THIRTY ONE.
❛ MISS PIGGY. ❜
Red hair spread out on the silk sheets like a halo as Lexi stared down at the Blossom girl, briefly lowering her eyes to her girlfriend's lips. Cheryl bit her the inside of her lips in anticipation, watching Lexi lick her own in response.
"Are you going to kiss me or are you going to stare at me all night?"
The brunette smirked, leaning in enough just to mingle their breaths and pausing as Cheryl closed her eyes expecting a kiss. "Stare at you." She answered playfully, letting her lips ghost over her girlfriend's.
Cheryl's eyes flashed back open and scoffed back at her with a glare. Lexi smiled to herself as Cheryl pushed her off her and flipped them over so that the redhead was on top. Her smile only widened when she felt Cheryl shiver from the feeling of Lexi's fingertips dancing over the bare skin at her hips. Rolling her eyes at the smugness radiating off the brunette beneath her, Cheryl leaned down and connected their lips with a series of slow but meaningful kisses.
Lexi groaned in protest as Cheryl pulled back and smirked down at her. "You were saying?"
Rolling her eyes, Lexi brought hand up to the side of her neck and coached her back down to her. "Shut up and kiss me again."
"Whatever you say, babe." Cheryl happily brought their lips back together, moaning as Lexi licked her lip and smirked against her.
Just as Lexi's hand wrapped around the back of Cheryl's bra and was about to undo the clasp, the door burst open and Cole Hale stood at the doorway. "Lexi, Toby's wants— Ah! Ah! My eyes! My poor virginity stolen eyes!"
Cheryl quickly flung herself off his sister and ducked under the covers to hide her lingerie cladded body. Whereas Lexi sat upright in her sports bra and threw her pillow at him which effectively hit him square in the face due to the fact he hadn't seen it coming after he'd put his hand over his eyes to avoid seeing any other unholy scenes.
"What the fuck?" He stumbled back before gritted his teeth. "Lexi, I swear to f— is it safe to look yet?"
"No," Lexi stressed. "Get out, weirdo."
Cole sighed and tried to refrain from snapping back at her. "Toby wants to know if you two want Chinese food."
"Chinese food?" Lexi glanced down at her side where Cheryl was still hiding herself under the duvet. The redhead gave her a blank stare, neither nodding or shaking her head, silently saying it was up to Lexi. "I could go for Chinese food. Yeah, get my usual and a portion of chow mein for Cheryl. Oh, and crackers!"
Cole walked back out the door with his hand still over his eyes and accidentally walked into the doorframe, muttering a string of curses under his breath before he slammed the door close behind him.
Cheryl slowly re-emerged from her hiding spot and sat leaning against the head board when Lexi turned back to her. "Trust me, you'll love what I got for you and if not you can have mine."
The redhead smile faintly. "My mother will probably kill me for eating something as unhealthy as takeaway."
"The wicked witch of the west doesn't need to know, love." Lexi smirked before continuing, "I'd say we still have a good fifteen/twenty minutes left until the food gets here, so what do you want to do?"
Cheryl let the brunette strangle her hips and lean forward to place gentle kisses along her neck and jawline. She had to bit her lip to keep from moaning loudly as Lexi found her sweet spot and it took all her strength to get out the words, "Stare at you?" to mock the Hale girl's earlier statement.
Lexi and Cheryl arrived together the next day for Polly's baby shower with Cheryl pushing the baby stroller she'd insisted Lexi help her bring over from the Blossom mansion. Their arrival gained them a sharp glare from Penelope Blossom who despised their 'friendship', suspecting the two were more than they let on.
"Cheryl," Penelope greeted with a false smile as she hugged her daughter for show. "I see you're still doing charity work, helping the poor and unfortunate get around town to socialise."
"Squeal all you want, Miss Piggy. I'm not gonna bite." Lexi shot back before moving to greet Polly with a hug and grin.
"First Jason, now you. Why can't my children stay away from that dreadful girl?" Penelope snapped at Cheryl who bit her tongue and shrugged.
