The sunrise was coming up when Lilas phone rung. The sky was a faint orange color that had touches of pink within. The ferry was infront of Lila, the blue car parked as close to the side as possible. JJ's name ran across her screen ten minutes after she arrived, taking her eyes off the sky and answering it, "JJ, do you see this?"

"Yeah, I didn't know the ferry was here." he said to her from the other line, the motor stopping from the other side, "We're as close as we can get. There's a huge reef that'll fuck up the moter if we get closer."

"We?" Lila asked, pulling her two bags from the back and shutting the door.

"Hey, Lila." Kie said from the other line, "You're a crazy bitch."

"What happened to no one knowing?" Lila teased as she looked at the large ferry.

"Kinda hard for that to happen when JJ tried to steal my dads boat at three in the morning." Popes voice came from the other side as Lila smiled, "We're not sure when the ferry's gonna move so we're just gonna wait it out."

"No." Lila said suddenly as she looked at the open ramp, "What side are you guys on?"

"North, what are you thinking?" Kie asked, only getting silence, "Lila?"

"She hung up." JJ said as he threw his phone and looked up at the ferry.

"Shit." Kie huffed.

"Just, chill out." JJ waved her off, throwing his hat to the side as he looked at any sight of the blonde.

"You chill out, shes reckless as hell." Kie rolled her eyes, standing up on the seats, "Pope, do you have your binoculars?"

"Yup." he nodded, fetching them from under the seat.

Lila crept up the ramp of the ferry, looking around. They'd been moving golf clubs it seemed, many sets lined up across the deck. Lila watched her surroundings as she snuck around. The sound of workers talking made her hide behind one of the stair cases, watching as they walked above her on the ramp. When they were gone, she began walking again.

The ferry was larger then what it looked to be, and she was exposed heavily if she walked across the deck. Lila crept forward some, looking up at the few workers that were loading the golf clubs. Lila waiting until their heads were turned to walk forward, hurrying in a jog before the voice heard.

"Hey! You can't be up here." a man spoke, a yellow hard hat on his head. Lilas eyes widened as she began running, him not far behind her, "Hey! Get back here."

Lila paused as she swung around, kicking him in the gut and grabbing hold of one of the golf clubs to hit him in the leg. The man yelled in pain as Lila dropped the golf club, sprinting toward the north side in no time, "I'm so sorry!"

"Wait, I see her!" Kie said as she dropped the binoculars, "Lila!"

The blonde sprinted to the side. She was about eleven feet above them, Hayward's small boat floating lower.

"It's too high, don't do it!" Pope yelled at her.

"Cmon, Lila!" JJ encouraging her.

"Catch these, its all my transfer scripts and my video camera!" Lila called down to them, pulling her belt off and tightening it around her bags. She looked down at the pogues again, "Ready?"

Pope stood up on the seat, Kie holding his ankle so he wouldn't fall. Lila stood on the railing and chunked her bags hard, holding her breath before Pope caught them as he nearly fell into the water. Lila sighed in relief as she looked at them with a grin. The morning lit up her black eyes in a way that didn't make them come off too dull, the purple Hawaiian top illuminated her in a nice way.

"There's a huge coral reef surrounding the ferry, you're gonna get stung bad!" Kie called out to her as she looked around, "Get back to the car, we're gonna wait for it to leave."

"I already pisses off some weird motherfucker in a hard hat, they're gonna call the police on me!" Lila called back as she looked back and found the man she hit in the leg hadn't been there anymore.

"You're a seventeen year old runaway, the police are probably already after you!" Pope called back as he looked up at her, "Horrible idea, by the way."

"See, this is why we didn't involve the two of you." JJ pointed out, keeping the boat steady, "I think I can get closer."

"JJ, no." Kie threatened him, "You're gonna get her killed."

"No i'm not." he argued, starting the boat up and inching closer. Pope cringed as he heard the scratch of the reef hit the bottom, "Sorry, Pope."

"She's over there." Lila heard behind her, turning and finding a few men with similar hard hats walking from the top. Lilas eyes widened as she looked at her friends then was running toward the way she came in.

