Gouenji, Fubuki and Kidou rushed towards the building. The 3rd floor, the floor that Yuuka and the others are currently in was engulfed in flames!! Gouenji, being the responsible, loving elder brother he is, was worried about his sister. He was also worried about his friends. Fubuki was worried about his teammates and also worried of Yuuka, the youngest. Kidou was worried of all of them especially Haruna, his younger sister. They rushed into the lobby, smashing every infected that was in the way.

"Let's not use the elevator. It's horse sense that we do not use the elevator when there is a fire," Kidou said. He said it calmly but there was a panic look on his face.

Without a word, they rushed to the stairs and began dashing up the stairs. The moment they opened the door, they could feel the heat of the fire. The whole 3rd floor was engulfed in flames. The corridor was also flaming. It made the whole place glow in red and orange. Whats worse- Haruna and the others were no where in sight. Gouenji's face showed a very panicked expression. His sister was already sick with a fever. Now? Leave it to the fire for her to get better! Of course Yuuka's condition is going to get even worse!

"Quick! The corridor is filled its flaming infecteds! If we're going to get them out if here, might as well do it fast!" Fubuki exclaimed.

"Right!" Kidou and Gouenji agreed and all three of them ran down the corridor despite the fire and the flaming infecteds.

Fubuki couldn't use his wooden katana on the infecteds as they were on fire. If he used his wooden katana, well... Let's just say he'll lose a very handy weapon. Kidou is also at a disadvantage as his axe was made out of metal. Metal is a great conductor of heat. If he uses the axe on the flaming infecteds, the heat might pass through the axe and burn his hand and he might drop the axe. Worst case scenario? He'll drop the axe on himself or his friends. That means Kidou can only hit the infected out of the way. He can't let his axe be stuck in the infected or he'll get burned. Gouenji was also the same as his stick is also made up of metal. The only thing they could do is run as fast as they can to the apartment unit while hitting and avoiding any infected that was in the way. The couldn't officially kill the infected. But the flames also did helped Fubuki, Kidou and Gouenji as the infected will drop dead by themselves due to the flames. At least that's good.

Fubuki, Goueji and Kidou stopped in front of the apartment unit which Haruna and the others are occupying. Just as soon as they arrived, Gouenji hit the door and metal bar door and quickly pulled his stick away from the fire. The wooden door and the metal bar door which was used to keep robbers out fell to the ground. It seems like the fire weakened the hinges and all they needed to do was give it a firm hit and the whole thing will collapse.

"Hurry! Inside!" Fubuki exclaimed and they rushed inside, careful not to touch the fire. They saw Haruna and Fuyuka coughing from the smoke. They were on the ground. Meanwhile, Hiroto, while carrying an unconscious Yuuka crawled into the living room.

"Koff!!! Where are Endou and Kazemaru?!" Fubuki asked.

"Here! Koff!" Endou exclaimed crawling our while coughing. Kazemaru was behind him. They must've been getting their supplies. Normally in a fire, people will forget about their things and run for their lives. Instead, Endiu and Kazemaru went in to get their supplies.

"Come on! We have to move quick! Time to get out of here!" Fubuki exclaimed. Fubuki took Yuuka from Hiroto. He carried her on his back, giving Hiroto a chance to get up. All of those who were on the ground for up. They took their own supplies. Well.... Except for Fubuki as he was carrying Yuuka on his back. Just then, the ceiling dropped. Haruna was right underneath that particular part if the ceiling. If Kidou didn't push her away in the nick of time, she'll be dead, trapped and burning under the fallen debris.

"A-Arigatou, onii-chan (T-Thank you, big brother)," Haruna said, still slightly stunned.

Just then, there was a loud crack.

"Oh, no. Go! Go! Go! Go! GO!" Fubuki exclaimed and all of them ran out of the burning apartment unit and into the burning corridor. Just as all of them made it out, the ceiling and the door frame of the apartment unit collapsed. They reached the door which lead to the stairs. But the door was already in flames. Fubuki cursed. He peered thought the glass of the door to see that the stairs was already completely engulfed in flames. Fubuki turned to his friends.

"We can't go that way! It's all in flames!" Fubuki exclaimed.

"What?!"

"But- But there's no other way, is there?" Hiroto asked.

"We jump," Kidou said. Everyone turned to him like he was insane.

"I guess there's no choice," Fubuki said. Everyone turned their gaze to him with the same look that they gave Kidou: Are you insane?!

"Look. I'm not suggesting that we climb, slip and fall to our deaths. Maybe we can do a human chain. It's only the 3rd floor. According to the number of people we have, we should be able to do it," Kidou said.

"True," Kazemaru said.

"I still don't get what's going on," Endou said. Fuyuka dodged a falling ceiling.

"We form a kind of human ladder. One of us will hold the railings on the other side. Another one of us will hold the legs of the one holding the railings and the chain of humans goes down and down. Then the one on the bottom will jump down. Considering the number of people we have, the person on the bottom should be able to reach the bottom safely. Then, the second last person jumps down. The first who jumped down should help catch the second person. Then the first and second person help catch the third and it goes on and on," Kidou explained as fast as he could.

"Okay. Let's start," Fubuki said.

"But what about Yuuka?"

Everyone froze. Yuuka was still unconscious on Fubuki's back.

