"MS BLACK !" McGonagall's voice rang out sharply across the Great Hall. She walked briskly towards the Slytherin group, her cloak fluttering behind her.

The Slytherin group snorted in amusement, glancing at Cassie, who was smirking. She turned towards McGonagall with an innocent expression. "Yes, Minnie?" she responded sweetly.

Filch appeared behind McGonagall, his face twisted with rage. "You killed my cat!" he accused, his voice trembling with fury.

"No, what are you talking about?"

Filch's eyes blazed with anger. "I can't find her! Mrs. Norris is missing!"

Blaise chuckled, but his laughter quickly died under McGonagall's sharp look.

McGonagall's eyes narrowed as she gazed intently at Cassie. "Cassiopeia, if you tell me now, you won't get in trouble."

"They always say thatโ€”but if they did, I wouldn't believe them anyway," Cassie replied calmly, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

"Miss Blackโ€”" McGonagall started, her patience wearing thin.

"Oh, come on, Minnie. If you look at me like that with those emerald eyes, I'll give you my whole fortune," Cassie said, winking flirtatiously.

"Miss Blackโ€”I'll cancel your Hogsmeade weekend tomorrow if you don't tell me what you know," McGonagall said, her tone growing more severe.

Cassie looked back, her smirk fading.

"And your friends too," McGonagall added, her voice stern.

The Slytherin group burst into indignant protest. "That's not fair!"

McGonagall's gaze remained firm. "I'll decide what's fair. Now, Miss Black?"

Cassie huffed in frustration. "Alright, I gave Mrs. Norris a sleeping draught. She is in the second-floor armor next to Basil's portrait," she admitted, crossing her arms defiantly.

Filch spluttered indignantly, his face turning a deep shade of red. "You monster!"

Cassie shrugged nonchalantly. "She wouldn't stop meowing at Peeves. The poor guy was just doing his business."

Filch's eyes widened in outrage. "They were wrecking the bathroom!" he shouted.

"And?" Cassie replied, raising an eyebrow.

Filch turned to McGonagall, his voice trembling with anger. "I'll go to Dumbledore, you'll see!" he declared, before storming off, limping slightly.

"Twenty points from Slytherin, Miss Black," McGonagall said, her eyes still fixed on Cassie.

Cassie sputtered, her eyes widening in disbelief. "But you said I wouldn't get in trouble!"

McGonagall just raised an eyebrow, her lips tightening into a thin line. "That's just a thing we say," she responded, her tone matter-of-fact.

Cassie huffed in frustration, crossing her arms. "I knew it," she muttered under her breath.

"It's freezing, Pansy. Go put on two or three cloaks over your Hogwarts robe," Cassie said, slipping her arm into a leather jacket over her own Hogwarts robes.

Pansy frowned, her disappointment clear. "But Hogsmeade is the only time we get to dress up!"

"You're not going in those tee and shorts. You'll die from the cold," Cassie insisted, her voice firm.

With a huff, Pansy turned to go back to her dormitory. Cassie shook her head as she walked down to the common room where the Slytherin boys were lounging.

"What took you so long?" Theo asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Pansy," Cassie replied simply.

Everyone nodded in understanding, just as Pansy reappeared, descending the staircase with an exaggerated flourish.

"Alright, guys, I'm here!" Pansy announced, striking a pose.

"What the fuck?" Blaise said, staring at her in shock.

Pansy twirled around, showing off her outfit. "I look fantabulous, don't I?"

She had emerged wearing a bright green fur coat over her Hogwarts robes, a sight that made Cassie snort in amusement. "You look like a joker," Cassie said, unable to keep the laughter from her voice.

Pansy pouted, looking for support. "Malfoy?"

Draco glanced at her, trying to muster a supportive smile. "You look... good."

Theo rolled his eyes. "You're just saying that, mate."

Cassie, not caring enough to debate further, clapped her hands to get everyone's attention. "Alright, let's go. I have to pick up an order from Zonko's."

