Katherine, their vampire ancestor, returned with a thirst for vengeance against Selene and Elena. Adding to the chaos, a curse began to escalate tensions between vampires and werewolves, threatening to plunge the town into further violence.

As Orianna tried to navigate these dangers, she learned of an even more terrifying truth. The Originals, the oldest and most powerful vampires, were on their way to Mystic Falls. These legendary beings once thought to be mere fables used to frighten children, had a keen interest in Selene and Elena, the doppelganger twins. Their arrival heralded a danger unlike anything Orianna had faced before.
