It has only been a little over a month into the school year, yet I have been way too busy with the curriculum and adjusting to living by myself, that I can not do more than deemed necessary.

Sleep. Wake up. School. Homework. Sleep.

And the cycle repeats.

Boring? Yes, but it is what it is. (🤡)

The lunch bell rang. I sighed, grabbing my lunchbox on the go as I head out of the classroom.

I had forced the maids to let me pack my lunch today, as I don't want to be too heavily reliant on my maids. It took me a few hours to make just one, but as I continued making the other two boxes, it became easier and easier. Granted, I started from washing rice with dish soap and baking the pan in the oven to 'preheat it', but we don't talk about that. Maybe I can be the next Lunch Rush. ✨

"Hey Matsu!" someone shouted. "Are you finally going to eat with us today? Why do you always seem so busy?"

I turned around, spotting the same girl who had always been repeatedly seeking me out for lunch waving me over with her hand. Straining my lips into a forced smile, I tilted my head and gave her a curt response. "I don't think I can."

"What whyyyy?" she whined, dragging out the y. "Is it because you don't like me? Did I do something wrong?"

Do I really need a reason to not want to be near your annoying ass? "Look-"

"Where do you go to eat anyways?"

"You take your lunchbox..es with you, so you must be eating somewhere." She replied, gesturing to the stack of lunchboxes and snacks in my hand.

"Uhm.." Squeezing out every last ounce of my brain juice dry, trying to come up with a passable lie, I pondered over the many ideas that had decided to come up at the given moment.

I eat with the counselor?

I actually eat with someone else? I mean that could work but it's obvious that I don't have any friends here.

I have a phobia of eating in front of others.

I have a top secret meeting with the 12 underlings from hell appointed by satan himself everyday at this hour, discussing over how I'm supposed to brainwash every single kid in this school as a first step to conquering the world.

...

I'm allergic to humans.

Grggle...

Ah shit. Screw this, I'm not creative with an empty stomach. "I eat on the rooftop." I sighed.

"What?! Why don't you just say so?" she exclaimed. "We can all just move up there and eat with you."

I shook my head. "I prefer eating up there alone, to clear my mind."

Bringing you up there would ruin the point.

She pouted. "Aww, you're no fun."

"Sorry?" I chuckled awkwardly.

We stared at each other for an akward amount of time, it was getting so uncomfortable that I had to start slowly back away and physically leave before I shrivel into my own skin from anxiety.

"Hah. Well, bye!" I waved and scooted myself out from the classroom, finally walking up the staircase to the rooftop.

Again, I plopped myself down near the same spot close to the ledge, directly across from the floof's.

There were some scientific research about how humans tend to prefer to and like to pick up on habits. For example, even if teachers don't assign seats, students tend to sit in the same spot as they did on the first day. Though it doesn't apply to most people, it still holds true to many others on other aspects, like ordering coffee on every Wednesday's or picking the same seat to eat in the same restaurant. But you're not here to listen to this crap, so I'll continue on with the story.

Hesitantly, I glanced towards the direction, praying to god that he won't catch me as I didn't want to creep him out.

His hair tousled in the wind, making it look 10 times more fluffier than it already is. His head was leaned back against the wall, knees propped up supporting his elbow. He seemed to be intrigued with whatever is playing on his phone, as his eyes seemed to be fixed onto the screen.

Wait, he isn't eating anything for lunch?

grggle...

He shifted his weight onto one side, propping his chin with his knuckles before turning his full attention onto the screen again with red-tipped ears.

I tilted my head.

Hefting up from my spot, patting invisible dust from my skirt, I walked towards the floof, trying to calm my nerves down.

I'll just give him one of my lunchboxes and leave. Lunch box. Leave. Lunch box. Leave. Lunch box. Leave.

"Hey!" I greeted him. "Did you forget your lunch today?"

"meo—" He quickly closed a tab, shoved his phone behind his back and peered up towards me, squinting his eyes at me in suspicion, (though his flushed face made him seem more embarrassed than intimidating.) "Uh... yeah."

"Do you want some of mine? I have a lot." I offered, showing him one of the three stacks of lunchboxes in one hand, and another bag filled with snacks in the other.

"..."

His eyes scanned up and down my figure, not in a 'I'm checking you out' way, but in a 'what the fuck are you planning' way. He silently looked towards the lunchboxes and snacks before looking back at my eyes.

I squirmed under his piercing stare, visibly uncomfortable with the situation at hand. Oh my god, come on man! Take the food or don't, it's not like I poisoned it or anything. I just offered you some food cause you seemed like you wanted some.

"Uhm," I awkwardly chuckled, "Never min-"

"Okay." He replied curtly.