******************************

Upon arriving in Hogsmeade, the village was bustling with students. The group made their way to Zonko's Joke Shop, the bell above the door jingling as they entered.

Cassie approached the counter, where a stack of boxes waited for her. "I'm here to pick up my order," she told the shopkeeper, who nodded and handed over the packages.

"What did you get this time?" Blaise asked, peering over her shoulder.

"A bit of everything," Cassie smirked. "Carry my bag for me, Nott."

Theo saluted playfully. "Yes, my lady."

Cassie rolled her eyes but handed over the bag. Pansy stood shivering, clutching her green fur coat even tighter as a wave of cold wind blew through the open door.

"Where do we go next?" Pansy asked, her teeth chattering slightly.

"Let's go to Sleekeazy's," Draco suggested. "I want some more hair gel."

Everyone groaned collectively.

"Dray, you always say that but then spend half an hour trying every product you see," Cassie pointed out.

Draco huffed. "Butโ€”"

"How about you boys go to Sleekeazy's, and Pansy and I will wait at the Hog's Head?" Cassie suggested.

Theo and Blaise groaned, but Draco nodded in agreement.

"Anyone dare to go to the Shrieking Shack?" Draco proposed suddenly, a mischievous glint in his eye.

"Hell yeah," Blaise said immediately.

"Last to reach there gives the other fifty Galleons," Theo challenged.

"You're on," Draco agreed, and with that, the boys took off.

"Boys," Pansy shook her head at their antics, a knowing smile playing on her lips. Cassie simply shrugged.

"Ooh, Cassie, look at the wondrous Witches Boutique! They have new dresses," Pansy exclaimed, tugging at Cassie's sleeve.

Cassie chuckled. "You have enough dresses, Pansy."

Pansy protested, "But still, look at that lavender one!"

"Pansy, we're going to the bar," Cassie insisted, pulling her friend away from the boutique.

"Wait for me, I'll be back in a sec!" Pansy called out as she hurried towards the store.

As Pansy darted into the store, Cassie shook her head, her intuition telling her that this would take longer than expected.

"No, she won't," Cassie muttered to herself, deciding to occupy her time at the bar instead. She grabbed the latest copy of the Daily Prophet and settled onto a barstool, scanning the headlines.

She could feel eyes on her, and when she glanced up, she found the bartender staring at her suspiciously. Cassie rolled her eyes, unfazed by the scrutiny, before walking out of the bustling shop where a bunch of official-looking wizards were discussing something.

Cassie's curiosity piqued as she eavesdropped on the conversation.

"I heard Sirius Black attacked Hogwarts again," one of the officials murmured, his voice carrying a tone of worry.

"It's that Potter boy he's after," another one added.

Then, another voice chimed in, "I heard he's mad."

As she listened in, she noticed she wasn't the only one intrigued by the conversation. A large black dog stood nearby, its gaze fixed intently on the group of men as if it were listening to them as well.

Cassie raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the dog's behavior. She walked towards the peculiar animal, feeling a strange sense of curiosity pulling her towards it.

As the officials walked off, the dog tilted its head and, to Cassie's astonishment, picked up a copy of the Daily Prophet left behind by one of the men. Using its mouth, the dog held the newspaper and appeared to be scanning the pages with keen interest. Cassie watched in fascination as the dog even used its nose to flip a page, as if it were truly reading.

"Well, aren't you a smart dog?" an older witch remarked, stopping near the animal and ruffling its black fur.

The dog responded with a light bark before wagging its tail in acknowledgment.

The woman chuckled. "Are you hungry?" she asked, to which the dog barked again in response.

With a smile, the woman reached into her bag and produced a piece of fresh, frozen meat. "I guess you can have my lunch today."

The large black dog let out a loud bark of gratitude before gently taking the meat in its mouth and walking off.

The woman smiled as she watched the dog depart, then continued on her way.

