Chapter 10

After another 10 minutes you still sat around on the bench together.

"So, about earlier, are you really scared of me?" You asked, with genuine curiosity.

"Ugh, you don't give up do you. You're not that special, I'm not scared of you, who do you think I am!" She said defensively.

"Oh.. Sorry for asking.." You mumbled, returning to silence.

She paused before she spoke again.

"Sorry, that was.. rude. I.. I really don't know. I guess?" She said in a more calm and sorrow tone.

For some reason with made your heart sink.

"I would never hurt you." You explained.

"Oh! Heavens no, of course you wouldn't, I'm not frightened by you in that way." She said with wide eyes.

"Thank goodness." You huffed in relief.

"It's just.. I fear living in your shadow forever. I don't always want to come second, to be the first loser. My family expect so much from me, I'm afraid I can't fill their shoes.. It's just all so much.." She sighed, her voice breaking gently.

Her voice filled with sorrow broke your heart even more. Without hesitation you brought her into a warm embrace.

"I'm sorry." You said softly into the embrace.

After a few sweet moments you pulled away. You looked her in the eyes and put laid a gentle hand on her cheek.

"You'll never be in my shadow, yes I may have one of the highest grades in the school but you are so much better in many ways. You need to see your self worth, you mean so much to so many people and you're a great hero. You are so much better than me you just don't see it." You explained in a soft tone.

She put her hand over yours as it rested on her face.

"You're so good with your words Y/l." She caresses your hand with her thumb.

Your face began to heat up slightly. She leaned in and kissed your cheek before getting up.

"Let's get back, shall we?" She held her hand out.

After being dumbfounded for a few moments you took her hand. You walked back to her limousine, entering like you had earlier.

"All of a sudden I'm even more hungry than before." You complained, sliding down the seat partially.

Yaoyorozu rolled her eyes slightly. "Don't die in here, we wouldn't want to pay the expenses of getting your body taken out of this car to some morgue. It's not cheap." She said in an unfazed tone.

"Uh.." You said, taken back by her gruesomeness. You looked at her with concern. She looked back at you with the same unfazed expression until a smile formed on her face.

"I'm just kidding. Here, we usually keep snacks in here, or at least I hope we do." She said leaning over and opening a compartment close to her seat.

It rolled out into a small mini fridge. You looked at it in awe.

"Hell, now I really need a limousine." You thought to yourself.

"Here, do you like these?"  She held out what happened to be your favourite snack.

You took it and nodded, almost immediately stuffing it in your mouth.

"Thank you so much." You said wholeheartedly, you had 100 problems and that snack just solved 101 of them.

The rest of the way back to the dorms was nice, you and Yaoyorozu talked the rest of the way. It felt nice to actually talk about things other than work and school. It felt normal to talk like friends.

"Again, thank you so much for today, even though it was a little chaotic I never enjoyed shopping that much before." You said as you both walked towards the dormitories.

"Thank you for accompanying me. It was pleasant to have you come along." She admitted even though it took every cell in her body to do so.

You both reached the hallway that made you part ways.

"You're not so bad after all Y/l. Good night." She said accompanied with a beautiful smile before she turned around.

"Uh Yaoyorozu wait!" You spoke catching her attention. She turned around and looked at you with curiosity. "Please, call me Y/n. No need to be so formal anymore." You said.

"Okay than Y/n, you can just call me Momo. Good night." The way she said your name brought heat to your face.

"My face is warm.. Am I catching a cold..?" You thought, walking back to your dorm.

From the shopping till dropping to the capturing a villain, you were drained. Though you weren't miserable, you found yourself content about how you spent your Thursday. You put down the bag that held the quite expensive dress Yaoyorozu had bought you earlier. You smiled as the small token made your heart flutter. You got yourself ready for studying when someone knocked on your door. With curiosity and confusing you opened it, wondering why someone would be in need of your attention at 7pm.

"Hm, hey?" You said to Mina standing at your doorway.

"Tell me all about it!" She said excitedly. She hopped into your dorm without warning than sat herself down on a beanbag that was beside your bed.

"Make your self at home." You said sarcastically closing the door to your dorm. "Is this really more important than studying?" You dragged yourself along to the side of your bed where you sat down.

She nodded furiously. You sighed, knowing there was no way you were going to convince her to leave with out telling her about the time you had spent with who you thought was your arch-nemesis.

"So.. How was it? She beat you up?" She playfully nudged me.

"What?! No way, I'd never let that happen." You paused and thought for a second. ".. It was actually kind of pleasant. I think I actually enjoyed myself." You admitted wholeheartedly.

Mina looked a little surprised, her eyes growing bigger than usual. A small gap formed from her parted mouth as she let out a small gasp.

"Really? Wow, man I lost the bet.." She trailed off looking at the ground.

"Bet? What bet?" You arched a brow.

"Well Sero, Denki and I all made a bet on what would happen to you. I thought she'd treat you like shit. Looks like I owe them dinner." She huffed, sliding back a little.

"Ugh rude. She's not that bad you know." You rubbed the back of your neck nervously.

"Y/n Sweetie, you catching feelings?" She said in a semi joking tone.

You retaliated back, put your hands in front of you. "No no. Of course not. Feelings mess you up, I promised myself I'd only focus on my studies and friends." You said. You had a weird feeling that you were actually trying to convince yourself.

"Oh? Okay. Well don't be so hard on yourself, having a crush isn't that bad." She gave you a empathetic smile.

"Plus, I don't like her. I mean she's pretty, smart, and she's secretly really soft.." You started to trail off into thought with a slight blush.

"Yo, Y/n. Earth to Y/n." Mina snapped you out of a trance.

"Oh! Uhm. Yeah as I was saying, she's okay and all but I don't like her. Plus she'd never like me, she's straight of course and probably doesn't want a relationship and same with me. We're not even friends." You explained, feeling slightly confused.

"Well if you're ever confused or just need to talk I'm here. Anyways, do tell me about your time." She said changing the subject.

You explained everything that took place that eventful evening, including the villain capturing part which spiked her interest. After talking for around an hour you found yourself  playing video games together which you usually do on weekends but you could make an exception this one time.

It was around 9:30 pm when you said to say goodnight to Mina, watching her exited your dorm. You used the last bit of energy stored up to study, apparently you had over worked yourself because you passed out over all your opened text books and notes.