I beamed and said screw it, placing myself next to the purple sheep. He scooched a bit towards the right, giving me some room before putting his phone in his pocket. I pulled out the third, most successful bento from the three and handed it to him. "Here you go! Tell me if you want more, I have snacks!" I grinned.

Carrying out the first bento I made, I placed it on my lap and took out my utensils before praying and began eating. Taking a bite out from the slightly hard rice, my eyebrows scrunched realizing how distasteful it was. It was pretty bad, but it's alright for a first try. 'Maybe I should add more water next time, I'll ask the maids about it tonight.'

"Why do you have so much food?" He asked, "No offense but you don't seem like the person who would eat that much."

My lips pierced upon the mention of my rather huge appetite, feeling my cheeks heating up despite being under the shade. "Ahah, yeah." I chuckled slightly before continuing, "It's because of my quirk."

He tilted his head, his hair bouncing slightly in return, urging me to further explain.

I placed my chopsticks down beside the lunchbox, finding a loose leaf and grabbed it to demonstrate. "I can grow plants from touching anything with all 5 of my fingers, but they intake my fat." I explained, placing five fingers onto the leaf.

Upon the contact, a tiny mushroom began sprouting from the surface of the leaf. "Not much could be grown on their yet, as I had only took a bite of rice, but it basically converts the calories I intake into plants."

I placed the leaf beside me and picked up my bento again, scooping up a bite of pickled radish. "It gets a little more complex than that, but to keep it simple, I have to have enough stamina to grow them. Therefore explains why I eat more than average." I chomped onto the radish, savoring the crunchiness before swallowing it in mere seconds.

"Do they grow out from your hands or from the surface?" He asked. "I mean, I know briefly about your quirk since it has been appearing everywhere recently, not that I know why. I don't really indulge myself into those kinds of things, but it seems cool."

Finished the last bite of my bento, I closed the lid and placed it back into my bag, swapping with another one. "From the surface, it's really not that impressive. There's limits to it, and I have to understand the structure of the plant that I want to... grow? I guess?"

I don't really talk much about my quirk, but hearing his questions makes me want to learn more about how my quirk works myself. Though not gonna lie, I'm kind of surprised he even asked.

"That's pretty cool." He concluded.

"Thanks." I smiled.

His eyebrows lifted at my response. "You don't seem to believe me."

"Huh?" I jumped, almost choking on my lunch. "Wait, what did you say?" I asked.

He sighed. "Nevermind."

No the fuck? Tell me what happened, don't dismiss my question?!

Ignoring my confused stare, he picked up his bento and took a bite from it. His eyes widened at what I guessed was disbelief. My eyes scanned over his face, trying to depict any visible sign of disgust, suddenly regretting that I had offered him my bento. "Did your mom make this?" He asked.

"Ah, nope, I did." I quirked an eyebrow, "Why? Does it taste bad? I have snacks if you don't like it."

He sweatsdropped. "No, it's really good."

I sighed in relief and smiled, "I'm glad." —That you didn't die from chemical poisoning.

One of the maids offered to try out my first batch of food and had to get rushed to the hospital. The reason ended up being somewhere along the lines of how I shouldn't be cooking the meat with its plastic packaging. It was too hard to get it out, so I just threw it in the pan. The plastic melted with the oil so I thought it was like one of those rice candy packagings where the packaging itself was made out of rice paper.

She didn't ended up dying though, which is good as I wouldn't have known what to say to my mother if she did. 'Hey mother? I killed one of the professional maids 2 months into hiring them. They died because of my cooking.' (💀)

He slipped out his phone, turning on a locked screen of a cat. "You like cats?" I thought out loud.

He blushed. "Yeah.. do you?"

"I don't know, I don't think I've ever actually interacted with one." I replied, closing the lid of my bento to grab a snack from my bag.

Thinking back, every time my mother and I would walk past a pet-store, my mother would always pull me away from the fluffy kittens on display before I would get too attached to any of them. My childhood would've been a lot more interesting with a pet, but I guess it would've distracted me from fulfilling the promise.

I peered over to look at him to see his jaws hung open in shock. Immediately I panicked and tried to reassure him that it was fine. Hurriedly responding, I waved my arms up and down in a waving motion. "Ah, but I bet they're nice! They look very floofy!" I grinned.

"...floofy?"

"Yeah! Like your hai-" Ah shit.

"My what?" He smirked, leaning in towards me in a taunting manner.

"...nothing." I squeaked, feeling my whole face burning up. If I was to look at a mirror right now, I swear nobody would be able to tell the difference between me and a cotton ball dyed with cherry kool-aid.

MDJDJEHDUDDJDKKEKEJDIEKEJEIMEJDEJEJEKEKK

"Pfft." he snorted. "Your weird."

"Hah." Never heard that one before. "Haha." I 'laughed.'