"I'm still learning to spend my time in good company. Don't worry, I'll learn eventually, mother." Cheryl smiled warmly at the deepening frown on her mother's face before going to join her secret girlfriend.
"We're here!" Cheryl announced, pushing the stroller over to the Cooper women and Lexi. "No big deal, it's only the best stroller money can buy."
"It's so expensive," Polly commented causing Lexi to snort in amusement, already having told the redhead that, not that the Blossom listened.
"All I ask in return is that you make me your baby's godmother," Cheryl grinned wildly, oblivious to the sour look on Alice's face or Betty's side eye. "Kidding," she joked before mumbling, "So not kidding." as she walked away to find her grandmother, knowing her mother probably left her by the door.
Not long after all the guests had arrived, Nana Rose offered to do a spiritual reading of the baby and it's health. Polly was more than eager to hear anything new regarding the baby and sat down beside the old woman. Nana Rose pulled out a pink crystal on a silver chain and hung it over Polly's outstretched palm. "This necklace reads the baby's aura. Predicts the sex."
"Nana has dementia and Gypsy blood." Cheryl informed standing beside her grandmother.
"Oh!" Nana Rose exclaimed, causing the others to perk up.
"What? Is my baby okay?" Polly asked frantically.
"Babies," she corrected. "It's twins, one of each."
"This is occultism at its most ludicrous." Alice whispered to Betty before noticing the pointed look her youngest daughter gave her. "But I'm grateful to be here."
After the reading, they moved onto gifts. Lexi moved over beside Jughead, fed up with the many, many glares Penelope was giving her for being too close to Cheryl. "I'm starting to feel out of place. I'm the only girl not wearing a skirt."
Jughead couldn't help the amused smile spreading across his lips. "Tell me about it."
Polly had just moved onto her present from the Blossoms when Archie crashed the party, causing the women to exchange confused looks at his abrupt entrance. He didn't stop to acknowledge anyone until he made his way towards Lexi and Jughead. "You were protecting him. That's why you didn't tell me—"
"Relax." Jughead frowned in confusion. "What happened?"
"Archie," Betty called as she joined the three.
Archie glanced back at her before asking, "Did you know Jughead's father is a Serpent?"
Lexi paled from beside a startled Jughead, wondering how on earth he found out. Jug switched his gaze to Betty who had been joined by Veronica, afraid she would turn on him after finding out the truth.
"No." Betty answered hesitantly, looking back at Jug in shock.
"That's why he tried to stop me from going to the bar so I wouldn't find out. After everything my dad has done for you—" Archie said in disbelief.
"Archie, I can explain, okay?" Jughead began, prolonging having to look back up and see the disgust and disappointment on his friends faces.
"Not right now." Veronica whispered. "This is Polly's day. So you two need to check yourselves. I mean it."
"Archie—"
"No, save it." Archie shook his head before letting Veronica escorted him out of the party.
Betty cast her boyfriend one last look before going back to her sister's side just in time for Cheryl asking Polly to move in with them.
"Hey," Jughead looked to his side to see Lexi was still there, the disbelief and anger he'd seen on his friends faces no where in sight on hers. "So what he's a Serpent. Don't let them drag you down for this. You aren't one and it shouldn't matter if your dad is or not."
Jughead sighed heavily and ran a hand over his face. "But it does matter. It really does."
They didn't say much else until their attention was caught by Polly standing up to break up Alice Cooper and Penelope Blossom's bitch fight. "Enough, both of you!"
"If you believe one lie this woman is saying—"
"This is why Jason is dead." Polly snapped, her words knocking the air out of Lexi's lungs. "Because of this hate. This pointless, stupid fighting."
"Honey, honey," Alice tried reaching out for her to comfort her daughter as tears gathered in the young mother's eyes.
"No, don't touch me." She yanked her arm out of reach. "We were supposed to be together. And you didn't let us have that. Neither of you. And you know what? It cost Jason his life."
"Polly," Alice said softly as her daughter walked away from the party.
Lexi hesitatingly deposited her glass of water down on the table behind her as she went after the blonde to console her. If there was anyone Polly wouldn't shove out of the room immediately, it was her.