"Lila!" JJ called as she was gone, "Where the hell did she go?"

"Go around, she might be on the other side." Pope said as Kie looked up at the opening.

"Wait!" Kie yelled to stop JJ.

Lila sprinted across the deck of the ferry, the three men not far behind her. Her mind was racing and told her to stop, but her legs hadn't stopped moving. She ran toward the orange sunrise, getting close and closer to the edge of the boat while the yells of the ones behind her were only echoes suddenly. Lila listened to her adrenaline and only hoped that if she died, her friends would make a documentary on her.

"Lila!" Kie yelled in panic when she saw her.

Lila ran full speed at the end of the ferry, her right foot coming up on the railing as her left followed, kicking off harshly. She jumped the second she was up there, aiming for Hayward boat.

"Catch her, Pope!" JJ hollered as he let the wheel go, hurrying toward the edge of the boat as Pope did the same, "Fall back! Fall back!"

Lilas body crashed through the morning air, down from the ferry. Pope and JJ pushed together as the blonde came down hard. She barely made the boat, the boys grabbing her and falling backwards the only reason she had.

The trio groaned in pain as they hit the deck. Kie started the boat immediately and turned it around, running over a few coral reefs in the process, "Are you guys okay?"

Lila rolled off of Pope and JJ with a groaned, her elbow bleeding as the feeling of bruises forward on her legs. She looked down at the pair, "Are you two dead?"

"We're alive." Pope said as he caught his breath.

"Forgot to mention I gained five pounds." Lila said as she leaned on the seat, "Seperation anxiety from all of you, you know?"

"Didn't notice." JJ said as he sat up with a groan. Lila leaned over and hugged Pope, knocking him back down on the deck again.

"Poparie!"

He huffed at the impact but hugged her back, "I can't believe you just did that. You could have killed yourself."

"It was pretty cool though, wasn't it?" Lila asked, "Like, I could be the next Marvel hero."

Pope gave a minor scoff as Lila pulled back before turning toward JJ.

"Look at your hair!" she gapped, running her hands through the longer locks and giving the ends a small tug.

"Growing it out." he shrugged and hugged her tightly, "I can't believe we pulled that off."

"You two are fucking insane." Kie spoke in disbelief as she stared down at the hugging duo, "What were either of you thinking?"

"Thinking that I really needed to come home." Lila said as she stood up, Pope grabbed hold of the wheel as Kie threw her arms around Lila in a tight hug, "And that I really missed you guys."

"You jumped with no hesitation." Kie said in disbelief with a laugh, hugging her friend back, "I told them you were reckless."

"My dads gonna kill me." Pope said as he looked at the scratched boat, "Then he's gonna kill the rest of you."

"Then we should probably tell her before, shouldn't we?" JJ questioned as he looked toward Pope with a grin.

"Tell me what?" Lila asked, turning to look at the blonde. He was holding back slightly, "JJ, tell me."

"See for yourself." he said, throwing his phone her way. Lila caught it, staring at the screen that was already open and ready. It was a message, the final one reading

Get Lila.

"Who's this from?" Lilas asked, the unknown name throwing her off. The trio shared a look as Lila scrolled up, stopping at the photo of John B and Sarah. She stopped, frozen in place as Kie slowed the boat down. Lila looked up at the three.

"It's them." JJ grinned as Lila stared at him, "Like, seriously."

"They're alive?" Lila asked in disbelief as her eyes watered.

"Definitely alive." Kie laughed as Lila did the same, crying at the same time as the four hugged each other tightly.

"I was wondering why their ghost didn't say anything when I tried to summon them." Lila laughed as she held her friends, feeling their bodies vibrate in their own laugher, "What do we do?"

"We're getting there, but first, where are you staying?" Pope pulled away from Lila with a questionable look. The blonde gave a guilty smile, "Jesus, what did you do this time?"

"About that.." Lila trailed off as she bit down on her bottom lip.

"Absolutely not." Hayward said in disbelief as he stared at the four, "You're insane."

"Dad, she has no where to go." Pope tried to reason, "Shes basically homeless."

"Like a sad puppy." Kie added.