"There's no choice. We have to wake her up. I'll carry her down. But she will have to hold on to me as I need both of my arms to climb," Fubuki said.

"But she's unconscious and sick!" Gouenji exclaimed worriedly.

"There's no other choice, if we don't do this, all of us including Yuuka will die here," Hiroto said. Gouenji sighed and nodded.

"Yuuka-chan! Wake up!" Fubuki exclaimed as gently as he could. Yuuka slowly woke up to see that she was on Fubuki's back. They were surrounded by flames. Yuuka looked like she wanted to cry. No one could blame her. It must be terrifying to wake up and find yourself and your friends surrounded in flames, smoke everywhere. There was also the fact that she was sick.

"Yuuka's scared! What's happening?! Where's onii-chan (big brother)?!" Yuuka exclaimed, tears sliding down her cheeks. She was terrified. She was panicking.

"I'm here, Yuuka," Gouenji said. Seeing him must've calmed Yuuka down as she started breathing normally again.

"Don't worry, Yuuka-chan. We're going to get out if here. All I need you to do is to close your eyes and hold onto me tight, alright?" Fubuki asked in a soothing tone. Yuuka nodded her head and closed her eyes. She was scared. All she could do is to do what she was told to do.

"Alright. Let's start. Fubuki, you should go last as you are carrying Yuuka. She should be the first to reach the bottom," Kidou said. Fubuki nodded.

"Be careful, everyone," Fubuki said. He looked worried.

Kidou went first. Then Gouenji, Kazemaru, Hiroto, Fuyuka, Endou and Haruna. After that, Fubuki climbed down. He jumped down. He had to put Yuuka down as he needed to catch the others when they jump.

"Yuuka-chan. Stay close to me. Don't go anywhere. Just stay where you are," Fubuki said. Yuuka nodded. She stood close to Fubuki.

"Alright! Haruna! You can jump now!" Fubuki shouted. Some of the infected nearby hear him and started walking towards them. Fubuki noticed the but couldn't do much about it. But they were still okay as there was still a distance between them and the infected. And as far as he knew, the infecteds move slowly. Haruna jumped. Fubuki caught her and set her down.

"Arigatou (Thank you)," Haruna said.

"Doitashimashita (You're welcome). Please help look after Yuuka," Fubuki said. Haruna nodded.

"Endou!"

"Got it!"

Fubuki caught Endou. The both of them then gave Fuyuka signal to let go of Hiroto's legs. Fuyuka let go and both Fubuki and Endou caught her. It went on and on. When it was Kidou's turn, the infected had already reached where they were standing.

"I'll take care of that," Fubuki said. "You guys catch Kidou,"

Before anyone of them can protest, he began taking out of all the infected on his own. There were quite many of the infected surrounding them as all of them kept shouting and shouting for each other to come down.

"KIDOU!!!!!"

Kidou looked down. He got the signal and then let go of the railing. All of his friends rushed to catch him. His friends managed to catch him... Or at least slow the fall. Unfortunately he out his feet down onto the ground a little too fast... And sprained his ankle. Ouch. But he tried his best not to show it. But as soon as he put his wait on his feet, he yelped in pain and nearly fell. Luckily, Endou was there to support him.

"Onii-chan (Big brother)! Daijoubu (Are you alright)?" Haruna asked with a worried look.

"I'm fine. Just a little sprain, I guess," Kidou said wincing. Everyone else shot each other worried glances. Just then, Fubuki ran towards them. He had finished taking out all the infecteds nearby. Each and every one of them were killed very cruelly. One of them had it's nose separated from its body while the other had its arm broken off and it's leg smashed flat.

"What's happening?" Fubuki asked. Everyone then notice the cruelly taken out infecteds lying everywhere. But they decided not to say anything about that and focus on other matters.

"Kidou sprained his feet!" Haruna exclaimed.

"What?!" Fubuki exclaimed in shock and looked down. Kidou's foot was sprained, alright. It was also twisted to a weird angle.

"It's okay. I fine," Kidou said regaining his posture.

"No, you're not. Let's find a place where we can wrap that foot up," Kazemaru said.

"To the clinic!" Fubuki exclaimed.

"There's no need for that," Kidou said.

"Well... When I got a stab wound you guys brought me there too," Fubuki said.

"You do not compare a sprain to a stab wound," Kidou said sweatdropping. Everyone except Fubuki did the same.

"Of course you do! They're both injuries! All the same!" Fubuki exclaimed. Everyone else did an anime fall.

"Well... I guess the clinic should be a good place to wrap up a wound. We should also give Yuuka some time to rest there. How far is it from here?" Kazemaru asked turning to Gouenji.

"Quite near. I'll bring you guys there," Gouenji said carrying Yuuka on his back. Yuuka snuggled up on her big brother's back before sleeping again. Hey, couldn't push sick people too far, right?

"Kidou, can you walk?" Hiroto asked.

"Yes-" Kidou took a step forward and nearly fell. But he was caught by Fubuki who was beside him. "Maybe not without help,"

"I'll help you walk. Just put your weight on me," Fubuki said.

"Are you sure? With that wound-"

"Just do it,"

"Alright, thanks,"

With that, they started making their way to the clinic. Endou, Hiroto and Kazemaru took out any infected that was too close for comfort. In like 10 minutes, they arrived.