Before lunch ended, I was able to learn more and more about floof, one of which was that he actually own 3 cats. He found them in different times, but they were all strays he picked up on in the street. (I was also able to finish the 3 bags of family sized shrimp crackers.) (🙈✨)

Soon enough, the lunch bell rang again. We packed up and cleaned our spot before heading back to the classroom together. He opened the door, gesturing with a dip of his head for me to go on ahead of him. "Thank you!" I chuckled.

"No problem." He smiled.

As we both walked down the stairs shoulder to shoulder together, I stopped for a bit to look at his eyes.

They were probably the most kindest and beautiful eyes I've ever seen. The hues of purple and violet danced within his orbs, sucking me into its depths. It was like staring at two shiny amethysts under a bright telescope.

"So... I never got to learn your name." I smiled. "I'm Matsu Y/N by the way, though I'm guessing you already knew."

He chuckled. "Yeah, they were practically chanting it on the first day, its hard not to remember."

He placed his left arm behind his neck and tilted his head forward in a shyly manner. "I'm Shinsou Hitoshi."

"Ah, what a handsome name, matches your looks." I winked.

He laughed. "Your name is pretty too."

JBUHUHSINEKNIHEIHEKNDIH

"Ah, we're almost there." I commented, turning my head away to hide my growing blush.

He hummed. "You should enter first, I'll go in a bit after you."

"Huh?" Immediately I whipped my head back towards his direction, frowning upon seeing the cold facade he had pulled over on his first day. "And why would you do that?"

"...People just don't like me because... well you know why. I don't want them to dislike you either."

"Shinsou, I'm flattered. I really am, but I'm not leaving you out here by yourself." I pouted.

Seeing that he isn't about to budge anytime soon, I grabbed his hands and pulled him towards the classroom. As he stumbled forward, I, quite boldly, wrapped my arms around his and continued dragging him forward along with me.

"Matsu, I—"

"Hush." I haulted, making him bump into my shoulder due to our height difference.

Staring right into his eyes, I frowned again upon seeing his depressed expression. "You're a wonderful person! how can someone not like you?" I questioned.

He looked down at the ground, denying to look at my eyes. I unwrapped my arms and squeezed his cheeks so his face was turned towards me. "Look, if they're gonna hate on you over something that you can't change, then screw them! I know for sure you aren't gonna be a villain so don't listen to their non-sense."

"I can go on and on about how great you are, and we've barely even know each other for an hour! I swear if I see you saying crap about yourself again, I'm going to steal those nice kneecaps of yours."

"I—"

Holding his hand, I brought it up to his view and smiled. "You're an amazing person Shinsou. I, frankly don't give a fu—rick for what they say and class is gonna start soon so—."

"Let's head in then..." He cutted me off. "... before we're gonna be marked as late."

There's so many awesome ppl and friends that I've made here, ndjddmdjsms im totally not crying while writing this.
I would've never thought that I would meet so many sweet ppl. 🥺

Unfortunately, I only know my readers who have put my book in their reading list, comment on my book, or vote on my book. I know their names and always thank them on their message board. However, even if you're just reading the story and constantly checking it out, you're still very much loved 🙈❤️
Don't feel guilty for not voting, or commenting. As long as I've "made your day a 'lil bit better" by reading my book, I'll be happy.

I came here on this app alone, and I didn't understand anything. I decided to risk it and start a book even though I've never EVER written a book before. I started okay, but I wasn't happy with it so I decided to rewrite everything. I actually believed that all the previous readers would just drop everything and leave, but u guys didn't... qwq

I'm really really really grateful for you guy's and I'm really happy that I have such a supportive community. I love you all so much, nothing is big enough to compare it to.

As you may have know, I had went into a haitus. I was at a stage where I hated everything I wrote, I cringe at everything I write, so much so that I couldn't bring myself to write anything. I lost inspiration and all I could think about is the numbers.

However, during the haitus, there were unexpectedly more people finding my book and checking it out, which really overwhelmed me at first. However, after reading so many sweet comments, I can't help but feel more and more inspired everyday! Because of you guys, my self esteem had finally risen a bit, and I could bring myself to write this chapter and so on despite the online classes. I know for sure that I would continue to write more stories, because it has become one of my favorite hobbies uwu.

For real, if you want to just talk to me, all you have to do is comment and I'd definitely hit u up with a conversation. Or just message me on my board and I'd shower you with all of the love I can give uwu.

(I'll maybe open up a discord server/ insta group chat, but I don't know if anyone actually wants to be in it 👉👈.)

I really really really reallyyyy love you all so so much. 💘💓💞💕💝💗💖

And thank you guys so so so much.
I literally went from 1k+ to 6k+ its crazy. 👽

Don't forget to vote and comment :D