Meanwhile, Cassie couldn't shake her curiosity. She quickly glanced back at the boutique, where she could see Pansy chatting animatedly with Daphne. With a reassuring nod to herself, Cassie made a decision. "She'll be fine," she muttered before walking in the direction the dog had gone.

As snow flicked off her boots with each hurried step, Cassie's mind raced with disbelief as she examined her surroundings.

ย "Whomping Willow?" she whispered incredulously to herself.

Her pace quickened as she followed the large black dog, its strides leading them towards the infamous Whomping Willow. Cassie watched in awe as the dog approached the tree. It prodded a knot on the trunk, causing the violent thrashing of branches to subside.

Staring at the scene in amazement, Cassie couldn't help but shake her head in disbelief. "Well, screw it, let's go," she muttered determinedly, her large strides carrying her towards the narrow entrance.

Cassie crawled forward, headfirst, and slid down an earthy slope to the bottom of a very low tunnel. Cassie walked forward, bent almost double. The tunnel began to rise; moments later, it twisted.

Through the dim light filtering through a small opening, Cassie paused, gasping for breath in the cramped space. "All this for a bloody dog," she muttered to herself, her frustration evident.

But as she peered through the small patch of light, her frustration turned to disbelief. There was no black dog in sight. Instead, her eyes widened as she realized whatโ€”or whoโ€”was waiting on the other side.

"Sirius?" she whispered, her voice barely audible.

The pieces of the puzzle fell into place in Cassie's mind. Everything suddenly made senseโ€”how Sirius Black had managed to break into Hogwarts not once, but twice.

A mass of filthy, matted hair hung to his elbows. If eyes hadn't been shining out of the deep, dark sockets, he might have been a corpse. The waxy skin was stretched so tightly over the bones of his face, it looked like a skull. His yellow teeth were bared in a grin, his hand reaching out for the raw meat before animalistically biting into it.

Without hesitation, Cassie reached for her wand, her fingers tightening around the smooth wood. This time, there would be no leniency, no mild spells to allow him to slip away.

Pointing her wand through the narrow opening, Cassie crouched low, her gaze unwavering as she chanted the incantation. "Ligare Anguis!" she commanded.

In an instant, thick cords burst forth from her wand, snaking their way towards Sirius and wrapping around him with a forceful grip. He let out a grunt of surprise as the cords tightened around him, his struggles becoming more frantic as he searched for the caster.

Cassie smirked triumphantly, her confidence growing as she flicked her wand once more, sending Sirius slamming violently against the wall. The cords adhered to the surface and held him in place.

Sirius grunted in pain, his yellowed teeth bared in a snarl as he struggled against his restraints.

"That was for Halloween," Cassie snided before crouching and jumping out into the room.

(OK, pause hereโ€” I debated a lot about whose POV to keep this in because both are important. But then I couldn't decide, so I'm attempting a neutral one, which gives you both sides of the story. It probably turned out bad. If you think, after reading this, that it's too confusing or something, let me know which POV you would prefer.)

Sirius stared at the young girl with disbelief as she emerged from the narrow opening, her black curls framing her face. There was something oddly familiar about herโ€”was she the same girl from Halloween? The thought nagged at him as he struggled against the tight cords restraining him.

Cassie smirked, her eyes glinting with determination as she stepped forward, her movements purposeful.

"I have waited long for this day," she declared, her voice laced with a hint of menace. "I always wanted revenge, but I never thought I would be the one to feed you to the Dementors. Or maybe," she added, her tone darkening, "I should just kill you."

Sirius's struggles grew more frantic as he listened to her words, his heart pounding in his chest. "Listen, girl," he began, his voice hoarse with desperation.

Cassie raised an incredulous eyebrow. "Girl? Didn't recognize me, did you?"

His struggles faltered as he processed her words. What did she mean, recognize her?

With a smirk, Cassie continued, "Well, I guess introductions are in order, aren't they, father?"

Sirius froze, his sunken eyes widening in shock and disbelief.

"Cassiopeia?" he whispered, his voice barely audible, disbelief evident in his tone.