"I'll tell you were she can go. Home! In her little village." Hayward waved them off, "I don't want this little weirdo white girl having a seance in my living room again."

"I'll keep my ghost stuff out of the house. Please, Popes dad, you're all I have." Lila begged as she gave him a pleading look, "I'll go to school, all you have to do is sign the documents saying i'm staying with you. I'll even pay you rent, Kies gonna get me a job at The Wreck."

"Where are your moms? They just sign off on these papers free willing?" Hayward asked as he took the school documents from her hands, "I know you're forged these, child!"

"My moms are at home. They'll be okay, I swear. They know i'm with you guys." Lila spoke fast and in a bagging manor, "Call them! Maybe you can talk some sense into them."

"You're telling me you ran away from home, jumped off a ferry, forged transfer scripts, and now wanna live in this house?" he asked her in disbelief.

"Thats exactly what she's saying." JJ nodded his head.

"Wack, both of you!" Hayward said as he pointed toward the blondes, "Where do you plan on sleeping exactly? The boat? The roof? Popes room?

"I'm fine with the couch. I'll live outta my bags. I brought money for essentials and stuff. I literally live off of cheap nail polish, Hawaiian shirts, brown sugar lotion, and dry shampoo." Lila said as she held up one of her bag with the money in it, "I stole it from some baseball players."

"Lila!" Kie scolded her quickly.

"I mean I saved my tips from my job at the zoo." Lila said as she followed Popes dad as he began walking off, "I won't bother you at all. The couch is fine."

"That fool already sleeps on our couch." Hayward said as he pointed back at JJ.

"We can share. I like to cuddle anyways." Lila shrugged.

"Oh!",JJ gasped up from behind her, "Please."

Pope hit his arm.

"What? We still have our honeymoon to go on." JJ said as Lila snapped her fingers.

"Exactly, JJ and I literally got married outside of the country club." Lila pointed out as she walked close to Hayward, "You can't separate a married couple."

"Absolutely not. What type of idiot do you think I am to let the two of you sleep under the same roof? I wasn't born yesterday!" Hayward said as he pushed the door of his house open, Lila close behind as the trio followed close after, "How do you think Pope was born? Sleeping on a couch with a friend."

"Dad!" Pope cringed while JJ laughed and tried to fist pump Hayward.

"Oh, Lila!" Popes mom gushed when she saw her, "When did you get back?"

"When she jumped off a ferry and almost killed herself." her husband said in disbelief as he grabbed a beer from the fridge, "Don't fuel her to stay."

"Your moms aren't here?" the woman asked as she hugged the blonde, "The boys have been so sad since you left."

"Mom." Pope groaned.

"I wouldn't say so sad..." JJ trailed off off. Kie scoffed in disbelief.

"You cried for a week every time you walked outside, you son of a bitch." Hayward said as he pointed at JJ. Kie laughed loudly, "What are you laughing at?"

"Popes dad-" Lila began as she gave him a bagging look, "I won't have a kid with a friend on a couch. I won't scare you with my ghost and I won't even cost you anything. I'll give you money every month and I won't miss school."

He stared at her in disbelief, "How are your grades?"

"B's." Lila nodded.

"You get A's, you get a job and don't get your creepy ass fired either. I catch you trying to summon the dead, you're out. You get fired, you're out. You get below a 90, you're out. You complained, i'm sending you back to the village where you belong." Hayward listened on as he pointed at her each time, "You stay in the bed in the attic, if I catch you down here with that fool-"

"I'm out." Lila grinned with a wide smile, "Got it. I swear."

"I'm calling your moms, then i'll sign these." he said as Lila squealed and threw her arms around him, "And no huggin me! And stop calling me Popes Dad!"

"Sorry, dad, I won't mess up." Lila grinned as she turned around and hugged JJ and Kie.

"N-" Hayward began in disbelief before Pope gave him a look, "What are you looking at?"

"Thanks, dad." he gave him a soft smile, "It means a lot."

"Get that creep outta here before I change my mind." he waved them off. Kie giggled as she grabbed Lilas hand as the four began heading out of the house.

"She's back, baby!" JJ yelled into the sky as they ran down the docks together.
