at Eddie, you could see the stress on his face, "it'll be okay." You assured him.

You sat on your knees in the middle of an open field. The birds in the trees chirped loudly as you hammered nails into a metal trashcan cover. You bit the inside of your cheek, holding the nail steady before hammering it in again. "Looking good." Dustin smiled at you, looking at your progress. You leaned over, looking at his makeshift shield, "not too bad yourself." You smiled back at him. Dustin grabbed the box of nails from his side, placing them in between you and him, "just in case you need some more." He offered. Eddie loudly hit the nail with his hammer causing both you and Dustin to slowly look at him. "Do you have to be so loud, dude?" Dustin asked, his face scrunched up.
"Sorry, man. You can only be so quiet with a hammer." Eddie held the hammer up. You scoffed, rolling your eyes. Grabbing one of the larger nails, you placed the point on an empty spot, holding it in between your fingers. Bringing the hammer up slightly, you hit it down on the head of the nail, watching as it punctured the thin metal. "Y/n is better than you at this." Dustin pointed at your shield while looking at Eddie. "He's right." You sighed, standing to your feet, dropping the hammer as you grabbed the shield. You held it up in the air, turning around on your heel. "Looks good." You smiled, looking at both boys.
Eddie quickly stood to his feet, grabbing his shield and pointing it at you. "How's it feeling?" Dustin asked, looking at both of you. "Light. But durable. Deadly. But reliable." Eddie played around with the shield, moving it around as he pretended to fight off enemies. Dustin chuckled, standing to his feet as well. "Hear me now," Eddie deepened his voice, pointing at Dustin. "There will be no more retreating...from Eddie the Banished." He spoke the last part in his regular voice. You giggled at his little act, "was that a D and D reference?" You asked. "Maybe." Eddie raised a brow, swinging the shield around.
"Hey, looks like we're ready for battle..." Dustin giggled, looking at both you and Eddie. You looked at Dustin with a deadpan face, holding the shield to your side. Eddie did the same, blinking at Dustin's pun. "You get it?" Dustin asked, a small smile still on his face. "Battle. B-A-T." Dustin spelled out. Eddie cocked his head to the side as he looked at Dustin in silence. "No? I thought it was a good one." Dustin shook his head in disappointment, dropping his shield. A small smile formed on your face as you dropped your shield, running up to Dustin, and wrapped your arm around him, giving him a noogie, "you little shit!" You laughed. "No! No noogies!" He screamed pushing you off of him.
Eddie soon tackled him after you, "what are you doing?!" Dustin shouted, a smile on his face. Eddie laughed, pushing back Dustin towards you. "You son of a bitch!" Dustin smiled. You grabbed Dustin again, pulling off his hat and ruffling his hair. "Not the hair!" Dustin tried to wiggle out of your grip. Laughing loudly, you pushed him back towards Eddie where Dustin attempted to tackle him. Eddie caught onto him, shuffling his feet in the grass. "No wedgies! No wedgies!" Dustin screamed. Eddie grabbed a hold of Dustin so that they were face to face, "you thinking what I'm thinking?" Eddie asked Dustin, shifting his eyes to you. Dustin giggled, trying to catch his breath, "oh, yeah."
"What are you guys doing?" You asked, backing away from them slowly as they slowly turned around, stepping towards you. "Get over here!" Dustin screamed, running after you. Letting out a playful scream you ran away from him, laughing all the way through. Eddie was chasing after you as well, coming at you from the side, both of them trying to corner you in. "No! No! Don't you dare!" You held your hands out in defense as Eddie came your way, a mischievous grin on his face. "Get her, Eddie!" Dustin cheered on. "I swear if you-Eddie!" You laughed loudly as he managed to wrap his arms around you, picking you a few inches up off the ground and spinning around. You clenched your eyes shut, holding onto his arms tightly.
"Gotcha!" Eddie grunted, placing your feet back onto the ground, though his arms were still wrapped around you. "That's what you get!" Dustin shouted at you. Flipping him off with a sweet smile, Dustin did the same to you, letting out a chuckle. Eddie turned you around to face him. You looked into his eyes, as he had a smile on his face. He was panting, trying to catch his breath. "You run really fast." He let out a breathy laugh. "Well, you got to put in work if you wanna catch me." Your eyes scanned his as you moved a piece of hair out of his face. "Fair point."
You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him in closer to you. Letting out a small laugh, your lips touched his. Eddie smiled into the kiss, his hand pressing into your lower back. "Finally! Yes!" Dustin screamed, throwing his fist up into the air. "Woohoo! Go, y/n!" Robin cheered from the distance, smiling at you. Pulling away from the kiss, you looked at the others who were all looking at you and Eddie. You couldn't help but feel this warmness in your chest looking at them.
"It was about time!" Max shouted from up the hill where she sat with Nancy. You turned your head to look at them, seeing both of them with a grin on their faces. "Looks like the long-haired freak has a girlfriend after all," Erica walked up to both of you, a makeshift spear in her hand. "And it so happens to be my old babysitter." She smirked. "Erica." Lucas groaned, running up behind her. She looked over her shoulder, "just the facts!" She shrugged at Lucas. "Let's just get back to making the spears." Lucas shook his head. Erica waved at you before following Lucas back to their spot.
Letting go of Eddie, you ran back over to where Dustin was. "Where are you going?!" Eddie ran after you. You grabbed your shield off of the ground, holding it up to Dustin. "Oh, really?" Dustin raised his brows, snatching his shield off of the grass. Eddie tried to stop the smile from forming on his face as he watched you and Dustin play fight with the shields. "Come here, Henderson!" You screamed. Eddie's eyes followed you all over the field, admiring your every move and expression. He couldn't take them off of you. Your smile was like heaven to him. And your laugh was like music to his ears. He let out a blissful sigh, "goddamn you, y/n l/n." Eddie muttered to himself, a smile adorning his face.
